He smiled broadly back, however his eyes didn't smile with him. It was like a cloud, hiding his true expression. He let go of her hand and turned to walk towards north.
"Is this direction all right to you? I have a hunch of the forest ending here...The trees are much fewer"
There really was a lot fewer trees. They saw that the light increased too.

its fine *said in almost a dreamy voice. she still couldnt get those images out of her head. she wanted to know more about this dark character. he seemed so familliar, yet so foreign. why, why did she concentrate on his image?*

They exited the forest, now coming to a road...sleepy, old road. Some horses hoof prints were pressed on it and it was rather muddy.
No other people walked along it.
