It was bearable, and that's being generous, IMO.

A little accuracy wouldn't have killed it either.

Beowulf: The world's first proffessional monster slayer, the baddest dude ever to sail out of Denmark, who ripped off the arm of an inhuman beast, swam through a swamp in full armor and decapitated said beast's mother with a Giant's sword and IN OLD AGE took a dragon into death with him when no one else would stand against it.
You wouldnt think they could ******** that up, but apparently they did.

Beowulf was the Crix Madine of Scandinavia. And this coming from a region of the world that regularly produces big and overly strong human beings.

Save for the fact that it wasn't Beowulf who slew the dragon in the end, that's accurate. In the translation I have, at least, it is the one soldier who followed him in, and while beowulf is holding his ground, it is only with a little help does the dragon fall.
But then again, when you rip the arms OFF of grendel, it more than makes up for such a slight.

Oh yeah. There was that loyal retainer of his. Almost forgot him.
And that bears repeating. He didnt cut off Grendel's arm. He RIPPED it off. With his bare hands.

I could see that as a potential hollywood line.
"Blades can't harm the beasts skin."
"Then I shall rip off his arm!"
"That's Idiocy! This is Madness!"
"Madness? I AM BEOWULF!"

I dont recall him saying it. He just went and did it. And that increases his badassery by a factor of 10.

That's why I said Hollywood line. Since a literal translation seems to be so hard to make...
