Gren dived forwards to rescue the fallen rarec, catching the links in her jaws and ducking out of the way of raven wings passing overhead. The raven Qara, alighted on a stone, his eyes wild and beak clacking. He strutted back and forth, arching his wings.
“Death, death!” he shrieked, his caw a grotesque laugh.
Gren curled a lip and reached a paw out to knock him aside. She needn’t have bothered.
The snake that had been hiding in amongst the rocks lashed out from the shadows, her jaws snapping closed on feathers. The raven gave a startled qwork, and took flight again, screaming and cursing before rejoining the mass of his chaotic brethren.
Gren, with a low growl, secured her grip on the necklace and tried to edge around the hissing snake. She was a huge, scaled thing and had eyes fixed on the large female. The python struck and her reach was further than the lioness estimated. The teeth lodged into her shoulder, packing a punch strong enough to stagger her sideways. A paw came up again, slashing the snake just behind the head, and then she was sidling away, limping even as the serpent bled into the dirt.
---
Across from Gren’s momentary retreat, Rokopelli was fading fast. The hyenas had been the first to move in for the kill and now one wing was broken, hanging limp at her side, and the wound in her throat was beyond repair now. Darkness was creeping up on her now, narrowing her vision and upsetting her balance.
When Gever came for her, she did not even see him, though she felt the result, her body twisting; reacting to defend itself. And then there was another one there in front of her, going for her face, and with one last burst – even as she felt her paws going out from under her – was to try to get them away from her.
Her mind reached for Panna, felt pain there, and she knew, then, that her dear friend had joined the fray. Hide, she pleaded, please hide. I’ll find you again someday. She did not know if the snake had heard or would even obey, but she hoped desperately that she would.

Double 4s: Multikill! Roko remaining HP: 0!
Daudr was furious, and furiously happy all at once. Blood fury helped her ignore the staggering winding the goddess had given her, and at the last moment she charged forward again, diving, and clamping her teeth into the torn remains of the downed immortal's throat. Blood poured out almost fast enough to make her hack and release her hold, but the wild, wide-eyed beast in her would not allow that. Not even for a minute.
At the same time some green lioness dove for the goddess' ruined throat, the Kaar left off her clawing at the poor god's face, sneering down before snapping in close, her teeth aimed for the base of the skull where it met the spine. A swift end, if it was clean, and if she could get her teeth around it while the green Braak was at her throat.
In the end it would be hard to say what ended the immortal. The initial wound? The numerous gashes and traumas? The vicious choke hold? Or perhaps the swift crunch to the back of the neck. Either way, in an instant the goddess wouldn't have to worry at all any more.

The mass of bodies congregating around the fallen goddess was intense and Muunokhoi was struggling to get in close enough, shoving and snapping, his attention distracted by ravens that kept colliding with his head. He had reared up onto his hind legs to smash a feathered demon out of the sky when Koka came at him.
Enraged, the dark brown lion swung around, a paw already unsheathed to kill the wretched beast mid air, and instead came face to face with a strange lioness. Not a raven at all. Still, his reaction of surprise had come too late and his aimed strike did not falter.
“Qara!” he bellowed.
And then the large, three-eyed raven was back, diving straight for the black lioness, aiming for her eyes.
Behind him, the Nergui had completed their glory hunt.
The goddess, Rokopelli, was dead.

(I'll be rolling for the raffle later on today, so keep a look out for that ^_^ )
----------
"You kruird have ksoaead down, kakora!" Muunokhoi spat, the venom in his tone and his face clear even his words were not. He took a heavy step forwards, a muscle in his hind leg twitching beneath the wound she had inflicted on him. "We kroae two srek day. Grurae is kema."
He meant to kill her and claim further glory.
That was, of course, until the steel-blue lion, Tomorbaatar, slipped up from where he had been watching events unfolding. A small, dark raven was perched upon his shoulder, the Kaar Oma's very pet. She sat quiet and still, her eyes tracing the ravens and other bird species that were beginning to dissipate now that their job was done. Qara, the huge raven who had led them as best as he could, was on the ground now, screeching angrily at the black lioness. He had wanted those eyes.
"Get uis of kae way, Tomorbaatar." The warlord snapped, baring his teeth.
"Wait uma moment, Muunokhoi Oma. Do aeui not kaa her?"
"I kaa a daod thing."
Tomorbaatar frowned, shaking his head and stepping forwards to physically stand between them. "Take rar as dhlurr. Mchawi Oma vuird be vraokad."
There was a tense moment, stirred by the angry growls of Gren as she tugged the artifacts off of the feathered, bloodied corpse.
"Toda her. Baos her. Kerr her ek she duak not kibkes," the brown lion snapped and then he was turning away, moving to inspect the prey and gather his troops for the victorious march home.
Tomorbaatar turned to Koka, switching to the common tongue with ease, his accent perfectly mirroring that what Koka would have been used to. "It seems he has decided not to kill you." He smiled, but the charm had an edge to it. "Though do not thank me yet. You are dhlurr now. A slave." He turned to seek our Gable amongst the masses. "You will make a fine slave."

They had done it. The goddess fell before them, the life bleeding out of her into the dirt. Los had never felt so alive and powerful before. Here, with these lions and hyenas, they had killed a goddess. He had never really thought about immortals before he had joined the Nergui, but now to know he had helped bring one down...even if he didn't get any praise from the lions for his help, he knew this memory would stick with him for years to come until he was killed or died of old age. He glanced at his daughter, pleased to see the blood covering her face and mane. She had done very well, especially for one that wasn't fully grown yet. She'd be a powerful asset to the Nergui.
Hind leg stinging from the wound the dying lioness had inflicted, Krieg lifted her head proudly as Gren began to pull the artifacts off the dead lioness. She had helped. She had helped quite a bit, in fact, by distracting the goddess and turning at just the right moment for a devastating blow. She had also helped bring her down during her final bid for an escape. The blood on her muzzle made her see red, craving more battles such as this, ones that required the use of her mind and her body.
She glanced over at Muunokhoi, who seemed to have some issue with a lioness that looked a bit beat-up, but she had no concern for those events. Now was the time to go home and sing for the glory of the Nergui. She had tasted godflesh and she was hungry for more.
