Limbershadow Tell us! Okay, Rocky LaRouge. It's original! The Rocky part was...well, I just like the name Rocky. The second part, LaRouge is because I enjoy the dark and I'm pretty suer that translates to "The Dark" In French. Umm... Well, I can't speak french, but I suspect that may be a tad off potentially... sweatdrop I think that actually means "The Red". (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, since it could mean bloody.) My reasoning for this is based upon several things. First of all, Rouge is a red color which I have at least heard used to describe both blush and lipstick. Secondly, Moulin Rouge is definitely french and it translates to Red Windmill. >.> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moulin_RougeThirdly, online translators seem to say it means red too. I wouldn't trust just one, but when many seem to say the same it kinda indicates a pattern. Plus, they're pretty good with simple words like that. Fourthly, I think "dark" is "sombre" based just on online translations...Again, I can be wrong. If in doubt, search around a bit to see if there's a pattern. If you searched google images for "chat noir" and every thing was a poster or image of a black cat, you can bet that translates into "back cat". I could be wrong .... Just letting you know based upon the stuff I've heard. I'm also partly basing it off the many experiences I've had with French without actually learning the language. Note: My signature is based on a very limited understanding of Spanish. It actually reads incorrectly so it's not like everyone is great with other languages they don't know well. But... it's more of a play on words actually. It literally translates to: "Wolf of the chocolate and cream with a little heat." I think it technically means: "Wolf made out of chocolate and cream with a little heat." What I intended was: "Chocolate and cream (colored) wolf who's hot." ...Sorta. Something like that anyway. But it's more of a play on language now, since it's more like I'm tasty like chocolate and cream, while being a little hot. ...I shouldn't say it, but I could have used a different phrase and added another level of hidden meaning which would have had a double meaning of...well..."turned on" lets just say. razz Language is funny that way.

Well, mine had been simple. Very Simple. It was simply Fox.
But I felt Fox wasn't enough of a defining factor, that I had to give him a last name too.
So I came up with Fox Frenzi. Mainly because I had named a special move after this, and decided 'Hmm, This would make a nice name too.' So after some tweaking, I settled on that name and paraded him around.
Since I was super fox crazy, a 'Fox Frenzy' matched up pretty well with this guy.

Toying with a language of my own design, one word came out as "tik," and another came out as "koge."
Upon creating this name, I hastily destroyed the language, as it had served its purpose by creating a name that I could not in any way identify in the real world at the time. Any efforts to create another fantasy language will be from scratch, starting with the word "Tikoge" and its secret meaning.

Well, in like 2000-2001 I took the name "Kajozi" and used it to do some roleplay on ezboards and some TLK fan sites. The name Kajozi is Swahili - but if you want to know what it means you'll have to look that up yourself. sweatdrop
In 2003 I was considering the change to "Rukin" but was still unsure. I registered it on Gaia but didn't use it and kept using the first account named Kojozi. I ended up commissioning my first character art in 2003 as well. The name Rukin I made up. I took a bunch of starting sounds for possible names that I liked, such as Ru, Ky, Sal, etc and then a bunch of ending sounds like rex, ton, kin and I sat and mixed and matched them till I found a combo I liked, which ended up being Rukin.
It was only in the last year or so that I combind them as a first and last name, Rukin Kajozi. I also switched over to this Gaia account to use Rukin as my primary name. 3nodding
If you're actually curious what the name Kajozi means in Swahili then you can hit my profile and follow the link to my FA account. If you are registered and set to see adult images, then you can pull up my second image "Wet Fur" and read the description.

Well shoot, long but short story about my name. So I'll stick to the short aspect. All started when I was five. Never felt comfortable being... Human... I never liked it at all, so when I turned eight, thats when I learned about furries. And oh how I wanted to be a raptor. But thats impossible. So I started on furcadia as a raptor. I kept playing throughout with a simple name, but point was made on it. Fast forward a few years when I started J.H. I had a ton of fights, and I was never taken down, and they often times barely lasted a minute because my opponent pussed out, or was knocked out. And if they tried running, I chased them down. So people started calling me raptor because I was that fast and furious. I did not mind the nick name, so I stuck with it. Fast forward to my sophomore year of H.S, when I attended my first rave. People learned about that and they added the rave to the beginning. The title literally stuck, and now I use Rave Raptor for most of my usernames everywhere from YouTube to e621. Thats my story

Isaol is actually my real name, I'm FROM Russia, but anyway, I saw a furniture store named "LaMaison." Which is "The House" however I noticed people tend to think foreign words are so cool they want to use them as names no matter what the meaning is. Its why I go to a school with a kid named "LaTriene."

Mine is twice derived from the surname of someone I met.
I believe she is the daughter of one of the astronomers or physicists or whatever whom you will find if you Google the name.

Yes Because LEO is like latin or greek for lion. But I only thought about it because you said something about it. Before I never thought about it.

Type in Leo in this etymology dictionary and you'll get several entries very similar to that word, all having something to do with "lion". http://www.etymonline.comThis can be very helpful with names and their meanings. Personally, I would associate Leonis with lions automatically because of Leo. This doesn't mean you can't use it, but expect people to assume you're a lion first when it comes to the furry fandom.

KillerLee A half year after I created it, my thread is still ALIVE... muhahahahahaha.... And no one answered my second question. sweatdrop The question was, does my furname, Leonis, make you think of my fursona as being a lion? No. I know you a little. You aren't lionlike. You sort of... bounce around entertainingly too much. I don't mean to demean here, it's just that your personality seems more mercurial and extroverted than I would expect of lions, which are known for sitting and not really doing anything, but looking awesome while they do.

My fur name is Se'kar. It's Ethiopian for sugar. My fursona is an Ethiopian wolf, and when I was looking for a name, I was just going through lists of foreign words, and I really liked that one, then looked at the language, lo and behold, it was Ethiopian. Also, my best friend's real name (who got me into furry) is Sebastian, and my real name is Karin. A friend thought that the reason I had picked Se'kar as a name, was because it was a combination of both our names, didn't even realize that! So it's like the perfect name for me biggrin
