Quote:

3-4: You take a bit of dark red, blood looking liquid from a transparent vial

7-8: There's an open box with very hot pale sand inside probably being heated by an invisible torch. In the middle of the box there's a small pile of incredibly hot pebbles (of course, you touched them to try, right?), and an empty bowl sitting on top of it. You decide to put your ingredients in the bowl, and wait for what is going to happen.

Hmmm...

Looking over the other ingredients, he finally chose a vial containing a dark red liquid (he did NOT want to know what it was or where it was from thank you). A moment of thought, then he combined all of his ingredients in a bowl set over hot stones (again, he did not want to know).

He watched the mixture, his tail twitching perhaps a bit impatiently. Was it supposed to do that? Sheridan had no idea, not that he even knew what ingredients he was working with. He supposed the result did not look terrible, still, there was NO way he was touching it, not a chance.

(( score: 23 ))

Quote:

19-26: TIER 3. Your ingredients merged together forming a strange, half solid substance that looks like some delicious curds. It's soft and creamy, yet solid enough to be given a form, yet something tells you better not touch it with the bare hands...

It seemed a bit steep of a price to pay for a bit of fun, but the witch wanted to repay the kindness of the Horsewoman's visit to her booth with one of her own, so Belladonna dropped her silver and smiled at the Clanswoman. Well, if she got to dabble in mystery potions it wasn't all that steep a price. Only problem was... None of these bottles were labeled!
Eyebrows puckered with concentration as Belladonna inspected each bottle, trying to figure out what could be in them, which ones were bad or which ones would aid her. Trying to view them from a witchy standpoint didn't help as she didn't recognize a single one! With a huff Belladonna shrugged her shoulders and just grabbed a few. That always turned out alright!

Except for only not... The witch had grabbed some seeds and a plant smelling liquid, mixed them together and... It had only turned to mush! Gross, brown, foul smelling mush.
Belladonna frowned at the mixture before she stealthily poured it into a nearby plant. When she straightened, she noticed Eisheth staring and tried to cover it up with... Um...
"Might I have one of these?" Belladonna asked with a smile as she pointed to the now empty flask. "Could use one for my own... Potion making..."

Onto the new booth it was. Soren slowed his stride, not making his ridiculously large steps his tall frame was capable of, guiding Neru through the crowds. The nice thing about being a tall and almost angry looking horseman was that people tended to get out of his way, though it seemed his Conquest style clothing had tempered that slightly. Still they arrived unscathed as he led her up to the counter, eyeing the various materials.

"Hello," he said gruffly as he set down payment, trying to at least be civil as it was another horseman. Once again the funds covering for both of them.

The kissing booth had been kind in that aspect.

It was quite satisfying watching others moving out of their way as they walked along the rows of booths. On her own the priestess was a small thing. Back in the home land that made little difference, but here it seemed she was hardly noticed. Her own clan had understood what it meant to be a priestess, but the other's, and worst yet the students, didn't pay the role the respect it deserved. What she was used to having.

When they reached the counter and Soren yet again paid for the both of them the mare gave the guardian a squeeze at his elbow before looking over the spread of supplies and ingredients before them.

Of the 8 available the priestess selected the two that reminded her the most of their old home. Something white and powdery that smelled suspiciously like bone, and a fragrant leaf that made Neru think of smoke. With her own items selected, she glanced towards Soren beside her, curious what he would choose.

Soren glanced over at what the priestess chose and then chose the exact same ingredients.

It was not cheating, he just had no idea what he was doing.

Neru smirked as the guardian selected the same two ingredients as she'd just chosen. She debated commenting, but she didn't make a habit of baiting Soren. He was exempt from her moods and harshness, one of the very few. All the same, she felt the need to say something of it. "Nice choice."

Now she had to decide what to do with the ingredients.

A box of heated sand and stone with an empty bowl looked promising, and she tipped the contents of both selected ingredients inside, mixing them with a dark, blood red looking liquid. After that there was only to wait to see what happened.

If the choice had been good enough for a Priestess it was certainly good enough for a Guardian. Still, she had called him out on the copying so he tried to go for something different. He poured some sort of oily substance in with his dry ingredients and then attempted to fry the entire mess.

It was not a good move.

A rank smell began to fill the air and hastily he took the concoction over to a nearby plant to dump it on it. It seemed as if the plant was starting to wilt as it began to seep in.

Soren was just not going to talk about this. Not at all. Though a muscle jumping in his jaw might have given away a bit of how he felt about alchemy at the moment.

Distracted by the mess of a potion Soren had managed to make, along with effect the substance had on a plant he tipped the whole thing into, Neru didn't notice what her own mixture had become until after she'd attempted to sooth the big man's ego with a stroke of her hand along his arm. She'd have liked to offer him some kind words, but nothing came to mind at the moment, and it was really better just to hold her tongue.

Now that her attention wasn't split she peered into the bowl she'd poured her ingredients into, eyes widening gently at the contents. It looked like creamy curdles of some sort, and if she didn't know where exactly they'd come from they might have looked appetizing. "Well then." The box, bowl, and contents were all slid across the counter and away from her.

Pressing her lips in a thin line, the priestess turned back to the guardian. "Shall we go and see what else our kin have come up with?"

Soren was still a bit upset at his foul concoction, but he was not surprised to see that a Priestess had made something appealing. It only fit, one of her station well able to make quality items. "We'll make our way to them," he agreed.

With her hand ever present on his arm they disappeared back into the crowds. A priestess and a guardian with a rare chance of just enjoying a few festivities together.

After they had walked the circuit of booths, Mei's father finally stopped at one of the booths. He had come to the Festival and all, so why not do something other than walk around catching up with his daughter?

When Mei saw just exactly who's booth he'd stopped at she went tight lipped. He just had to pick this booth didn't he? She'd not even told him or mother about Eisheth and her's relationship yet. And....she wasn't sure just how he might react. Especially if he found out now. "Uhh...you sure you want to do this booth father? I mean you might make something explode."

"Alright then, you do it and show me how. Without exploding something." He raised a curious eyebrow at her. Mei's reaction to this booth was curious. But he shrugged it off for now. Towering over the table of things set out, the much taller and much older Jiang Shi sniffed lightly. What was that smell?

Pursing her lips, Mei stepped up to the booth. Quickly grabbing some stuff that looked like bug wings and sand that smelt like rotting meat. Hopefully her hands wouldn't smell like it later. She glanced at Eisheth quickly before turning back to her father who stood towering next to her. "You gotta pick these ingredients first. I don't know what most of them are but they don't smell all that great."

"Now what?" He peered curiously at the ingredients. His long white ponytail falling over his shoulder as he leaned forward.

"Now you do stuff with them. Mix em together...." Reaching over she flipped his ponytail back over his shoulder. Not wanting him to catch it on fire or something. She picked up the heavy bottle and poured a bit of the plant smelling oil in with her bug wings and sand. Not satisfied with that, she poured a bit more. Mixing everything together as she went.

Instantly he covered his nose. The smell that the concoction created was...revolting. This didn't seem like much of a fun game if it made you want to bury your head in the dirt from the smell! "Ugh, get rid of it. I think my nose is going to fall off." Before Mei could do anything he reached over with a large hand and dumped the mixture into a nearby plant that swayed back and forth. The little screeching noise it made caused a deadpan look to appear on the Jiang Shi's face. Turning his head, he locked eyes with Eisheth. "What kind of plant is this? Did you grow it yourself?"

The ghoul froze in place. She had hoped he wouldn't say anything to the Horsewoman and they could just move on and maybe she could explain later but it seemed that wasn't going to be the case.

PRIZES FOR 11/9 / OOC POST

NOTE: ICLy Eisheth isn't sure, if horsemen are supposed to pay in her booth, since its main purpose is fundraising for horsemen's needs, and a part of the earning goes to Amityville anyway, so practically, that doesn't look profitable (aka you move money from one of your pockets to another, but have to pay a fee to someone else for just moving). So, I let it for Horsemen players to decide whether they'd like to pay or not: if you don't feel like, Eisheth would be ok with it, but it if you do, it can create a funny awkward moment.

When Soren appeared at her booth accompanying a priestess, Eisheth was in the middle of topping up the desert rose essence: a slow process that required all the attention, since just a single drop falling on the counter could easily set everything on fire, an essence was extremely flammable. Unfortunately, when she finished both already finished their experiments and faded away; their appearance left the alchemist with strange feeling. First, she was quite sure Soren would appear with Heidla, but the priestess he was with Eisheth could not recognized, and yet, she looked very familiar. Her second question was, why in the world were they paying to participate in Booth activities? Her main aim was to raise some funds for their, Lost Clan, needs, however she, - as all the other Booth owners, - were carefully instructed by a school representative that in exchange for permission to open the booth in the first place, a good part of their earning will go straight in Amityville budget (at least, Eisheth hoped it will go to budget, and not into someone's pocket). So, it simply didn't seem to be reasonable: paying money to themselves AND to the school at the same time. It's not like they owe Amityville or Halloween anything for rent, or whatever, they got their reserve for free, and there was no mention about paying. And they were actually trying to cut the costs!

On the other hand, she couldn't manage to think of any reasons why was Soren dressed in a... well... what seemed to be a Conquest outfit. She could even understand that, if he were walking hand-in-hand with one of lovely Conquest ladies, but Conquest outfit and a Death priestess simply didn't puzzle together in her head: that was just weird. Probably she has to ask about what's going on later: dedicating herself to Lair experiments she might simply miss the social part of life.

Yayoi

Just as she thought about it, her own "social part of life" appeared straight behind her counter. And Mei wasn't alone this time. One quick glance over old and respectably looking Jiang Shi proved horseman's worst expectations: it clearly was Mei's father.

The situation was pretty funny: first, Eisheth had no idea of what exactly Mei told her relatives about their relationship (in case she told anything at all!). Second, she had no idea about Mei's father's - and Jiang Shi's in general - attitude towards horsemen. Her natural instincts were telling her it is just yet another Halloweener: he might be dressed fancy and look respectable, but he's naturally on a lower level of life than she was, and there was nothing to get worked up about. However, observing Mei's face that was even more pale than normally (of Queen, she never thought that would be possible), she realized the student is having a hard time. In fact, in a way it should be much more stressful for Mei than Hunters' attack. And Eisheth simply could not let her down: that would be as disgraceful as leaving your beloved in a fight.

"That is a Desert rose, a plant from my homeland, Famine island, though you can sometimes find it in Halloween realm, too. Its leaves are often dried and used to create an extremely flammable essence", she replied. Perhaps she was sounding a bit arrogant, but that was only natural to every horsemen, and everyone slowly got used to it like one gets used to the foreign accent. Also, Eisheth tried to polite, as much as she was able to. "And yes, that is a basic crop, I grew it myself, of course".

((OOC: Oooh, sorry, sent posts in a wrong order! Please, consider Eisheth's talk with Belladoona ICLY happening BEFORE Mei and her father appeared!))

Eisheth was a bit surprised to see Belladonna, the fashion freak witch, at her booth: she thought the ghoul wouldn't be interested in serious things like Alchemy. The student was full of surprises: the more Eisheth knew her, the better was the impression. Well.. of course, her alchemy sucked. But same was true for most of her visitors: halloweeners were quite hopeless in Alchemy. May be not all of them. But mostly. Witch's intention to practice more was good, though the alchemist didn't really believe it can help in this case, however her words about her own potion making made the horseman curious. She wasn't as arrogant, as some of kin, who would simply die of laughing hearing about smb's else potion making; in fact, she learned a lot simply being interested in what the world could provide her with.

"Your own potion making?", Eisheth asked. A moth froma little coud that was always accompanying her landed on ghoul's forehead, as it was going to study her. Eisheth was silent for a moment, like if she was remembering something, and then put her arm inside of her stomach that she used as a big pocket, and started to search for something. "Here!", she passed the ghoul a tiny vial with a dark essence inside. "That is Rosebud oil, a very useful thing to practice with. Just add a drop of it in any potion: it will provide your mix with a proper reaction even if just a little bit of ingredient are used: this way you can see what makes what without spending too much ingredients, and risking to blow everything off", the alchemist explained. "So, what's your field of potion making?"
