Just the other day I watched 'Tomb Raider', it was wonderful!

-The plot and action scenes were good, it was as if you played the game.

-I liked it, but I don't know if the Metroid movie will be anything like it.

I see that this is very old, but I just had to comment.

Metroid, no matter how awesome it is, cannot be used as a movie idea. Atleast, the movie industry couldn't leave the storyline as is (as they do with almost all videogame movies) since Samus is on those missions alone. She doesn't have a team or people to interact with at all. Sure her suit computer talks to her occasionally or she has contact with COs, but for the most part, she's by herself. There's no room for the normal character interaction that all movies are founded on.

The way the Metroid games are set up there is just no way they can use them as a movie without ******** the storyline to hell and back.

People are saying that a movie based on a game is going to suck, but then again it's never really been tried. What do you think about the Metroid movie?

4.Charlise Theron(Uma Thurman, Kill Bill)will play Samus

Is that fact, or speculation?
One thing I do know is fact is that John Woo is directing it... or whatever he does to movies. He apparently makes rubbish movies sad

well that's not good at all. I hope he makes the movie really cool and worthwhile

I don't think it will suck just because it's a movie based on a video game...I mean, who knows? But I think just as long as they get a good writer who really knows and loves Metroid, then all should go well! ^^
