GS Sailor Typhon

Yes I would like to know about Tutorials on Senshi uniforms and What Patterns would be good for the ones pictured above. Oh and instead of Saturn I think I am doing Mars.

As Lime_coolasa said, for senshi uniforms the best patterns you can use are for ice-skating outfits. They're a tight-fit suit with a skirt, similar to those of the sailor senshi. The only thing you'll have to change are maybe the lenght of the skirt, adding bows and changing the sleeves. You should use light fabrics though, because my sister's got a sailor saturn outfit, but the fabric for the large bows were too heavy so it didn't come out very nice.

If you google "ice skating" or "figure skating" pattern, you'll find plenty! How to sew them comes with the patterns.

I was wonderig if anybody could help me make the costume for Maka Albarn, from Soul Eater.

Examples:

I already have a shirt and skirt, and I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to find a sweater-vest. But what I really need help with is her cloak/jacket/whatever and her boots (which I'll probably just make boot covers for.)

If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great. Thanks. smile

Unless your willing to find a pair of boots to make you Maka boots, I'd stay boot covers are a good option. I'm not sure what you need help with the jacket but maybe the construction? I'm not sure if you could find a jacket that would work or be alterable for hers, however if you find a pattern with a similar top style all you'd have to do is alter the pattern to extend longer. I hope this helps...

You will have to alter it a little, but here is a pattern for the jacket...

Hi everyone sup? I am kinda new to the whole cosplay scene. I have been trying to find people who have any information on where I can find or either how did you find any information on patterns for Sailor Moon and Princess Serenity for a plus size women. I am a very big woman and for some reason I believe that no matter what size you are we all are princesses. So if anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

@Princess: I'm sure you can buy patterns online. For a sailor-fuku you can use an altered ice-skating or even swim-suit pattern. For princess serenity I'd suggest a ballroom or wedding dress pattern. I don't know which ones, but you can probably find them. I buy my patterns from http://www.sewingpatterns.eu/en/ ...They have so much that it's easy to find something you like. You have to look closely which patterns have which sizes, so make sure it can fit your own body. smile They probably have patterns on e-bay too or something...

I hope that helps!!

Hello, hello! I'm starting planning on my cosplay of SF-A2 Miki from VOCALOID2 and I could use a little help.

Here are my references:
[1]
[2]
[3]
[4]

Wig: I'm conflicted over what color to get. In some of the references, her hair seems to be an orange auburn color, but in others it looks pink. Which color is more accurate/looks best?

Collar: I'm not sure whether the neck of her dress goes all the way up her neck or if it just sort of...blends with her skin. If the latter, any ideas on how I could get the same sort of effect? I like to be really accurate if possible. n.n

Dress: The bottom of it seems to pop out like there's a small hoop. Should I add a hoop to it or let it hang regularly?

Boot Covers: I've never made them before. n.n;; Anyone have tips on how to go about it or a link to a good tutorial? I haven't found much of anything in my searches.

Thanks! I'll post WIP pictures when I've started.

@Shymedusa-Link - that is a video that tell you how to make Sailor Fuku, of course for Simca you'll have to alter it a bit. But I'm afraid there is not way around it. Unless you can find a winter sailor fuku pattern? (you can always try cosplay.com I'm pretty sure they have a good Sailor Moon thread which they wear sailor fuku)

Also this site has some sailor fuku stuff as well as boot covers
Link

@Yuu
This is a bit harder since each picture seems to be by
different artist which makes me assume there is little to
none "official" art. Which leaves a lot up to what you think looks best and what you want to do.

For the wig really depends, do you want a realistic(ish or atleast more so than pink) color then go with the orange. But if you want to match the wig and the stripes then go with pink(from what I can tell).

The collar should be just really high, I do not think it's actually blending with her skin.

I don't know if your have to be as drastic as hoops but the bottom has to be smaller to get that poof seen in her dress, I would suggest interfacing for that. Also if you don't like the interfacing only you can always go back and add a hoop or wire.

I have a link up for boot covers earlier in this post, so check that out!

This is probably going to be a dumb question, but here it goes.

I was thinking of cosplaying Nami from One Piece from the Buggy and Arlong arc/season, reference here. Here is where I run into the problem...the shoes and the skirt, I believe I've worked out, but the shirt is another story. I have no sewing machine and no great sewing skills, and I haven't found any websites selling that particular shirt or one that even comes close to it. Does anyone have any advice or tips on sewing and what is the best material to use for sewing the blue stripes onto a plain white shirt? And maybe a tutorial or where to get the blue stripe material from? I really need help on this...I've got less than 2 months!

If you don't having any sewing skills, or a sewing machine, you could get the white T-shirt and paint on the blue parts.
Look for this product... http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/tulip-slick-paint-82792/ .
Just remember to put cardboard inside the shirt so the paint doesn't bleed to the other side.

I'm using the glow in the dark fabric paint right now on some rave attire. Just don't get discouraged after you apply a coat. It sometimes takes a few coats to get the look you want. Using tape can also help create a straight border. Oh, and work in sections that way you don't mess up drying paint. ^W^
Oh, also... get the SLICK paint. They make PUFF and GLITTER kinds as well. The PUFF is paint that well, puffs up when it drys.
