MALE PLZ!
Username: Eranas
Lions name: Tshi'uhu (Strong-minded)
Personality He cares strongly for his friends, his sisters. He would do anything to make them happy. But he doesn't want to give them up. Tshi'uhu is a stubborn Lion, in the sense that... since he helped these Lioness, he figures it's up to him to watch over them until -they- tell him it is alright for him to leave.

Prompt Response:

We have been together for a long time. I started alone. It didn't take too long before I found the rest of them, abandoned and searching like I was. These Lioness are –my- pride. I took them with me to take care of them, to be with them for as long as I could help them. But… they were becoming too weak. It was frightening. I didn't want to see death. And I was lead to this new pride: Ongozana'Ke. One dedicated to protect Lioness like my sisters. I decided this was the best for them. To be protected-- that’s all I want for them.

It still hurts.

I have found out about the trials I must do to stay with them.vI can’t abandon them, though. I’ve worked too hard to keep them safe. I know everything about them...

I haven’t told the girls that I won't fair well. But, I’m sure they know the chances of me being able to beat another male is very low. I’m not strong like I used to be. My past caused me to weaken—Being in the harsh fields caused me to lose strength. I had to constantly watched over my precious family members.

Even if my chances are so low, even if I will be thrown from this pride. I will fight until the very end... for my sisters. I will die before I am forced to abandon my family.

No one will take me away from what is most precious to me...My family is worth more than my own life.

MALE PLZ!
Username: Quiet_Wolf
Lions name: Jengo (Building materials)
Personality Jengo is the sort of person who always puts his own needs last. He is fiercely loyal, and often makes sacrifices for the good of his makeshift pride. While this has kept his females fairly healthy, it has weakened him.
This stems not only from a great generosity of spirit (which is certainly there), but also from a severe lack of self-esteem. Jengo sees himself as a tool or a vessel; he is the means to an end. The end he hopes for is the safety of those he loves.
Prompt Response: The night air cooled his sunburned skin and teased his mane, greasy and filthy with sweat and sand. Even as his joints creaked with every subtle shift of his body swayed by the wind, he relished the freedom from the heat of the day. He struggled, just a bit, to steady himself on the uneven sands and exhaled a heavy breath.
It was a long journey, in time and space. While he could not be sure of the real distance, he knew they had been wandering for several moons. It had cost them dearly; three family members had passed, unable to stand the long treks from watering hole to watering hole, from shelter to shelter. Every time, he wondered what he could have done differently. Jengo could never say with certainty what could have prevented the deaths, but there was always the biting insistence in his mind that it had been his fault, despite the protests of his pridemates that it was not. He did his best. Sometimes, it just wasn't enough.
And now, they had found a home. He, like everyone else, had been positively overjoyed. It was the best bit of luck they'd ever had. He'd thought that he could finally have a place to call home, that he could lay down the heavy mantle of leadership and live the rest of his life in the safety and bliss of order and family.
Stupid. Jengo should have known there would be a price.
While he kept a calm face when the lioness had explained the place of males in the pride, his heart had sunk in despair. He felt his joints, stiff with dehydration. His muscles, shaking ever so slightly for want of nutrients. Every meal he had skipped to leave for his females, every small serving he had pretended had filled his aching belly, they all caught up to him now.
He was malnourished, weak. He could keep his place for maybe a month, if he was lucky.
That didn't change the fact that this was the best place for his family. It would be selfish to uproot them again, all for his sake.
Jengo opened his eyes. They would stay. And he would stay, until a greater protector took his place.

EDIT: To clarify, Jengo is going to stay as long as he possibly can, I just made him sulk about his currently lousy physical condition to emphasis his low self-esteem and for the DRAMAZ.

PINKISH FEMALE PLZ!
Username: Satsurashi
Lions name: Zaria (Slavic name meaning ”morning star“ or “sunrise“)
Personality Zaria has her own little ways of doing things that aren’t like other lions. Few others, besides her dream sister, understand her, but her habits are unbreakable and Zaria refuses to believe that they don’t mean anything. Zaria seems to be extremely superstitious, and this is where she tends to get her odd quirks from. She won’t step on the shadow of another lion, refuses to sleep where the light of a full moon can reach her, and she likes to gather flowers and have them woven into little circlets and necklaces to ward off bad luck - something she insists everyone she cares about wears, at least while she’s around. These little behaviors, and many others, consume her day and leave room only for the tight relationships she has with other lionesses, particularly her blue dream sister. Their bond is of friendship, but Zaria also believes that fate brought them together when they needed each other, and so she’s determined that no matter what happens, she will never leave her side.

Zaria often appears very calm, almost spacey, but she gets very nervous if you break one of her superstitions, or if she does by accident. Every time that happens she will hurriedly uncross herself with whenever she thinks is needed, be it walking backwards in a circle or singing to stars. She’s a lighthearted and easygoing lioness, and it seems the only thing she takes seriously are her silly beliefs and friendships with females. Males… well, they’re just bad luck and best avoided! Except for the one she came in with, whom she likes to be around, most other males make her very nervous. If she sees one approaching, she’ll usually turn tail and run, leaving her dream sister behind to explain what that was all about… if she wants to.
Prompt Response: It was Zaria’s mother that taught her all of the things she needed to worry about. Her mother had a worry for everything, it seemed, and Zaria grew into an adult with a “healthy” fear of the unknown. She ;left her family as an adult to travel and see the world, but she had no idea what a big, lonely place the world could be. And dangerous!

Zaria met her dream sister completely by accident, while she was stalking prey. Or rather, the blue lioness was. Zaria was hiding, according to one of her superstitions that said you must take cover when you feel a wind blowing from the north, or it might blow your sanity away with it. She thought she was doing the blue lioness a favor when she called out to beware, but it startled the herd. Zaria had thought she’d be angry, but the lioness was merely puzzled about Zaria. Perhaps she could tell that Zaria seemed genuine about her warning. In any case, the lionesses got to talking and soon found that they seemed to click uncommonly well. And thus they began traveling together.

The two later joined the others later on, after they had been on their own for quite a long time. They were thick as thieves by then, and could often tell what the other was thinking just by a look on their face or gesture. They were inseparable, but they also knew that out on their own, they might not be totally safe. For one thing, Zaria’s anxieties were a handful, for both of them. Or another, hunting was not good. And seeing that the lions of this group seemed to help one another, the sisters thought it would be a wise decision to join. Little did they know the hardships they would face along their journey… Even so, it is clear to both lionesses now that had they remained on their own as prey got harder to find and the weather drier, they may both have died.

((OOC: Obviously if I win, I will adjust her history as needed so that it fits with the backstory of the person who wins the blue lioness. wink ))

LIGHT FEMALE PLZ!
Username: Depawsit
Lions name: Sanda ya Siri (Shrouded [in] mystery)
Personality Sanda prefers to keep her personality hidden from those around her, so it's not really known EXACTLY who she is. Some claim to say she's a skittish female, others say she's a very well mannered individual. But the truth is that not a soul aside from herself knows the truth. In truth, Sanda is a very bitter lion, who is wary of trusting others, this aspect goes way back in her history which is something else she is successful in hiding. Although she is bitter, the lioness does have a tiiiiny heart of gold - she can't stand to see others in trouble without at least attempting to give a hand. She may not like anyone much, but trouble is something she will always try to prevent.

Sanda ya Siri is also very weak, she's an older lioness and as such isn't up to par with the younger lions of this age. She's slow on the uptake, and wouldn't do well in defending anyone unless provoked - even then certainty is not assured,

Prompt Response:
Quote:
Why are did you join the group? What are your thoughts of now joining a pride?

The female lie by herself, apart from her group of travel companions. Staring lazily their way as she tried to decide what exactly it was they were all yammering on about. Surely it wasn't her? No, she had serious doubts that this strange grouping of lions could ever be so rude. That was partly why she had joined them, but only a very small part. The biggest part for her joining them was actually a little embarrassing for Sanda to think about, much less admit.

Rolling her eyes as she noted to the silly gestures the lions were making across the area at their little group pow wow, Sanda slowly turned on her heels and plopped back down, now facing the opposite direction of all the commotion.

Sanda had joined this rather odd group for one reason above all. They had a male, and that meant protection. Her entire life, Sanda had been brought up on the idea that male's were the superior gender. They gave us shelter, food, protection, and cubs. Every female needed one or they wouldn't survive long, and in Sanda's case this was doubly true. Just before meeting with her current group, Sanda had a run in with a very disgruntled male. He had attacked her, and managed to do severe damage before he finally left her for dead. Luckily, her injuries were nowhere near as terrible as the other lion would have hoped, but it was enough to prove to herself that her days of traveling without a male to protect her, were far over. It was as if by fate that Sanda was discovered by and invited to join this group.

A warm spot filled her chest as she thought of the kind lionesses that had helped her to get better, and the slower walks they had all taken when her joints hurt too much to go faster. This was a wonderful group to be with, but she wasn't so sure she would be with them much longer.

She'd heard their whispers, about an all female pride, where males were few and little. Her upbringing was all she needed to know that this surely wasn't the right place for her, and she had made those intentions clear to the other females. Who naturally tried to comfort her and explain the ways of the tribe - Sanda would have none of it, until it was explained that there were actual males around, instead of nearly non existent as she first assumed. It was around that time that Sanda agreed to stay with her makeshift pride as they ventured to the new lands.

Perhaps she could catch one of those big hefty lions for herself? Then she'd have protection!

The lioness giggled lightly to herself, causing a small dust storm to whirl around her nose. She patted it away rather quickly, and began to doze off once more, dreaming of the male, she might be lucky enough to have as her own.

GOLDEN FEMALE PLZ!
Username: Boudaihobbit
Lions name: Nyawela (On a journey)
Personality: Nyawela is overall an upbeat and optimistic lioness. Though she carries the internal scars and baggage from her merciless time wandering alone in the desert, she is excited and is greatly looking forward to joining a pride.

She lives in the moment, and deals with her problems internally. She won’t ever let anyone know that anything is wrong with her whatever the situation, and she focuses her mind to the present. Nyawele is very out-going and is always willing to try something new. It sometimes gets her into trouble when she dives into a situation head first without thinking, but she always manages to get herself out of things.

Smarter than she looks, or acts, Nyawele possesses an intuitive wisdom from life on her own up until this point. Keen and observant, she typically knows what others are up to, which comes in handy when there are cubs around. With a rocky past behind her, she is highly looking forward to a new future.

Prompt Response: Her mind was buzzing with excitement. For some time now, she had been traveling with a group of other lions that she had joined up with. She had been aimlessly wandering the desert when she met them. Having never traveled with other lions, she was never quite sure exactly what to do with them, so she simply followed them to see what time would bring.

The decision to join them to travel to a pride had come out of a longing that had always sat deep within her chest. A longing to have a purpose, and to belong. She had always been so lonely, but she had always been lonely, so she had never really known the difference. However, she had seen the lions of the prides from afar, not daring to get any closer in fear of being unwelcome, but she had still watched them curiously, wondering what it might be like to live amongst so many others.

Her memory wasn’t always kind to her, so she didn’t really know whether or not she had ever lived with other lions, although, she had always supposed that she came from somewhere. Despite feeling anxious over her immediate future, she was greatly looking forward to joining this pride she’d learned of. She wondered what the lions there were like. She wondered if she’d fit in with them. She wondered what it be like to wake up everyday among them, no longer wandering the rogue land deserts. Gazing out into the distance, she decided that she would simply have to find out.

LIGHT FEMALE PLZ!
Username: Boudaihobbit
Lions name: Busara (Wisdom)
Personality In general, Busara can be described as being rational, assertive, and idealistic. She thinks and considers things factually, but keeps an open mind. She does not terribly approve of daydreaming or wishful thinking, and believes in taking action and controlling one’s own destiny.

Never shy about voicing her opinion, she will let anyone know how she feels about anything, whatever it may be. Busara is strong in her beliefs and is not easily swayed away from them. Despite her structured attitude, she is always willing to listen to new thoughts and ideas, even if they don’t necessarily agree with her own. She is very sociable, and she respects intelligence and thoughtfulness in others.

Prompt Response: The high sun beat furiously down on her as she moved onward that day. It felt hotter than it had all of the other days that they had been on this little journey. She recalled how she had come across the small group that she was currently traveling with some time ago, and how they had told her about the Ongozana’Ke pride and that they were going to join them. Intrigued, she had weighed out the benefits of living in a pride as opposed to continuing to live in the desert. She believed that there was some reason that she had run into these lions, and she wasn’t going to ignore the opportunity for a change of setting. The desert could only be her home for so long.

Busara had been born to a band of lions, although she had gotten separated from them at a young age. Learning more about the prospective pride, Busara was fascinated by the fact that it was primarily controlled by lionesses. Thinking that it would be fantastic to live in a pride with such a structure, she woke everyday with a new vigor and eagerness to get further and closer to their destination. She appreciated the protective nature that this pride upheld for it’s females.

While in her time going on about her life, she had always wondered if it would be possible for her to one day have cubs. The thought of trekking any young cub that she had across the desert did not seem to be appealing in the least. It was illogical to put a cub in such conditions when there were potentially better options for her. As she thought of it, it seemed like a better and better time in her life to settle into a pride. Busara was very willing to do any communal work that would be required of her for entire nights of peaceful sleep. She was looking forward to living in a place where she could rest, and did not have to spend every waking moment plotting out how she would survive the days.

MALE PLZ!
Username: Sabra Knight
Lions name: Rasmus (Lovable)
Personality Rasmus is a sweet heart. Everything he does always seems to be for the good of others more than for his own ambitions. He has a bright smile and always a kind word or compliment for the lionesses. He appears to be used to their company and appears nervous without them nearby. In a way he could be seen as either a big brother or a lover. But despite his soft voice and his kind look Rasmus is strong – it may come as a surprise to those who face him, but the lion has fought before and seems to be especially clever with his attacks. The only problem is that moment in battle where any other lion would go in for the kill, Rasmus would hesitate. He hates violence after all and would only fight for the sake of his place and for the companions he holds so dear.
Prompt Response:
He had thought that this pride was a blessing. Rasmus had been terrified of losing the girls. They were exhausted, tired of running away from the past and the lack of prey had not been a help either to their overall condition. So when they had found this pride to take them in the lion had thought that it was finally over and that he could live a peaceful life with his companions. But once the pride’s beliefs had been described to him he found that he had been wrong.

This was no resting place for him.

Yes, for the girls it would be nice. A place full of females to help them and keep them company. But for him it would be hard. Fighting it seemed was the only way to keep his place beside companions. And if he lost….well he wouldn’t think about that.

“And to think I was going to become a pacifist once we found a new home.” Rasmus muttered to himself, looking up at the sky. Why was it that nothing seemed to be pleasant in this world? Always, always there was a catch to everything he found hope in. The lion sighed. He would do it of course. He had to for the sake of the group. As long as they were safe then he was happy.

Preferably he wouldn’t want to fight, but for them it seemed he would. Rasmus looked down at his claws. If he could then he would procrastinate participating in these fights as often as possible. Certainly he would end up fighting and if he lost them he would find a way back. He would try no matter how many times he would be beaten in order to at least see their faces one more time. To see that they were still safe and maybe even happy. Oh, he hoped that they would be happy here. Even if he was cast out or even if he died fighting to stay here with them, at least that one thing would allow him to die a peaceful death. Rasmus was not going to regret this for he would rather die than leave them alone. Maybe, maybe if they were satisfied with their lives then he could pull back just a little. He had no real desire to breed yet and only wanted to fight to stay here with the females as their guardian and friend. One day he may fight for the right to breed with the one he loved, but for now their safety was the only thing he focused on.

Standing the lion padded back towards the pride. He wanted to check on his companions before retiring for the night and beginning his training, to get his strength back.

GIMME LION PLZ! THNX!

MALE PLZ!
Username: Depawsit
Lions name: Kibwe (Blessed)
Personality Kibwe is sort of like a child's teddy bear, he gets LOTS of attention. Which is a good thing in this lion's case, he lives for attention, he craves it. For Kibwe attention is a life force, as essential as breathing. This is why Kibwe started his little group. He will do whatever it takes to have someone give him what he craves, no matter how extensive the terms. Regardless of his need for attention, Kibwe is a natural lover and not a fighter, though this isn't to say he wouldn't fight for the things he loves, which strongly includes his females. He loves them beyond any emotion he could put into words, they give him his life force and he will always feel indebted to them for giving him a sense of being.
Prompt Response:

"Thank you for your time your majesty."

Kibwe took a deep bow before he slowly turned on his heels and exited the Queen's territory. It took all of his energy to drag himself from the cave with his head held high. He was defeated, or in a matter of time would be. The male knew he was a strong fighter, strong enough to survive at least. Until this point, that had always been enough but now? Now he would have to fight for his own survival. The thought sent shivers down Kibwe's spine.

He couldn't lose his family, they had been through so much together. They knew each other's secrets and weaknesses. They'd witnessed each other in good times and bad. The idea of separation was something he would not entertain, he would fight this for as long as he was able. He would give his own life for these females.

Kibwe took in a deep breath of the fresh evening air, as he stared up the evening sky. It was a fond past time that he enjoyed with his group, and the mere thought of never being able to do so again nearly sunk his heart.

"I promise; I will not allow this to happen."

Kibwe stood tall as the wind blew through his fur, closing his eyes gently as he silently prayed for his promise to be carried to his loving family. Perhaps with their support he could be with them for the rest of their lives.
