❀KALISTIA LE❀"No matter what happens, I'll live happily until the end." The ongoing announcement of a new event that was happened had really caught her attention, so she had come to the event location out of curiousity. For the occasion, she had chosen a dress that was still comfortable to wear while remained suitable to the atmosphere. She had also tried to braid her hair up more neatly to avoid anyone stepping on it, guessing at the abundant amount of people who would appear, but the hair length still managed to sweep the floor, obviously catching occasional attention. That was not mention her clumsy attempt to make the braid more fancy and she ended up covering fail spots with flowers to divert focus.
Sighing when remembering about it, she looked down at her own ID, glad that the age was in the correct range to join the event. While she had not remembered her current correct age, she was certain it was more than 20, so the end result on her ID was 22. There was quinting from the bouncer that made her sweat for a moment before she was allowed in. Breathing out a sigh in relief, she smiled at the bouncer in gratitude before pushing the door to go inside. The place was bright and cheerful, contrast with the Neon Lights that she had visited, surprising her a little, but she decided that she would prefer to go to this place. Though, she felt that she would not drink much.
Stopping at a table to get her name tag, she paused in her writing when she spot a smaller tab labeled "Species" that was rather curious. She was unsure what to write for it, so she left it blank before patting the name tag on the left side above her chest.
After some minutes checking out the scene, she was spot nursing a drink in her hand, occasionally chatting with the bartender but mostly people watching. That, and she was still not have the courage to walk up and talk to someone new. Nonetheless, watching others talk and act around her was entertaining.

I'm feeling indifferent. || I'm speaking to Megara. || I'm wearing casual attire || I have $200 on me and $800 stashed in the bank. || I have feelings for no one.
▇ ▇▇ ▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇
A light blush formed upon her porcelain cheeks, like roses blooming upon an empty field, like cherry blossoms blooming in late winter, or the hint of dye hitting the surface of still water, instantly dyeing it a shade of lovely cherry pink. Long lashes fluttered when she blinked, revealing a gentle glisten of her clear gaze. It was only when she’d tuck a stray lock behind her ear, that he could catch a clearer glimpse of her porcelain features unblemished and smooth, with lips a shade of lovely pink. She looked beautiful beneath the faint lights of the establishment, and Caius found himself staring a tad longer than intended. Hazel browns widened, and he quickly averted his gaze with a quiet cough.
Already prepared that she would turn away, he fixated his gaze upon his clear glass shimmering beneath the lights, with the background music fading and falling onto deaf ears. Once more, his surroundings fell silent, and his mind drifted to a place he often found himself retreating to, a place that laid within the depths of his mind, free from the ravages of harsh reality, and bathed in the lovely halucinations of his deceased wife, and his two lovely twins. They were happy there, surrounded by sunshine and the cool ocean waves. He took another gulp, a slow burn that fogged up the lovely image he created himself, and it was then, a slender figure entered the corner of his vision. He turned his head, surprise overcoming his being when he was met with the same pair of innocent gaze, and a small nudge of the chair to move herself closer within his proximity.
“Is it that obvious? I.. don’t really get out much, well I do, but not usually to places.. like this?”
A small, quiet laugh broke through, and he’d simply shake his head in response to her question. It wasn’t obvious, no, but she did seem as though she felt out of place. ”I thought you looked a little uncomfortable, that’s all.” he paused, trailing her gaze that led towards his prosthetic arm. His eyebrows raised, as though realization had dawned upon him, but he wasn’t avoidant, nor did he make any attempt to hide it. It was a reaction he had gotten fairly used to, some would give him strange looks, some would find it amusing and even cool, and others would just avoid him altogether. ”Yeah.. a dog ran off with my arm.” he joked, yet it was apparent he felt just a tad self conscious of his own body. Then again, it really didn’t matter much, did it? They were strangers who crossed paths for one night, and would go their separate ways the next.
”A lovely name befitting for a lovely lady.” he mused, then extended his right hand. ”Caius.” he introduced. But regarding her next question, he only offered all but a sigh, and a frustrated shook of his head. It wasn’t his first time in a place such as these, no. He liked drowning himself in the atmosphere of a quiet bar downtown, with the same old faces, where new faces would come around every once in a while. Though as of late, he’s been avoiding places that seemed just a tad too loud. And if he knew there was an event..
”I do. But I wouldn’t have come if I’d known there was an event.” he chuckled, taking another small gulp. ”Now what brings you here?”

It was pretty convenient that Cayden ended up moving here right before a summer festival. Especially what was basically a singles' meet up with that'll give ya a free drink if ya go. Sounds like a good time to him! He decided not to wear anything particularly special since he honestly doubted he would find anyone significant. Might as well try his luck, though, right? There was a smile on his face when he saw a line at the door, there's definitely a few cute people in there. He just has to get to them first! He showed the bouncer his ID, though, it seemed like he didn't have to, considering he just let him in without pause. Come on, he's definitely over 21!
He grabbed a name tag, signed his name and wrote "Wolf boy" on the species tab, and considered himself ready to mingle! Not without his free drink first, though! He asked the bartender for a Shark Attack, noticing a cute one, but she was farther down and serving someone else, so he wouldn't bother her. However, he noticed another rather cute woman sitting by herself at the bar. A shy one. Definitely his type. After he grabbed his drink, he sat a seat away from the black-haired girl, keeping his distance in case she got nervous. "I'll guess not much of a socialite?" He took a sip of his drink and played with the little shark toy that came with it, and read her name tag after. Kalista, huh? That's quite a pretty name. "I'd think it'd be pretty hard for a cute one like yourself to go unnoticed, though." Nothing wrong with starting with some innocent flirting!

❀KALISTIA LE❀"No matter what happens, I'll live happily until the end." Dangling her feet a little and humming a little tune to herself, she had remained comfortable in her quest of people watching. That also meant that she would notice someone coming by or coming closer. However, usually they just passed by or had different targets, so in the end it didn't really affect her. That was until a friendly voice sounded near that she jolted in surprise in her seat and looked to the side.
Eyes blinking in confusion and darted around to see if he was talking to someone else, she found that there was no one nearby and then smiled at him, her head nodding in greeting. "Ah, well, everyone around seems to have someone to talk to already, I didn't want to intrude." Which was true in some part of the area around her consisted of people who seemed to know each other or came in groups and pairs.
"Is that so? Thank you nonetheless." His next sentence surprised her a little and she laughed softly, cheeks blushing at the compliment. She tried to hide her redness at behind the drink she was holding by taking a sip at the drink. Eyes darting subtly to examine the person in front of her. Golden hair, blue eyes and especially handsome; she felt that he would be someone very cheerful and easy to talk to with the comfortable feeling she got when he approached. "I think you wouldn't go unnoticed too. You're also very cu-charming." She offered a return compliment earnestly.
Chuckling sheepishly to divert attention to her slipups, she gave him another nod and introduce herself. "I'm Kalistia, nice to meet you."

____________________ ❤ OOC: -- // ❤ Profile: Here // ❤ Mood: Curious; Social // ❤ Wearing: Something Casual // ❤ Money: $1000Candy's eyes fixated past the glass and into the ambiance of the simmering neon bar. It wasn't as vibrant as Neon Lights, but she understood the necessity of something much slower than usual. The man at the door was handsome, that had been obvious; not that he had been acutely interested in her batting lashes. But as she strolled past him as soon as her id was verified, he seemed to flick it in just the right direction of the sun - something she'd seen plenty of times on her ventures in Miami, her gaze fell to the small side table. Ahhhh. Name tags. She supposed, why not? The people she was planning on talking up would need to know her name somehow wouldn't they? A smile curved along her lips. Quickly she curled her name across the slip in sharpie; black and bold in peculiar spots to show off calligraphy before her glittering and curious eyes narrowed. In tiny, absolutely small print, she caught the next fine line beneath it. Species. Species? Did she read that right? Her eyes narrowed, curiosity piquing. This town was famous enough for its supernatural-esque atmosphere that they openly discussed it with each other? Were humans not... She curved another several letters, smaller, but very clearly written. Slime.
The small flower crown still sat perched upon her head as she turned on her heel, strolling to the bar with ease. She was no stranger to the bar scene. And besides - she smoothed the sticker over the left side of her chest - her shirt wiggling slightly over the top of her midriff; her skin smooth and pale beneath. A man- An adorable looking butler, too well dressed for the counter he stood behind yet very well fitting for his position. She slid up along the bar stool, crossing one leg over the other. She'd think he would have dyed his hair to make it look like that. But then again... She flicked her red/purple orbs to the tips of his ears. Very well made or- "Real?" She cocked a brow in his direction, propping her chin up on to her hand. She leaned, confident. And if she had nabbed his attention, she'd repeat the longer end of her question. "The ears - are they real?" Her teeth grazed, biting down onto her pink lip as she tore herself down to look back at the name tag reflecting back at her. "And Maker's. On the rocks." A wink. "And I suppose they are, hn?"____________________

Taking a sip of his free drink, Lysander grimaced slightly. Way to sweet for his taste! He preferred something just a bit more bitter, with a hint of sweetness. It was the undertones that made food, and drinks, so delicious. Food wasn't one dimensional, it would be no good if it were. This drink, though satisfying with its alcohol, was just a sweetness overload. He could taste the different fruit flavors, but it was just...sugar. The blonde wasn't a healthy eater all the time, but he didn't exactly want diabetes! Setting the glass back on the bar, he sighed softly to himself. He wouldn't let the freebie go to waste, but he would certainly drink it sparingly. Ruby eyes scanned the rest of the bar casually, people were starting to trickle in left and right but they all seemed to find someone just as quickly. It was almost like this was a dating event instead of a social gathering.
His eyes settled on a familiar face in the crowd. Meg. Pushing off the bar, he was about to make his way over to her when he noticed she was settling in with her own company. The guy was tall, chiseled, dark; you'd think him the stereotypical tall, dark and handsome. A momentary glow lit up his red eyes at seeing the interaction. They had been spending quite a lot of time together, with giving her lessons to help her perform better at work but seeing her in a non-work setting with another guy made his blood boil a little. Since he spent quite a lot of time at Neon Lights, watching girls take off their clothes, he had seen plenty of unsavory types try to take advantage of her after hours as well. Every ounce of him wanted to go over and make sure she was okay, but he settled for an acknowledging wave and settled back against the bar.
Lysander wasn't alone long enough to become the creepy stalker as an attractive, pink haired woman settled next to him. She asked him something, that he didn't catch right away. Turning his attention to the smiling woman, his eyes flickered up diagonally to try and look at his ears before rolling back to her. "Wanna touch them and find out?" he flirted, eyes narrowing to show his intent at the flirty time he gave. Though, his expression changed to one of mild confusion as she ordered a drink and never once broke eye contact. Was she asking him? He could, but he didn't work here. Looking at the bartenders behind the bar, and then himself, he didn't think he looked like them. He looked much better! Casting a glance to the woman, his head coming back up from inspecting himself, he gave her a once over. Or two. Rubies landed on the nametag over her breast. A slime, eh? Lysander dropped a hand over her wrist, gently grazing the tips of his fingers along her skin. "You don't feel very...Slimey," he mentioned as his pointer rolled over the bone that usually protruded from the wrist.

Esmée noticed rather quickly that her staring was bothering Millie. The young woman gave off waves of uneasiness, so she did the polite thing and averted her gaze. She knew all too well that some people, for a variety of reasons, just did not do well with lots of attention. Her golden gaze probably wasn't helping that situation either. At the mention of her first drink being free she grinned brightly. "Now that is wonderful news, I'm sure most people would enjoy a free drink. Especially the first one." she chirped with a soft laugh. If one was going to do a lot of drinking then the first was always the most important. When Millie turned away from Esmée, the witch couldn't help but look at her backside. Especially when her skirt rode up allowing a peek underneath. Of course she did this subtly so as not to make her actions obvious. It was just in her nature to appreciate the male and female forms. She took a moment to look around the room to see more people had started gathering before turning her attention back to Millie. Interestingly enough she turned back right as the other woman was shaking up the drink, Esmée's eyes almost immediately taking notice of her bust going along with her movements. She grinned and clapped her hands together as her drink was served. "This looks great, and smells nice too~." she purred out picking up the glass. Taking a long sip, a content hum escaped her lips. "You made this really well my dear, in fact I'd say it tastes even better than the one I enjoyed some time ago!" she said with a playful wink. She was definitely going to leave

“I guess I am, a bit. But I feel a little better now. Thanks for keeping me company.”
Despite their dark surroundings, his gaze was drawn to the curvature of the smile that curled her lips, like a gentle glow of candle light among the dimly lit room, whereas he, a moth, drawn to the faint light and warmth she emitted. The older man shook his head, answering with all but a mere shrug while he pondered on his answer. he paused, ”I didn’t think I’d be approached for company.” ash brown locks fell loosely, framing his diamond shaped features. For once in a long while, his facial hair was trimmed, and despite the unruly growth of his lengthy locks, he appeared well kept. Still, Caius felt as though he stood out like a sore thumb when he first entered the establishment, easily towering over majority of the crowd. First, was his large stature that came off a tad intimidating, followed by the permanent furrow of his brows, and his stoic expression. Second, was his voice that rumbled in a deep, raspy baritone, and the way his appearance came off a tad rowdy. Third, was the way he’d rest his arm upon the polished counter with an accidental loud ‘thud’ that sent the room quiet for a split second before everyone went on with their own business, leaving the older man stuck in a small bout of embarrassment. Three times, and he striked out.
Then again, Caius wasn’t looking for company when he brought himself here. At least, not until Megara came by. Their appearance and personality were a stark contrast, like a mountain cougar and a house rabbit.
He had thought their stature was one of the most interesting subject he had came across so far through this slow day, until her answer had rendered him speechless. A quizzical expression flashed across his features, evolving into one that was deadpanned, and eventually, a small smirk of the lips as he turned away in attempt to cover up his growing laughter. “Y-You were joking..! ..Right?” and that was the final straw. Caius threw his head back and as he broke into small bouts of laughter, feeling the tight constrict of his chest that inevitably pushed what remaining air was left, out of his lungs. Hazel browns teared up as they returned to her slender figure, dusty coloured gaze grazing across her fuming cheeks as though red poppy flowers blooming amidst an empty field.
”The war in Iraq. I made a mistake.” it was a memory that remained foggy to him, where fragments of images lingered within his mind. Ones he weren’t sure had happened, or had only been a false memory his delusional mins created. Nonetheless, it was a topic he was unconfortable speaking of.
But, when was the last time he found himself laughing? Weeks months? His rolled the glass between the fingers of his right hand, a gentle ‘clank’ of his gold ring against the glass of his drink while he pondered. He supposed a rain cloud has been hovering above his head ever since his daughters returned to Rome three months back. It surprised him this time around that it was possible for him to laugh like any other person would. A small, content sigh escaped his lips while he took a small sip. “Caius.” she mouthed, and as though on command, his gaze returned to her.
“Latin in origin and meaning rejoice..” ”Rejoice, huh?” it wasn’t wrong, though. He had been a cheerful and rowdy young man, stirring up trouble everywhere more often than not. But now, for a decade or two, he’s lost the shine he once had when he was a mere teen entering his early twenties. All had changed the moment he lost what he always claimed as his ‘universe’, a safe haven that offered him the solace he sought.
Large hands consumed her smaller ones when she took his hand, amusement briefly flashing across his expression moments before their hands parted, and it was within that said moment, that his sharp gaze caught hold of the light glimmer of her ring upon her own ring finger. A married woman. He found it strange that her husband would allow her to choose this setting as a place to look for friends. Usually, the people that come and go were only searching for some fun to pass time, a fire that burnt for a spur moment before going out completely. It wasn’t wrong, no. The thought simply came off strange for a guy who’s friends only allowed their wives to make friends over a lighthearted game of bingo with the elderlies. He motioned for the bartender to refill his glass, and placed a twenty dollar bill upon the counter, insisting that he pay for both his, and her drink. Common courtesy, he supposed.
“What’s her name?” ”Hm?” he paused, following her gaze. ”Oh, this-” he stuttered, a look of melancholy flashing across his hazel orbs. ”Celeste. A real beauty, I’ll say.” she was an angel, a woman who possessed an ethereal beauty, and was all but feminine. She was a strong-minded woman, the man of the house, despite his reluctance in admitting so. But even so, she had an air of sophistication, one that screamed of intelligence and wisdom. She was his downfall, and his new beginning. ”She passed from pregnancy hemorrhage giving birth to my twins. It’s been eight years, yet it haunts me still.” hazel orbs dimmed, downing half a glass of his whiskey to numb him off the growing discomfort, grunting at the piercing burn on his throat. Still, it was a weight he wished not to put onto another’s shoulder. He’d glance at the ring she non-chalantly covered with her hand,
”So,” he gestured, ”Who’s the lucky guy?”

Millie gave a single clap of happiness at hearing the drink she made was adequate. She was improving! All those long hours of practicing at home, stocking up her kitchen, was paying off. So much money down the drain, but obviously it had been well worth it if her mixing was being praised. Even with the obvious elation expressed on her face, her ears burned a light pink. It was an involuntary reaction of being called out on something, even if it was something good. The praise brought attention and attention was something she still had to get used too, working at a bar. Being a patron was vastly different. If she were just another paying customer, no one would take notice of her and she could be as goofy as she wished. In fact, this was helping her depressive episode! Sure, she was still upset about her recent blackout and stay in jail, but at least something was making her feel good again. Having to call her dad for bail was embarrassing! Twenty-four years old and still needing help from her parents; how pathetic. Mentally, Millie tried to shake off the dark thoughts starting to invade her mind. No time for that! She had a job to do.
There was a task at hand and that was cleaning up the mess she made! Rolling up her sleeves, without breaking her socialization with Esmée, the woman began wiping down the counter. "Oh, I'm so glad! I've worked really hard to learn proper drink mixing," she laughed, remembering all her massive fails. Crystal blues looked over her current customer and social interaction, catching sight of the name tag she had stuck against her chest. While she read the woman's name over, Esmée, she looked under at the tiny word beneath. She was a witch!? At least she wasn't the only freak in this town. Not that- No, she didn't think Esmée was a freak! Millie was now blushing a dark red. Casually trying to cool her burning face, she placed wet hands against her cheeks. While they had a dishwasher under the bar, Millie had grown accustomed to washing dishes before putting them in and thus soaked them as she cleaned all glasses and mixers currently needed to be run through. "Uhm..." She needed to say something! Uncomfortable air was no good. "So, you're a witch?" she asked, feeling dumb that it sounded like idle chit chat. As she fiddled with the dishwasher, she pointed to the name tag so Esmée didn't get some weird impression that she had been stalking her or something. "What kind? If you don't mind me asking. I have a friend who is Wiccan and I was wondering if it's the same thing," she added as she finished the minor chore and leaned against the bar in an interested manner. 「 ☞ OOC: Oh don't worry! "Wow!" she breathed thoroughly intrigued. As Esmée spoke about being a witch, Millie could see the look of pure pride on her face. She was obviously someone who wasn't afraid of who she was. Her family had nurtured her lineage and gifts. Unlike her current company, Millie was terrified of what she was. Millie couldn't blame her father because he hadn't known anything about her mother until after the fact. Her mother had only come to her later in life and after she assumed the monster had died. A ghastly spirit of the beauty portrayed by the beast. While trying to come to term with a fractured psyche after dying, her so called mother tormented her and just seemed to unravel things even more. It was like being tortured to the extreme! Millie couldn't help but feel a bit of resentment towards Esmée and their vastly different experiences with their heritage. She knew it wasn't her fault, but why had she been blessed with such a nurturing family? Her father took over both roles very well, and she loved her dad very much! But she wanted to feel the same pride that Esmée felt. Instead all she felt was fear and hatred. "That sounds very cool! I wonder what it's like to be an animal," she questioned with a curious wonder. She remembered that when she was little she used to pretend to be a lion while watching the Lion King. When she would go swimming, she used to pretend to be a mermaid! Actually, secretly, she still kind of did that.
"I would love to turn into a cat, just once," she mumbled casually. As she began to daydream about the immense fun she would have, and what she would look like, her fingers played with the ends of the napkin she had set the woman's drink on. Her crystal eyes drifted down to Esmée's chest, some of her cleavage visible given the sleeveless-ness of her dress. With her leaning against the bar, her chest only seemed bigger! Thoughts and images flashed through her mind; her perverted side coming to the surface. Millie had, had only one girlfriend in her life and she had been so nervous because she had still been a virgin at the time that everything was one sided. Now that she was older, more experienced, she wanted to try it again. It's not like she could just go asking around for something like that! "By the way...-" she paused and bit nervously into her bottom lip. "You look really nice. You almost look like you're waiting for a date. Are you-...Waiting for a date?" 「 ☞ OOC: Oh don't worry!
