❛❛Sometimes you have to give up, not because you didn't try to move mountains to be with someone. You give up because they didn't try to move mountains to be with you. They settled for their life and the people in it, even when it isn't what they really want. You weren't meant to live a lie. Hold your head high and know that you won't ever settle for that misery. Let go.❜❜ ▇ ▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇
I'm feeling rushed. || I'm speaking to Coralyn. || I'm wearing smart casual || I have $200 on me and $800 stashed in the bank. || I have feelings for no one.
▇ ▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇
”How surprising.” for a moment he simply gazed into her light coloured eyes, his own gleaming with emotions akin to delight, and then he drew a deep breath. ”You seemed knowledgeable for a change.” he turned away, shattering what peaceful atmosphere they shared within a moment short-lived. Still, he understood how picky his sister’s taste palettes could be, albeit having grown out of the bad habit. He crossed his arms, pressing a thumb against the underside of his chin while he pondered. She wasn’t wrong, just as how appreciative he was of her during certain moments, despite not speaking of gratitude often. It was obvious at times, when his gaze would soften when they met hers, of how he’d compromise and follow her request, albeit rare. Just like how he is, right this moment.
"I've been there once, Normandy is a great place..." it was. It had always been his safe haven, a place to retreat to should life here grow to be too overwhelming. It was home, where he was welcomed with open arms, and strong tackles that shoved him to the ground before he had a chance to set his luggage down. Normandy was where tears were shed, both happy and sad. Normandy was where he learned of friendship, and of the harsh reality. It was where memories were made, where his love of music was birthed to. It was a place where he was met with a beautiful baby when he was at the age of nineteen, when he first held a baby girl within the trembling confinements of his arm, the first time he noticed her lips move when he called her name. “Lyra.”. Normandy was also a place where heavy emotions were felt. It was a place where his family sent him off with a tearful and loving embrace. Normandy was a lot of firsts. The first time he’d feel the strong tug against the fabric of his shirt when his sister was reluctant of sending him off. It was where he first planted a kiss against the forehead that seemed a tad too big on her head, the first time he made a promise to come running should someone dare lay a finger on her. It was the first time he made bold promises. The first time he felt so overly protective of his only sister. Normandy was home.
”Then you ought to visit again should you have the time. It is absolutely breathtaking.” he chuckled, reminiscing on pleasant memories as long fingers pulled out the wallet in his back pocket, and placed a hundred dollar bill upon the cold marble surface of the counter. ”Where did you live, if you don’t mind me asking?”
Once more, he was met with a cheeky remark to his question, and he all but ignored the silly grin plastered upon her face. Was it so hard to answer with a mere yes, or no? But he wouldn’t complain, it was how she’s going to be, very much like his siblings who had just stepped into their adolescent years. ”As I’ve said, I won’t force you to stay.” a brief smile graced his lips at the return of his change, before he murmured a quick ”Thank you.” for his goods.
”You tend to notice the little things after spending enough time with them.” like the way Lyra’s eyes would look towards the upper right corner whenever she was lying, or the way she’d chew her bottom lip whenever she was angry. He gathered the bags, catching the gaze of two fixed on him out the corner of his eyes. Golden orbs met the cashier’s, only to have her look away just as quickly as their gaze met. The other was Coralyn’s, grinning at him like a kid on a sugar rush. She positioned her fingers in the shape of her heart, to which was casually ignored by the young man as he strode past her, one hand holding the bags, while the other took the coat that was draped upon his shoulders. The rain was pouring, once again feeling his skin attacked by the harsh weather while he headed out to hail a vacant cab. With the goods in the car, he turned around and headed back in to fetch is companion. His raven locks were damp from the heavy rain fall, though the young man paid it no mind at the moment.
”If you would cease this nonsense, we don’t have much time on our hands.” he lectured, before raising a hand to gesture her towards him. ”Come.” his voice was a quiet murmur, a silent staccato as he ushered her to his side. The coat was draped around her shoulders, while he reached for both her umbrella and his. It was wet, raindrops trickling down the surface of his black umbrella as he opened it, draping an arm around her shoulder and tucking her to his side while he escorted her towards the cab. Long fingers gave the yellow door a gentle push, closing it with a soft thud before making his way towards the front seat.
”1203 Pasadena, please.”

❀ ❝Ⓒⓞⓡⓐⓛⓨⓝ Ⓓⓤⓑⓞⓘⓢ❞ ❀ ══════════════════════════ "There will come a prince, that will see right into my heart." Upon hearing his remark, Coralyn wished she had something she could toss at him, not to hurt him ofcourse. She crossed her own arms across her chest with a small huff, sticking her tongue out to him childishly but maintaining a fair distance so he wouldn't dare clamp it between his fingers like he did once. Although she wouldn't stay mad at him for long. It was like she had the attention span of a squirrel when it came to being mad at him, or anyone if it came to that, which reflected in this case with her going back to following his lead like a lost puppy. As he'd reminisce on his own, probably of home, she would watch as the attender was placing their items into the grocery bags, her attention shifting back to him. Nodding to his suggestion of visiting, she did consider it but would surely prefer having company with her. Her parents probably wouldn't want to go on a long trip, her sister wasn't so close to her to ask her. Her chain of thoughts broke again when he asked her of where she lived. So she didn't tell him after all. "Lyon. My place was close to a few dessert places, which is probably why I have a sweet tooth. But the outskirts where my grandma lived was much more peaceful, although my sister didn't like it too much." she signed to him in response, passing a smile. "Have you been there?" she asked. Chuckling this time from how he'd respond, she figured she might as well stay for a while if it wouldn't seem like her presence wasn't needed. ”You tend to notice the little things after spending enough time with them.” Did this mean they knew each other for a long time? Probably did for him to have known her so well. Did she know him as well as he knew her? Did Coralyn know him? Sure she took into account a lot of things he did, a few habits she couldn't miss, but did she really know him? Pouting when he'd simply ignore her little gesture, she'd watch him walk away with the bags and even step out. Wait, was he going to leave her behind? She quickly stepped away from the counter, heading for their umbrellas as she thought that was the least she could help him with but it seemed like he would beat her to it when he returned damp. She shuddered when he lectured her, almost like he scared her for that moment, a kick to her heel before she quickly ran over to follow him. As soon as he was by her side, her eyes cast back up on him, almost mesmerized by the pearls of rain on his smooth skin, some even trailing down his ink and dripping from his damp hair. Feeling the weight of his coat on her shoulders snap her out of her little trance, her own body instinctively pressed against his side when he'd escort her to the cab. A small part of her might have been a little disappointed with him sitting up front with her having the whole back seat to herself, the feeling was short lived when she realized he was still a little damp from him rushing out without an umbrella. Silly man, so much for a woman? How would it be any good if he caught a cold? How could he even spend the time he wanted to with her if he started to feel ill? Shaking her head at the thought, she'd scavenge her little purse for something useful. She wasn't carrying a bigger bag to have a scarf or a handtowel, she did have a handkercheif though. She pulled out the pale pink cloth, neatly embroidered with colorful floss around the sides, bathed in the scents that she wore and a little fruity from the gummies she had been storing. Since he wouldn't probably see her signing to him, she reached over and let the cloth touch his damp cheek, blotting away the little beads of water before she let him take over, leaning to the side where he could see her with a grin. -Exit- ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Company: Camil || Mood: Concerned || Single || ❀ || Where: The grocery store || Listening to: || OOTD: A snowdog? ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Occ:

It might have been the worst time to move out thought the brunette, possibility of a flash flood when she didn't even have a chance to properly unpack and here she was having to buy supplies for home. For now, she did have a temporary set for her things and if things did work out, they could be their permanent set up, although there were still quite a lot of boxes lying around and that smell of varnish that kind of exploded during the move. Now that was something she should be worried about, varnish was indeed a tad bit unpleasant for one's health if it lingered for too long. Although, on the bright side, she could sit by the window and paint the storm. As much as she wasn't so fond of bad weather, she did love painting a good scenery and from what she recalled, the window at the room she was staying in did indeed have a pleasant view of the district she was living in. Mumbling to herself as she made a mental note on the supplies she'd need for a weekend on her own with the flood at hand, she hummed to herself the song that blasted through her earplugs, careful not to get too carried away in its melody as she avoided swaying but occasionally twirled as she picked up a few items and placed them in her shopping cart. Not too many perishables though, considering there could be a possible power outage and she might not have a chance to leave home if there really was a flood. "Qué más...qué más...."what else, what else she mumbled in thought as she picked up some bread, along with some fruit jam that was already in her cart, a few fried goodies. ωhere Store l ωith Alone l мood Adulting l Outfit FLOODING! Finn huffed heavily as he pushed his hood off his head and ran his fingers through his honey locks wildly. Wow, it was crazy outside! He shouldn't be out in this kind of weather, but he needed some extra things in order to wait it out. With the flash flood warning for the weekend, he wanted to make sure that he had candles, food, water and maybe some extra towels. Actually, the only thing he was really getting for the possible flood was the towels, everything else was for the storm currently raging outside. Grabbing a cart, in case he got more than he could carry and get on the bus back home. He really needed to invest in a car! Now that he wasn't worrying about maintaining his bike, having been utterly destroyed in his accident, he should shift his focus to maintaining a car. At least then he'd be able to get around of his own volition, instead of having to wait for the dumb bus; or walking. This wasn't his first flash flood warning for this city, having lived here a relatively long time. Before though, he had access to Bree's car for times like these. Absently, his thumb went to rub against the pale area of his ring finger where it was clear a ring used to sit. Finn had finally worked up the nerve to remove it. He hadn't gotten rid of it or anything, in fact, it was safely tucked away in the safe he kept in his house. He just couldn't bring himself to wear it anymore because it brought up too much pain. Especially since his estranged wife wouldn't acknowledge him anymore. Well, not in any positive way. However, he made sure to keep it in the off chances that Bree forgave him and wanted to give their marriage another shot. Plus, all the sentimental value it held.
"Ack!" Finn grunted in surprise as his car collided with another. "Ah geeze, I'm sorry about that. I didn't expect any traffic given the weather." The honey brunette laughed at his cheesy joke about nearly everyone staying indoors and avoiding going out in the storm. Even if she didn't laugh, he could laugh at himself. Golden eyes looked upon the woman who he ran into, somehow couldn't stop himself from letting out a soft, pleasing whistle. When he realized what he did, he slapped himself, both mentally and physically. God! What was wrong with him lately!? It was like ever since getting his memories back, he didn't know how to be single. Of course, the original Finn had been in a relationship and married for so long that such an idea couldn't be too far from the truth. "Sorry about that as well, I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable or anything," he swiftly apologized. His face even began to turn a shade of red at his own embarrassment, which never happened! Well, almost never.

✐ ❝Ⓛⓘⓢⓐ Ⓡⓞⓩⓐⓡⓘⓞ Ⓜⓐⓡⓣⓘⓝⓔⓩ❞ ✎ ══════════════════════════ "No soy todo lo que ves, pero tampoco ves todo lo que soy." Lisa wasn't exactly paying attention either when she felt her cart collide with another, "Santa Maria..!" she mumbled from the collision, looking over at the person who seemed to have caused it. Her normal reaction would be to politely address the matter, then move to an ear full of her native, if the other person didn't but seeing how the person just made a cheesy joke about it made her let out a little bit of laughter she held back. "Eyes on the road honey, you wouldn't want trouble in this weather." she would remark, giving herself a mental pat on the back for how silly that must have come off. But hey, the man was being nice and so should she, right? Her heavy accent might have given away where she came from but she couldn't quite say the same about the man. With her hazel eyes giving off hues of green, probably the weather she'd say, she'd set them upon his own gold ones. Pretty she'd think to herself, envisioning a nice art piece with the shades his eyes displayed. Her chain of thought seemed to have snapped with his whistle, her cheeks flushing up a bright shade of pink, only to find herself startled when he'd slap himself. Almost instinctively, her hand would stretch out to stop him or see if he was alright, either way, she was too late. A quick chuckle escaped her lips which she'd try to contain but evidently, she couldn't. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have laughed like that..." she'd say, passing him a smile. "Are you alright though?" she'd ask, dismissing the fact that he had apologized, simply to avoid making it any more awkward. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Company: A stranger. || Mood: Uncertain, cheery || Single || ⓁⓇⓂ || Where: || Listening to:Mira Sofia || OOTD: Cozy casual ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Occ: Finn is so adorable~ ; u ; and thank you, you're too kind~

ωhere Store l ωith Alone l мood Adulting l Outfit FLOODING! OoC: Awww~ thank you! And you're welcome Santa Maria!
By the sound of the accent from this stranger's words, Finn came to the conclusion that they must have been a Latina. From what country, he would never be able to say unless he asked, but he wondered if that would be considered offensive. In this day and age, could it really? It was entirely possible he supposed as everyone felt differently about the same subject. However, he also couldn't deny the fact that the world was becoming one big crying baby and no one was doing anything to stop it. The thought process made him think how he would have raised his child; that he would never have now. In the pause between them, as this woman was giving an answer and making further conversation with him, Finn's features faltered slightly as he continued to think about how he would have raised his child. Would he enact corporal punishment like his own family had with him, or go along with this everyone deserves to win path? He began to feel the desperation of wanting to hold his baby. They would have been born by now, wouldn't they? Was he supposed to be having a boy or girl? If things had happened the way he had always envisioned with Bree, what would they have named them? Would she let him pick the first name, or be forced to settle on coming up with the middle name? Were they even going to give their child a middle name?
"If I swerve off the road, you'll patch up my wounds right?" he asked with puppy eyes. The weather was just getting to him. He wasn't really in this doom and gloom spirit; well not usually. He was just having a hard time adjusting back to his old life, when his old life wasn't there for him. Taking in the young woman's appearance, Finn wouldn't have minded if she took care of him. Plus, the accent was something he wasn't terribly used to. Perhaps she emigrated? Really it didn't matter, he was just entranced by the sound of it; finding it surprisingly soothing. I bet if she sang, she would sounds just as amazing as Allix does. Thinking about the fashion designer, Finn wondered how she was fairing in this coastal weather. It felt like it would be something very new for her and out of her element. This was a woman who had tried very little ethnic foods! Surviving through a flash flood in a city right next to the ocean was a whole new experience! For anyone! He would need to check up on her soon. His worry wasn't terribly high because she did live with her brother, so perhaps he could help her survive; if he wasn't being lazy as she often complained about.
Finn reached up and gripped the hand she had stretched out towards him, fixating his golden gaze onto her hazel one. He took note of the fact that swirls of green seemed to play along the shade of brown her natural color seemed to be. Was she something inhuman? If she was, he didn't have an issue with it as he wasn't entire normal himself. "Don't worry love," he replied softly as his firm grip on her hand softened. "I'm quite alright. Promise. You on the other hand-...I assume you're here because of the weather warning?" Finn released her hand and motioned to her cart with a small jerk of his head. It wouldn't be inconceivable for someone to come here and stock up on essentials for such an occasion. If they hadn't already, they should soon and if they didn't at all they were stupid. Flash floods were quick to take things out of one's control and give it solely to Mother Nature. If you were okay with relinquishing full control, then by all means do it but Finn still wanted to be on the safer side than someone like that.

✐ ❝Ⓛⓘⓢⓐ Ⓡⓞⓩⓐⓡⓘⓞ Ⓜⓐⓡⓣⓘⓝⓔⓩ❞ ✎ ══════════════════════════ "No soy todo lo que ves, pero tampoco ves todo lo que soy." Lisa watched the male as he'd seem a tad bit lost. Was it the weather? She was aware of certain people that seemed to mirror the weather around them, it wasn't intentional but odd none the less. Especially for someone like her with quite a few reasons to be gloomy. He didn't seem gloomy though, more or less lost, or in thought. Had it been an acquaintance, she could have probably asked about it but she didn't deem it right to do to a stranger, no matter how outspoken she could be. Although just a question like 'are you alright?' could easily make a small change in one's life, she assumed why not, although before she could even muster the words, her wide hazel hues met his with the oddest question to hear from a stranger. "If I swerve off the road, you'll patch up my wounds right?" with no hesitation to answer, it seemed like her quick thinking might have saved her the trouble of thinking it through. "Of course!" as swift as her response was, she didn't quite understand how a joke about their shopping carts could transform into something so...dark. Maybe it was the weather after all or maybe something that was troubling him, should she be pressing on it and asking him about it? "Unless that was your pickup line though, I think you could do much better...I'm just saying" she'd state, trying to lighten it up and mentally slapping herself. It seemed like her concerned hand met with his along with their eyes for quite a decent while which would make it seem like every shrivel and fold of his iris' had registered in her artistic mind. Feeling his grip soften on her hand happened to help her snap away from the trance those marvelous hues had put her in to feel her cheeks light up a little from his referral to her. Love? "I'm sorry but you don't really seem that alright to me, are you sure you're fine?" she would counter, her brows carefully knitting into a furrow of concern before her gaze could shift back at her cart which he referred to. "Oh, yes, also because I need to stack up since I did pretty much just move.." she would add, almost feeling ashamed of the variety in her cart. Sure unperishable foods were good for stacking with a weather warning such as this, but admitting that she could easily set fire to boiling water if she even tried cooking was quite painful indeed. "Are you doing the same?" she'd ask, glancing over at his own cart now before looking back up at him. An odd person he was, the tall yet appealing man standing before her and that was the thought of one people often considered odd. His eyes seemed to tell her quite a story though. As much as she was a lover of art and bright colors, she loved thinking everything and everyone had a story to tell, much like herself. The need to refresh or lighten up her atmosphere, that inclusive of the stranger with her, Lisa's plump lips slowly curled to a smile as she held out her hand for him, this time for a shake. "I'm sorry, I should probably formally introduce myself if our conversation is going to go beyond just a few sentences. You can call me Lisa, which is probably the only part of my name you'll remember...I should probably thank my mama for not giving me that middle name she wished to or I'd be a walking name bank." she mumbled towards the end though, shrugging to herself with a slight chuckle, "I'm sorry, I tend to give out quite a bit of irrelevant information to people, you're welcome to stop me whenever you think I'm talking too much. she would add, wondering if he was ready to just walk away like he never bumped into the Spaniard and go about his life. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Company: A stranger. || Mood: Uncertain, cheery || Single || ⓁⓇⓂ || Where: The grocery store || Listening to:Mira Sofia || OOTD: Cozy casual ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Occ:

Lola wasn’t used to such heavy rain. Heavy snowfall sure, but getting so drenched so quickly was something that was still hard for her to get used to. The cold was still fine, although with the thunder storm she supposed that it wasn’t as cold as she thought. She also had been smart enough to break out her umbrella and raincoat this time around. At least she was more prepared than the day she spent out at the beach. The only reason she was currently heading outside was that she needed food. Her supply was usually homegrown, but apparently she chose a terrible time to move to Soleil because it practically killed all her plants in the process. She knew she’d have to work extra hard during spring to accommodate the loss. At least she had plenty of money to splurge on food until then, unlike most who needed to spend grocery money regularly as a necessity. It truly was a wonder to her how anybody could afford so much outside food. The walk to the store took quite a bit of time, the wind and rain trying its best to knock over the petite woman as she went. By the time she made it inside the store she was a little crabby and partially tired out, her tail aching something fierce. She let out a huff as she began closing her umbrella, wondering if she’d have enough energy for the way back home. Grabbing a shopping basket and hooking her arm through the handle, the huldra began to make her way towards the produce section. Perhaps if she was lucky she’d find some peas despite them being out of season. Peas happened to be her favorite vegetable. If she was even luckier she’d be able to get lingonberries, but the sight of such berries were nowhere she’d ever been while in the US. What a shame it was. A small smile returned to her face as she picked up a head of cabbage, momentarily getting lost in her own thoughts daydreaming of her favorite bitter berries. ———— ❉┊÷ ✿ ÷┊❉ ———— (¯ OOC: _)

The downpour fell, like the shower of gunpowder and bullets against the rocky pavement of the sidewalk, occasionally splashing up against the brown leather of his shoes, and the hemlines of his pants. Golden hues glanced upwards, looking at the blurred view of the gloomy skies through the transparent umbrella. Days like these he wished he could stay within the safe confinements of his home, with a cup of green tea while he sat in front of the warm fireplace. Days like these he wished for company despite his telling his twin otherwise, knowing she’d rather be out and about than staying home within the suffocating walls of the house. He ran a finger through his silver locks, stopping at the knot that held his hair up in a high ponytail that fell like a smooth waterfall of snowflakes. He would be lying if he said he hadn’t missed the moments spent with his sibling, if he hadn’t missed the feeling of holding his sister’s hand within his while they spoke of their childhood, of millenias passed. A quiet sigh escaped his lips, feeling the mild bittersweet feeling bubbling within his chest. Perhaps he ought to hurry on home after grabbing what he needed from the local grocery shop.
Gentle footfalls landed on the mat as he stepped into the establishment, closing the umbrella, drenched with rain drops trickling down the outer lining. The air was cold, leaving mild goosebumps in the wake of his skin while he strolled towards one of the aisle, smiling when he was greeted by one of the shop attendants. His gaze scanned the shelves, searching for the brown sugar he needed for the teriyaki salmon he planned to make for dinner, knowing full-well his sibling would burn their kitchen down before she’d gotten anything cooked. A soft chuckle escaped his lips, finally allowing a smile to grace his lips before a frustrated sigh overwhelmed him. How is it that after many long years, centuries, that a person could still be so bad at cooking?
Long legs carried him to the other end of the establishment, hoping he’d quickly fetch the remaining things he needed, a quick come and go. Though with the woman standing in front of the things he needed, it seemed his departure wouldn’t be anytime soon. ”Pardon me, dear.” he called in a low tone. ”Are you perhaps having trouble with something?”

ωhere Store l ωith Alone l мood Adulting l Outfit FLOODING! "Ah!" he grunted as he threw a hand over his heart, mocking being shot. The blow was one straight to his ego. He didn't think it had been that long since he flirted with someone! There was a light chuckle from him as he dropped his hand back to his cart. Of course, if his interactions with Allix were any indication of anything, he really was out of practice. The first time he met her, he kissed her! He just couldn't help himself, though. She had brought him out of his funk with her spunky personality! He was extremely grateful for such an unintentional act that he had spontaneously kissed her. How was she fairing? He'd have to text her later and see if she was alright; if she needed anything. It was quite an adjustment, coming from city living to a coastal town. There were problems here that regular city dwellers didn't have to deal with, such as flash floods. At least it was only a flood and not a hurricane, or tsunami. Granted, none of them were ideal and came with their own set of problems, it was the lesser of the evils.
It seemed that no matter how hard he tried to hide any poor emotions he may be feeling, they always seemed to shine through. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that he was always so chipper that such emotions were easy to see. If he was anything other than content, people instantly knew. He seemed to have a face that just wasn't suited for negative emotions. Either way, Finn waved off her concern rather casually. No need to concern a stranger with his problems. Finn nodded in response. "Yeah, these flash floods are so unpredictable that it's good to get a few extras just in case. It's doubtful we'll be forced to evacuate or anything, but houses do tend to get ruined," he stated with a tone that spoke he had lived through them before. His home had gotten water damage before. It was nothing to severe, but there was a whole insurance issue along with floorboard replacements throughout the living room, kitchen and one of the bathrooms. What a nightmare that had been! Dealing with insurance agents was always a hassle since they all thought you were trying to scam them. Plus, they just never want to pay out.
Listening to her blabber on, Finn waited until she was done before engaging with her. "Well Lisa, it's nice to meet you; even under such deplorable conditions. I'm Finn," he introduced with a polite tilt of his head. "I don't mind at all. I tend to do that myself, sometimes. Plus, I like listening to people, makes it easier to get to know them." It was the truth. Although he mostly knew people that didn't like talking all that much, he knew a lot about them because he was there to listen when they finally did want to talk. Finn's golden gaze drifted to his cart, mindlessly looking at the few items he had accumulated so far as he thought about those particular friendships. He was still feeling bitter about Tyrese dating his wife, estranged or not, but he cared about their brotherhood too much to stay that way forever. It would just take some time. Jacob, well, he wished the guy would come back. The two were really his only guy buddies, everyone else he knew were women. He didn't find anything wrong with that, friends were friends, but he could use a little more testosterone in his life.
His thoughts were torn away when his phone began beeping. Reaching into his back pocket, Finn pulled out his phone and pressed the power button to open the lock screen. Another weather warning. Putting his phone back into his pocket, he looked back up at Lisa, "Do you need help with anything? It seems the rain is getting worse and the streets are already starting to flood in places." They were still safe from floods, just small stretches of road were flooded where they dipped down a little more than other places. It happened. He'd probably have to wade through large puddles on his way home, but he could always dry his clothes. A nice hot shower sounded really nice in this cold weather. "I'd be happy to help you with anything, especially if this is your first time in weather like this," he added, a content smile tugging at his lips.

~Keefe Aka~ I want to be where I don’t need to hide myself
So.... The sign suggested this was the place where food could be attained. Sixteen years on these functioning legs and teaching these eyes to read had allowed him to better understand the words of this world. There were so many interesting things that were best observed up close and personal. Even the energy in a violent attack was more thrilling than expected. Was it just the composition of this grown human body that reveled in such excitement? Could such energy also be found in that which humans praised so highly as camaraderie? Friendship? Even the topic of the vast majority of their music?
Could such be found here at the Grocers? Well, perhaps, but as humans suggested, stranger things had happened. And as one who carried himself with ageless experience, the body fitting an athlete in his twenties, and having the eyes as fresh to the world as a child, he expected nothing and looked forward to the best.
As much as the rain could give them, anyway. It was heavier rain than he expected it to be, but as his brood-sister went about her part of exploring this strange city on the island, he saw fit to gathering what their bodies needed to function here. This body couldn't help but feel excited about the prospect of surprises and challenges, however, even as he came to understand the occupants of this place were generally more docile and 'civil' than they might have been in their far history.
There was a stranger with the angled ear of a canine atop their head. Were those canine ears? The appearance of a female with green hair, busy at work. Ah, there seemed to be a conversation that appeared just to be starting between the two of them. A brunette lady was also in conversation... with a soft-appearing man..... Distracted, perhaps? Was it a conversation if there was some percentage of disengagement from them?
Perhaps the latter group wouldn't mind if he introduced himself....
With hair as red as a beacon, the man of almost six feet shook his hair free of straggling drops of rainwater, smiled, and approached.
"Pardon, Sir. Ma'am." Keefe looked between the two of them. Well aware he might be interrupting, he was under the impression begging ones pardon was a safer way to interject. Polite, his brood-sister informed him. "I'm having trouble finding food resistant to the deluge. What would you both recommend?"
And remain there Until the end of time

It was a peculiar thing for her to do, although recently it was becoming increasingly more common ever since she moved back to the city. It wasn’t until a voice chimed up much closer than she expected that she was finally startled from her thoughts. She swiveled around and her emerald eyes lifted to meet gold ones. Taking in his appearance nearly had her speechless. She forgot that the people of Soleil were not ordinary humans walking about. Eventually her lips curled up into an embarrassed smile as she collected herself. Animal ears or not, it was rude to stare. “ Umm… No, I think I’m fine, thank you,” she responded a little bashfully to the tall gentleman. She hadn’t understood his intentions for asking her such a thing, simply believing he was a nice stranger wanting to help her. No longer stuck inside her own head, Lola placed the cabbage in her basket and went back to looking through the available selection of vegetables. It was only after she grabbed a bag of carrots that she realized the man that talked to her was still there. It clicked at that moment that he was not there to kindly help her like some kind of store clerk. Obviously he was another customer like her. “ Oh! Oh, I’m so sorry!” She scurried a few feet back and flashed him an apologetic smile, a barely visible blush coming through her darkened cheeks. “ I didn’t mean to get in your way. You can go ahead and grab what you need. I’m not really getting anything in particular, just browsing, so it might take me awhile to finish up shopping.” The huldra waved her free hand lightly to let him know it was ok with her. As hungry as she was currently feeling, she had only herself to blame for not preparing better at a more suitable time. While she stood out of the man's way she would occasionally have to fight grimacing. With nothing to distract her anymore she was feeling the ache in her tail. It probably didn’t help that she had it coiled around her right leg as if it were a rope instead of an actual appendage. “ Stupid thunderstorm,” she mumbled under her breath without realizing. ———— ❉┊÷ ✿ ÷┊❉ ———— (¯ OOC: _)

✐ ❝Ⓛⓘⓢⓐ Ⓡⓞⓩⓐⓡⓘⓞ Ⓜⓐⓡⓣⓘⓝⓔⓩ❞ ✎ ══════════════════════════ "No soy todo lo que ves, pero tampoco ves todo lo que soy." The brunette couldn't help but chuckle at the man's reaction. It was quite entertaining being around him and they barely spent much time together. Or was she just too easily amused? How long has it been since she had interacted with people again? She should really step outside more often and not bury her nose into her sketchbook and maybe talk to real people more often, rather than paint them. This man was still on the top of her list though, his eyes to be specific. Would it be odd if she politely asked though? She was intending to credit her inspiration when she was done though, not wanting to go through the trouble of flattery to convince him to let her do it. Besides, she pretty much had what she needed, the impression of the colors in her memory. As much as Lisa would try to keep to herself, situations like these were where the brunette would forget that often people didn't appreciate nosey people and maybe pushing on his dazed situations wouldn't be the wisest thing, considering they were still pretty much strangers to each other. Maybe she should just brush it off as he did. "Well, you've got that right. That's true and let's just hope that doesn't happen. I've just moved in and wouldn't want the landlord charging me extra for 'maintenance'..." she stated with a little nod. Lisa's life wasn't much of that of a struggling artist, but money was still essential and spending her savings on fixing all the damage the flood would cause wouldn't be the best way to watch her money go. Speaking of which, she was still waiting on the cheque for her last art piece, maybe she should call the buyer on her way home. With her cheeks flushed from embarrassment when she realized she had spoken too much again, she rubbed the back of her head with a little coy grin. "Pleasure to meet you Finn." she stated with a little nod of her own. "Well then, I must say you are quite a good listener if you can put up with me speaking. People do say I speak a lot, but I'd beg to differ, I speak when I find something amusing to speak about and I don't know if a flood is as amusing to spea--Oops, I guess I did it again.." she chuckled, stopping midway as she tapped her knuckle on her forehead gently almost like she admitted she was a klutz. The woman just needed an opportunity to speak and she'd pour out everything her busy mind was going through, even if it made no sense or was barely even relevant. But then again, there were times when she was quiet too, often when she was busy working on her art or just deep in thought. With the latter though, she'd still end up blurting out whatever was on her mind. Even though she never showed it, she wished the few people who didn't mind her constant chatter were still around. Did fate really have to steal them from her so soon? With her trail of thoughts breaking from the gloom tunnel they were entering in breaking, her eyes cast up to the male when he'd offer to help, a smile tugging across her features as she shook her head lightly. "Nothing in particular really. I think I'll just need a few more...of..." she tapped her chin in thought before her mind registered him mentioning the flood and her eyes went back up to him. "Flooding already?" she asked in disbelief as she exhaled lightly. Wow, things were really getting bad already? How would she manage to get home? Was her place fine? "Oh I'm fine, is there something you'd deem necessary for this weather?" she'd ask, casting a glance back at the few things in her cart. Mostly snacks and a bottle of jam, crackers and cans of premade meals. She couldn't think of burning her house down with this kind of weather at hand with her attempts to cook. The woman's attention now shifted to the new addition to the bunch picking up supplies. Her eyes glistened as she noticed the colors on the male, so bright, so crimson, so...pretty! As much as she didn't intend to stare, she might have for a little too long. Wow, she must have come off pretty weird to the two right now, but what could she do? She was a sucker for beautiful colors and today seemed to be quite filled with them. Snapping out of her trance, her thick lashes fluttered as she blinked and glanced down at her cart. "Oh!" she said, picking up her snacks and waved them proudly. "I pick up snacks at times like these..they won't easily go bad and good for if you're bad at cooking or lazy at it." the woman stated, instantly realizing she might have revealed her little shortcoming to two strangers but hoped they didn't ponder over the little detail, making her clear her throat lightly as she awaited Finn's response. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Company: Finn and a stranger || Mood: Cheery || Single || ⓁⓇⓂ || Where: The grocery store || Listening to:Mira Sofia || OOTD: Cozy casual ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Occ:

ωhere Store l ωith Lisa & Stranger l мood Adulting l Outfit FLOODING! OoC: Geeze! I totally forgot you replied As Finn was contemplating what suggestions he could give Lisa on the things she might need to hold out the flood weather, his golden gaze was torn away when a redheaded man walked up to them. He seemed to be asking the same kind of question. Maybe he should become a tour guide! Finn knew enough about the island and all its stores to do an amazing job at it; too bad there wasn't one. Nifty idea though considering they got plenty of tourists. Leaning against his cart, he tilted his head against an arm as he gave the questions more thought. He was perfectly fine with junk food, but he was barely into his twenties and still ate like a teenager. "Hm..." he hummed as his gaze floated to nothing in particular. on your shelves. "Nothing perishable because if the power goes out, there goes a huge waste of money. I think the only things 'perishable' you should get are some fruits that could be considered shelf fruits. Ya know, ones that won't decay right away if they sat Otherwise, non-perishables like canned goods, crackers, bread," he stated to the both of them. Sure, most of it sounded like an unhealthy person's diet but there wasn't a whole lot that could happen if the power were to go out. The more one opened the fridge or freezer during a power outage, the faster the food would decay because of the lack of cold air.
"I think the most necessary thing..." he began, referring to Lisa's earlier question to him. "Would be water. You shouldn't need to buy any bottles, but it's a staple for any potential disaster." While he was giving advice on healthy options, he would likely buy at least one pack of soda. What could he say? He was a young guy who liked his carbonation; plus he was a gamer. The two kinda went hand-in-hand. However, as an athlete, he drank lots of water to keep himself hydrated. Now, being a newly made bachelor, he was going to be stocking up on things that reflected that. Of course, if he cared what people thought of his diet, he wouldn't eat in front of them; or go shopping right before closing when there was the least amount of people.
Standing back up from his hunched over position, Finn looked to the young lady he had been speaking to. "Do you need help getting home?" He had no clue if she had a car of her own, and if she didn't, he would offer to help her. If she did have transportation of her own, maybe she would be nice enough to give him a ride home. It was probably too presumptuous of him, but the worst she could do was say no. While not ideal, now that the weather had gotten significantly worse, he had come here in it and he could make his way home in it.
