"Get your mother than," he said in a snappish tone. "We're not leaving here here alone." He turned then and began to walk out of the room. He could hear the wolves in pursuit of where Alex was going and the sooner they left the more likely they would be able to catch up. He knew that Victor would be distracted by the wolves and it would slow him down considerably.

Haven nodded then ran to get her mother, explaining what had happened. Her mother was out of the bed in a matter of minutes. Both the women made their way to Ray. "Do you know where they are currently?" Haven asked.

"For the most part yet, but specifically no," Ray responded as he urged them to the stables where the horses awaited them. "I know that the wolves will follow him since he's still affected by the curse though and that will give away most of the locations." He looked worried though, mostly because he knew that most of the wolves would be killed out of annoyance. They would stay there distances after the first two were killed but they would still pursue Victor and Alexander.

Haven nodded then sighed a little bit then followed after him, Beth did as well. When they reached the stables, Haven nodded then said, "Just lead the way."

Ray had gotten the horses out for them, they had three since he knew Alex would want to be close to someone after this encounter. He knew that Haven might also want to be close to him. "I hope you two know how to ride horses," he said with a smile. "Let's go!" He got on his horse than and began to lead them, after they'd gotten on the horse, in the direction of where Alex was being taken.

Haven and Beth nodded simaltaneously. They both loved to ride horses but had to give away most of them due to the hard times. They both mounted their horses then went after ray. Haven really hoped that Alex was going to be ok.

Ray was more determined now to catch up with Victor. He wasn't sure why he was doing this but he knew that he had to do it for Haven. There was something about how she looked when he found her that he didn't like. Maybe it was him admitting that Alex had been there first, but he couldn't let Alex get taken. "Can you hear the wolves," he asked as he looked back at them.

Haven listened for a few moments then nodded. "I can." She said and Beth shook her head. Her hearign wasn't that good anymore, then again, she was getting older. "Can you?" Haven asked Ray.

Ray just nodded in response, the path was clear because of the wolves that had started in this direction. He could almost smell them on the wind now, it helped being downwind though.

"Get your foolish wolves away from me," Victor growled at Alex as they came to a stop in a clearing. The wolves were howling occasionally and circling them, a good enough distance not be hit but enough to bother Victor and comfort Alex.

Haven nodded and kept riding as fast as she could. She needed to get to her Alex, it took him getting kidnapped for her to realize how much she really needed him. Sure, she knew she needed him before but the feeling was much stronger now.

"Why did you tell me that," Alex asked. He'd had some time to think about the tone that Haven had taken and he was regretting what he said. She could have feelings for him but that didn't necessarily mean that she would choose Ray over him. He felt weak still and he wanted to run away from this jerk. If he could only get away from him to the wolves he'd be fine. They'd be able to protect him.

Ray was pressing forward nearly as much as Haven but she passed him soon. They were close enough though that they wouldn't be separated. Once they were done with this they would find a safer place to stay, they could go to his place and gather what they needed before heading into the mountains.

Haven was really hoping they could get Alex away from Victor. Oh she really hated him right now! Not that she hadn't before... She felt awful. Why couldn't she have stopped Victor? She had magic, why the hell didn't she use them?!

"There is a spell that you can use with the image I told you that will keep Victor from coming a certain distance from you or Alex. You'll have to draw it on a piece of clothing though," Ray began shouting as they moved towards where Alex and Victor had stopped momentarily. He said something in a foreign tongue, repeating it slowly for her.

Haven listened to his words carefully and then repeated them mentally over and over. She felt a little better when she knew she had it memorized. She took a deep breath and continued forward as fast as she could go. Beth was keeping up with them well.

"When you catch up with them," Ray yelled. "Use the symbol on Alex's back and then say the words. You'll be close enough to him at that point to not be in danger and he'll want to run without even considered going back to get Alex. Ray was getting concerned about Beth now, slowing down so that his horse was at the pace of hers.

"Are you doing all right," he asked in a gentle voice.

Victor seemed to be in pain now and Alex was slowly inching away from him. Alex wasn't sure where he was going to go but he had a gut feeling he shouldn't be around this creep. He could her the wolves beckoning him in very low whines, inching forward as he inched backward.
