It wasn't too surprising to see that not much had changed in the way of decor. Perhaps a fresh coat of paint and some buffing to the floors. But nothing major from what he could see had been done. It was almost nostalgic being back here. He took his seat across from the male as he gave the place one more glance about the room. Upon hearing him speak, he turned his attention back to him. He couldn't help to smile back at him before picking up his own menu. Samuel looked over the various items carefully. Was it chicken? Or maybe some kind of pasta? He wasn't exactly sure what he had when they were last here. Perhaps it was a steak, or maybe he just wanted one since he had been talking about it so much in the last several minutes. He glanced over the many items. Some he found more appealing than others. But after a few more minutes of looking he decided on the chicken alfredo with a side salad. "See anything you want?" he asked curiously, placing his own menu aside.

Alaine knew he meant no harm. That was what made it all the more frustrating for him. He just wasn't in a good head space to be talking ill about Liam yet. His wounds were still fresh and he wanted to think that maybe, just maybe there was a chance he would return again. That there was something there worth saving. It was all a lie of course. Liam wasn't coming back and Jepsen was too kind for his own good. Not wanting to speak further on the matter, he clammed up. Focusing on the food in front of him, he took small bites and savored the flavors. Alaine shot glances towards the man but said nothing. He didn't even know what he could say. It wasn't as though they knew each other well enough to have a proper conversation. He was almost fine with it staying that way. Unfortunately though, it seemed Jepsen was the opposite. Glancing up again, he stared curiously as he was questioned. He chewed his food and soon swallowed. "Atlanta. I moved to Brooklyn when I was twelve." Alaine didn't really remember much of his time in the south. Just that it was about as crowded down there as it was up here. Over time he'd grown to prefer the north and hardly ever went back to his home state.

Indeed the options did seem a bit overwhelming. Lucky for him though, he could skip over an entire page due to it being seafood. Unless he was making it himself, Samuel hardly ever ate seafood in public. It was too much of a risk. He knew that accidents could happen and still wind up in other food options. But he liked to think that his chances were a bit lower by avoiding that area of the menu altogether. He noticed Micha glancing a bit over the section. If he really wanted it, he was free to order something with seafood. All he asked was that he not kiss him after eating it. With his mind made up, Samuel set his menu aside and turned his attention to the male. "If I remember correctly, didn't you have the chicken parm the last time we were here?" he asked curiously. Although he doubted Micha would remember. It was enough that he just so happened to remember where they had gone on their first date.

For him, silence was a luxury. Alaine had grown up around constant noise, moving from one loud city to another. Everywhere there was loud music, loud people, loud cars, loud trains, loud construction. Just noise, noise, noise all day long. Although he enjoyed life in the big city, he was not fond of all the racket. He found most noise he could just ignore and pop in his headphones. But then there were others that would shake him to the core and feel as though there were no escape. In silence he found peace. He loved the quiet mornings when he would get off work. He liked the gentle sounds of another person resting beside him. It amused him to see Jepsen struggle so much with his silence. He guessed that must be something he had in common with Liam. As that man could not stand his silence either. Alaine gave a brief answer to the question he was asked. There wasn't much to say. He was born in one state and moved to another. His mom was a nasty woman and his father left them before the move. But he was sure Jepsen wouldn't be interested in those boring details. Alaine ducked his head to take another sip of his coffee. He glanced up as the male questioned him again. Of course he was going to ask something like that. Sighing softly, Alaine set his mug back on the table. "It's not a matter of liking or disliking you." he replied honestly. "I simply grew up in a house where if I wasn't being asked directly than my thoughts and opinions weren't needed. I wasn't allowed to talk..." Alaine thought about telling him more but what would be the point? He didn't need to know that he had no friends or how vile his mother was every time he opened his mouth. On the contrary, he wondered if it was he who was bothering Jepsen.

Alaine knew that the male meant well, he could hear it in his voice. But there was a lot about him that he liked to pretend never happened. When he did speak of himself it was only natural to want to keep his answers short and to the point. Usually it didn't lead to more questions. But sometimes it was unavoidable. Samuel was once much like Liam and Jepsen. Always pestering him with question after question. Eventually he felt as though he had no choice, and gave Sam his life story. Afterwards he seemed satisfied enough as he never questioned him about his past, and focused on their current relationship.
Poking at his food, he gave the male just another short answer. It wasn't much of an explanation but at least it was something. He didn't feel like going into detail about how horrible his mother was, or how often his childhood home was filled with yelling and fighting. Alaine savored his quiet time, but he also craved the company of others. Although he was no longer living in that house he still had problems trusting others and opening up to them. Taking a sip of his coffee, he nodded quietly as Jepsen spoke again. The small sigh made him worried that he had said too much. He wasn't a child, this was true. He couldn't really argue with that. Setting his mug back on the table, Alaine nodded silently. "I know they do and I know I'm not a child. But those people should also note that I'm not trying to be curt. There's just a lot I'm not ready to share." he replied honestly.
Alaine wanted to be more open with the man. He rather liked him in the sense that he thought that maybe they could be friends. But he knew if he continued on as he was, that likely wouldn't be able to happen. After all, he'd already ruined things with Liam from remaining silent. He didn't want something like what happened with Liam to happen with Jepsen. Picking up his fork, Alaine tried to eat a bit more. As he took a bite of his eggs a familiar voice spoke to his right. He felt his heart drop and forced himself to swallow. He didn't understand why Liam was asking him that. Wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, he glanced towards the male. His words cut him deep. He couldn't understand why Liam was saying such hurtful things. "We're not." he replied softly. As the male continued, he felt a twinge of anger. He thought about calling him out on his bullshit, but would it even matter? He glared up at the male as he then further accused him of cheating. "Have you always been this paranoid? Or Did that guy you ********, knock a few brain cells loose?"

Alaine was probably overthinking things. Unlike Liam, he knew Jepsen wasn't as pushy. For the most part, he seemed content with letting him keep his secrets. Meanwhile, Liam seemed frustrated if he didn't give him any answer than the one he wanted. It might be okay to ope up to Jepsen, but he wanted to do it on his terms. He nodded quietly as he listened to the male speak once more before getting cut off. The sight of Liam standing next to him was unexpected. Given their last conversation he was under the impression that Liam wanted nothing more to do with him. Yet here he was, saying absurdities and making him feel even worse. He just wished Liam would stop. He just wanted to drink his coffee and finish his eggs. A glance at Jepsen told him that he was the males attitude as well. The more Liam spoke, he had to wonder why he was ever attracted to him as well.
Alaine sat there glaring at the male. If Liam wanted him to hate him, then he might just get his wish. He didn't appreciate being talked down to like this. And it was awfully rude of him to accuse him of something he wasn't even guilty of. He set down his silverware, listening as the male insulted him once more. His dark laugh only pissed him off more. Pushing back his seat, he stood up, and raised his right hand to strike the male. "SHUT UP! JUST SHUT UP!" his body shook as he glared at the male. Tears burned at the corners of his eyes, but he wouldn't let himself cry. Not now. After slapping the male, he dropped his arm down by his side and took a step closer to him. "If you think I'm such a whore than don't talk to me. Forget you ever met me. Forget you had anything to do with me. Because I'm done, Liam! Clearly it doesn't matter what I say because you won't believe me. I'm clearly nothing more than some stupid slut that'll give it up to anyone with a pulse." Alaine couldn't even look at Liam, he was so angry. He didn't care if he hurt Liam. Because right now he was the one who was hurt.
