::Alarice wandered around the castle grounds, trying to find a place that she felt she belonged too. She found this place at some ancient ruins. Huge stone walls and steps surrounded a huge area, encompassing over ten kilometres. She smiled and sat among the stairs. She felt comfortable in the dark and shelter that the huge old and ancient oak and maple trees provided. She smiled to herself again and began to sing quietly to herself, as she plaited a small strand of hair::

Kai walked out of the castle and had been wondering around on the castle grounds, waiting for his overseer to arrive. He inhaled deeply and was slow to exhale. His mind was very silent, as it was normally. There was an emptyness that he never knew was there, so it never really bothered him.

The weather didn't concern him, he could really careless.

He took a moment to pick up a single leaf that had caught his attention. That other woman he spoke to earlier had used a leaf to transport herself. He mused slightly over the type of magic it was. And then he allowed the wind to recapture the leaf, stealing it from the warmth of his hand.

Gravel crunching beneath his boots, Devlin made his way to the Castle ground, returning after a week in the small town south of the Castle. Rain droplets fell from his mask to his cheek, the water slowly rolling down to his neck. He was absolutely soaked from head to toe. He could have chosen not to get wet at all but decided against it, his mind elsewhere.

He rounded the gates, dark hair plastered to the sides of his neck and mask. His stormy eyes were averted, looking down but unseeing. He mumbled quietly to himself, bringing up a gloved hand to pull a book from a simple satchel at his belt.

Devlin continued walking, not really noticing where he was going, emmeresed in the tiny red leather book.

Kai's eyes followed the leaf as it floated away to an unknown fate, when a person walking by caught his attention. At first he only moved his eyes, then tilted his head slightly as he knew who the man was.

He turned his head completely to look at Devlin, who's eyes were glued to a tiny red leather book. He was sure that his overseer had not seen him, surely. But then again, it was Devlin and he was always surprising Kai with knowledge or personality quirks.

Kai waited for Devlin to pass him, then silently fell in step just sightly off to the right and behind. It was the proper place for him to walk. He exhaled a breath that he had been greedily holding on to, relieved that now there was some normalcy in the present situation.

Taking note of Kai's presence, Devlin snapped his book closed, giving himself a sharp nod before returning the book to it's rightful place. Pulling in an unnecessary breath, he turned his head to look at the shorter man.

The rain continued, little droplets splashing off his mask. A silly little grin played along the vampires pale lips as he gazed at Kai.

"Why, my dear Kai, how nice of ol' Lucy to finally let you come to the castle." He took his eyes off the man and stole a glance around, noting several passerbys and others scattered along the grounds.

"I'm sure you've been informed of your duties. You are to serve the lords of the castle but only to a certain extent. You will runs errands. Nothing more. I will serve as your overseer. Any questions you may have, you come to me." Devlin ran a gloved hand over his mouth throughtfully.

"Ah, also, do not forget that you are an angel. You are very tempting to the vampires and vampire hybrids alike that dwell in this castle." The vampire turned his head once again to look at him, his eyes questioning.

Devlin barely caught himself gazing a little longer at the angel then he should have been when his eyes hardened. He looked away deciding to remain silent for the time being. A simple stroll around the grounds sounded pleasent.

The rain was beginning to let up to a fine little drizzle. The clouds started to thin out, revealing a few stars here and there. Devlin looked up, letting out the breath he had unknowingly been holding. After a moment his eyes softened, as if remembering. Remembering a time where he would once gaze at the stars without a care in the world.

The corner of his mouth quirked into a small smile, water dripping from his lips.

Kai's lips tightened as the vampires gaze lingered on him, but made himself relax. And when Devlin cast his harden eyes to the sky, the angel looked down to study the gravel intently.

He no longer looked up to the sky, understanding no answers would ever be found there. There was no love, no forgiveness to be given to him. His brows knitted together as he was lost momentarily. But that stayed no more then an open flame in a torrential rain.

Kai had learn to maintain a silence, sometime people said he seemed at peace, but the truth was he was hallow. There was always an ache in his heart, that he could never will away, or forget.

Thoughts of a past life wandered into his mind. His eyes became unreadable, a swirl of emotions. Devlins unfocused gaze traveled to the castle roofs, taking in the stone. He opened his mouth to comment when his foot caught a stone.

Devlin lurched forward at an awkward angle but managed to catch himself before he fell. He blinked, wide eyed at the shock of what just happened. He seemed to be frozen in a rather silly pose, slightly bent forward, arms out at his sides and his feet spread apart.

The vampire blinked and slowly regained his composure. He straightened himself and shook his head, sending a few drops of water flying. Devlin continued walking as if nothing had happened.

"So Kai, how long have you been waiting for me?" Devlins voice was low, nearly a whisper. He kept his gaze diverted, stealing glances at passer bys and servants.

Kai picked his gaze up from ground the when Devlin nearly fell, he hesitated a lending hand, which was just as well because he didn't want to offend the vampire by offering him help with his near plunder.

"So Kai, how long have you been waiting for me?" Devlins voice was low, nearly a whisper.

"Not Long." His answer was short, sweet, and to the point. He was curious as to why he was there in the first place, and curious to Devlin's health.

"Lord, is there anything wrong?" He asked gently. He knew he could get away with more informalities with Devlin, then other overseers.

Raidan walked out of the castle, in his full wolf form. Walking out among the lawn, he layed down on his side.
