I have a story.
There was this one time I was walking the streets of downtown, and there was a homeless person begging people for things. "If there's anything you could give me, please... it would be greatly appreciated." Feeling generous and quite happy that day, I gave them a muffin I had just purchased from a bakery. A second later, they had thrown it violently back at me with a cry of, "I DON'T WANT A ******** MUFFIN. I WANT MONEY. WHAT THE ******** DO YOU THINK I WANT A MUFFIN FOR?"
I was a little sad after that.

Puts them in an awkward situation and makes me feel like a complete creeper sweatdrop
