Tails knew this feeling. After all those times hanging from Blizz's shoulders when Blizz was in mid-agility, he could not mistake this giddy, gutwrenching feeling such great acceleration stirred in him. He kept perhaps a tighter hold than was necessary on Articuno's leg as he lobbed the energy ball. As it soared, it required the whole of his concentration to keep intact.

"Ascend!" Tails called. This was not a suggestion -- it was a warning.

The ball fell square in the Raticate's path and the moment it hit the ground, exploded with the kind of intensity one might see in bone-shattering grenades, and came with its own localized backdraft. Tails had made damned sure he was not looking directly at it.

Tsuki walked around, looking at his peers. Whistling he said "Hey guys I'm going do try Operation Pitfall tomorrow morning. So join if you want." before walking away. He wasn't exactly the social type per say but he'd invite them to come along anyways and try to get to know them better. If they would come.

Articuno pulled up, hard, as fast as it could, to avert the impending blast that Tails set up for. The Raticate was rushing. Hard as it could. The trees drew closer. Freedom was.....not coming. The blast caught the rat, sending it flying and hitting the ground once more. This time, however. It wasn't moving.

The Articuno finally slowed down then descended upon the ground, low enough for Tails to hop off. He couldn't exactly land himself with Tails underfoot.

Tails dropped from Articuno's leg from ten feet, landed on all four legs, tails high. He glanced about for signs of an ambush. It was not uncommon for other Pokemon to snatch up a fresh kill. He rose into a sprint to secure the meal for both of them, embers falling from his mouth. He would not be caught unawares.

When Tails approach, he would find that the Raticate...was still alive. That said, the to-be meal was injured. Gravely. It probably wouldn't last too much longer in these conditions. It was suffering...

When Tails was sure there were no other Pokemon about, he knelt, almost tore into the Raticate with his claws. But he felt the rat's chest heaving. Pain. He knew that if he were on the other end of this, he'd want it to be over quick. Grabbing the Raticate's head with both hands, he snapped its neck with a single quick motion.

"Sorry," he said, but not emotionally.

Articuno finally came down and made its way over towards Tails after the fox did the final deed upon the Raticate. It walked over towards Tails and looked down at him. "Arrrriii." The bird spoke.

Tails backed up, in case Articuno had a mind to dive in. This was a bird of prey. They were ruthless in their precision and precise in their ruthlessness. "How do you want it?" he asked. "I dunno if you like it cooked at all."

Articuno thought for a moment. It wasn't often, if at all, that it got game that was cooked. "Arrrriirrrii." The bird replied. It wouldn't mind cooked...at least give it a try.

A nod from Tails. Because Articuno was an ice type, he didn't want to overdo this. He had an idea, but whether he could pull this off without going beyond rare was another story. "Stand back," he said. "And don't mind the smell."

He gave the bird time to clear, then blew a flaring breath that enveloped the Raticate's entire body. For a moment, there was the stink of searing fur.

"Arrri..." The bird spoke, taking a few steps back then watched as Tails started to sear the fur and flesh of the rat. The Articuno shuddered a bit. That smell was a bit on the rancid side...

Tails waited until the smell was gone until he toned down the fire. In the past he'd found the smell a good gauge for the doneness of the flesh at five hundred degrees. The innards didn't need to be cooked well at all. Articuno was a bird of prey. He had seen smaller birds dip their heads into carrion guts like it was a moist brownie.

It was an offal thought.

Articuno then started to approach the fox kid once more when the smell started to die down, then nestled itself nearby Tails. He looked on, waiting on dinner to be served. "Arrriii..."

Tails gestured with both hands at the Raticate. "It's okay. Go ahead. I don't know what kind of cuts you like. Or if you're as wild as other birds. No offense, I mean."
