You poor deprived child!!! There's skanking-a-plenty at all the shows I go to (I can direct you if you're anywhere near New Jersey). It's the most fun you'll ever have while getting the snot beaten out of you.

Also, two-tone rocks! Some people say that's where the checker pattern came from. Two-tone ska bands often have black and white members (hence, two-tone). The checkerboard pattern was supposed to represent the two races working together.

Hey, is Bunny Livingstone related to Dandy Livingstone?
hmmmmm...Both are legends and one was in the Wailers and the other wrote the original "A Message to You, Rudy". They could be?

EXACTLY! As long as you are moving and having fun, nothing else matters

i definitely agree with that. the only frustrating part is trying to skank with stupid emo kids who knock you over and fat drunk metal heads who shove you around

: feels offended :
why does it seem that the ska community is against emo?

Ska and emo are the EXACT opposites.

Ska=Happy, lively music. Emo=sad, dead music.

And trust me, the two different fans DO NOT mix well stressed

lol. all music makes me happy XD. I never considered it sad and dead... anyways, emo stands for 'emotional' O_o
XDXD
I guess I'm more of an idiot than I thought. If emo is sad and dead, then why don't they just call it gothic and get it over with? XD. I don't see the point for having two different names for the same type of music.
Oh well. XD

it's because Emo doesn't have the balls to be Goth. j/k xd

Alright, now I know for sure. Just about everytime I try to describe the history of ska to someone I tell them it's where reggae got it's roots and nobody believes but this is the third source that's said that.

I did a ppt on Ska once for a computer class, and people tryed to tell me that I was wrong. I promptly knocked over their computers and told them to pick it up.
