This is very interesting to me. While it uses similar progressions and harmonies and such, I feel like Sakuraba really made this song stand out. The only thing that doesn't make me think of him is the main guitar riff itself. It isn't as weighty as something in, say, Iconoclasm. It doesn't sound as... what's the word... not rough, but real. Like, I can imagine Sakuraba rocking out there, but I can't imagine this one as well in that sense. That's not bad at all, it's just different from what he does, and I am in comparison mode. I actually really like the latter half of the song. It sounds like it gradually becomes more of its own beast, with its slower, more quiet bits that hold it out longer before heading back into the faster parts, while going back down in keys, almost like a little relief. I really like this song, and I think I'll give it an 9/10. What prevents me from scoring it higher is, well, I just like one half of the song more than the other.
Also, Roy, Dark Cloud is a PS2 game. I have it. It is a very simple dungeon crawler/building game where you delve into dungeons with a variety of characters and rebuild a destroyed world in a sims-esque way. Its very simple and can get more than a little repetitive, but I thought it was charming and fun. Not to mention Osmond is badass. He's a rabbit from the moon who wields guns, builds giant robots, and flies around with a helipack. Friggin' awesome. It also had a sequel, which I have never finished. I lost interest. It seemed like it was trying really, really hard to be invited to my birthday party, if you know what I mean. I just couldn't get into it. It didn't have the simple charm of the original. And on the subject of music, Wise Owl Forest from the first Dark Cloud is one of my favorite video game tunes. Unfortunately, all of the youtube versions of it seem to be in the wrong tune for some reason...
And all that Sakuraba talk earler made me realize that there is no Golden Sun music in this thread yet.

Perfect score. Aw yeah. cool
As for the DMC 3 Battle music... it kinda grows on ya. Especially the vocals part. I'm more fond of Devils Never Cry, but this is good too. 8.75/10
Continuing on from our DMC song... allow me to give you some fun facts about a particular favorite game of mine from which this next song comes from, since it does in fact Dante in it.
1) In exchange for having Dante appear in one of my personal favorite games (and insanely difficult to boot), Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne, DMC borrowed Kazuma Kaneko, who was responsible for the artwork in the SMT games, to create the devil trigger forms for both Dante and Virgil in DMC 3.
2) In the Japanese-only release of Nocturne, known as Nocturne Maniax Chronicle, rather have Dante fight you like in the English version, you face... Raidou Kuzunoha, from his self-titled games in the SMT series. He is... insanely powerful, and like most other protagonists in SMT, he's silent.
3) The protagonist of this game, SMT 3: Nocturne, appears as a secret boss in Digital Devil Saga. And he's claimed to be one of the strongest secret bosses ever made in the SMT universe, on par with Elizabeth from Persona 3, who can kill you with A FRIKKIN PIXIE.
What do all three of these have in common? They're all in the same battle that this theme plays in, depending on which edition you get.
Dante Battle from Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne by none other than the esteemed Shoji Meguro.

Ah, Leidrick, fun guy, the standard armoured big boss in any FE you fight. However, this is a very interesting song for me, the brassy trumpet part (totally makes sense xD, like after the main melody, it plays for like five seconds or so?) gives me a great visual of a climatic saber-like pirate duel between Leaf with the Blaggi Sword and Leidrick with the Lopto Sword (or if you're me, Mareeta with an uncursed sword with KARMA written all over it). For conveying an awesome scenery and being an awesome song, I'll give ya' a 9.5/10, the brass in FE5 is some of the best brass synthetic in SNES history IMO, next to Illusion of Gaia.
