Little did they know, Jack had escaped Julia. Dramatically, he had fire form around them to trap them, then he walked through them. He dropped the flames and grinned. "Ta-da!" He looked over at Jason. "Oi! Catch!" He threw a staff. "Train with that as often as possible. Meditate a lot, too. Once you have peace of mind and body, you can train." He smirks. "It may sound corny, but thats what I said to the monk who taught me it, and look where I am now." Fire encircled Rosalind's body then disappeared, leaving not even a single burn mark. The fire wouldn't have felt warm to Rosalind either; Such was the extent of his powers. "Once you're good 'nuff, you could take down a bear with a match," Noting Rosalind, he also added, "And not even hurt 'im." This was true; He'd done it often enough.

Rosalind admired his skill. "Where did you train?"

"Mountains, three weeks. Had my parents say I was terminally ill." He laughed a little. "And they bought it, too."

"Hm," Rosalind thought aloud. She rubbed her eyes and then froze. "Vlad," she said, " I think I saw him!" The girl had glimpsed so quickly his form, she was unsure if it had been her peer or, even, anything at all. Her grey-orbed eyes were wide. She wasn't sure if she wanted to save him.

(Just pokin' in before my brother steals the computer... Bellabie, loving the new look. Loving where this story is going. I'll be on for a few minutes, but probably not long enough to do much but one post each RP. Later!)

[Thank you, I don't believe I've ever received such a positive reaction towards poverty. Hee hee hee. heart ] It was then that the memories returned. "Where is he?" The policewoman was kneeling to speak to the child. "Where is your Daddy?" Blank stare. The woman barked behind her. "Secure the area, we'll get protective services on the child. Move! I don't want some maniac on the loose!" She turned back to the child, transformed, "Now, sweetie, what's your name?"

[Involvement, surely! After her father committed that murder, I should hope the police would be involved... Anyhow, she wasn't in trouble, they were merely asking about "Daddy," no?]

((Eh, whatever.))
Jack put his hand on Rosalind's shoulder. "Something's on your mind. What is it?"

The girl jumped at his touch. "Hm? Oh, nothing." Recognizing his curiosity she added, "We ought to return home before any more of those men come."

[Hee hee hee] "Do you wish company or..." Rosalind guessed that he might be better off alone. "... I can find my own way down."

He smiled. "Some company would be nice." He created a fire cloud. "Don't worry, my flames are solid enough. You can step on them and it'd be like stepping on concrete. If you fall, though, they'll seem soft as a pillow." He grinned. "This thing's our ticket down."
((He's... SUPER DUDE!))

[Envious, Master Nightshade? You know, Rosalind is supposed to be the envious one, not Vlad, silly!] Rosalind was suspicious, as this person had, only a few days previous, injured her quite severely. "Thank you," she admitted meekly to him, finding that there was no real other way.
