OOC: Wall o' text again, and Mouse kept poking me... Art ate me up 8D;; The priestess shrugged. "If her mother named her, I've not paid attention to what it was." Frankly, if she could get away with it, she'd call them all Thrall. The only one she'd TRULY paid attention to the name of was Anundr. She gave a bit of a sneer at the prospect, "Perhaps you could ask her when you get back home... It'd be as good a method as any..." She motioned. "After all, Amaranth came with a name." What did she care, personally, if more than the one they were keeping even had a name? The dark lioness began to open her mouth to protest that her cubs had names... Then stopped, closing it again. It wouldn't do well to get smacked for talking out of turn right now.mouselet Quote just to fill space, I know you have them off ;p Susu smiled at Azrael, crossing her paws. "I wouldn't know the delima of a small litter, I'm afraid..." She'd have to restort to cub theft more often... It made things a lot EASIER. She wasn't entirely sure her body had even recovered from her litter. She glanced to Drifa, then back to Azrael, then back to Drifa again. She WAS clearly interested in the little loud-mouth... She scratched at her throat with a forepaw. "Well, if you want the little furball, Drifa... I will relent on the one, and you may take him." She shoved the cub toward the lioness. "Congratulations. No returns." Her gaze turned to Phosphor, a dark smile spreading on her face. "A weak Thrall could stand to learn a lesson from somebody younger on how to be a GOOD Thrall." She pushed the pale cub over. "Consider him yours, Phosphor!" She had confidence in his ability to train the cub. While she'd never known his present adult Thrall's history, or might never know, whatever had gone on in their past together had turned the white lion into an obedient Thrall. She watched sadly as three of her cubs were placed in new homes - New masters. This left two, her oldest that would stay home, and her youngest, Olaf. What would become of little Olaf? She glanced at the group, looking to the other Thralls, before her eyes fell on a new face. She was certainly a lioness with a striking marking - Like her chest had been ripped open to spill blood as somebody went for her heart. It was almost perfect to see such a marking right now, and she tenderly pulled Olaf close, grooming his pink mane. The priestess' ears folded back as the Thrall addressed her - Such a spine this one had! "Bousvor, I would have hoped that would have been trained out of her by now. She's a poor influence on other Thralls if she addresses those above her so BOLDLY and IMPOLITELY." She shifted, claws pricking the dirt just a bit as she returned the nod to the Reaver. His apology was accepted. "Clearly she is a stubborn one..." Much like her family's own Thrall... Brown eyes lit up and the priestess rose as she spied Lucivar. "Ah, Captain Lucivar! You grace us with your presence!" She motioned to the last two cubs, the oldest of which having rejoined his mother and brother. "I am doling out cubs, yes. There's only one left available, though. The one with the pink hair there." In his mother's paws, Olaf peeked out... And promptly shrank down. He was used to Reavers, Freeborns, and the crazy lady, as well as the presence of other Thralls. A title like captain made him nervous. So did all these lions, really. The longer they were around, the more he feared. What would become of him, as his brothers and sister were sent off? He spared a glance at his remaining brother, not wanting to part with him... Not yet.

Chayah's heart broke when she saw the look on the mother's face. There couldn't have been anything sadder than the look on Amaranth's face. She'd seen the mother want to protest that the cubs had names. She empathized, knowing that feeling of being trapped by the rules of being a thrall. The black lioness felt like she was intruding, even by hanging back. She watched the mother groom her pink-haired son, and the cub as he shied away. Chayah lowered her eyes and stole a glare at Suzu before quickly glancing away. What kind of pride allowed this sort of behavior? Her already ill-feelings about her new pride intensified.

Ensis nodded silently in reply to Susu's lack of interest in what the young cub's mother might have named her. It wasn't what he'd have done in the same position, but who was he to judge another's choices? Besides, he had not been that long in this pride, and the little lioness was his first thrall. "I see," he answered. "My thanks." Then the white male turned his attention to the little girl now before him. "Come, and we shall see you to your new home." The matter of a name could wait until they were in private. The Reaver had been passing by when she heard the noise of many lions talking at once and saw the crowd. Intrigued, the striped lioness came closer. It seemed, once she listened a bit more, that the Priestess was giving away cubs. Thrall cubs, to be specific. Asmar currently had no Thralls herself, not after that damnable lion from her birth pride had escaped. The injury to her pride still smarted and brought a snarl to her face as she thought about it. Still, Hroarr had pointed out many of the ways she'd gone wrong and the lioness had to agree that maybe - just maybe! - she'd been too cruel. But who was to say he wouldn't have done the same to her if she'd been given to him, as if she were no more than a possession, as a banu? But a cub now, a cub born to be a Thrall wouldn't have any of those associations, at least not for Asmar. So maybe, the Reaver grudgingly admitted to herself, she'd have less reason and interest in being cruel. Shouldering other lions and their Thralls aside, Asmar made her way to the front of the crowd. "Looks like you've still got at least one to get rid of," she observed a little louder than necessary. "I'll take him off your paws."

BousvorHe rumbled at the remark from the priestess. "I had hoped it was going better than this. Now I see it has not." The tone of his voice promised it would be corrected as soon as they were away from the public. It was his first thrall after all, and completely wild caught. He sighed to himself. Really he had thought she was adjusting well. AshtaSuddenly a cub was pushed toward his master. Was this the one Phosphor had chosen? Ashta peered curiously at the pale little cub. He didn't move from his spot as he watched how the cub reacted to his master.

As the Priestess explained which of the tiny balls of fur was the one available, he watched the two boys, nodding slowly. "I take it he is healthy and weaned?" He may be a male, and a Captain, but Lucivar did know the basics of cub rearing, if only because he saw mothers and their young around the pride between Vikings. And of course, he still possessed vague memories of his own cubhood, for all that it was a lifetime ago. Stepping forwards, ignoring the pushing and shoving going on all around, he bent his head to regard the tiny pink-headed cub up close. Lifting pale blue eyes he regarded the mother. She looked heart-broken and scared so he gave her a brief small smile, and for all that he was a large, muscular Captain heavy with scars, the expression was, if not soft, at least it was reassuring. "I'll take the boy. Though understand he will receive more Reaver training with me than he might with some other lion. I need a useful thrall, and once grown he will accompany me on many Vikings. For that, I require him to be strong and to be able to protect himself and any winnings I acquire. He will also be in charge of freshly captured Thralls." There was no need to state the fact that new thralls could be very violent, and the pink haired boy would be required to be able to subdue and control them for long periods of time until the party arrived back at the pride. In the Priestess wished for a more pride-bound education for the cub, Lucivar would probably not be the correct owner for him. But if she was happy for the kid to be properly educated in warfare alongside the typical Thrall education, then Lucivar would be the perfect choice. Looking again at the terrified cub he tipped his head. Yes, he could see this one being very useful... He rather hoped the Priestess agreed. (Sorry this is a little late, I had the flu)

She had been lying on the floor, waiting for the pain to stop in her head and for the world to stop spinning. It subsided for the moment, and Kisukari slowly rose to her paws. She had made a mistake - a horrible mistake - in disobeying Bousvor. She knew that, but she knew that she wouldn't stop disobeying him when she thought he was wrong. There were so many things he could do; his position as a Reaver (or a captain some day) gave him the chance to make a real difference, but he just preferred to turn his cheek. She hated him a little for that. For not even trying.
It took her a few moments before she could finally rise, shaky as she was. She focused her blurred vision on Bousvor, meeting his gaze (or where she assumed his gaze was, being unable to see quite clearly).
"I will return to the den." There wasn't anything else she could do. He had put her in her place...at the lowest rung of the ladder. She could do no good here; it would just involve watching each cub get given away to a stranger.
She waited for him to consent before slowly moving; focusing all her attention on simply walking away.

BousvorBousvor kept an eye on Kisu as she started to get to her feet. If she decided to continue, he would deliver another lesson. Thankfully though, she was quite subdued. He regretted it had come to this between them. There would be some strain and high tensions until it got worked out.
He nodded his consent and turned his attention back to the cubs. After a few moments the tawny lion rose to his feet and padded away.

OOC: Yes, I fail, this took a long time to reply to xD; Brown eyes momentarily narrowed as two different lions vied for the claim on the last cub up to be adopted. She knew that both were Reavers - In fact, one was a captain! She knew Lucivar quite well, too. He was older blood, born in the pride to lions that, as far as she knew, were native to the pride. Asmar, on the other paw, was a newer member. She listened to Lucivar's words and weighed them. Trained like a Reaver, the cub would at least feel loyalty to the pride... Of course, he could also end up lacking the loyalty and take the training to free himself and run off. But on the other paw... He was already fairly obedient. A slave that eventually became a Reaver would, perhaps, go on to be VERY loyal to his pride. She glanced back at Asmar, frowning a bit. She didn't know the details, but something had become of the striped lioness' last Thrall... She shoved the cub towards Lucivar. "I have made my choice. Lucivar will take the cub... He has a strong plan for this one, and even as a Reaver-trained Thrall... He'll know his place." Olaf's front paws tucked up to his chest as he was pushed forward, looking up at the captain with wide eyes. After a moment, he gave a shaky sheepish smile, waving. It was the only greeting he gave, as being verbal made him fear a bit that he'd be reprimanded for speaking out of turn. Susu wouldn't likely do it this time, though - He was no longer her concern for punishing.OOC: And now, finally, I will compile the raffle list for the two cubs to be homed OOCly!

Lucivar watched as the Priestess thought about his offer, only briefly glancing at the female reaver before dismissing her. It wasn't as if she could influence the Priestess and Lucivar was only interested in whether or not he would be taking the cub. When the tiny ball of fluff was shoved at him he dipped his head to the pale lioness. "I will train him well." After one last look at the slumped Thrall mother curled up with her one remaining cub he dipped his head and caught the tiny cub up in his powerful jaws. Turning he simply walked away, his long, casual stride severing the young thrall from his family. Soon enough the Captain was lost to sight in the general thong of the pride. (Grats to Mags and Chaos!)
