[1v1] David & Goliath [Shikoba/Yuzhi] (FIN)

Down he went along with a streak of silver, it sliced against her side ripping clothes and and slicing skin causing it to bleed. She stared down at the tear with a small quiet sigh and then glanced over at Shikoba. Then as if to drive a point home she picked up a pebble and flicked it at him.

For the dirt he flung in her face.

Well, it could have been worse, he supposed as he rubbed the spot on his cheek where the rock had struck. She could have dug her spear into him where he laid - and now Yuzhi was going to regret it. As much pain as he was in, Shik had been taught to give no quarter regardless; if a War horseman was to go down, they would go down fighting.

With a surprising rush of strength, the giant lunged forward at her lower body, pushed onward with a flap of his wings, and dug his nails deep into her calf to try and bring her down.

She had desummoned her weapon for the time being seeing him fling himself toward her but knowing she could not properly dodge in time she took him head on. The sting of pain coursed through her body, she gave a bit of a shudder from it but still... Yuzhi wasn't going to just let him rend her apart. One of her legs shoved up kicking against whatever part of him she could reach as forcefully as she could. Her sight was hindered by his proximity so her aiming might be a tad on the questionable side.

The kick destabilized his FEAR shield at last, which would make most stop before actual harm could begin. Shik apparently missed the thrill of a close fight, however, as even left vulnerable he did not sway from his onslaught. Being in an awkward position himself, the giant just clawed at whatever was in reach, keeping one hand dug into her leg.

It seemed close range or not she was not to fight in the least elegant way possible, her body shuddering lightly as she balled her hand into a fist and swung it toward the side of his face, "GIVE IT UP. I WON." She cried out rather suddenly as if sensing his weakness and capitalizing on it in the best way as she could.

She felt the hit impact firmly her hand exploding into a bit of pain of its own.

Mere moments from impact he recalled something his mentor had told him: Never be reckless, even when close to death. One wrong move was all it took to find yourself compromised.

Well, Master, your pupil still had things to learn.

With a cry and a most distinct crack, the giant was downed, hitting the ground like a log. Yuzhi could lord over him later that she had won, but never could it be said that he backed out or acquiesced easily to her command, stupid as that ended up being. But then, Shik preferred action, not thinking.

Again she found herself with a downed Giant and she just simply flopped to the floor panting a little bit gathering her strength again so she could at least sit up. Calming down as sweat and tidbits of blood streaked down on her, some of the sweat hit her sounds causing a sweet sting of pain that she ignored other than to twitch just ever-so-slightly.

She was faced with a decision. Either she could leave her sparring partner out cold on the ground and leave him to wake up with the shame of knowing that he'd lost to a Conquest Horseman or she could stay and make sure he'd wake up alright.

Crossing her arms over her chest she just frowned a bit. It wasn't certain he'd do her the same favor but then again she wasn't him and thus...She just waited for Shikoba to wake up.

In the first minute the bloody symbols that had been painted before from his FEAR faded away. Four minutes later the log stirred with a groan and a twitch of his wings. Ever so slowly Shikoba levered himself up with a hand, the throb of his injured leg more like a dull ache now, though he could still feel where the blood had dried - it would take more time yet to fix that part. With a wince he turned himself over into a half-lying, half-sitting position, propped by his arms; and when his eyes could focus a bit more clearly, they blinked at the sight of his opponent still there.

"Hmm. Stayed to make sure you could gloat?" he asked with all seriousness, rubbing the enlarged area of his jaw where she had delivered the fierce punch. That was going to hurt for a while.

The hand she had used to hit him into the realms of unconsciousness with had throbbed with pain the entire time but she dealt with it quietly for the time being simply resting the wounded hand on her lap and watched as he awoke. At his question she just shook her head.

"Gloating doesn't get me anywhere, it is for those that enjoy resting on their victories instead of striving to improve yet more," she said simply with a small snort before she also added "besides your acknowledgment that I have bested you this time is more than enough for me."

"So . . . you waited just for that?" His brow quirked at her, one eye staying shut from the pain. He honestly had assumed that she would have left in the end; it wasn't as if Yuzhi had needed his word on anything before. "Well. I concede you won this round, Yuzhi," he said with a little nod, deciding that discarding the nicknames was respectful in this case. "And in the coming fights I would be honored to fight alongside you."

Yuzhi gave a small laugh and shook her head, "No. Not just for that. I ... wanted to make sure you woke up alright," she said with a bit of a shrug, "just because I had won a spar doesn't mean I would just leave you there to live or die. It is hard to keep around companions you can trust in a fight if you did that."

Slowly and achingly she started to get up to her feet and she started to move toward Shikoba a hand thrust out toward him, "Come, let's go find ourselves some food and drink."

He wanted to open his mouth and point out that winning fights and winning trust was different, but the punch had really done a number on his jaw. Shik settled for a little smile and nod instead and took her offered hand, grunting with pain as he shakily got up. He would have to wait a moment to properly eat, but sitting up and off the ground was a step forward than lying on the ground.

Once he was up she just simply lead the way forward. She wasn't really in for food just yet as much as she just wanted something to drink. Sparring was thirsty work. Also? Perhaps some ice or something equally cooling for her hand could be somehow acquired would be nice. He was just as hard headed in reality just as he was metaphorically.
