I don't see any problem with what she-he was wearing. I, also, wouldn't mind if my children were to see it. As it has been mentioned there are much worse things they see everyday. People walking around with their asses hanging out of their shorts, even in schools this happens.
Yes, maybe they could both wear chains but hook them to themselvs, that could also symbolize something. But if they feel strongly on how they want to express themselves let them. The bus system is there to transport everyone not cetain people. If you get on the bus it's at your own risk. Maybe they could have that put in words so people like that could ride freely? None the less they should be able to ride the bus.

Isn't the bus company's duty to serve the public interest... it isn't in the public interest to witness that sort of thing and expose small children to it.

Yet it's in the intrest to expose much worse to teh children? what other kinds of things were most likely on the bus that are "distasteful"?
I did child care for 2 years and thats the kind of thing a child will copy when with other children. They're more likely to pick up on unusual things that they don't see everyday such as a man leading a lady round on a chain. I don't think giving a kid the idea to put a rope around a friend's neck is a good thing.
There probably was more distasteful things happening so why add to it?

Another point is, buses have morons on. He probably asked them to remove the chain so they wouldn't get kicked off on by chavs and other idiots.

My dad was a bus driver, a kindergardener came to him and told him about sex..if children know about that kind of stuff taht young (I have had many know about it..I babysitted since I was 11) Then that is no different.

Not all kids are like that, very few are.
I have nieces, cousins, friends with kids who are under 6 and they dont know what the dynamics of sex are, just basics and thats all they need to know until they are older. Not because they're sheltered because where I live it's just innapropriate and some parents dont want to discuss sex until the kids are older so why should some teenagers on a bus force them to when their kids ask questions?

Everywhere I have been, and almost everywhere you turn..even on the television, sex is there, if not there are people exposing tehir bodies, younger kids knwo a lot more then they let on sometimes. Schools are now teaching sex ed at younger ages to children. It's part of what everyone sees everyday. This should be nothing our of the norm anyhow.

expose? my god, i dont see anything wrong with it. Childern are going to learn eventually, now how should it be done? by the tv or with the parents nearby iin hopes that they can answer any questions the child may have. Last time i check the tv was more of a problem than this. I think its cool.

I, however, never stated that it was ever ok, just as sluts on teh streets are not ok, I won't say that it is. But there is much worse things the children are exposed to.
exactly, kids are exposed to more s**t than people think. trust me, when a kid thats about five is comming up to me and asking if I have this is the new s**t by Marlyn Manson and can he listen to it. (no offnse to manson he does rock though morals are a little odd). but that what im saying I agree that kids are exposed to far worst than a bloody collar.

edit this is exposure this was on mtv music awards please do not click link if you are easly affronted by images

So your complaining that when the kids are exposed to sexualized behavior in the mainstream, that its highly different to when they are exposed to it through alt. culture? Isn't that more then a little hypocritical.

If he wanted to get on that bus, he would've taken that leash off of her.
It is a safety concern but as far as image goes, it should be taken upon the parent to consult with their child about appropriate dress or other possible negatives they might witness in their vulnerable years.

No, what Im saying is its better than what they see everyday on the tv, plus a child that wouldnt possibly understand this would most likely be on the bus with thier parents so that they may have a oppurtunity to explain it to the child. If your saying thier too young, then might as well say they cant watch tv either. cause I can promise you they have seen far worse. Againd I go back to my link, would you rather a child saw something like that or would you rather saw somehting that doe ssymbolize trust to some degree.

The article said this guy does EVERYTHING for his fiancee? That's PATHETIC.

Rofl, what would happen if they broke up? She'd just die because no one would feed her.

Bahaha.

Anyway, regarding the article: I can see how they'd be offended. The firm's statement seems like a thin reason. Honestly, how often would the bus have to break sharply? And in that window of possibilities, how often would the lead actually pose a threat? But the bus firm can't take any risks for anyone. So the bus driver was right to make them get off. It probably would have behooved him to ask them to simply remove the lead first, and in the event they didn't comply, then ask them to leave. This could have potentially alleviated any accusations of discrimination. The driver, however, is human, and his goal to keep the other passengers safe was more than likely mingling with his discomfort at their unorthodox manner of displaying trust and love.

In any case, I think it's completely retarded to display things like that in public. Whatever they say, it's for shock value. Just wanting to get a rise out of others.

Yes and how many children do you know that watch the MTV awards, you know what with them being shown after the watershed and all? If I recall MTV's target audience isn't even small children its older teens and young adults. Your point is rather moot.

I don't think he's particulary saying just MTV, as many T.V. shows have this kind of things in it..if he was then you are right MTV doesn't target young children. However, children see things when their parents watch T.V. all the time, or they maybe get ahold of teh remote and end up watching something they shouldn't. Either way children see it, and I wouldn't just stick to that being the only way children are exposed, as they are exposed to it many other ways.

*Shrugs* You do know most children are capable of distinguishing that whats on TV isn't whats in reality, its only a few, who often have a mental condition that make that distinction, you might want to expose your children to people walking around one holding the other with a leash. Because I certainly wouldn't, how do you explain to a small child that these two people who are already dressed in an outlandish manner, are displaying the nature of their sexual relationship to the world?

You can argue the point all you want, but the fact is, common sense would dictate that they should have taken the lead off... you can blame the bus driver all you want, but in the end, its their lack of common sense that promoted this situation. Just another example of this horrendous victim complex goth culture has developed in place of common sense.

As your asks questions, then simply tell them it's how they trust eachother. Simple, easy, and not letting them know it has anything to do with sex. No one is blaming anyone. i can see both points of views. You could tell the child it's like why mothers and father wear rings, they just wear that instead. Explain that it's their form of trust. You don't have to let your child know it's of sex.

No, they never should have to take the lead off if thats what they wish to do, let them have their way, they're going to fight for it anyway. I never blamed them nor the bus driver, never said I believedd in what they happen to be doing. But they want to, they are going to whether the public likes it or not. It's taht simple fact taht the kids are going to be exposed to it anyways.

In all honesty, how often do you think children are exposed to sexual fetishes such as this?

Like Rellik said, this has to do with common sense, and most people who have such a fetish are smart enough to know when to parade such things.

As the saying goes "there is a time and a place for everything."

This is just one of those occurrences where people who belong to a group that is criticized in the media feel the need to make a stink about something. Instead of accepting that what they were displaying was inappropriate for a public place and removing the lead, they felt the need to bring it to the media and b***h about it.

This is nothing they're going to "win" because, again, how often does this seriously occur?

It's petty.
