'Surely, the weather is turning nasty...'
That was on her mind after she was done serving the first table for today, the first among the others who would be present for her 8-hour shift. Solaris was glad that she had taken a bath early, because for sure, once she was done for, she would become smelly like every food that she was cooking for today. Come to think of it, the baker was going to be a bit late, mainly because of the rain outside. So much for the plans of her violin practice, but even that wouldn't stop her from visiting Mel for the upcoming days off. After all, she deserved to be visited, to let the harpist known that the violinist didn't forget her. For now, though, the first things first, which was the work that she had to endure for the rainy day. More importantly, she was hoping that Anthony and Hikaru would enjoy the little gift from her fiance, the jewelry set that was part of Xander's expertise.
After that, two more tickets came around, and of course, she had to attend to them right away. And they come around with desserts as well, which were freshly baked by the baker on the house, usually. Truly, she may have no rest for today, more so when there was another ticket coming around after those two.

SOLARIS TASTE OF ITALY $1,ooo SINGLE To simply put it, Samael Durnin was running late. The clouds were dark over head, and they sure looked really heavy. He had to make sure to pack Niall his favorite polka dotted umbrella and his little raincoat before he dropped him off at the preschool. It was after Niall had gone in with his teacher that the heavens had decided to open up and unleash the light drizzle—he was thankful he was smart enough to bring an umbrella, though public transport was a struggle to get on. Most buses were full, and the lines at the bus stop were long. While Samael would always choose to walk to work, the rains left him with no choice but to stick it out.
Still, he got to work. Eventually. He was later than ever and he felt a little guilty that everyone had to work hard while he was dropping Niall off at school. He ditched his umbrella by the umbrella rack. Then, he proceeded straight to the backroom where he was meant to work. He pulled his apron off the apron rack and quickly slipped it on. Just as he was tying the ribbon behind his back, he quickly opened the baker’s chiller as he took out he dough he prepared yesterday; this was the base he was to use for today’s treats. “Apologies for the lateness. The weather’s gotten me a little behind schedule.” He apologized as he entered Solaris’s side of the kitchen to clean his hands of any dirt, germs, and debris he might have gathered from his commute to work. “What are the orders I need to catch up to?” He asked her as he returned back to the baker’s area to begin his daily grind.

The fallen angel was close to finishing the appetizers for the first two tickets that came around before the third one, the salad that needed to be freshly prepared on the house. When the baker's voice came around, that was when she sighed softly, though she never kept her eyes off the food. "Thank goodness you are here, Mr. Durmin. I understand that predicament and I ended up being a bit late as well. I hope the sun will shine the next week." The weather couldn't be controlled, but at least it wouldn't be bad to pray and hope for the better. At Samael's question about the orders, she had to finish plating up the appetizers for serving before heading to the baker's station with the desserts written down in a separate note, from all three tickets.
"We have orders of the chocolate crepe cake slices for all three tables, first table with two plates, second with three and the third just one. Feel free to make a few extra just in case." That was all she said before the chef had to retreat back to her station so that she would focus on preparing the appetizer for the third table. Once the appetizers were done, she had to do the main courses, and most of them were requiring time to finish. With the sweat coursing down her face, she had to retreat a little from the hot atmosphere to wipe it down with a separate clean towel designated for skin perspiration.

The sudden downpour was a bit of a surprise. She didn't think the rain was supposed to happen until later! It was a good thing they had grabbed an umbrella though. Standing closer to her husband, Kaylee was a little glad she was so small, it was easier for Kos to make sure both of them stayed nice and dry. Reaching the restaurant, she dried off the bottom of her shoes before tilting her head back a little bit to look up at Kos. "It is." She agreed. She wasn't very fond of rainy days. They always made everything so gloomy, plus it was harder for her and Kos to go out when it was raining. Glancing around the restaurant, Kaylee look in a deep breath and her mouth watered as she caught whiff of all the different scents. This place seemed really nice! It was also a good place for them to have their celebration dinner. After a quick glance around, Kaylee turned to Kos once again and nodded her head. Hmm. Where should they sit? Taking her husband's hand, Kaylee then led him over to a table by the wall. "How about we sit over here?" She asked, tilting her head a little as she looked up at him. She knew Kos would probably struggle to sit in a booth, so the table would probably be better.
As she waited to hear Kos's opinion, Kaylle glanced around the dining area and was a little glad that the restaurant was mostly empty. She was here to have a romantic dinner with her love. She didn't want to feel annoyed because people were staring at them. Back in Tempella and at the academy the people had gotten used to seeing the strange couple and while they got the occasional glance, most of the time they were ignored like every other couple out there. This was a whole new city though, which she knew meant all new stares and whispers. While she had mostly gotten used to the looks, she didn't tolerate rude comments. That much had been apparent when she brought Kos to meet her parents and the night ended with Kaylee shouting at them because of all the rude things they said. They still didn't approve of her husband, but truthfully, she didn't care. She loved Kos and nothing would ever make her change her mind.

Looking at Kos, Kaylee smiled. "Good." She said before she watched with fascination as he built a chair out of white light. Watching him make new things was always intriguing to her, even if she was still a little hesitant to set foot into his workshop after... what happened. Quickly shaking her head, Kaylee tried to push those bad memories away. Staring up at him, Kaylee giggled softly when Kos gave her a 'kiss'. "Thank you." She told Kos when he pulled the chair out for her. Sitting down, she watched her husband sit for a moment before she got an idea. Getting up, she quickly went to his side and placed a small kiss on his face-plate before returning to her seat, looking like she'd just pulled of the most amazing heist.
With the height difference between them, it could be hard for Kaylee to give her husband a kiss unless he bent over to her heart or was sitting down. Glancing across at him, she then tilted her head a little before picking up a menu. "I'm not sure yet. Everything sounds like it could be tasty." She said before looking at him again. "Do you have any ideas yet?" She asked curiously.

SOLARIS TASTE OF ITALY $1,ooo SINGLE Well, it looked like Ellie had other ideas. Of course, she was here to get some orders for His co-worker was at least forgiving. As he began scooping up the batter to start kneading some dough, she mentioned her hopes for sunnier days. His mind thought of Niall, who was probably bummed enough about the weather. Rainy days meant he couldn’t come out to play, though Samael had some peace of mind. His little boy just had his flu shots recently. That’s something reassuring despite the nasty weather. “The kids won’t be able to come out and play today, huh?” He commented as he took out a baking pan. “With all the drizzling happening today, most outdoor play sets would be soaked. I wonder how they’ll cope with playing indoors.” He mused. While sure, there were toys to play with, sometimes the real charm of being kids is going out on adventures.
Thankfully, Solaris came around with the orders meant for him. She waved the tickets down on his station’s ticket holder, and he hummed in approval. “Three crepe cake slices in one go?” He chuckled, in a strange attempt at some humor. Well, he had orders for six slices and that’s exactly half a crepe cake gone. OH well, Samael may as well get it cranking. He took the crepe batter from the fridge and fired up the pan; he started building the crepe layers first. Layer after layer before he could even assemble it into one cake. He’d be wasting his time if he made one layer and slathered on the chocolate filling over it on a plate instead of working efficiently. While crepe cakes sure were tasty and a better option for those who disliked cake batters, it was a little more tedious to make compared to an average cake.
He’s not dissing his craft, though. Samael loved to bake. Hardships and all considered. “What do you think of having a baker’s special next week?” He questioned out loud for Solaris to hear. While, they did offer a wide variety of treats, he was sure in the mood to try something a little different. “Well, definitely nothing grand, but I was thinking of special cat doughnuts in these cute little flavors. A breakfast serving of sorts. I’m not sure—I just want to serve something a little more artistic than usual.” He added. The layer of crepes had just finished cooking and he moved on to assembling the cake itself—first, he needed to make the chocolate cream of course.

Solaris was just done with the wiping of her sweat and she was about to cook more of the main course when she heard the suggestion loud and clear from Samael. Why she hadn't had thought about the donuts before, but then again, the suggestion had to be pointed out to the manager first since they were the ones working for the person in charge of the establishment. Not to mention that the menu items were just changing on an occasional basis. "Perhaps, the manager may like the idea, and the donuts look cute, too. It all depends on what kind of flavors that you are going to incorporate to them. Maybe sugar-free or vegan versions have to be included, too, in case some people are on a diet or allergic to food products." Back then, some clients had to back themselves away from enjoying the desserts since they were allergic to dairy or gluten, and the sugar content may be too much for those who were cutting down on carbohydrates or were diabetic.
Definitely, it sucked for them to feel that way, but at least alternatives should be considered. Most of Solaris' desserts were mostly not safe for those people.
But more on the discussion later, since the chef had to finish the food and the clients hated the wait. Also, there may be more people coming along, and based on the voices she heard faintly, a couple had just arrived and was about to order also, so no time to waste for the fallen angel herself.

Right now, Chester needed a break from the preparations for the upcoming event, so he decided to take a detour to Taste of Italy, his previous workplace. The smells of freshly cut fruit and chocolate wafted throughout the area, the aura of his previous work experience. But now, the strobe lights and dance beats were his company with his present job as a DJ in Neon Lights. More importantly, he wanted to reconnect with Hae-jin again, so he invited his co-worker to that restaurant to have the casual talk alongside the Italian cuisine that would soon be savored by them both. Definitely, a trip down the memory lane wouldn't be that bad to spend such a short reprieve.
"Well, here we are. Back to my previous workplace. Man, I miss making those crepe cakes back then," Chester rambled on as he sat down near one of the vacant tables. "Say, have you been in this place before? Or this is your first time? Either way, you will like the food here if you want pasta and Italian desserts." He then thanked the waiter who sent the menu list to both of them so that they would pick what they would like to eat.

It was 10 A.M., two hours left before Solaris would have her lunch break, and she was still busy cooking food, though the place wasn't as packed. Two tables had been occupied so far, with the third rolling coming by a half-hour later, and she was focused on the task. The date that occurred the other day did bring a small inspiration, incorporating gelato as part of today's dessert. One thing was for sure, it was a great hit, more so with the kids. It may just be a temporary thing, but it was best to change things up a bit every once in a while. As long as the manager would allow that, of course. With the two tables being served with the appetizers and entree, she was now working on the salad for the third table. Three servings to be exact, as the couple had brought along a friend of theirs for a casual conversation.
She was done with the dressing, tossing the salad into that to coat the vegetables, and as she put them on the plates, the extra croutons were added in as a flourish, together with several shavings of cheese. Solaris then called out a waiter to serve them to the table before working on the pasta as part of the order.
