The_Pathan Yes, i got told that non-muslims are called kufars 3nodding And lølz no... Scientists says, that those who went to Africa became monkeys, and those to Saudi became humans rofl rofl Acturally the human race started at Saudi! I dunno if it's Mekka ore Madina... But it's one of those. Adam and Eva meet there when they came to our world 3nodding In a muslim film, one of adam and eva's son was hunting. And the animals were dino's wink You were told so...ah..and what do you think? Can you think yourself? Oh really? interesting...

kufar? oh, kafir..? nevermind that, they have same letters anyway.. yes I believe we can't marry them..
anyway about the dini thing, I too, am wondering about that. some says Adam's era was after the dinosaur's thing. Then won't that make the cavemen the first human? but some people tell me that Adam was the first 'modern/cultured' human..

Kufar doesn't mean non-Muslim, It means those who deny the existence of God, one God. For instance you can't call a Christian or Jew kafir, because they do believe in the one Allah (they just have a different way of worshiping Him). the ones you call kufar are the ones that worship beings other than Allah such as the Greeks who believed in several gods.

To answer the initial poster's question, I am a caucasian muslim ^^ I personally know a few others as well. It's all a matter of where you live, I suppose =) As for me, I have had nothing but positive responses from other muslims.
Racism, or the mention of race, really really irks me, personally, because it is not a biological concept. Categorizing people by their skin colour is ratherpointless. It's a social construct. At most, we can speak about ethnicity, and that works on a much smaller scale usually. "Asian" is not an ethnicity, neither is "African". "Maasai" (african indigenous people) is, "Tamil" (Sri Lankan ethnic group) is too. Though the boundaries of ethnicity also vary a lot in scale and are sometimes fuzzy =)
Of course I agree with everyone else that racism has no place in islam, it is about our actions, intentions and our beliefs. And we are all muslims and should treat each other as such. However, our ethnicity and cultural background can't be ignored completely. Rather, we should learn from each other and take on the good from each other.
"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things). " Surah 49:13 (translation by Yusuf Ali)
