Demon x Kunoichi [Private]

[Kunoichi Haruhi]

Chione gasped when she was lifted off the ground, holding in her squeal as he spun her around. Laughing she kissed him back. "I love you too, Bomani." She replied, kissing him on the cheek and squeezing his hands before parting from him and going through the door. As she walked in the hallway she glanced back at him, giving him a small wave before heading towards the room where her mother and father resided.

Bomani smiled at her when she looked back and waved. Not long after that, another guard caught up with her to escort her to her father. Bomani slipped inside his room and pulled out a scroll...it was a small, basic poem that he'd been training himself to read.

Standing before the door of her mother and father's bedroom Chione took a deep breath. She had to do this if there was a chance she could stay by Bomani's side. Calming herself down she knocked on the door before opening it, greeting her parents sweetly as she was permitted inside.

Walking back toward her room Chione tried to hide the smile on her face. She had bought them some time, and she couldn't wait to tell him. Looking back to the guard assigned to her she said that he was dismissed because it was the end of his shift, and then made her way to Bomani's room. Knocking on his door she waited, brushing her hair back from her face.

Bomani looked up from the scroll. It hadn't taken too long, and he had been working this whole time. It was a secret to everyone that he couldn't read...even Chione didn't know it.
"Come in." he said, smiling as he knew who was standing outside.

((Alright, thanks. This whole week is full of testing...again. So, I might as well catch some extra shut-eye.))

Quickly opening the door and closing it behind her Chione immediately hugged him, having missed him. "I was granted one more day." She whispered, kissing him on the cheek. "And father will consider other princes...though this is the most likely one due to some circumstances." She murmured. Even if that portion of news was negative, she couldn't help but hope that the tide would turn in their favor.

"Excellent." Bomani said happily, hugging her close. Even with the second bit of news, he smiled.
"Tell him you met a prince from a far away country at that function the other day...that should give you a little longer." he suggested. Any prince from any country quite a few days from here would work. "In the meantime, what do you want to do?" he asked, kissing her back on the cheek.

"If I tell him, it may cause some problems. He might ask for more information and it wouldn't take long to look through the guest list." Chione said, hugging him back. "So, I guess I'll leave him with what I've told him for now." She sat in thought for a moment. "Hmm...Well, I don't have anything else to do for the day. So...I'm really up for anything."

Bomani tried to think of something. He glanced back at the desk, and the page on it. "Can you show me the library?" he asked. He'd never been there...in fact, this scroll had been given to him by a friend.

Chione was a bit surprised by his suggestion, but smiled in response. "Sure. Is there something you're looking for in there?" She asked, releasing him and standing, then taking his hand.

"Kinda..." Bomani said, shrugging. He smiled at her and motioned for her to lead the way. "I'm looking to...expand my horizons, and I've never been there." he said, skirting over the issue of his literacy. He decided he could move on to something more advanced though.

Walking out of his room Chione tried to appear casual holding his hand, just as she had always been. However, she had intertwined their hands, since she didn't think anybody would notice if it looked like she was leading him. "Alright, there is no harm in doing that."

Arriving in the library scrolls were systematically placed according to subject. Documents that had originated many years before were placed with care in shelves, rolls of aging paper neatly stacked on top of each other. "Here we are." She sighed, stopping and looking to him to see where he would go to first.

Bomani looked around inside the library, in quite a bit of awe. He started to walk around the room, only able to identify a few of the scrolls and shelves by name...the rest were unknown to him. "Have you read anything here?" he asked, looking over his shoulder. "Anything you could recommend?"

"Hmm, well..." Chione looked up at the shelves, "I never really liked reading, but if you're in the mood for light reading there are a few stories here." She began walking to the back of the library, finding children's stories her father had read to her long ago. Placing her hand over one of them her fingers lingered over the paper as she remembered those bedtime stories which had seemed to taken place so long ago, during times of ease and comfort.

Bomani picked up one of the children's story scrolls, unrolling it a little. He read the first few lines, with a bit of difficulty, then turned to look at Chione. "Who do I speak to, to take one of these for a little while?" he asked.

"Um, when we walk out I could notify one of the guards that I am borrowing those." Chione said, realizing that the chance of Bomani being granted permission to hold the scrolls, no matter how menial in importance, was small. "Is there anything else you would want to borrow?" She asked, then began to wonder why he would want to read children's stories.
