Darksol88 "It's kinda similar." Aden admitted. "Difference is you're the teacher and I'm the... well, student." Seeing where they were and hearing the next question, he could only nod. "And if I wasn't, I wouldn't have mentioned it this morning." The only question on his mind was which one to use. "Alright Aden." I got some distance away from him and took out a Pokeball. "If you hadn't already realized it, every gym not only specialize in a type, but they take advantage to every strength that type can provide." I told him. "Falkner and Jackie, of course, take pride in their flying types. However, the gym leaders are a hell of a lot more prone to showing what a Flying type can really do compared to the apprentice, and the fight at the Violet City gym yesterday was no exception. Sure, Jackie had his Pokemon do a few graceful moves, but he was relying on the other abilities of what his Pokemon can do. Like that Xatu." I said. Old wound getting opened again, but it had to be said. "The thing about a Flying type that Falkner in particular will definitely take advantage of is the speed Flying Types generally have, and more so, the fact of the air game beats the ground game." I then tossed out a Pokeball. "Scizor, let's go!" The ball bursts open and out comes the metallic bug. "Scizor!" It cried out. "Up for a round or two, Scizor? We got someone to whip into shape a bit." "Scizor Sci!!!" Scizor replied. "What you need to do Aden, is to take whatever edge you can away from Jackie, let alone, Falkner, which could be said for any battle, but this is one of those times where its emphasized more so since you are using Pokemon that are limited to the ground." I said to him.

"Slow them down, lessen their flight, make their advantage a problem with ranged attacks..." Aden was already thinking of ways to accomplish that, ignoring the wound's opening. He had a feeling he'd really need Mareep and Poliwhirl for the best results; either could slow them down, while one could outright clip them by way of paralysis. "A little like a faster opponent, except they can move a lot more easily."
He soon got the feeling that he'd have to attempt those very tactics when he saw the Scizor come out. Otherwise, pain was likely to come in short order.

"You best be ready, because in a gym, as you very well know, the trainers, rather it be apprentice or gym leader do not pull punches, and nor will I." I said. "Treat this as if for real. Ready?" Scizor got in a stance. He was ready to get this fight started.

Yeah, pain was going to be coming rather quick. If Aden could slow that down, though, and hold his own for even a moment, he'd consider that a success in its own right. "Ready. Mareep, I know this may be daunting for you, but step in front of me."
His Mareep had other ideas, staring at the Scizor in shock. She was being asked to contend with that!?
"Just trust me, okay? I've got some ideas. There's nothing to be scared of."
A little reluctant to do so, she finally did as she was told. Aden wondered if he should send someone else for this, but she needed the experience.

The Scizor kicked off the ground and started to hover for a bit, a good ways up from the ground for that matter. So Aden was going to start off with his Mareep. Well, crash course in battling, one way or another for her. "Let's go then. Scizor, go!" Scizor then went to flying off. For a metal bug, this thing was pretty quick in its own right too.

"Mareep, hold your ground. Begin building up whatever you can, and get yourself a little defense." Aden spoke up, opting to keep from going with a shout. He had to ease Mareep a little into following his lead.

With a hard turn in the air, the Scizor came down towards the Mareep and went to strike down the electric sheep.

Well. Attacking was mostly out at this point. The speed that Scizor was going at was a little overwhelming, if not for Aden himself, then surely for Mareep. "Brace yourself and discharge!" He called out, this time with a lot more urgency. "Thunder Wave!"
Lacking the speed or experience to try and dodge the attack, Mareep thought it might be best to just do what's being said, lowering herself to take the hit as well as she could. The impact and her own attempts were enough to discharge the electricity in her wool, letting off a small distance around her.

The jolt was a bit overwelming and Scizor skidded to a stop on the ground a bit, cringing. "While I know, Aden, that Mareep still lacks a bit of experience, you can't just stand there and take the hit just to get what you need done all the time. I noticed that you done a similar thing with Nidoran back during your last fight with Jackie to poison that Fearow." I said. "There are other ways to go about it. You just got to find it."

"Right..." Aden didn't try to contest that; he knew that he had done a similar thing and, while it was somewhat effective, it wasn't always going to work. "Mareep, are you alright? Can you still fight?"
Looking at her, he could tell she was a bit hurt. But now having an idea of what to worry about, she felt she might be a little better off, and nodded. "Alright... here, let's try to soften the attacks from him. Growl!"
Finding this a little odd, she doubted that such a thing would even faze Scizor. She tried anyway, but not only was it rather soft, it didn't sound all that intimidating or endearing either. He quickly changed his orders. "...Yeah, we'll work on that later, Mareep. Launch a Thundershock with what you've got left."
They both found that the attack was a more effective use of capabilities, with the jolt firing at Scizor.

After that growl, the world seemed like it just stood still. In a bad way. Scizor and I was left staring, rather confused at that. "Sci? Zor?" The bug spoke up. "Uhhhhh...huh. Yea, work definitely needed." I said. Scizor then braced itself as it gets pelted with another electric jolt. "Alright, Scizor, Double Team!" I shouted. The bug then started blazing off. Illusive copies of Scizor then started to appear around the Mareep.

"It was worth a try." Aden said, shrugging. Seeing the sudden illusions surround Mareep, he doubted going for any one would be wise. As he had hoped, she was constantly charging a little electricity to keep fighting. "Gotta get rid of those... okay, Mareep, just discharge the electricity. Attack them all!"
It didn't sound like anything difficult to him, and hoped it'd be the same for her. When he saw that there was a discharge surrounding Mareep, he figured that she had the right idea and it provided a way of how she might work best. Though, he knew it wasn't all that different from taking the defensive, so maybe it was better to take it with a grain of salt. At least he didn't run the risk of giving her brain damage by way of ordering the use of Tackle.

"Night slash!" I called out. The illusions faded away and Scizor at a fast pace rushed off towards the Mareep from behind, his claws aglow with a dark aura of some sort.

"Mareep, to your left! Move!" Aden didn't want to take the chance of her suffering another hit like that, not if he could help it anyway. While she was quick enough to move to the side, it wasn't enough to avoid being grazed by the attack. Thankfully for her, the wool was enough to provide a little defense against it.
"Counter it! Thunder Wave!"
It went without saying at this point, but a weak jolt went Scizor's way yet again.

I need to keep Scizor away from them, though. Weak as they are now, its bound to add up eventually even in its weak state at the moment, and Scizor will not be in a pleasant mood if he's gripped with Paralysis. "Scizor, go skyward!" I shouted. Scizor kicked off the ground and took to the air again. If anything, Im trying to make this situation as close to as I can get it in Aden's gym battle to come. By no means am I Falkner, nor will I ever care to be, but I felt Aden must get the idea on what's going on. "Silver Wind!" With a bit of a spin, Scizor came down and his wings shot out a slipstream of seriously abrasive dust towards the sheep.
