» Maile and her twin brothers were idiots when they were younger, her brothers coming up with the idea of only eating a specific type of animal. They bet her that she couldn't hunt down only birds, nothing else, and she took it to heart, and she, being the stubborn beast she is, continues to battle that bet. When not concerned with that, she's a very mellow lioness, half of the time even childish, taking joy in the little things in life. Like lazing in the sun in the hot afternoon!.. She does that a lot. She's also stubborn, shown by her determination to beat her two brother's bet, and won't give up on anything without some sort of fight. Mai' is also absolutely horrible at apologizing, and often makes the situation turn for the worse. It tends to get her into a little trouble every once in a while.

H i s t o r y

The Beginning - - - - - -
» Maile was born into a pretty normal family of lions, with her parents and two younger brothers. Everything went swimmingly for her, and once she and her brothers hit adolescence, they struck off on their own as a trio to explore the world beyond their simple home. At first, the female felt the pangs of homesickness sinking in, wanting to go back home to mom and dad. The boys convinced her that it would go away in time, so they continued. The trio of siblings kept together, hunting and sharing everything, all of the things they needed to survive plentiful with the three of them sticking together.

» The three were also fond of bets and dares, and one day, after seeing so many gulls flying about at the beach they had deemed their temporary home, the twins proposed a bet. "We bet you can't live on just birds by yourself, sis'!" They teased, poked and prodded at their older sister, willing her on. Maile accepted the bet, also telling the two that since she had to hunt just birds, they were allowed to hunt only larger herbivores. So they split up their trio, Maile going off on her own and the twins scampering off in the other direction.

Personality - - - - - -
» Natsumi is quite the little warrior, heavily influenced by the colony's ways and beliefs, making it her goal to keep others 'pure' like all of the other full blooded species. She's made it a habit to run errands for others, without mentioning payment of any sort throughout the deal until the end, to 'test' how just they are. If they don't give payment, she takes it into her own hands and punishes them with a good hit with a stick until they 'act right'. If her mother is around, though, she'll just accept no payment and plan another way to get them to behave right once she's left. As she grows older, she'll realize that she doesn't need to use a stick, and that just talking to them about it will do better as an adult, but a nice smack with a paw will do if they continue to ignore her words.

When not trying to hit others, though, Natsumi can be quite the little sweetheart, and won't hesitate to play with others, just chat, or even stand up for them and defend them verbally, if needed. Using sticks as weapons will also further influence her into becoming a warrior, just as her mother wants. I'll probably have the idea of Bushidō, 'Way of the Warrior', influence her ways of making things 'right' as she grows.
