"I said no Shadow moves," he repeated, but Grace gave him a glare that he hadn't thought possible from a Ralts. For some reason, the sight sent shivers down his spine, but he gave no indication of it. Instead, he tapped a button on his SNAG, changing the scene from a target range to a battlefield. "Alright, I promised ye'd battle, so here ye go," he said, tapping another button. A Riolu materialized on his side of the battlefield, and Grace immediately fired off a Confusion, which Brian directed the AI Riolu to dodge.

Grace let out a slight growl as her attack missed, though as soon as her opponent stopped moving, she fired off a Dazzling Gleam at it. This prompted the Riolu to use Protect, preventing it from taking any damage, which further irritated Grace. Brian looked at Grace as the shiny Ralts fired off another Confusion. "Think, Grace!" he called. "Ye can't just blunder yer way through this. Predict where yer opponent will be and attack there." Of course, Grace wasn't listening anymore, getting angrier that her opponent kept dodging her attacks.

After the fifth dodge on Riolu's part, Grace's patience was up. She let out a scream of frustration and rushed forward, the familiar shadowy aura of Shadow Rush enveloping her. Brian sighed at the sight; at this rate, Grace was never going to learn that she couldn't just use brute force, or in her case, psychic force, to win her battles, but at the same time, he knew that until the Shadow Virus was purged from her system, she couldn't do much critical thinking in terms of battling. Which was why she was currently using her Shadow move instead of a normal attack.

The Shadow Rush made contact with the Riolu, who flew backward to land hard on the ground. Grace stopped the Shadow Rush and fired off a Confusion on the Fighting-type, who collapsed and disappeared, leaving Grace panting. Using Shadow Rush, while super-effective against non-Shadow Pokemon, still took a lot out of her, especially as the Ralts line wasn't exactly known for physical attacks. From what he could tell, it worked similar to Volt Tackle, in that the user was damaged in the execution of the move, as well. Grace had used quite a bit of energy with her normal attacks, so he knew she was starting to tire. "Alright, Grace, that's enough for today," he said. "Let's get ye healed up, and we'll come back another time." Having said this, he deactivated the battlefield scene, letting the room return to normal, then recalled Grace to her Pokeball and walked out.

Lykas moved quickly, stopping by his room for a moment to grab a particular Pokeball. He'd just left Nebu's shop with a few items that he'd been needing to make use of for quite a while now. With the three items in hand and the Pokeball he needed, he headed straight to the Super Training Room. Someone he didn't recognize was in there when he arrived but he was in no mood for some random NPC to block his path to purifying one of his oldest partners who had spent entirely too long ravaged by the Shadow Virus at this point and the hybrid quickly and very bodily threw the rando out of the room and locked the door behind himself.

Approaching the control console, he set a few settings before choosing the training session, plugging a Vivid Scent each into two of the dispensers in the room before he got started. "Hm? What's this?" He asked himself, noticing a new setting on the console "Hisui environments? Sounds like someone's making some kind of RPG settings in the training room for fun. Don't see the harm in it so why not?" He said to himself, selecting a marshland environment labeled "Crimson Mirelands".

As the Vivid Scent began to emanate into the room, he inhaled deeply to calm himself and steel his nerved before tossing the Pokeball in his hand into the air and watching as the red light from within manifested into the Pokemon he was here to work with.

"Dewwwwww oooooooottt!" Chinami cried as she emerged, her eyes narrowed as the virus pushed her into a rage almost immediately.

"~/~! The virus has advanced even more!" Lykas cursed, though he could feel the rage and the vile aura emanating from his partner rapidly diminishing as she, too, breathed in the vaccine-infused incense that was thickening in the air more and more by the moment.

"Dew!" Chinami exclaimed, dashing toward Lykas as she pulled a Scalchop from her obi, slashing at him with a watery fan tinted with black. Assuming it was just the Shadow Virus infusing her attack, Lykas used Acid Armor to make the attack p[a** through him. "Gah!" He fell backward, viscous water gushing from the new wound on his right arm.

"Was that... Night Slash?!" He asked, realizing that black tint had been Dark-type energy. "Since when can you use that?"

"Dew dewott!"

Pulling a length of cloth from his pocket, Lykas quickly bandaged his arm, ducking and dodging as Chinami attempted to cut him again. "I'm sorry!" He apologized as he secured the bandage at last. "I never meant to let this go on for so long. He lost his balance and fell into a patch of swamp muck, having failed to notice the hologram technology in the room had already created the hyper-realistic environment the team often used for their training. This was certainly an environment, one he wasn't familiar with in the slightest.

"Wott! Dew dewott ott dwot!" Chinami snapped back, growling.

"I know! I know. I have no acceptable excuse." Lykas replied, holding his wounded arm. He could feel the shadow aura beginning to wane at last, the Vivid Scents he'd use creating a thick mist over the illusory marshland by this point.

Lykas took a deep breath and, forming the image of a snowflake in his mind, he exhaled a powerful gust filled with ice crystals, aiming to slow Chinami's reaction speed. The Dewott raised an arm to defend her face for a moment, charging energy into her free paw as she grabbed her second scalchop, Flinging it at Lykas just before he began to move. Cutting off his Icy Wind at the last second, Lykas ducked under the incoming scalchop, snatching it out of the air with one of his tentacles and wincing in pain as the Dark energy infused into it stung him painfully. Pulling the inoculation gun from his pocket and installing the vaccine vial in one fluid motion, he grabbed onto Chinami and wound his tentacles around her, applying a tight squeeze via Wring Out. With the Water-type restrained and unable to escape for the moment, he injected her with the vaccine, releasing her a moment later and jumping back to give her some space.

It took a few moments after release for him to feel the difference but the shadowy aura that had engulfed his partner so long ago began to wane at last. Chinami breathed heavily for a few minutes after Lykas released her with the hybrid sitting and watching carefully, looking for signs that the vaccine had done it's job already. Her heart was beating fast when he'd injected her and after that squeeze had worked to exhaust her, it was pumping even harder. The vaccine should be coursing through her at the maximum potential speed at this point.

"Dew... wott?" She finally asked, her voice softer than it had been in ages.

"Yeah..." Lykas replied just as softly, his look softening as he did. He could feel the shadow virus' hold break at last, the viral aura completely dissipating as he sat with her. "I'm so sorry I left you in that state for so long." He told her, pulling her to him and giving her a big hug, tears welling up in the corners of both their eyes.

Monique carried Kaha, her little Galarian Zigzagoon, into the Training Room.

"Obstacle course, set." A large obstacle course appeared with five segments. There was a zig-zag, a straight line, a hurdles set, an obstacle-type course, and a figure-eight loop that crossed over itself.

I took Kaha and set her down in the first area, a zig-zag. "Go! Go go go!" Kaha was happy to zig and zag through the course. After all, that's what its body knew what to do best. Perhaps boosted by her corrupted chi, she bounded through it recklessly yet expertly, emerging at the other end.

I picked up Kaha at the exit and set her into the second portion of the course. It was tight and narrow, deliberately so to force the Zigzagoon to not zag.

Kaha was not happy. It tried to zag in its normal way and instead came back and Headbutted me in frustration. I was lucky it wasn't a Shadow Rush.

"Bad Kaha. Go back in." I nudged the Pokémon back in and made sure to close the little gate behind it so it could only move forward. I stood at the end, holding a Berry aloft to lure it over. "Come on! Run straight!"

The Zigzagoon complied for once, building up a head of speed that turned into a Shadow Blitz of me at the end. Zigzagoon—Shadow Meter—3. Two down, three to go.

Kaha hopped, having worked up an eagerness to exercise thanks to its chi and the first two legs of the obstacle course.

On its first try, Kaha did not understand how to go through the hurdles. It headbutted one and ran into another.

"Over the hurdles!" I mimicked a leap with my hands.

Kaha went back to the start and began running, slightly awkwardly since it had to go straight.

"Aaaand...jump!" I called for Kaha to leap as it approached the hurdles instead of going through or attacking them. It finally seemed to understand and made its way through the course, leaping over three hurdles without zagging. As I went to carry it, it Licked me, though I somehow managed to avoid being paralyzed. The feeling was a little odd, I had to admit.

The obstacle course featured, appropriately, holograms of Obstagoon, which moved and provided more dynamic opposition than the hurdles.

The first one seemed to scare Kaha, who jumped and Shadow Blitzed me. The feeling of vile chi clung to me for a few moments. Zigzagoon—Shadow Meter—6. I stood at the end, again with a Berry, encouraging the little Pokémon. "They're just holograms! They can't hurt you!"

It took a few tries to outsmart some of the Obstagoon, but Kaha bounded her way to the end. I noticed she wasn't always zig-zagging, even when she had the option of doing so.

The last component of the course was a figure-eight loop.

"This is it, one last one for today!" I released it into the loop and let it go. "Go around five times!"

Kaha at first tried to zigzag, its instinctual go. One loop of the figure-8 was narrower, preventing Kaha from doing anything but running straight ahead. I clapped and cheered, hoping that it would feel the love and support and attention. Perhaps that'd help its heart heal.

Kaha squealed happily, and a bit tiredly, after running through the loop seven times, so quickly I couldn't snatch it from the course. I smiled at her. I could feel her improving, becoming more of a normal Dark-type.

Safely inside the STR, I let out my other two Shadow Pokémon and took almost all my Scents out from the bag. I'd picked up enough Scents to clear the deck and purify both Porygon and Scyther.

Reaching deeper, I pulled out two Shadow Vaccines for Porygon and Scyther, plus a Black Augurite, watching as the newly purified Scyther blossomed into a Kleavor.

It felt good to purify two Pokémon. I'd leave Kaha for another time to save my cents.

(I used five Vivid Scents, one Excite Scent, and one Joy Scent, plus my Black Augurite.)

Sub would head on down to the Super Training Room with his newly acquired Galarian Zigzagoon, formerly owned by Monique. He already had this version of Zigzagoon in the form of Israfel but he couldn't resist saying no to the cute little Dark-type, furthermore he figured he could evolve this one and keep Israfel looking tiny and cute! To him it was a win-win.

"Alright girl, let's say high to each other." Sub said as he tapped the button on the ball, the Galarian Zigzagoon appearing from within, looking slightly confused and up at Sub. "I'm you're new trainer, girl. Don't worry, we're gonna have a lot of fun." He said, the Shadow Pokemon growling at him as she took a defensive posture. "First thing is first..." He said, pulling out two Vivid Scents and spraying the aerosols at the Zigzagoon, the calming scents causing the Shadow Zigzagoon to stop growling and wag its tail happily, for now.

"Good, now while you're distracted..." Sub said as he tapped away on the panel in the STR and generated a hard-light hologram of a Yamper, the surrounding environment turning into an open grassy field. In the wild Galarian Zigzagoon share the same environment as Yamper and like to chase the dogs and harass them, normally in groups but this was a Shadow Pokemon so it wouldn't concern itself with teamwork. "Bet you can't catch that dog." He said, pointing at the Yamper. The Zigzagoon would immediately growl at it and begin to run at it.

The fake Yamper would bark before running into some tall grass, the Zigzagoon leaping into the grass after it, sniffing the ground in vain as it tried to locate the Yamper. It was time to train this girl and hopefully purify her.

The Shadow Zigzagoon would continue to zig and zag through the grass, trying to find the Yamper, the dog barking all the while, taunting the tiny racoon Pokemon. The Yamper was faster but at one turn Zigzagoon got wise to where it was going and spun around deftly on its hind legs and took a flying leap at the Yamper, Tackling it to the ground, the two rolling out of the tall grass for Sub to now witness.

"There you go girl! Good job!" Sub cheered for his new Pokemon as it bit away at the hologram Yamper.

The program wouldn't allow Zigzagoon to win that easily, as training was the goal here, and the Yamper would zap the Zigzagoon on top of it as it utilized Spark, its entire body crackling with energy. The Spark would give Zigzagoon a good shock, causing it to cease biting the Yamper, the AI Pokemon managing to slip away and run back into the tall grass. Once the pain of being shock subsided the Shadow Pokemon would look around confused before growling at Sub again.

"I didn't do it! The dog did! It went that way!" He instructed the Pokemon, pointing at the tall grass. Shaking off the fog of its Shadowfication the Zigzagoon would realize what its new trainer was telling it and now began to growl at the tall grass before it finally ran back in, aiming to find that meddlesome hologram again and give it a worse bite than before.

Again Zigzagoon would chase after Yamper, this time the Yamper running faster and in a straight line, really making it hard for Zigzagoon who had the compulsion to zig and zag, of course. At one point the Shadow Pokemon would get fairly close to the Yamper, at a point where the tall grass thinned out and she could see her target. However the problem was still it was running in a straight line and it took everything within Zigzagoon to not zig. Feeling it was about to zag uncontrollable the Shadow Pokemon got the terrible idea to launch itself, with a Shadow Rush.

"Ziiig!" Shouted the Zigzagoon as Shadow energy swell around its body, the Shadow Pokemon then proceeding to launch itself off the ground straight towards the Yamper, the Shadow energy swelling around it allowing itself to put a lot of power behind its leap plus there was no way she could zig nor zag while in the air thus getting around that problem as well.

Ramming into the Yamper in a shadowy tackle the two small Pokemon would roll around on the ground, again out of the tall grass for Sub to see. The two would both bite and claw at each other, though the Shadow Zigzagoon far more aggressive then before as the Shadow energy still swelled within it. Sub really didn't want her to go into Hyper Mode so needed to snap her out of it for right now.

"Zigzagoon! Girl! Stop!" Sub cried out, the Zigzagoon becoming distracted by Sub's pleas as she looked towards him and snarled. In that moment the Yamper would get away and flee into the grass again. This time however the Zigzagoon noted it fled and immediately gave chase, zigging and zagging into the grass. "Man...she can be nasty..." Sub commented to himself.

Like before the same thing happened, Shadow Zigzagoon chased the Yamper throughout the tall grass, each time the Yamper becoming more and more of a challenge to catch up to. At this point the Yamper program had become aware of the Galarian Zigzagoon's hunting methods and now was easily avoiding it, this really displeased his new Pokemon. "Come on girl, you need to calm down and focus. It's the only way you'll catch it again." He pleaded with the tiny racoon Pokemon, however the Shadow Zigzagoon did not listen and continued to zig and zag in vain. The only saving grace was due to being a Shadow Pokemon she had plenty of energy to spend.

At one point the Yamper would this time come flying out of the grass and and Tackle the Zigzagoon, the Shadow Pokemon sent rolling backwards as the Yamper fled immediately after, barking as if to mock the 'predator'. This really angered the Shadow Pokemon as it savagely barked at the tall grass it disappeared into, Shadow energy building up around it. "Oh no...don't do it girl! Just calm down!" Sub cried out to his Pokemon but again she did not listen.

With Shadow energy gathered around its body the Shadow Zigzagoon would rush into the tall grass with another Shadow Rush, aimed at where she believed the Yamper to be. Chunks of grass would fly up into the air as she ran through however before long the Zigzagoon would appear stumbling out of the grass at the other end, having missed her target. Unable to come to a full stop the Zigzagoon would trip and roll, landing on its back, angrier than ever.

"Zig zag zag!" It barked angry as she rolled back onto her feet. The Shadow virus was really clouding her judgement now. "Calm down girl, please! I'll help you!" Sub called out again.

In that moment Sub 'reached out' to the Galarian Zigzagoon, his Dark chi expanding outward and touching the Shadow Pokemon. As he spiritual touched his Pokemon the Shadow Zigzagoon would stop growling and begin to look around confused, as if it felt Sub's touch but was unsure of where it was coming from. Sub would immediately recognize what he was doing, he was channeling again, and without an artifact. He was only aware of this since Reno pointed out to him he could still channel in spite of not having his artifact anymore. While this befuddled, and slightly concerned, Sub he didn't question it for now.

"It's me girl! It's me!" He reassured the Pokemon who looked at him, growling a bit as she stared at him. "I'm just trying to help you girl! I know you really want to beat that thing but using Shadow moves won't help, you'll just get angrier and angrier and not know what you're doing anymore. If you just listen to me I'm sure we can beat it...together." The Dark One implored the Pokemon, his chi washing over the Zigzagoon in a dark embrace. Her growling stopped and she now gave him her undivided attention.

"Good...now then, jump into the grass, right over there, and use Baby-Doll Eyes. I know you can do it." He instructed his new Zigzagoon and to his surprise she listened! Or did she? Maybe he was the one in con-...nah.

With a bark the Zigzagoon would leap into the grass where instructed and to her and Yamper's surprise she was now right in front of the dog, staring it down. Before it could get away Fairy energy welled up in her eyes causing them to appear much bigger and baby-like, captivating the Yamper and causing it to lose its will to fight and briefly made it stay still.

"Now! Use Headbutt!" Sub called out to his Pokemon, this was her chance.

With a bark the Shadow Zigzagoon would launch itself off the ground at the Yamper, head first and this time without Shadow energy. The Zigzagoon would make direct contact with the Yamper, dealing a critical hit as she sent it flying and eventually slamming into the unseen wall, shattering the dog and causing the entire hologram to disappear. Now standing in the regularly STR Sub smiled and cheered for his Pokemon.

"You did it girl! Great job!" He complimented her only to see the Zigzagoon lay down, curl up, and go to sleep. She was exhausted after all that. "Rest up girl, you deserve it." He told the Pokemon, withdrawing her. "Let's go get you a vaccine and cure you...Houri." He said, giving her a name. With that the Dark One exited the STR.

...what did he do back there anyways? It was a thought he would not have for fun.

[Note: I hadn't been keeping up with rewards for myself lately, particularly Exp Candy besides the equivalent of 18 Evo Points in candies I did have in my profile. As such I'm spending all those on Sub's female and traded G-Zigagoon and going to make three posts with him training it and call it all even and evolve it.]

Sub was back in the training room with Houri the Galarian Zigzagoon, deciding that just purifying her wasn't enough, that now the next step in her training was to get her to evolve. Before arrival he fed her some treats, Exp Candies. Sure, some trainers saw that was the cheap and easy route in training a Pokemon but the way Sub saw it was Houri missed out on a lot of experience while being Shadowfied and this was his way of getting her back on track to where she needs to be as a Pokemon of the Dark One. Furthermore he received no complaints from Houri who readily munched on the tasty candies.

"So, ready for another training session, Houri? This time we're going to try and work on some of your other moves, get you ready for becoming a Linoone. Think you can handle it girl?" He asked the Pokemon, the excitable and happy racoon Pokemon spinning around in circles a few times to indicate to her trainer that yes, she was raring to go. It was nice to see her like this, no longer plagued by the Shadow virus. "Good, love to see it." Sub said before he walked over to the console of the STR and began to tap away at the screen.

Before they knew it their surroundings had changed, finding themselves standing on a cliff with several targets floating in the air just off the edge, the gap between the cliff and the targets wide enough to dissuade Houri from jumping at the targets, even though in this virtual setting there was no risk of Houri actually falling but she didn't need to know that. "Okay, Houri, we're going to practice Pin Missile. When you evolve you won't be able to learn it so it's now or never. See the targets? I want you to launch your fur at them by using Pin Missile. The idea is to-" Sub would spend some time explaining the concept of Pin Missile to Houri, having done his own research on the best way to guide a Pokemon into using a move, something he had a lot of experience in.

"Got it girl?" He asked the Pokemon. She seemed unsure of herself but gave a slight nod before turning to the targets. "Alright, like I explained, focus energy into your back as you stand your fur on ends and will them to launch! Now go! Use Pin Missle!" Sub commanded.

With a cry Houri's fur would begin to glow white as it stood on end making herself look bigger. With a grunt she would attempt to launch the fur but instead of a Pin Missile all she managed was a Tackle, that is the beginning stages of one as she simply empowered herself in preparation of impact were she to be running. Sub quickly noted what she did and went to reassure as she dropped the charge. "It's okay, you weren't going to get it the first time. Let's try once more..."
