Lakeside Memories

He walked slowly until he hit the water's edge. "I'm sorry, but I needed to know more about you. Somehow...somehow I knew you were more than what you seemed." He looked back at her, "But I won't tell anyone. I own you that much for saving me all those years ago."

Seira looked away, "I didn't save you because I wanted to, I saved you because I don't like clutter in my lake. Human bodies take forever to decompose. And...I'm afraid I cannot let you leave this place with the knowledge you now have about me. Fire, Earth and Wind are already angry with me, I don't need them anymore angry than they already are."

Damien's eyes widen as she spoke, "What...what do you mean?"  

[Shiva_Goddess]

Seira sighed with pain reflected in her eyes, "I will give you a choice. Either you lose your memory of me or I turn you into what I am. You will never be able to be a human again. I recommend the memory loss, it's less painful that way."

Damien shook his head, "How could I chose to forget you?" He looked at her, "I would rather stay human, but I know I would still think of you. You been in my dreams for so long."  

[Shiva_Goddess]

Seira shook her head, "You will forget me, everything, dreams, everything. I had to do this before, they chose to be like me. The pain was so intense...that I killed them to save them from that suffering. I will do the same thing, I know how painful it can be. Just forget about me, I never saved you because I wanted to, I did it because I didn't want dirty human flesh in my lake. So forget about me! Choose it!"

He stared at her before he took a step toward her stepping into the water, "Make me like you." His voice held no fear as he kepted his gaze on her, "Make me like you so I don't have to forget."  

[Shiva_Goddess]

Seira stepped back, "No! Water Elementals are forbidden to like anyone! Earth has already made that clear to me the first time. If you do not choose either of those 2, I will choose for you."

"I decided." He took another step into the water, "Make me into what you are. That is my choice as long as I keep my memories."  

[Shiva_Goddess]

Seira looked to the side, "I...don't know if I can. It's so painful, you'll wish for death. Please, choose to lose your memories, it will be easier on both of us. You won't ever be human again, you'll never see your family or your friends. Do you really want to give them up for me?"

He looked at her, "I'm sure they'll grieve for me...but I can't imagine my life without you." He stepped closer, being about knee deep in water, "What are you waiting for? Change me."  

[Shiva_Goddess]

"You don't even know me. I could be nothing like the person you think I am, and when you realize that it will be too late. And I won't be able to change you back..." a crystal tear fell down her cheek, "Please...forget me."

He stepped closer to her, up to his waist in the water. His eyes were fixed, determined, unwavering. "Change me."  

[Shiva_Goddess]

Tears were falling down her face and she turned away, "Just...go. I won't change you, I can't put you through that pain. Just leave here and don't come back," her form dissipated and went back into the water disappearing

Damien glared at the water, speaking loudly, "I'll leave, but I can't promise you anything." He stared into the depths of the water before he turned around and started the long walk home.
