Well this was... different.
To say the least, Zambarau was caught slightly off guard at all the chaotic movement. For a few moments, he merely stood in awe of it all before he quickly shook out his mane. With a deep but lighthearted laugh and a twitch of the tail, Barau leaped into action, darting at the first frog he saw.

Once again, Penda found himself beaten out to snatching up a frog, but he had to admit he was starting to get into the swing of things. The mud was bothering him less and less, and his keen eyes were quickly catching sight of frogs both near and far from him. It just so happened that the next frog was close to him, and he was quick to head for it. If he could just get to it before anyone else did, he was sure he'd be able to catch it! How hard could grabbing a frog be?

With three frogs so far from the contest, Kamili’s confidence had once again skyrocketed. Now he felt good about his chances - not that had hadn’t before though, it just seemed more certain that he would do well in the contest now. And now, even more braggy than usual, he started up his obnoxious showboating.
“”Maybe I should be chasing after something harder… to make it more fair to the others!” Be boasted, well within earshot of most of the other contestants. But his rant was cut short - he spotted another leaping frog and darted after it, not wanting to lose his lead now!

EEP! She'd over shot this frog, her tail waving in the air in an amusing manner, her fur getting muddier and muddier as she landed with a loud sploosh. Her paws sank in to the watery mud, pulling herself out of the squishy mud she laughs quietly and waits for the next frog to appear.

Prying her paws out of the mire Mwezi sighed. She'd been going at this for hours without having caught one frog yet and was beginning to get frustrated, finally. What more could she do that she hadn't already? This was seeming like a hopeless game and those who had managed to catch frogs thus far completely bewildered her.
Apparently they knew something about amphibians that she didn't. Rolling her shoulders and twisting her neck to ease the tension that crept into her muscles, bunched with annoyance and the strain of so many rapid, sudden movements in succession. All for naught, too.
Giving a frog sitting innocently near the trunk of a tree a hard look, Mwezi consider the merits of attempting to catch it. Chht. Evil creature..
Perhaps she would have given up the chase right there, if the damn thing hadn't had the audacity to stick out it's tongue at her. At. Her.
Awh that's it. I'm going to squeeze you 'til your eyes pop out! Snarling through gritted teeth Mwezi ran full force at the frog. It's eyes widened and for a minute it seemed as though she was really going to catch this one as it stared like a deer caught under the piercing gaze of a tiger, paralyzed with fear. Somehow though, like all the rest, this one managed to slip away as if it were made of air leaving Mwezi to crash full-force into the base of the tree, head first.

Suddenly, Vyoga was cut off by a familiar gray-yellow form and they came crashing to the ground. At first, he was too stunned to register what happened and just sat there, tangled up, ears twitching and staring at Chasasa.
"Sorry!" he muttered, starting to get himself back on his feet-- and then he was distracted by the appearance of another frog. Only partially set to go, he scrambled to get the frog.

Still stunned, he was slower getting back to what was going on than Vyoga- even when his friend muttered an apology and started to get up. It wasn't until Vyoga very nearly bowled him over again in an attempt to get the frog that he registered what was going on around him. Conflicted, he combined an effort to get away from Vyoga with an attempt to catch the frog- but the only success was putting some distance between him and Vyoga.
