It was already late afternoon and Solaris was serving a total of 25 customers for today, so she was smelling like food that was cooking through the pots and pans as time passed by. The time she spent with Mel did give her a bit of the boost to go on throughout the day, even with the fact that today's shift was a bit hectic compared to last time. She was done cooking the fettucini carbonara and was now putting the thing on the plate, cleaning the side, ready to be served alongside the order of tiramisu which would be reserved for a later time. Once that plate was put on the tray, she rang the bell, indicating that it was ready to be served. One down, three tickets to go before calling in for the day and she would head back home. Because she was now sweating a bit, she would have to wipe it off with her towel, the one designed for her perspiration since there should be a separate towel for almost everything.
The spaghetti and meatballs were next, and she had to be spot-on in cooking them well. Right now, she was busy reheating the freshly made sauce and then cooking the freshly pulled pasta as well, all for the sake of keeping things authentic.
(OOC: Here's my starting post. But since you mentioned that you are having fever at the moment, I hope you'll feel better. We may have to reserve posts if necessary in case your recovery will be late.)

Melpomene normally didn't go out to eat, but she had a lot of think about and the silence of her home wasn't going to work. Melpomene was pondering her own nature over the last few days, trying to figure things out. She wanted to be better and be more...human. She wanted to hurt less, and she knew that to do that she was going to need to find a way to put her own thoughts in order to repair the cracks and breaks in her own self.
Of course, she had managed to get a nice layout of the city at this point unless it was somewhere new. She managed to move about fairly easily even with her blindness and she had come to the place where she believed Taste of Italy was. If she recalled, Solaris actually worked here too! The woman put a hand on her chin before that lovely chirp and song from her left caught her attention. She chuckled raising a finger to gently rub the head of Lelwani who was always a gracious guide "Oh yes! I'm sure she'll be happy to see us!"
She gently pushed the doors open, trying her hardest to avoid possibly bumping into anyone. Mel was pondering if she should use her own energy more, but she worried if doing so would cause more harm to her spirit than was worth it. Like most magic, at least magic from her age there was a sacrifice that came associated with this power. Hers came at the cost of her death, but further use would pull from her spirit.
Shaking her head she realized she was just standing there. Lelwani gently began to tug a strand of her head leading her over to a table to sit until she was able to order.

There were actually three plates to be served for the spaghetti and meatballs so the portions had to be tripled. Not to mention that there would still be tiramisu as the dessert to finish off the meal, which, again, would be served at a later time. Solaris went through the similar notions, having to still clean off the sides of the plate before serving them all via the waiter who was in charge for them. There, two more tickets to go, though she was starting to get thirsty. She had to retreat for a bit to hydrate through downing a glass of water, the cool liquid soothing her parched lips and throat. She then left the glass for the dishwasher to take care of it while she went back to cooking more of the pasta for the other two tickets.
But if Mel would definitely here, it would mean one more ticket to take care of. But she wouldn't mind, though, since she was her friend and she deserved to taste the good food that she prepared, though the menu wasn't actually hers to begin with. The manager was the one still having the final say.

Melpomene finally got her hands on a menu and slowly thumbed over the menu thankful the place seemed to have some manner of braille for her to read. It took her a little bit, but she finally called someone over for her ticket and ordered soup and salad along with some wine. It had been thousands of years since she had even a single drop of wine, but it would be nice about now. She doubted it would have much of an effect on her anymore, but even so this was going to be enough.
Once she handed in her order she was told it would be out at some point and so focused on her bird.
Lelwani would gently tap out her messages, chirp and tweet at her and Mel would gently speak to the bird. She wondered to herself what Lelwani actually looked like, she was told she was blue but Mel had no clue how to take that. She no longer knew what color blue was. She didn't even know what type of bird Lelwani was, only that she was immortal.
She laid her head on the table, wrapping her hair around herself to keep it from possibly getting in someones way. She wondered if she should perhaps get a haircut? She sighed, so many things to think over. What was she doing this this chance of life she had? She was in a good place in life with a nice job, a good friend, a lovely pet, a great home...and yet she still felt like she was missing so much. Was it all worth it?
She wished there was an easier answer. She wished....

The fallen angel was still busy reheating the portion of the sauce for the two tickets, the pasta almost cooked, when the new ticket rolled by, meaning Mel was definitely there to visit her. It would mean one thing; there was still work to be done to appease the harpist, so after she was done cooking the pasta and the plates were served to the right tables, she started on the soup together with the salad, the croutons, greens and other vegetables being washed, cut and tossed before dressing then with a citrus-y vinaigrette at the last minute. It was the way to kept the crispiness since serving it soggy would not be good at all. Another waiter was in charge of serving the beverage for Mel as she was waiting for the food to the served, which, luckily, wouldn't take long since it was almost done. One the food was out and ready, she rang the bell, letting the waitress know that it was time.
Finally, service was done for the day, especially with the dessert being served to the other two customers, and she was definitely proud of herself, and since Mel did drop by, she would have to drop by to visit the candy shop owner. Solaris had to dry the sweat off her face and wash her hands before heading outside of the kitchen and to the table Mel was occupying to greet the guest of honor with a smile. "How's the food? Is it really good?"

Melpomene wasn't sure if it was Solaris who was in the kitchen though she knew she was likely a cook here. She simply waited patiently, gently playing with her beloved companion as she waited for the food to arrive. This play was interrupted when her wine was brought to her and she gave the server and gentle thank you before sipping at it with a bit of hesitation before taping a sip. She sat there for a moment before smiling gently, it was fairly good. It seemed like her taste had returned to her at least.
She drank gently, going back to playing with her bird before the food was ready. Lelwani sat upon her shoulder and gently cuddled in before Mel began to focus on eating. Her energy making sure she was able to taste it, and the good was great. She took her time to enjoy it, greatly calming her nerves and allowing her to divert her thoughts if even for a bit.
Eventually, and thankfully, Solaris had come to greet her. Mel smiled gently, turning her head to make sure she caught every word her friend might speak "It is delicious Solaris, thank you. I am assuming it is you I have to thank for such a wonderful meal?" she bowed "How are you doing today my friend?" she asked.
Lelwani gave Solaris a chirp in greeting and waved a wing at her.

Solaris was happy to hear that Mel was starting to like the food, a giggle escaping her lips before the harpist asked the question about how she had been today. The fallen angel sighed wistfully, "Tiring as hell but at least so many bellies had been filled up, and it's not that bad compared to last time in which Isaac had gone bonkers towards Xander; he definitely caused a scene." The funny thing was, she hadn't known yet about the ice mage finally having the raven as his boyfriend. She still needed to see that change personally since Hikaru was also busy with her job in Beluga, meaning she would heading home late at night. The raven-haired girl then noticed Lelwani feeling good and lifted a finger, patting the bird on the head as a gesture of acknowledgement.
"Say, will you be available over the weekend? I'll visit you on your house then we'll take a stroll towards mine. I actually switched my residency to Doux, so expect my place to be a bit bigger than my previous one." Her past back then had been rough, but she was now better than last time, and she was hoping that the invitation would help for another catch-up to make up for lost time.

Melpomene listened to her friend intently, finishing up her meal as she did so though Mel was very much out of the loop. Isaac was..Xander's brother correct? Had they been having some manner of familial conflict? The thought brought a small frown to the spirits lips. She understood that well though she was not sure why, it was not as though she remembered any significant conflicts with her family...did she? Wiping her lips gently she nodded "Ah, do make sure not to tire yourself out dear. Unlike me, you actually have health to worry about." she said, a small joke. She didn't make a lot of those.
Lelwani took the gentle pat as acknowledgement giving a nice chirp in return before she curled up again, looking like a little blue ball on top of Mel's head.
At the question Mel thought for a moment before nodding "I normally make sure to open extra early on the weekends, but on Sunday if you are available I would love to meet again." she stated as she did spend most of her time at the the store to make sure everyone their sweets, of course she did not have to be there all the time, but she loved it and it was not as though she had any other place to really go..not yet, but she rarely did as it was not like she had any other friends.
Maybe she could work on that? But would anyone want to be friends with her? Where could she even make friends? Could she even make other friends? What if...ah right the bill.
She smiled before pulling out her wallet and placing down enough cash for the meal and more down since she couldn't be bothered to try and count the money. It was about $100. It was clear Mel's mind was somewhere else before she snapped back to reality.. She stood up and bowed "Stop by when you wish, we will greet you with open arms." she gave her friend one last smile before she drifted off making sure to place her things nicely so they would be easy to take care of.
Lelwani waved as they left before going back into her ball state as she headed home with her spirit.

"Will still be stuck cooking for a whole day again but I hope you'll enjoy making the jewelry for today. I'll text you again once I head back home to Doux."
Solaris' message to Xander was a short one since, after all, she still had a full shift to do in Taste of Italy. Her phone was kept alongside the other things she stored in her locker before preparing for work, even wearing the hairnet under her toque and even the apron as extra precaution. It was to let him know that even if she would be stuck for twelve hours today, he was still on her mind. Plus, there was still the reunion as friends with Mel on Sunday; she may have to bring her rain gear just in case the weather would still be nasty over the weekend. For now, she should get focused on the task today, and that was to satisfy the customers again with her food. It would be a long day ahead of her, but with the need for money, she should endure it. She could only wish herself good luck as she headed to the kitchen, immediately diving in to prepare the ingredients and cook like it was the norm in her daily life as a chef.

It had been a long time, but finally, her shift was over and she could now go home, more so when she smelled like food due to being in the kitchen for a long time. Solaris had taken off her toque, hairnet, chef top and apron, having to even stuff them in her bag along with her other things since she would have to launder them; the rain provided a lot of water so that she could get enough supply for her to do the chore the next day back at her house. She closed the locker after slinging the bag on her shoulder and kept it tightly shut before inspecting her look through the mirror; she had become sweaty, her raven locks tousled due to the hairnet. All in all, she looked tired and worn out; Xander would like to wait till she was completely done showering in order for him to receive her next message. As much as he may hate waiting a long time, since he may be busy with his job, that would keep him occupied for the time being.
'God... I'm so tired...'
And she used the umbrella and coat as she left the establishment via the employee door. The cab was then called for the pick-up towards her Doux home since she wouldn't want to risk getting sick because of the cold weather.
