At the sudden noise of her office door being opened, she jumped in her seat, closing her eyes and placed her knuckles against her lips, trying to calm herself. Holy s**t! That scared her half to death. Didn't people know how to knock anymore?! You can't just go barging into someone's office, especially when the door was closed. The door was closed which meant she needed privacy! Slowly opening her eyes, her garnet gaze flickered up to see the one person she didn't want too. That's not true. She actually didn't want to see a fee other people, but right now, Alexus least of all. With a surprisingly blank look, she listened to him butt into her business, even after saying that it wasn't any of his. That statement was practically an oxymoron. How could you say it and then immediately insert yourself into business that isn't yours?

The more Lillian listened to him, the angrier she got. And when he finished...Lillian's anger couldn't be contained any longer. With a deep, demonic growl, she lunged at him, transforming mid-lunge. Grabbing hold of his shirt, she shoved him up against the wall. He didn't understand! The horrible guilt that ate at her; and knowing it would still eat at her even after she told him. The hurt from knowing he'd never trust her again. The fact that she betrayed him. Tears welled in her soulless eyes as she glared at him. He just didn't understand! "I would never leave him..." her voice was low, almost a hoarse whisper. "You have now idea what we've been through!" Her burning tail flicked behind her sending embers flying through the air.

Oh god! Sela. She was so consumed with her guilt that she had almost forgotten about their daughter. She would be caught in the middle of all this and it was her fault. One accident. One mistake. Her family was gone before she ever even spoke up about it. Lillian let go of him and staggered a few steps back, her hands hiding her face until she heard her phone ring with her message tone. Dropping her hands slowly, she looked over at her desk and pathetically hesitated in picking up her phone by just standing there and staring at it.

Over the way Lillian reacted to him coming in, Alexus was given the nerve he needed to start speaking; he probably wouldn't have gotten the words out had she not stopped to regain her composure. Afterwards, he was able to ignore her mounting anger easily; women were always mad at him so what was the surprise in that? However, he was initially shaken by the noise she made, his eyes widened and his back hit the door before he remembered he'd stupidity closed it just moments prior. It was ironic his boss was an actual demon, things like that were supposed to be jokes when you said them. The deathling gave an uneasy laugh, quickly looking her over despite being pinned to the wall. Not even the worst of men who had gotten their hands on him in the past were this intimidating. He refrained from saying anything more until he was released, at which point he first fixed his hair and clothing. "That last line sounded a little cliche. Sooo~, who did what?" He asked, looking up at the way she stared at her phone. Must be the man in question she was hearing from. "From the looks of it, this is more than just some spat you two are having."

Slowly she returned to normal, blonde hair falling around her shoulders as she continued to stare at her phone. Why did he have to talk? Didn't he know how to keep his trap shut?! Breaking her gaze away, she looked over to him sharply. "You said so yourself, it's none of your business. And why do you care anyways?" she asked curtly. "You don't really seem the caring type to me." Turning away from him, taking a deep breath, she walked over and picked up her phone. Opening and reading the text, she exhaled a heavy sigh. "Tonight then." Placing her phone back onto her desk, she looked back up to him. No! She most definitely wouldn't talk to him about it. And...And why had he gotten so worked up a minute ago? She knew he and Ty knew each other, but, that level of emotion from just a rival wasn't normal.

Lillian sat against her desk, "Just get out of my office Alexus. Go back to work would you?" she asked as she looked down at her fingers and watched them fiddled with each other. She was in a terrible mood, she didn't want to be here and yet she had too. Honestly, she just wanted to tell him and get the pain of ripping out her heart over with. Having to feel it twice was worse then just once.

Alexus watched the woman resume a human semblance as he tucked his thumbs into his pockets. He watched her glare daggers at him, replying with a curt shrug: "I said it 'shouldn't be' my business...But it might be." The second question went unanswered as he tucked his chin against his chest and dug his heel into the carpet. Obediently, he turned to the door and dragged it open. "Of course, Ms.Hall. My apologies. I'll just ask Ty what happened instead." He still had some tricks up his sleeve he knew could open the wolf up, if he used the right strategy. She said he wasn't the type who cared, and he wasn't. As long as it wasn't something that would hurt Rylee, everything else was just a game. Most of the time, anyway. The deathling does the door behind him, checking to see if his wife had text him back yet. She hadn't. "I'll bring lunch to you today, my love. What should I buy?" He sent another text on his way down the hall, hoping she'd see it before it was too late.

Lillian rolled her eyes. She heard that! That was just what she needed, her boyfriend running into the arms of his boyfriend. Three weeks. Three weeks! And she already screwed up. Shouldn't the screwing up happen when they didn't know what they were doing? When they were back in high school and things were still new to them. Screw ups were supposed to happen while they were still learning who they were as people. Oh who was she kidding?! There were no excuses for what she did! Her hand grasped her left shoulder where his mark lay under her shirt. Clicking her tongue against the roof of her mouth, she looked away from the door with an angered look. Now, she was worse than he was.

Her hand slid down to her stomach feeling a queasiness begin to bubble. Her brows furrowed as she bit into her bottom lip to try and force the feeling away. It wouldn't. Pushing off her desk, her office door flung open and ran her way to the bathroom. It didn't matter which one, employee or guests, men or women, she just needed a bathroom. Flinging open said door, she rushed into a stall, pulled her hair back and heaved all the contents of her stomach out into the toilet. Two more times and she felt a cold chill drape around her. God that was awful! But it was never fun to vomit your guts out. Sighing, she shakily stood up, flushed and pushed her way out of the stall. Staggering to the counter, she turned on the faucet and splashed water on her face to clean herself up.

Once she had regained herself, she walked out of the bathroom and back into her office. That was not at all fun and she needed to keep herself in check. There was no reason to get sick every time she felt bad about something! This was a very different situation, but if it continued like this, she was going to have to go home early and then all of this was going to happen sooner. Lillian paused at her door, feeling that queasiness come back. No, calm down. Everything was going to be...mildly okay. Maybe there'd be a rational way through this. Maybe he'd be forgiving enough to accept her apology. One could only hope. Grabbing everything she needed, she shook her head and tried to once again get in the professional mindset. Walking out of her office, she made her way to the employee elevator to head down to the kitchen and talk with the chefs.

Before walking into the kitchen, her phone vibrated, causing her to jump. Dear Jesus that startled her! Looking down, she opened the text. "No one is hurt but it's very important." With a deep breath, she walked into the kitchen and instantly being assaulted by the strong smells of food being cooked. Oh god! Creasing her brow, she covered her nose and walked into the kitchen. It was disgusting! Whatever smell was the strongest it was gross. "Stan!" she called as she forced herself to walk further into the kitchen. "Stan! Where the hell are you?" Thankfully, one of the cooks caught on that she was looking for the head chef and got his attention. "Ah! Ms. Hall, to what do I owe the pleasure?" the stout man asked with a wide grin on his face. Her face still contorted in disgust, she looked down at him. "God, Stan, what are you cooking in here? It smells God awful!" she asked, hand still covering her nose.

He looked up at her with a confused look on his face. "But Ms. Hall, it's almost lunch time and we're getting many requests for hamburgers," he replied puzzled. She gave him an equally confused look. She liked hamburgers so why did she suddenly think they smelled terrible. Shaking her head, she dropped her hand, "Look, I'm taking inventory and need you to tell me everything we're low on." "Ah! Follow me," he said as he motioned for her to follow.

Alexus was back at reception playing bellhop for a few checking in guests, perking his brows as he would get tips after taking their luggage to the room. Sweet! He grinned, toddling back downstairs as he stuffed the money in his pocket. Maybe he should do that regularly? Heck, why not. As he got back to his station, his phone vibrated and he'd finally gotten a reply from his wife. The text brought a grin to his face as he leaned against the counter and checked the time. Meh, he could go on break right about now. "Okay, my sweet. I'll b there n 10." He replied, then tucked his phone away. He clocked out for his lunch hour and grabbed his umbrella before walking out the door. Part of his mind was stuck on the manager now, and Ty. Something interesting was going to happen, and he had a feeling his ex wasn't going to be a happy man after it. Alex wondered if Rylee would mind, he was going to ask if he could check up on the guy in a few days. But should he tell her the whole story about them first? If she wanted to hear it, otherwise the past had to stay the past for the sake of their new start.

Lillian sighed heavily as she finally made her way out of the kitchen. Dear lord! She hoped she didn't have to go in there again anymore today. Her phone vibrated in her hands causing her to look down. Tonight. The Halloween party was tomorrow but would she be able to go after tonight? Her heart sunk low in her chest. Maybe if she just avoided Ty, things would be alright. Well, she certainly hoped so. Lillian shook her head. There was no hope for her. She knew what she did, how wrong it was, and all the consequences that followed. Maybe she should live with Lysander for a few days, just to make sure she knew she would be alright; to make sure Sela would be alright. She didn't need a repeat of three years ago.

Putting her phone away, she looked at the clock as she walked into her office. It was lunch time but she didn't feel hungry at all. It must have been from all that walking around in the kitchen. Sitting at her desk, she leaned forward and stared at nothing for a few minutes just thinking of tomorrow and how things will be. Her mood was shot. She was ready for the day to be over, completely. She wanted to be in bed and going to sleep but she couldn't because she still had a few hours in the day left. Lucky her.

Lillian looked up at the clock. She needed to eat something, as it was well past lunch time. She was already started to feel lightheaded and it had only been a few hours after. With a soft sigh, she pushed herself to her feet and slowly made her way out of her office, phone clutched in her hand. Walking out of her office, she held up her phone and dialed the babysitter so she could talk to her daughter. "Hello Kassandra, I was wondering if I could speak with my daughter. Is she up?" she asked, knowing that she had been asleep when she left and wasn't sure if she was napping or not. She was happy to find out that Sela was awake. "Hi mommy," her tiny voice greeted softly, but happily. Lillian smiled, "Hi Little Rock. Are you having fun with Kassandra?"

Lillian walked down to the kitchen, talking to her daughter the whole way there. She found that Ty hadn't come by yet and it made her wonder what would keep him so busy. He might as well just forgo picking her up at this point because she'd be home soon enough and then it would be pointless. Although, she wouldn't start talking to him until she put Sela to bed and until then she'd just pretend everything was alright. At least then she'd be able to touch him before he would rebuff her completely.

Lillian sat at her desk and threw away what was left on her plate from the kitchen, which was most of was thrown away. She actually wasn't all that hungry. She was thinking about what could have kept Ty from their daughter and her own stress. Ty did remember that he was supposed to pick her up and babysit her right? Did he forget about her? Garnet eyes fell upon her desk, staring at the papers strewn about in front of her. Maybe she should just go home a little early. She knew Sela was upset about not being able to see her father all day long, she probably thought he forgot about her and that made for a sad two year old. Sighing softly, she combed her fingers through her hair. Yeah, it was time to go home. Her daughter was home with the babysitter and Ty was off doing who knows what. Maybe he just got caught up in some author thing.

She wasn't finishing her whole day, but it was getting late and she wasn't feel very well. In between her first bought with the bathroom and now, she had gone running to the bathroom two more times. And most all of it was from being in the kitchen. Whatever she was smelling in there wasn't agreeing with her. It was ridiculous at how...exhausted and sick she felt. She even felt a little bloated. Maybe she was just about to start her period or something. They were much stronger after having been pregnant. With another sigh, she stood up from her desk, feeling a moment of dizziness before steadying herself.

Grabbing her phone, she dumped it into her purse and grabbed the chain. Her fingers played with the metal pendant before grabbing her coat and umbrella. Shrugging on her coat, she shut down her computer and walked out of her office. Turning to the door, she locked it and walked towards the front desk. "Janet, I'm going home. I'm not feeling well," she said as she passed by the girl who was still working the front desk. Why was Alexus taking so long for lunch? She'll have to have a talk with him about it...If he didn't make fun of her for anything Ty might have told him. That thought made her more upset then she thought it would. A rather heavy sense of rage settled around her as she made her way to the parking garage.

Walking through the garage, she pulled her keys free, unlocked her car and got in. Closing the door after she got in, she sat in the driver seat for a moment, just staring at the brick wall in front of her. It was cold and raining, but at the moment, she didn't register any of that because she was too busy lost in her own mind about everything this day had brought on. Weird sicknesses. Weird smells. Stress. Worry. Depression. Anger. Shaking her head, she stuck her key in the ignition, started her car and backed out.

Well lunch was fun! He got lost walking around with his wife and eventually had to go his separate way just to get back to work before he was fired. He sighed, walking back to his desk and clocking in. Now he had to make up for the lost time and work until late. Just great. However, the manager wasn't waiting around to scold him like he thought she would be...He soon learned she'd gone home early, and sighed in relief. Well, he still had to work late. The deathling yawned and stretched as he got back into the grove of things. Maybe he could get more tips if he played bellhop some more.

It was a little surprising, but Lillian actually felt excited about getting back to work. Maybe it was because she was getting a somewhat normal life. It may not have been the life she wanted, but at least she could finally leave all that craziness behind her. This was what was normal for her: being a single mother. She had been doing it for two years prior and she could continue to do it for the rest of her life. More than anything she wanted to be with the man she loved, but that was nothing but a pipe dream now. It would never happen and she was slowly, very slowly, coming to terms with that. There wasn’t much she could do in the way of changing how he felt about her after everything, but she would move on. She wanted to be genuinely happy for herself, and for her daughter. And that was what was most important; being happy for her daughter.

“Mommy, is this really where you work?” Sela asked, holding onto her mommy’s hand as they walked through the front doors. “You’ve been here before silly. You know mommy works here,” Lillian replied with an amused roll of her eyes. As she was leading the girl to her office, they stopped every so often for staff to welcome her back and ask about the timid little girl attaching herself to Lillian’s leg. The blonde introduced her shy daughter to them, but didn’t force the girl to converse with anyone if she didn’t want too. Ushering her to the Manager’s Office, she unlocked the door for them and let Sela walk in first. “You have such a nice office mommy,” she cooed as she walked around and made her way to the white leather couch. Lillian made her way to her desk, using the wood to help lower herself into her seat. “That’s right, you weren’t here very long before you went rushing out…” Lillian mentioned casually as the memory of the day came back to her. “Thank you baby.” Having brought some of her toys in from the car, she let the toddler do her own thing as she started up her computer and began to get to work.

Lillian tapped a pen against her laptop as she leaned against her desk. She had decided to stick with mostly paperwork today so there wouldn’t be too much running around on her part. She wouldn’t have to continuously get up and down from her chair and strain herself every time. Plus, she wouldn’t have to worry about checking up on Sela if she just stayed in the same room with her. However, she was also completely annoyed that already almost halfway through the day, and Alex was still nowhere in sight. Groaning, she picked up the office phone and punched in the man’s number. Hearing it ring, for what felt like the billionth time, her grip on the pen tightened to the point that it snapped in half, earning Sela’s attention. The little girl jumped slightly, yipping in surprise and earning an apologetic look from Lillian. “Alex!” she shouted when the ringing had stopped. “Get your a** down here now!” Despite the angry sound in her voice, she hung up the phone rather calmly, so as not to startle her daughter any further.

“Why’d you yell at that man?” Sela asked with an inquizzitive tilt of her head. Garnet met crimson, and Lillian sighed softly. “It’s because he works for mommy and he’s not at work when he was supposed to be,” she replied just as calmly as she had hung up the phone. Which, anyone who knew Lillian would find shocking for sure; except Lysander, but he’s actually worked with her. People assumed she was just a hard boss because of her anger problems, but not at all actually. She was rather laid back most of the time, calm, put together, until you got on her bad side like Alex currently was. Leaning back in her chair slowly so not to hurt her back, she watched her daughter color in a coloring book on the floor. “Oh mommy,” Sela suddenly stopped coloring to look over at the blonde with a serious look. Lillian blinked in bewilderment, wondering what on earth she could have done to earn such a look. “Yes Sela?” she asked, trying to make this sudden situation sound as serious as possible.

The toddler got up from the floor and walked over to her mother, who swung her chair around to face her. “What was the surprise?” she asked, still with a serious expression. Throwing her head back, Lillian acted like she had been caught trying to cover something up. “Oh! You remembered...Darn it!” she chuckled as she leaned forward and poked her daughter’s nose. Wiggling her nose, Sela looked up at her mommy with a bit of confusion. “Well, since you must, absolutely know! Jason is coming here to have lunch with us.” Where was that guy anyways? The little girl’s face lit up almost instantly, “Really?!” With a squeal of excitement, she danced around the office like she had just won first place in some crazy competition. The display earned a sputter of amusement before Lillian was pulling out her phone and recording it so she could share it with Ty. In fact, she wasn’t going to wait. Everything they talked about this morning was water under the bridge now, they were still parents to the same kid. But, she’d tell him what it was so he didn’t just think she was trying to push herself back into his life so suddenly. She’d save that for later.

“It’s a vid of Sela dancing.”
