My boyfriend and I are taking a break from one another and he moved out of our place. We're trying to make it work.

He asked me today if I wanted to go to Target since we both had gift cards to spend. I said ok, so we went.

While we were there it was pretty awkward but I was trying to be polite.



He has a certain way of talking about himself that makes me want to punch him. It's condescending almost. Like he is super ******** awesome and he wants me and other people to know it.

Even with simple s**t, like his job at Home Depot.


Example:

When we were in line to pay for our s**t, the cashier was annoyed because her register was glitching or something. She kept apologizing to us and the growing line behind us, but we were cool with it.
Then my boyfriend says, "Yeah it's no big deal. I'm a manager at Home Depot and this stuff happens. I know what you're going through."

I wish I could describe the tone he used. He might as well have said, "Don't worry, I'm a MANAGER at HOME DEPOT and I am an AWESOME person because I am a MANAGER at HOME DEPOT. YEAH THAT'S WHERE I WORK."

Well, I started laughing at him, and then he was annoyed because I was laughing at him. I told him he always does this s**t and it's dumb, and he acted like he didn't know what I was talking about.

So I turned to the woman in line behind us and practically shouted at her, "DON'T WORRY, THE SITUATION IS UNDER CONTROL. THIS GUY WORKS AT HOME DEPOT. HE KNOWS HOW TO WORK A CASH REGISTER."

The woman kinda smiled at me and giggled a bit, so I leaned out of line and announced to everyone else in line, "NO NEED TO PANIC. THE GUY NEXT TO ME WORKS AT HOME DEPOT. HE'S A MANAGER THERE. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT A THING."

People laughed.
My boyfriend was ******** mortified.



He cut our day short because I'm a "total d**k" and now I'm here. Alone. With new clothes and stuff.
So it's all good.
