It was a rather dank day. It had been all week it seemed. Gray overcast sky and the smell of rain hanging in the air. The wet season was close. He didn't doubt that. Soon the herds would be on the move.
He shook his his brown mane and stopped. He could find shelter but this wasn't going to be a terrible storm from what he could sense. Just a bit of rain. That never killed anyone... well not that he'd met.
Chinedu stepped up higher on the stone jutting out of the ground and continued to survey, his eyes squinted due to the wind blowing his mane in his eyes.
Now what was that? Something moving in the distance caught his attention. From what he could tell it was a lion but it was too far to tell. Well best to go to see. He jumped from his perch and made his way over in a friendly trotting manner.

[14:16] CutmeCoffee: White and gray stood out from their surroundings, causing him to feel like he was a moving target for everyone. Caideiseach had wandered from his family to enjoy some alone time for once. The little juvi sat there on a rock for a moment, looking up to the sky that nearly matched his colors. He prayed the rain would fall soon enough, to soak him and save him from this blasted heat.
The little boy was panting harshly, like he'd been running, only he hadn't. The humidity was sticking to him, causing his fur to become drenched in an uncomfortable wetness that mixed with the heat rising from his skin. Tangerine colored eyes turned when he heard something rustling around and he arched a brow at that.
Staying still, Caide watched and waited for whatever it was to come out. He prayed it wasn't another lion. He didn't know anything about fighting, nor did he want to learn this young. "Craaaap," he murmured softly, finally shifting to move behind the rock. He wasn't hidden completely, his front paws and tail stood out even though he tried to curl up as tiny as possible.
[14:19] hieirocks16: Chinedu let out a soft smile as he saw the little feet poking form behind the rock. The adult had a thin build made for speed but he wasn't lacking in muscles. He'd been trained by a cheetah, a wild dog, a hyena, and his own father in anything they could teach him. It was hard and it certainly paid off. He was no push over and though he didn't know it, he was quite intimidating. He looked up at the sky and flicked his tail. A storm was no place for a child. That was for sure. "Excuse me..." He voiced calmly and quietly as he approached the rock. "You shouldn't be under there hun. It won't protect you from the rain."
He chuckled to himself as he sat down and waited for him to come out. Was he frightened of something? Or was he trying to avoid the rain. He was sure he'd just seen him standing a moment ago.
[14:23] CutmeCoffee: Those tangerine eyes peeked over the rock at the other lion and then blinked and ducked again. He pulled his tail in as close as he could and flattened his ears behind his head before sighing. Come on, Caide.... it''s just.... a lion.. Just what he'd been hoping to avoid.
With a little huff, the juvi jumped back on the rock and stared at the lion, clearly nervous and scared. "..... Uhm...." He murmured softly, looking up at the gray sky. "I... I knew that. It's not like... I'm stupid!" He tried to defend himself, voice wobbling. What kind of lion called someone else hon?

[14:29] hieirocks16: The male just rose one of his eyebrows as he appeared. His red eyes were full of humor and curiosity. What a strange cub. Why was he so afraid? He decided to wait it out. He'd been taught patience and he had enough of it to go around. So he resigned himself to sit until he decided to come out. After all he wouldn't bite.
He smiled when the kid decided to show himself up. "Well you're obviously not stupid, hun. You have very intelligent eyes. I'd say you're extremely smart." He complimented standing once again to his full height. "But even so a rock isn't the best place to hide." He said with a wink. "So why were you hiding then if it wasn't the rain?" |
