Kotetsu thinks for a moment, looking over their options before motioning to a nice looking restaurant that looked like it served pizza. "Hrm... What about there, Kaede-chan? Or there?" He motions to another nice looking restaurant, this one offering various foods to choose from.

Epsilon blinks, looking over his shoulder as the female left with a hiss and a growl. "Well... I suppose if she didn't have the patience to wait, it's her own fault she isn't getting paid back..." He felt himself flush the slightest bit as the other kissed his hand, thankful for the fur on his body that sort of helped hide it. "I thank you for the offer, Asher. I believe I will extend my stay here and sit with you." He gives a small smile at the others bit about his name. "I believe my father named me after a star in a constellation he enjoys gazing at every now and then." He watches Asher for a moment, then tilts his head to the side slightly in thought. "I must admit that after some of the things that have gone on this night thus far, I am finding it a bit enjoyable and relaxing to get out and mingle."

~*~

Church frowns slightly, then walks over and grabs a few carrots and some other vegetables, then motions for the beef and potatoes. "Can't have a proper stew without more than just potatoes, Blondie." He says, cleaning the veggies off in the small creek that flowed just outside the cave. He also fills the pot with water and situates it on a hook he has set up on a stand over the fire pit. Taking the beef and veggies over to where he normally prepares food, he chops everything up and motions to Anders again. "Now, we'll put this in the pot there and let it cook with some herbs. Want anything in particular to drink?"

Kaede looked over at their options. Pizza sounded so perfect, but a little variety was nice as well... She went back and forth between each option, before her rumbling stomach had her blush in embarrasment. "W-what about there?" She pointed hastily at the second place.

Who knows, maybe it served pizza as well?

The male grinned and nodded as the other moved to join him at the table. There was nothing but pleasure painted on his face, or at least the half of it that the male could see. The pale blue eye watching him with deep interest. "I would not fret too much about paying back that female, dear Epsilon, in the end, she would only bleed you dry, and leave you poor and broken in the alley...I do not think that is the fate you desire." He turned his eyes to watch those the moved about on the floor, the dancing bodies and drumming beat of the music making him grin, the energy in the room much like a drug. "Mingle...yes, though it seems that you are not the mingling type, young star..." He glanced back over his shoulder to the private booths where the owner and other well paying patrons sat. "You do know...the others, they watch you. Your innocence is something that they crave, and really it radiates from you, Epsilon..."

Kotetsu grins at his daughter for a moment, looking at the second place she pointed to. "Whatever my little girl wants." He says with another of his goofy grins. He was pretty sure this place would have whatever Kaede was wanting to eat. He holds a hand out to her, not really expecting her to take it.

~*~

Epsilon definitely didn't relish the thought of being left poor and broken in some alley. It seems his dislike of the woman had definitely saved him this night, at least from whatever she'd had planned. "I certainly wouldn't want to be left broken anywhere. I think I could live with the poor part, since wealth is just a material thing." He flicks his gaze over to watching the dancers as well, then looks back at Asher as the other speaks to him again. "I admit, this isn't the sort of mingling I'm accustomed to. I'm more used to small, well guarded parties with my parents and brother back at home. My father is... more than a bit over-protective, so I've rarely been allowed to leave without an escort of some sort. Tonight would be the first time I've managed to give them the slip and see how various people spend their time." He raises an eyebrow at the last bit Asher says, his ears twitching the slightest bit. "I do admit that I am innocent of how things operate outside of the setting I was raised in. Is it the fact that I chose a place such as this to come to, then, that does it?"

((This is for Acy only to reply to for now))

Scalliwag lounges in a chair in a dark and kinda secluded section of an inn in the town he was currently performing in. He sighs in boredom, mis-matched eyes roaming over the crows in the room, picking those who might have easy pockets to pick for the future. His sitar lay on the table in front of him, and as he lets out a rather bored yawn, he gently sets a hand on the neck of the instrument. It was nearing nightfall, which was when he usually performed for coin, and judging by the turnout, there didn't seem to be too many people actually interested in hearing music there that night.

Masika strolled through the streets. It was getting late and the chill was becoming more of a bother than a pleasantry. She frowned a bit as her eyes flicked around to the various buildings that lined the streets. The jackal was used to more warmer climates and now that summer was nearing it's unfortunate end, what seemed like relief to many was a misfortune to her.

A sigh escaped her delicate lips as she spotted an inn. Calmly she approached the building and entered, ignoring any passing glances she'd receive. Attention was something that came easy to one with what some would call "beauty". She despised the way men treated her like some type of object they could gawk at. This wasn't to say she didn't use it to her advantage at times. She did - she would been crazy not to.

Scalliwag's attention directed itself to the front as the sound of a door opening caught his ears over the low murmur of various conversations being held. He noticed with a slight smirk and an upraised eyebrow that almost all conversation ceased at the female that entered. He tilts his head to the side a bit, watching her move, not nearly quite in the same way all the other men were, but more observing how she seemed to move to music that only she could hear. Being in the table closest to the counter, he tilts his head back enough to catch the innkeeper's eye and murmurs in a low voice, "Put her room on my tab. Dinner too." He wasn't heartless, after all, and judging by her outfit, she was definitely ill-prepared for the harsh climate the area provided. He stands up slowly and gives a deep bow in Masika's direction before stepping a bit closer. "I've had them add a room and dinner for you onto my tab here, dear Lady. Wouldn't do for anyone to freeze or go hungry, yes?" He said no more than that, stepping back and heading back to his own table and sitting back down, one hand going back on the neck of the sitar before him. He would leave it up to her to decide if she joined him to talk or not and just gave a pleasant smile to the rest of the room.

Masika raised a brow as the fellow Jackal spoke. It wasn't something she was unused to - men scrambling to pamper her thinking they might get a little something that night in return. However she sensed no direct ill-intentions from this man and that perked her interest. She slowly walked up to Scalliwag after checking in with the innkeeper, confirming that in fact, it was all taken care of. She hummed a bit as she sat herself across from him gracefully and placed her elbows on the table, not to be rude, but instead to prop her head up as she leaned in a bit closer. "Tell me sir, why give me something so kind? What is it that you're looking for in return? One does not give without expecting to take, after all."

Scalliwag blinks a bit and raises an eyebrow at the questions. "Honestly? Just talking would be nice. I'm not so base and vulgar that I'd expect personal payment out of this, as pretty as you are. I figured that this would help you perhaps have enough money to find yourself something warmer to wear in your travels. It's only going to get colder the further north you go, after all." He gives a small smile, then gives a little half-bow from his seated position. "My name is Scalliwag. I'm a traveling minstrel by trade." His eyes flick over the crowd once more, seeming to fixate on another possible target briefly before looking back at Masika. "What about you? What are you doing so far north alone and with an outfit suited to desert climates?"
PostPosted: Fri Aug 24, 2012 6:16 pm
Masika listened closely and frowned at the thought of traveling any further north in her outfit if it truly was going to get colder. "Isn't that sweet of you?" She replied and removed her elbows from the table as she leaned back. "I am Masika. I'm currently traveling in search of my brother. We got separated and I'm determined to find him." It probably wasn't the most captivating story but it was the truth. Her younger, lazier brother did not arrive when she did and it was devastating to the seemingly aloof and apathetic female. If this man traveled, he may just be able to help her find her brother.

Scalliwag frowns slightly as he listened to her reason for traveling. "A pleasure to meet you, Masika. Losing ones family is a tragedy indeed. I could travel with you, if you like, and help you search for your brother? Aside from playing my music, I do have other means of earning coin and gathering supplies, if the need arises." While yes, Scalliwag was honorable where it counted in dealing with others and fighting, when it came to getting food and supplies, he could be quite sneaky, usually finding a way to steal said items if the need was great enough, meaning, if he had little to no coin on hand. "Although, we did just meet, after all, so I suppose it would be rather strange to trust me so readily, yes?" He gives a small chuckle at that, then he stands up, instrument in hand, as the innkeeper finally arrives to take Masika's order. "Well, I shall leave you here to think and eat, as I have to perform here shortly." He says, giving a wink and a grin again before heading to what could have been a poorly constructed raised platform near one part of the room. Tuning his instrument, he strums the strings on a bit, then launches into the type of song one might typically hear in a bar.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 24, 2012 6:29 pm
Masika nodded as he gave her time to think it over. Scalliwag seemed decent enough, his words seemed truthful and held little to no deceit that would contradict his actions. No, at least not on the matter of traveling together. She ordered something light for dinner and eased into a more peaceful air as the music played. It was unlike the music she was used to but still it pleased her ears. Traveling with this man wouldn't be horrible if she could hear his music again. But still she had time to think it all over and so she began to ponder. This was all to simplistic and despite his seemingly good intentions, nothing was ever ease. He wanted something and she would find out before it came to bite her in the rear.

Scalliwag played through a few more songs, ending in a bow, one arm across his stomach, the other holding his instrument behind his back. As he had surmised, there wasn't much of a turnout of coin being thrown at his feet, but, well, he'd made do with less before. Carefully scooping the coins up and putting them into a bag at his hip, he heads back to the table where Masika sat. "Not quite as profitable a night as the last town I stayed at, but, well, I suppose that means I'll have to use some of my other skills a bit later tonight." He carefully, almost reverently set the instrument in front of him once more, pushing black and white hair out of his face with a slight huff. "So, in case you decide that you would not prefer my company in your travels, what would your brother happen to look like, so that I might keep an eye out for him during my travels?"
PostPosted: Fri Aug 24, 2012 6:43 pm
Masika thought of the best description of her brother. "My brother, Bakari, is taller than me, about a head or two's height taller. Lighter skinned, lacks the fur on his ear tips, and has these bizarre markings on his lips that make him seem to be smiling at any time. But well, back to the matter at hand..." Shaking her head she sighed, "I may take you up on your traveling offer, but I'd like to know what is it you'd want me to do in our travels?"

Scalliwag listens to her description of her brother, filing that in his memory in case he ever did come across the other. "Do? Well, I'm not sure what your own talents might be... I suppose if you knew how to dance that would probably help to better keep me from having to steal supplies from people when we needed to stock up. Anything earned would be split equally between us since it'd just be you and I traveling together to my knowledge. At least until we found your brother. Then, if you two wished to part ways with me, I'd just continue as I've always done. I travel for a few reasons. The first is because I enjoy being on the road too much to settle down in one place for long. This is most likely because I've never been someplace or met that special someone that makes me feel at home enough to settle down. I'm not someone who dallies in one-night stands, either, nor have I any interest in sleeping with a traveling companion just to pass time away. So, you'd have nothing to worry about from me in that regard. I also am not the type of person who attacks people for no reason. When I fight, it's always in defense of myself or of whoever might be traveling with me."
