Yeah, it's painfully hard to get going on Solia. I absolutely despise their Marketplace. At least Old Gaia's marketplace was easier to use. I wasn't here for 'Old Gaia' but I was here before Booty Grab and it was definitely easier to earn gold and items then compared to Solia now.
Then again, most of my stuff is from the few times I bought/earned Gaia Cash, not from constantly posting or BG, but I'm trying out hoarding now and it's been pretty successful.
It's probably because Gaia's been around longer, but our gold shop items are much better in terms of diversity and quality compared to Solia's too. Some of our gold shop items and eyes could have easily been thrown into a cash item.
(Well some of the eyes are based on Cash Shop eyes too, though, long after they came out, because people loved them so much.)

When I started my first ever quest was a dark cape, it took me forever to get the damned thing. Missed out on the halo for it!

Some of the eyes here are gorgeous, I love the ones I have on right now because they look very RIG item like and they're not.

I usually use the Monae eyes, they look quite nice and they're cheap too. Your eyes look very nice too :3
Usually I go for eyes that don't look all super anime-esque.
Mana Seed is probably my least favorite item when it comes to eyes xD

Your avatar in general is quite nice. I've never seen anyone portray an entire bird before,
and another reason I prefer Gaia to Solia is because we have the items to do that
instead of every item being super pretty-frilly stuff. Even with the high saturation
of dresses and skirts we've been getting for a long time, we still have other sorts of
items to fall back on.

If I may add my 2cents/pence worth here. If they had taken the time they took to develop the alchemy and put it into developing guilds, we would have been a lot happier... Why did we need alchemy now anyway?

Update on the guild system -

I asked in tonight's Ask The Admin thread, and had confirmation from two different staff members that they (being Gaia staff/admin/devs I would assume) have a few things that they want to get done before they start working on guilds, because an overhaul/update to the guild system would be a lot of work and (presumably) take a bit of time.

We didn't really need it ._.
I guess you could argue it's a gold sink but honestly, when has a gold sink
really helped that much?
They could have put items like Minthamella in the cash shop. Erebus' Moon, too. At least they wouldn't be as super rare as they are now, there would be a semblance of a chance for some people to get them. It's only widened the gap between who's clearly rich and clearly poor.

Anyway, I really wish it could have been guild updates instead too, the only
thing Alchemy has done is cause a whole lot of frustration.

Really, what 'few things' could they be talking about?
Updates to the Outfit Marketplace would be nice, but I doubt that is one of them.

Because that would be too easy.

Not many people liked the chance factor of getting Faust's bottle from the re-released bundle but it still happened ): Pistolera's Revenge was like that too, I think.

It's weird though. There have been times in the past where people bitched and moaned that not getting a certain item was unfair, or taking away certain items was unfair, and it was fixed promptly, but people have been protesting and racking their brains for great suggestions for Alchemy, Guilds, Towns, and other neglected/broken features and nothing is being done about it. For years on end all we get is the equivalent of a 'Gone Fishing' sign.

Gaia staff has been able to fix things before and do great things that many people
loved, so why the heck can't they keep doing it? Why is it mainly those features that get left
in the dust?
Heck, even the Cash Shop itself is sort of dusty. The only thing that gets changed is the
main page, there are still things in it from years ago that haven't moved.

Ugh. Don't get me STARTED on the cash shop. I despise that they release so many EIs and RIGs instead of gold-only items.

I like RIGs and EIs, I just wish they would slow down with them.
For the time it would take to make so many items centered around one theme (I guess the latest one
was some dark casino thing) they could have made a few really great EIs or a nice
gold shop update. When was the last time Dernier Cri got some love?

If it weren't for RIGs, we'd be stuck with crap like Little Lucie all over the place,
because that seems to be what Gaia thinks the majority of users want. RIGs let
a wide array of item types to get distributed in a short amount of time. While
RIGs aren't fun to play, you can make money off of them by hoarding them,
reselling them, and then buying what you want with the profits.

Plus, some of the cheaper RIG items are pretty awesome. I'm glad I'm not
one of those people that wants the latest multi-million RIG pet, because honestly
many RIG pets are severely overrated. They could have been stuffed in a gold-only
pet shop for maybe 25-50k. They don't look that special.

PL, I agree, they hire people that are too specialized nowadays. Whatever happened to developers that knew how to code? My daughter even knows the coding here better than most of the developers. Hell, she graduated this past year and knows what their freaking coding is. She knows it's a b***h and a half to do, but that's the way they wanted it and now it's their ******** problem to solve. The problem is, they have incompetent programming people that can't do it. in short...the guilds are ********.. Pardon my language, but that's the truth.. And according to the MPAA, that is PG13 rating folks, I checked!

if its so complicated it cant be fixed without alot of work then they should just elete everything now and start from scratch. so long as they tell us beforehand so we can tell other guild members and try to save information thats on important threads

You don't understand, we would basically lose everything if they did that, start from scratch on EVERYTHING. And we would lose access to the guilds for a couple of MONTHS!
