Shadowtooth chuckled. "What are you talking about, I'm perfectl-" He stopped to listen to his stomach grumble. Shadowtooth tried to tremain strong. "Heh, see...oh no..." He said. He practically collapsed laughing. On top of the fact he'd already digested it, his vision doubled. It was definatly affecting him in strange ways. He grabbed his mouth. "Ugh, that's...nasty." He collasped again and the crowd grew silent, but it was a humoring silence. One person in the crowd spoke. "Idiot..." Shadowtooth got up after a minute. Then he ran into the home. He looked for something to drink desperatly. He downed the first liquid he could find. To his surprise the crowd started laughing.

As he leaned against the stone wall of a squat building near the town's center, rejoicing in the bit of shade he'd found, Glacon observed the clientele of the building across the street. Crudely painted on the signboard hanging out over the narrow street was the sign of the pilgrim, and a badly drawn tankard of what was supposed to be ale.

"I would rather sleep in Kurtic's barn," he thought to himself. "I would probably wake up with fewer fleas that way." Besides, he doubted if the evening here in town would be very quiet. There seemed to be more and more Katar prowling the streets. Placing his hand against the rough fieldstone of the building, he pushed away from the building and headed back to the outskirts of town. Perhaps a cool, clean, and quiet place to rest would be easier to find further away from the center of commerce.

Shini and Kami watched as the crowd burst out laughing.

"C'mon," Kami chided, "I bet you want to know what's happening."
"Fine," Shini started to stand up, but out of the corner of her eye she saw a Borean walking towards them. She froze and quickly did her best to cover up her scales and claws, though Kami would've given away that she was a Drake either way.
Kami saw the Borean as well, "Let's go over to someplace else first," he suggested.
Shini agreed and the two of them walked away from the Borean.

Tiagara looked at the drake trying to keep his dignity while obviously experiencing the effects of the food. The dark elf was surprised by the speed at which the food seemed to have touch the organism. Then she recalled that drakes had a faster digestion rate than boreans or elves.

Despite the overall hilarity of the crowd, the dark elf was not laughing anymore. She hated drakes. She hated that one even more. However she hated even more the feeling of strength which single individuals were feeling in a crowd whereas they were truly cowards. She hated cowards more than anything and that drake wasn't one.

As Shadowtooth came back and everyone laughed, Tiagara looked at him with sadness.

"Your skin is pink." she whispered at him with a sigh.

Glacon couldn't tell whether he was leaving town or heading baack to the center; the noise and crowd wasn't diminishing. Perhaps he had gotten turned around? Possible, but unlikely. As he scanned the street for landmarks, he noticed a small shop that he hadn't seen on his way in to town. The aging wood of the door, bleached a soft grayish-brown by the sun and the wind, did not fit well in the door frame. Neither did the sign hanging above the door, with a painted bundle of herbs, look like it would last through the next storm season. In his haste to dodge the crowd and arrive at this intriguing little boutique, Glacon failed to notice that the disturbance down the street was not in fact an Equine pushing his way through the crowded street. Equines don't usually have that many scales . . .

Shadowtooth looked at his skin and growled. He was saving his medical equipment for something more serious, but his pride was on the line. He quickly consumed something he'd brought along and he returned to normal. The crowd's laughter died out. They started to disperse, but so many more remained to see if this went anywhere else. He was starting to get cold. He went to get his armor. He threw it on quickly, but the cold only partly disappeared. He walked back to the crowd, spear in hand, eyes with a steely gaze.

As Shini and Kami turned, they saw a strange sight.

they thought simultaneously.
"It's the drake from before," Shini realized and told Kami.
"You've got to be joking," Kami replied, but he believed Shini and was now more interested than ever, "C'mon, let's go check it out, he nudged Shini's back.
Shini was interested in this too but she couldn't just barge in, "Wait, I think there's enough going on over there without us. Plus, what's the point of going there?"
Kami pouted, what Shini said was true, "Aw, but you said we could go."
"Only if it's serious. A drake turning pink is not serious, he probably just ate something he wasn't supposed to."
Kami had to agree to that.

The two continued over to a new spot.

Tiagara looked as the drake healed himself with some precious medicine which he had brought with him. She was surprised by the waste. Usually medications were used in case of death or life, except when one had a healer handy, and yet, the drake took something as if it were a mere thing.

She noticed the crowd calming down as the drake got his usual green tone back. The Borean who had fainted, had grabbed his tray and ran away as soon as he could. She did not blame him, at least the fellow was honest with himself.
When the drake disappeared, she felt relieved. She was not here to fight and that episode had made her realize how truly hungry she was.
However the green monster came back, fully armed and staring at the crowd. Some more people departed.
At least, she would grant him stubbornness and pride as ... qualities? But the drake was surely not the sharpest blade in the armory.

Without a word to the monster, she turned and started walking away, sending home people who tried to congratulate her.

"There is nothing to brag about! Go home." her tone was authoritative and annoyed.

A faint musty odor and the smell of herbs reached his nose as Glacon pushed his way through the shop's doorway. The proprieter, an aging Ursine whose hair was shot through with silver, gave him a brief glance and a grunt of welcome, and went back to his mortar and pestle.

As his eyes became more accustomed to the gloom, he made out bunches of herbs, neatly tied, hanging to dry from the rafters of the store. The proprieter's workbench, which appeared to double as the shop's counter, stood in the middle of the flagstone floor. Shelves and cabinets covered the walls from floor to ceiling. Glacon stepped closer to one shelf to inspect its contents. The smell of herbs was overwhelming. Each ceramic pot was labeled with a common name as well as a druidic glyph indicating the contents. Glacon began mentally cataloging the herbs he kept in the brown leather pouch at his waist. Certainly the shop here had a large selection, and he could always use his skills at healing to refill his purse with coin. Not that the herbs were absolutely necessary for the healing, but they did provide a certain quality of focus - a connection to the elements that helped focus healing energies.

Lost in his inspection of the shop's interior, Glacon gave occasional glances towards the shop's single window. The light trickling through the grime on the glass panes would let him know that evening was approaching. He was perfectly content with spending his time until the evening's gathering looking through the shop.

Shini and Kami rested again, this time they were at the western edge of the town. With the town at their backs, the two of them watched the sunset. Waiting for any indication that Ferron will start his speech. Shini fiddled around with her knives and poisons, making sure that they were in proper condition. She also made sure that the medicine and antidotes she kept with her were in good condition too. Kami watched as his Keeper took stock of her items.

He nudged her, "Why don't you go and eat."
Shini answered, "Don't worry, I'll eat when you eat."
"You should eat now, I won't be able to hunt until after dark," Kami heard Shini's stomach rumble, "I know you're hungry."
"Not that much," Shini lied.
"I know you lied."
"Geez, you don't need to worry about me, okay?" Shini assured Kami, "I won't die from eating a meal late."

Kami gave up. Sometimes Shini was more stubborn than him. Shini continued looking over her items and maintaining them.

Shadowtooth looked at the sky. He tested his spear and looked at his medical supplies. He still had enough for anything serious. He ran up to a nearby hill and stabbed his spear in the ground. He watched the sun intently. He remembered his training as a clawbearer. He hoped he was strong enough. He pulled a broken amulet from a slot in his armor. It was the broken symbol of clawbearers. He put it on, no matter how torn it was, to show he was a clawbearer.

Tiagara had expected the drake to shout after her or just silently threw his spear in her back. That would have been a happy ending...for him. But nothing came and she went on, leaving the outskirts of the town to enter the center. She was looking for a place to find some food appropriate for her own digestive system, she did not want to end up with white polka-dots or something.

After some time walking and looking around, slowing down many times to stare at a baby ursine or a unique feature in a katar, the dark elf ended up in front of the All Races Tavern. At least the name of the inn was clear. She stepped in and was surprised to be welcomed by a dark elf. She noticed a multiracial band on a little podium and a ...drake was serving fresh ale!

Tiagara took a seat by the window. From there she could see both the main town square and the inside of the Tavern. The place was a little too crowded but at least she would find decent food here. She ordered a mug of dark ale. Probably one of the few foods which could be digested by any of the three main races or even the minority races. And judging by the loud laughing and talking, the ale was good and flowing heavily.
The elf also ordered a sort of omelet with funginis, a type of mushrooms only elves truly appreciated.
A minute later, she was in front of a meal and a drink. She was truly impressed by the speed of service and soon, by the quality of the food. She ate quickly, observing with wide eyes the band. She had seen an ursine for the first time in her life only a couple of hours ago, but seeing one playing a sort of fiddle with dexterity despite his huge paws was an amazing sight...and hearing.

No matter who the person was or where they were or what they were doing, they heard the following call as it resounded throughout all of Goodwill. It was the voice of a female Katar, Ferron's second in command. She was a small, thin thing but when she spoke, her voice was filled with power and strength.

"Listen up all you wanderers, riff raff and visitors! Ferron is preparing to address everyone. Please gather at the western edge of town."

With that, the white-furred Katar disappeared within the crowd once more.

Tiagara swallowed her meal at once when the words echoed all over town. She looked at the window as a cute little thing was shouting around, calling people to gather. She almost jumped on her seat when she made the connection between the voice and the body.

How can such a cute furry ball be That loud?! she wondered. There was a lot the dark elf yet to discover.
had She scratched her head.
Maybe I should have listen to Master when he told me to go see the world...I have felt stupid more than once since I left the northern settlement.

Tiagara stood up and drop a coin in the waiter's direction who caught it with a grunt. She grabbed her mug and finished it in one sip...half chocking herself, but hey, it was good ale and she did not want to waste. Without losing time, she walked in direction of the west side of town. If she had no clue where it was, it seemed that masses of people actually knew and therefore she just followed the flow.

The last ray of the sunshine were slowly disappearing on the horizon. It was sunset indeed. She liked the set up. Ferron was making her more and more curious. Arriving where it seemed that the speech would take place, she found a spot she liked.

Shadowtooth turned around. The western edge was only a few yard away. He walked instead of ran. "Ok, now we are getting somewhere." He said. He sheathed his spear again. His amulet constantly bumping on his armor. He looked around. Everybody was gathering. They tried to swarm him to get up front, but he kept shoving them backwards. He snarled as he saw he was already surrounded. "This speech better begin fast." He said.
