Hearing how much he stuttered upon seeing her was enough to make her feel embarrassed as well. Solaris waved a hand, an indication that it was all good. "It's okay. In fact, you are just among the numerous people who had dropped by the kitchen mistakenly, so yeah, we are both at fault here. By the way, my shift doesn't end until later in the afternoon, so in case you would like to have a chat with me after this, I'll be at the park. You are free to do anything else in the meantime, even if it means having to leave here," she smiled, being openly inviting. It was mainly because the young man was looking benign, no intention of harming her and he was there to enjoy the food. Unfortunately, the waiter whispered in her ear, telling her that she forgot to say her name, and she squeaked.
"Oh, and umm... My name's Solaris. I'll be going now, but again, thanks for the compliments," she spoke before having to depart back to the kitchen, leaving the male to his own devices. Another positive compliment about her work that left a smile on her face, but there was no time to waste. Not long after that, lunch rush would come by soon and she would have to get ready for that.

With the young man gone, the lunch rush started after two hours, and it went on without most hitches. But the downside was that the pastry chef ended up making 50 more servings of each flavor of panna cotta, 150 servings all in all. For her short break, she resorted to eating the chicken clubhouse sandwiches she had prepared back home, with whole grain bread used to squish the filling inside. After the break, she went on working with a steady stream of customers incoming, until her shift was over at 2 PM and she could finally leave. But before Solaris left, she was given a few servings of panna cotta, two for each flavor, on the house, as a token of thanks for her hard work. Nonetheless, she would have to handle them carefully when she was leaving the restaurant via the employee area at the back.
But as she was about to fly back to her house, however, there was the poster on one of the walls of the building next to it, indicating that today's the pet walking event at the park. Technically, Solaris' pet wasn't actually alive, but nonetheless, Theodore, the cat plushie, was something that she treasured the most. Definitely, she was excited to carry the plushie along with her later on , but first, she had to keep the dessert chilled in the fridge, hence the lift back to her house for the time being.

The fallen angel was humming a tune as she went on with her duties of cooking food for table 7 in Taste of Italy, the order being chicken penne and arugula salad. Before her shift began, there was the event announcement plastered on one of the walls of the buildings situated within Uptown Soleil, taking place in Pezzle's. But as much as she wanted to join, her job was her utmost priority. Maybe Hikaru would like to give it a shot, but it would depend if she would be also busy in Beluga. All Solaris could do was to wish her good luck in case the brunette would definitely participate and have fun; while the violinist was okay with her friend being busy and all, Hikaru would definitely have to loosen up a bit more.
The food was done and she called out one of the waiters to serve the finished food to table 7. The panna cotta was still available as the dessert for today, but they were not available for serving yet since the single portions were still setting in the freezer. The waiter would have to state that the dessert would still not be available after an hour in case customers would like to order it at this time. Definitely a bummer, but food does take time and it was up to them on whether to refuse or wait even more.
There, one ticket down, and there was another one coming from Table 6, with the same order. That would mean one thing; she would have to keep up the pace.

Parking the hulking truck close to the front door, Oliver hopped out once turning the ignition off. Grabbing his wallet from the center consol, he slipped it into his back pocket and shoved his keys into his front. Squinting his hazel eyes a bit as they were bombarded by rain, he jogged up to the front door and slipped inside the restaurant. He didn't mind the rain, but just like anyone else, he got uncomfortable when he wore wet clothes. He knew how to withstand it because of his military training, but that didn't mean he liked it. Once inside, he patred himself down so the water would dry a bit quicker while in the warm establishment. With a contented sigh at feeling the warmth of the heater against what parts of his skin were still bare, Oliver looked around the italian themed restaurant to get a quick layout. As he stood there, the host came up to him asking if he was ready to be seated. Giving the young man an amused shake of his head, he informed him of being the new manager and asked to be directed to his office. With a bit of a flustered response at speaking to his new boss like a customer, he quickly replied with attempting to show him to the back for employees and the office. Taking one more quick look around, Oliver didn't see another host up front and told him to just point in the general direction and he would find it.
Finding the office, he opened the door and took a quick seat in the swivel chair that sat behind the desk. A deep exhale escaped his lips as he felt a bit of relief from the pressure on his back. Sure it had been a long while since his surgery and actual recovery, but he still felt residual pain and uncomfortableness from it. Some days hurt more than others. On cold days, like today, his spine ached and felt stiff. Stretching out in the chair, Oliver heard a small pop before straightening himself and booting up his computer. He needed to establish himself in the office before making rounds on the floor. The former manager had everything set up so the crew knew what to do until her arrived, but new management meant things could change; like work hours. He had never managed a restaurant before, but given all the values instilled in him from the Marines, he should be able to pick things up rather quickly. At least, that was his hope. Spinning in his chair, he looked through the shelves and pulled down the binder containing the work schedule and hours of all employees. It was a slow day and there weren't many customers or employees today. He would need to add all the numbers in his phone so he could call on them, should he need them.
Oliver spent a rather large amount of time in the back getting himself familiar with the management program on the computer and files, but now it was time to walk the floor. He wasn't wearing a customary uniform for the staff, but as the manager he needed to look professional and stand out from the rest of his crew. Meeting some of the staff as he walked around, he found out the orders of each customer currently in store and decided on helping out a bit. A hands on aproach was a good strategy for any business, in his opinion. Plus, he could chit chat with customers and get an idea of the area he had just moved to. Grabbing a clean glass, he filled it with a soda a customer ordered and walked it out to said customer. "Here you are sir," he said as he set the cold glass in front of the young man. He couldn't have been very old, maybe in his twenties but clearly well off enough to afford the restaurant. Taste of Italy was upscale and not at all cheap, but any type of person was able to treat themselves shoukd they want. "Anything else I can get you while you wait?" he asked polietly.

Having taken notice to the fact that there was only one waiter Ozwald pulled his phone out of his pocket, scrolling through some website idly to help past the time. He really should ask for the numbers of two of his companions sometime soon. Randomly running into them could get quite annoying and boring after a while. Plus having someone to talk to is a rather nice thought. He drank down the rest of his water, pushing the cup aside as he kept his attention glued to the screen, that is until he heard an unfamiliar voice speak up beside him. His eyes slowly looked up at the figure of a man who looked quite a bit older than him. He was also quick to notice that the man didn't wear any kind of uniform like the waiter he had seen earlier so he was a bit curious and suspicious. Since he had moved here there were no problems but almost anyone can be some kind of threat. Of course that might've just been the paranoia and he knew there was no way that anyone he had known in the past had tracked him down.
Shaking off that line of thinking, he gave a curt nod and took a sip of his soda. When nothing happened he felt relieved and rather silly, of course the man hadn't done anything to his drink. It was times like these when he was glad that no one around was a mind reader. Now that he was thinking about it since this guy wasn't dressed to look the part of a server, then that left the possibility of him having some other job within the establish meant. When asked if there was anything else he wanted, Oz lightly tapped his cheek. "Hmm well I'll get a salad while I wait for my meal, if you don't mind of course. Ranch dressing on the side." he said, giving a small nervous smile, still feeling bad that he had silently suspected him of wrongdoing. He wasn't a big fan of salads but they could be good especially when hungry. That and whatever he didn't finish he was going to put into a take out container and stick it in his fridge. Maybe one of these days he should pick up a cookbook and actually learn to make his own meals.

Smiling brightly as she and Kos headed towards the restaurant, Kaylee closed her eyes and tilted her head back a little as she walked. Letting out a happy sigh as the sun's rays warmed her face. "I missed the sun!" She said, opening her eyes to glance at her husband while also squeezing his hand. Kaylee had never been a fan of storms and adding in Kos' situation with water, the thought of flash floods terrified her. Now that was thankfully over and things were looking bright and sunny again! Unfortunately it was still storming during her birthday, so it wasn't like the two of them could really go out and celebrate. Kaylee wasn't too bummed though, she was just happy to be at home with Kos.. and Mira of course! Now that the weather was nice again, Kaylee had suggested that maybe they go out for lunch now as a late celebration sort of thing.
When they reached the restaurant, Kaylee asked for a table for two. Almost instantly, she could smell the food and her stomach let out a loud growl. Blushing a little, Kaylee shook her head a little before taking her seat. Smiling at the waitress when the woman handed her a menu, Kaylee glanced over the drink choices. "Could I start off with some water, please." She asked before glancing at the menu again. There were so many good choices!
