Blood frothed from the open wounds littered across her pale body, though the torrent of water sliding through Simosihle's fur did well to wash them clean, leaving ruddy colored stains. Unfortunately the heavy rain did little to ease the pain. Each wound ached tenderly, seeming to throb in time with her racing pulse. Their cackling calls mocked her as they circled tightly.
One would dive in to bite her heels, driving her forward into the opposite who was ready and waiting to deliver a much more punishing blow. If they had been lions, Simo might have given them credit for such a coordinated attack, as things stood she was glad that their sole focus seemed to be her and not the rest of the group, like the wounded Umoya.
They seemed not to realize that the group was searching for a lost cub either. If she could keep them distracted, all the better.
With ears pinned back against her head the Umama's lips curled back from her teeth in a fearsome snarl. Her tail remained tucked tight against her hindquarters to keep the mangy mongrels from grabbing hold of it and further making her life miserable. Repeated, but not congruent, flashes of lightning had a disorienting effect on the wounded lioness as she tried to watch her attackers only to find them in a different location each time the ground was illuminated.
Spinning in on her hind paws in the mud she left one paw raised, ready to strike at whatever body came closest but her torn haunches made the tight turns painful and she wobbled unsteadily in the slippery mud that made getting a solid purchase on the ground nearly impossible. Come on! You're not done already are you?!
Simo taunted, breath hard in her chest, the rain singing in her ears even with them pinned against her skull. It was amazing she could hear anything at all and yet, through the commotion she was certain she heard the boom of an earth quaking roar.

((Woahh everything happens whilst I'm in bed xD silly timezones!))
Kinga walked on tentatively, but her head was pounding from both the adverse weather and the knowledge of Umoya's wound. The others in the group did well to act quickly enough, a snake bite could be very serious indeed and she had heard of many a lion who had lost their life to a particularly nasty one. It wasn't particularly certain if her leg would last, and Kinga would silently vouch that it wouldn't.. not with a wound like that. At least the snake had been killed and was no longer a threat to the group. She felt a little guilty that she hadn't been able to protect one of her own, and to kill the snake before it had dealt the damage.
The rain seemed to leak into her ears and caused the lioness to shake her head erratically as if she had fleas. It was a weird sensation and not one she believed she had experienced before. Her fur felt truly sodden, clinging to her as if it were desperately not to be somehow parted from her body - everything felt heavier.
Squinting through the rain, the lioness noticed that underneath the roar of the rain, everything had fallen quiet. Whipping her head round to find the rest of the group, she appeared to have wandered a little further than she intended. Great. Out looking for a lost cub and she was the one who ended up getting lost herself. Pulling herself up to appear a little larger she turned around and hoped that it was the direction from which she came. Padding feet threw up tiny waves of water over her paws as she dashed ahead, all her attention spent on her vision until she could see the silhouette of Umoya. Relief. She certainly didn't want to be a burden when she was trying to be a helpful asset to the group.

Quote: 3: You notice Simosihle has gotten separated from the group. Evironmental change: The rain pours harder. After the snake had been dispatched and Ilanga had satisfied herself over Imvula’s health she had watched the frantic attempts to aid their fallen pride-member with a worried expression. She knew better than to get involved as she had absolutely no practical knowledge of herbs or healing and would only have gotten in the way of those that could be more useful.
Such as Simo. Heaving a sigh of relief when the Umama tended to Umoya, wrapping the leg though it still looked bad. Ilanga wondered what would happen if it didn’t heal. Shaking violently, both to get rid of the excess rain that weighted down her fur, and the foreboding feeling that had come over her with such thoughts, she struggled to not dwel on Umoya’s fate and instead looked upwards once again, struggling to catch sight of Idla but the vulture was lost amid the downpour. “Drat” She knew the bird would be fine, but Idla was supposed to be looking for the cub, but if Ilanga couldn’t see the vulture for the rain, how was Idla supposed to spot a cub hiding among the pools of water and mud?
The sudden flash of lightening off to one side startled her, causing her to peer into the gathering gloom, a result of so much rain, but she managed to make out the larger shape of Zotikos, as it couldn’t be anyone other than the male, even with the rain flattening his mane quite considerably. He looked startled but unhurt, for which Ilanga was exceedingly grateful, at this point. The last thing they needed was another injury… a moment later however the entire pride scattered, barrelling past Ilanga and forcing her to turn and run with them. Managing to extract herself form the panicked rush she slowed and looked behind her, eyes widening to see a small fire licking away at the grass despite the copious mud and constant downpour. Snorting she eyed the flames, at a total loss as to what to do about it.
“Well….” She muttered to no one in particular.. It was then that she realised she had lost Imvula. Slightly frantic she looked round, dashing up to one lioness after another until finally she located her sister. Trotting over she rubbed one sodden shoulder briefly against Imvula’s side, mainly to reasure herself her sister was safe. But Imvula’s words startled her.
“Simo is gone?” Twisting her head back and forth she struggled to see through the rain. “That’s not good…” Not with hyenas known to have been past recently, as the scat was evidence of some activity in the area. And there were the elephants to consider also. A stampede would be dangerous to any full grown lion, not just the lost cub.
Looking up once more she had intended to call Idla back and send the vulture after Simo, but there was no sign of the vulture amid the steadily worsening downpour. “Damn and blast!” Ilanga cursed with some feeling. What a time to loose her familiar! Not only was she not going to be looking for the Umama, but now Ilanga was worried about the vulture as well! Well.. Idla would simply have to look after herself, and she was in a far better position than Ilanga to judge whether or not it was safe for her to be flying about anyway. Being as Ilanga didn’t possess wings and had never flown. But there was still the matter of Simosihle’s disappearance…
Huffing with a worried rumble she looked about, keeping Imvula close at her side. “We need to find the Umama.” She called loudly, hoping that despite the rain and the terrible visibility, some of the other lionesses were close enough to hear her. “Keep an eye out for Simo as well as the cub.” Turning to her sister, Ilanga looked grim. “We need to keep going…”

There was back and forth talk of what to do with Umoya and if she should move or not. She felt sick still, certainly dizzy... but she was sure with someone's support she'd be able to walk a long distance. They needed to stop worrying about her and find the damn cub, the rain was relentless. Umoya just tried to be agreeable to everyone, tried not to think too much about the swelled leg. Suddenly the area around Zotikos lit up in a blinding flash! Umoya spotted the fire as the rest of the group did and slight chaos ensued. She was close to Zotikos and the fire... and she definitely didn't want to be. She found herself on her paws and stumbling away before she could help it. Unfortunately she'd gone in a different direction than most of the group and was much slower.
The rain felt as though it was coming harder and harder now, and Umoya feared with how things had been going there would most certainly be a flash flood. Or some other disaster, unfortunately. She was lost herself now, the rain practically blinding, and her leg throbbed with a dull pain. "Simosihle? Esasile? ... Zotikos?" She called out, barely able to hear herself from the rain. Suddenly Kinga was before her and she felt relieved not to be alone. "Kinga! Do you know where the others are? Have they found the cub? The rain has gotten worse!" She was shouting to be heard above the rain.

The lioness squinted her eyes to see the rock formation. Yes, she knew what Imuvla was talking about. She didn't want to leave anyone completely behind, but if Umoya couldn't walk, then the rock formation would be a good place for her to shelter out the storm. "Excellent idea, Imvula." She said in agreement, giving a sharp nod to Ilanga. At least three of the group was together now. "I'm sure Simo would want us to find Umoya first." Esasile shouted, trying to ignore the fact that the rain was now pounding even harder. Umoya was injured. When with the herbs helping the venom, it wasn't a good idea to leave her alone. And Simo was an Umama. She knew how to handle herself in a storm. The lioness was sure Simo would come trotting up to them through the rain any second now. Though, at least the rain would definitely put out the fire, the lioness thought, glancing over in its direction. The flames were quickly diminishing, but there was a dim light from what was left that illuminated the surrounding area somewhat, just enough to see silhouettes of what could only be lions. Esasile couldn't tell their exact identities, but they were definitely from the group. Hopefully it was Umoya and Simo both. "Look! The other side of the fire!" Of course in a few minutes there wouldn't be another side to the fire, just wet, warm, slodgey mud. "Come on!" The lioness gestured her head towards the shadows. "Hey! Over here!" She roared, hoping to catch their attention so they didn't go running off on their own.

Wait, was that multiple roars? Another sounded, but it was much closer this time. Suddenly a black mass of a lion pushed itself through the rainfall. Coming into view only feet away from the three fighters, his head lowered, going under one of the bellies of a hyena, throwing it over its shoulders and into the mud behind him as he forced his way through to the Umama. The massive lion's actions seemed to speak 'savior' but what came next was anything but. His assault did not cease the fighting, but rather instigated in the hyena's ruthless thrashing to intensify. It seemed he was not intent on aiding Simosihle, rather that it wanted to be the one to take down Simosihle and not the hyenas.
With the hyenas nipping at his legs and really any other part they could get their mouth upon, Rok charged through with his mouth wide and his bloody fangs bare he threw his weight into the air and stood upon two legs. Either he would land upon her and likely crush whatever bone his large laws decided to land upon, especially given the obvious weight he had behind his massive size, or the two lions would clash in what would be a fight for Simosihle's life.
Neon Fly You know the drill by now. Roll 1 4-sided dice.
1: You repel the black lion's first attack, but earn a scratch. You seem evenly matched. Optional: You heard multiple roars, where's the second one?! 2: You repel the black lion's first attack without much injury. You seem evenly matched. Optional: You spy another black form approaching! 3: You are forced to give ground to the black lion, but do not receive injury. Optional: You lose sight of the cub and the herd! You hear another voice in the distance, though. 4: You meet the black lion head on and cause him to give ground. He's obviously not happy. Optional: You give him a nasty bite across his face.

(OOC: STILL. SO. MEAN. crying )
Whatever hope she'd had that the roar had been the result of one of her pride sisters were dashed at the sight of the giant black lion.
A rogue.
For a moment Simosihle's heart stopped, breath forced still in her chest as his head crashed into one of the Hyena's sides, sending them tumbling across the ground. Her father had been a rogue, but that didn't mean she wasn't wary of them. Having grown up in the Bonelands many of their traditions were set deep in her bones. No outsider could be trusted at face value and yet.. she wanted to believe the end of this battle was near at paw thanks to the stranger.
A belief that was shattered the moment he turned on her, fangs bared, rearing up with some inexplicable desire to harm her. Beset with a rage that sent the fur along her spine bristling as the heat of fury and adrenaline of some massive beast barreling at her set every nerve ablaze Simosihle met his challenge brazenly.
Her own roar split the air as she bounded up on her haunches to meet the villainous brute despite the pain that seared up her back legs and through the wound on her flank. The Umama wasn't nearly as tall as him and her paws only cam eup to his chest, but she used every ounce of muscle to push him backwards, hold him at a distance. Anything to keep him from landing on top of her.
With a longer reach, even as she managed to fend off being pinned beneath him, his claws still raked across her shoulder as their contact split.
If you think I'm going down without a fight, you're out of your damn mind! Hissing through gritted teeth, the earthy brown of Simo's eyes seemed to take on a russet tint, fueled by a hatred so deep she had completely forgotten the hyenas.
Even the sound of another roar couldn't shake her, though somewhere in the Umama's heart she was certain this was the end for her. Maybe she could fend off one rogue male, but if he had friends nearby there was little she could do if they all jumped her at once.
Cowards. The thought rolled across her mind as she set her stance and prepared for the worst. Maybe this was the end of her story, but like hell she was going to go out without making every single one of them pay on the way down.

At least this lioness was putting up some kind of a fight, considering the hyenas that danced around them, waiting for a chance that never came to join the fray.
"All the more fun!" Rok sung to her with a wicked grin on his face. He enjoyed fighting, running head-on and getting himself covered in mud and blood, just like he was now. So unlike his sister who preferred to skulk in the shadows and wait for an opportune time to strike. What a coward she was, but her method worked, just as it was working at this very moment. His smile broadened as the sound of a familiar roar met his ears. It seems like she had finally found that time. From the cover of the darkened sky and the rain that was beginning to flood the plateau, another black lion emerged. It was maneless though, a lioness this time and only slightly smaller than the duplicate that was busy grinning like the fool it was obvious he was. Water ran down her face as she tossed a glare to her brother. As her jog slowed to a casual walk, her golden eyes took the time to look the Umama, seemingly judging her. Was she a good fight, did they both really need to fight her in order to win this battle.
One of the hyenas approached, but quickly backed down, slinking to the side as Ragna raised her lips and snarled at the scavenger. It had no right to be here, but it was and she wasn't happy one bit about it.
Quickly her head turned towards the elephant herd that wasn't all that far off from where the hyenas and lions were currently. Snapping her head back around to the group, a frown began to appear on her face.
"I told you we should have wai--" The words that finished that sentence would never come and it seems she would never get her chance to fight the grey lioness.Yet another lion joined in, but this time he charged from the side, catching the new lioness off-guard. It was a tan male, fit with a full mane that had joined in on the on-going fight. With scares to already prove his history with fights, it seemed he was ready for just this sort of scuffle. Two against four, what fun. Putting a majority of his force put into his forelegs, Bangizwe charged her head-on with his mouth open. The two went tumbling into the mud with an ungodly loud *spluck* sound. The two's roars, and cries from claws coming in contact with flesh filled the air as much as the sound of rain did.
Quickly assessing the situation, the two hyenas glanced to eachother for only a moment before joining in on the black and tan lions' fight in defense of Ragna. Their own cackles and yips mixed with the sounds that were already filling the air.
Glancing between his sister, who was now rolling and fighting with an unknown male lion, but it seemed the hyenas knew which side would win this battle and had chosen correctly with which side to align themselves with. Rok turned his attention back to Simosihle who had otherwise been ignored during the entire transgression.
"Get the other one!" Bangizwe called out between the various angry sounds that otherwise left his mouth.[OOC Information]
Everyone besides Neon: The lionesses have regrouped at Umoya and begin trying to find Simo and the cub. They do not find the Umama, but they do find the herd of elephants and the cub running underfoot, trying to avoid being stepped on by the panicked behemoths. You may assume the cub's actions based upon your prompt. Do not have him speak or act any differently than described in your prompt. If a 3 is rolled, please stop rolling.
Roll 1 4-sided dice for your prompt. Only roll once. 1: You foolishly try to get into the herd to get the cub, but a mother elephant cuts you off. It seems you almost ran into her baby. Optional: You hear the sound of hyenas and lions. 2: Lightning! One of the elephants rears and trumpets, almost trampling the cub. You go in, but are unable to find the cub in the chaos and rain. 3: You manage to grab the cub by the scruff of his neck and get out without either of you getting trampled. Environmental hazard: You slip with the cub in your mouth. 4: You manage to grab the cub by the scruff of his neck, but you drop him and he runs off, obviously scared. Optional: An elephant almost steps on you.

Thunder, lightning, rain... She could still hear elephants in the distance. Or were they near by? It was hard to tell with the rain. She looked to her sister, shaking water off her head. It did no good, more water replaced it. She was prepared to say something to her sister, but she spied something small and grey, bright against the darkness of the mud and shadows. The cub! Like the snake, she charged in, grabbing the cub by the scruff. Under normal circumstances, he'd probably be limp, if scared, in her maw, but these were not normal circumstances. As she tried to get out of the fray of panicking elephants, she tripped, sliding in the mud and sending the cub sliding, as well. He got up and ran off in his fear, and Imvula just managed to roll out of the way before an elephant foot landed on her. Covered in mud, she scrambled out of the herd. "Damn!"

Esasile was glad to have found Umoya, and even more pleased to see that she was in far better health than Esasile had feared. At least everyone, save for Simo, was back together. Now they could focus on finding the Umama and the cub without worrying about leaving anyone behind. The still needed to find that elephant herd, the most likely place the cub had gone. Imvula, sharp eyes as ever, suddenly dashed off. Esasile worried for a moment that it was another snakes, but when she saw a blur of light grey, the lioness realized that Imvula had spotted the cub, and that the herd of elephants was right on top of them! The lioness watched in terror as the cub slipped from Imvula's mouth. At this rate, the herd would stampede, and they'd all be trampled by the elephants. Without a second thought, Esasile raced in after her. She slipped in the mud, and sliding underneath one of the large beasts, she grabbed the cub by the scruff of the neck as tightly as she could without hurting him. Scrambling to get out of the way of the elephants, mud kicked up under her paws, flying around her. Steps uneven in the soggy earth, Esasile ran back to the rest of the group, chest heaving and side completely covered in mud. "I got him." She said, her words muffled by the tiny boy held in her teeth. "I got him."

((Disregard roll!)
Kinga had attempted to lunge forward into the herd and save the cub but retreated as soon as she was confronted by an angry mother elephant. Diving into the herd would be a mistake when approached by a creature that could easily crush your bones.
There had been an air of panic and suddenly Imvula had disappeared into the herd, completing the task that Kinga had failed to fulfill. As long as they came back safe and she got the cub that was all that mattered. The female waited with baited breath and finally she emerged, cub in mouth. Kinga looked at her with eyes wide with relief. "Thank goodness for that. Well done."

Ilanga paused, looking back at Esasile, ears twitching with indecision. Umoya was missing now as well? Bracing herself to shake her head roughly, the irritating itch of smoking wet fur only adding to her general sense of urgency she looked about again. "Where is everyone?" She asked, mainly to herself before the pale lioness roared out at the shapes Ilanga could barely make out. Starting towards them she stayed at her sister's side, unwilling to loose her too.
Suddenly Imvula dashed forwards into a herd of crazed elephants! With a roar Ilanga dashed in behind her, missing the cub entirely as she didn't see it go tumbling off but instead focused on the giant grey beasts, dashing in and out and roaring with all her night in an attempt to force them to either slow their running or go in the other direction, away from Imvula and her pride-mates.
As Esasile followed her sister and managed to snag the cub, Ilanga swiftly fell in behind the two, roaring back at the elephants to keep the beasts from chasing after them. Hurrying as they made it free she came over to Esasile, nosing the female to make sure she was ok after checking on her muddy splattered sister.
"We need to get further away, but Simo is still missing..." And come to think of it the rest of them still seemed to be rather scattered...

(OOC: |D; AND THEN THERE WERE MORE LIONS!)
Tch. Of course he would think this was fun. Why were rogues so bat-s**t crazy? Even Njalo, whose mother had been--and still to this day was--some passing rogue who had abandoned her daughter in the Bonelands, was not what Simosihle would have ever described as normal.
Out of the corner of her eye Simosihle could barely make out the dark lioness slithering from the shadows cast by the heavy rains and soulless black clouds. She was reluctant to take her eyes completely off of the immediate threat just before her for good reason. He had already attacked her once, the lioness had yet to make a move though by the look of her when she did it would likely be well thought out. he certainly seemed less reckless than her companion.
Just get on w-- Simo had begun as the moment without attack stretched on, pulling her patience taut to the point of snapping. The Umama was as ready as she would ever be, but the longer they waited the more sensibility began to curl around the edges of her consciousness. She should run while there was time. No! She needed to stand her ground and keep both lions and hyenas here away from the rest of the group. Whatever she intended to say, her voice dropped beneath the pounding rain.
A golden streak had charged from the darkness, barreling in to the lioness as the pair streaked across her vision, followed by the two hyenas. They exploded into a frenzy of teeth and claws leaving the ashen female momentarily dumbstruck.
What--- what had just happened? And who was he talking to..?
Golden eyes flashed with the severity in Njalo'sasa's expression. It was a look that she normally only took while hunting. Complete concentration. Total focus. Utter relentlessness.
The large lioness risked everything every time she went hunting, but with large risk came large reward and she had been hailed as one of the best solitary huntresses in the pride. It wasn't unheard of for her to take down a cape buffalo unassisted.
Luckily for her own species she was a happy go lucky creature without a desire for confrontation and no temper to be spoken of. However, Njalo was nothing if not devoted to her Bonelands sisters and with that unflappable loyalty came a protective nature that was nothing short of ferocious.
With a high pitched battle cry the precious Bongo colored lioness charged in long, ground devouring strides, using the slick ground to her advantage as she gained momentum and leapt onto the large, black lion's back. Sinking her claws into his shoulders as her snarling mouth sought purchase on his neck, made slightly easier by the drenching rains matting his thick mane down. Silent all but for the hateful sounds that rolled through her parted jaws, the taste of his blood was but a small reward for his actions as it flowed warm and metallic upon her tongue.
She couldn't get a grip on his thick neck, but that didn't mean she couldn't bite away his flesh until she could reach his spine, her teeth chewing at the back of his neck until a sharp headbutt collided with her skull, sending her careening on her back in the mud, sliding several feet away.
Bang had told her to get the other one though and until Simo or the golden rogue told her to stop, Njalo would continue to pursue. Eyes narrow with killing intent as she rolled onto all four paws again and charged, mindless of the mud that now slicked her fur or the gash along her ribs from where she had unwittingly cut herself on a jagged rock while skidding along the ground.
Simosihle could hardly believe what she was seeing. Frozen in place by the specter that had disappeared a month ago. N... Njalo?

The terrified cub swayed from Esasile's mouth as he hung there. Pale blue eyes wide with terror as she looked around before stopping to look at the lions that approached. These were familiar faces, ones that he knew. They were there to help him. Not at all like the stomping feet that had been around him previously. For not at least, the cub was safe from harm so long as the lionesses did not lose sight of him again.
The battle between Ragna, the hyena pair and the golden lion raged on for what seemed like forever, but in truth hardly even three minutes had passed. During that time the victor was becoming clearer. Bangizwe was getting the upper hand as he began to maneuver himself to balance the onslaught of attacks from all three sources. He was not without injury though as bites and scratches littered his shoulders and legs, varying in length and depth.
Honey eyes flared with an intensity that would have driven her brother mad with a bloodrage, but Ragna knew better. She was smarter than that, smart enough at least to know when a battle had been lost. Her jaw came forward as she let out a low roar, signaling her brother. It was a retreat.
Dislodging herself from the group, she stumbled back, her belly momentarily touching the muddy ground as she slid on the wet earth beneath her large paws. There was no reason to continue. They had already lost their prize and now they stood to lose their life, especially with two more lions in the mix. They were outnumbered as far as she was concerned. The two hyenas couldn't even handle one lion, a lioness at that, how could they hope to handle a male and another female if something were to happen to Rok?
The sound of a retreat came as a surprise to the pitch black male who had since fallen onto the ground. Fear of death spurred him on as he rolled onto his side and quickly rose onto his feet, paws sliding sliding on the slick ground. Rok looked to the lioness that had interrupted his and the grey's fight and scowled. Her fur was unique. He would remember that, especially since she had claimed part of one of his ears. With an aching and bleeding body, he turned and sprinted with the last of his energy to join his sister in disappearing into the rainfall, leaving only pawprints in the mud that were quickly washed away by the downpour.
This left only the hyenas to deal with and over time even they realized that the black body of the male lion was no longer present and that the two had left. Quickly breaking off of the golden male, their tails lowered and ears pinned back. They were outnumbered now. Three lions versus the both of them. Before either could react, the gold one approached, slower, more purposefully. With one quick swipe of his paw, Bangizwe left the two with a permanent reminder of the fight, claw marks right across their faces. Yelping loudly, the pair of hyenas jumped to their feet and began to run from the trio, taking the time to bump into eachother as they faded from view.
Sighing heavily, the aches of his wounds were beginning to actually bother him as the adrenaline began to wear off. Slowly, careful not to slip and injure himself further, he approached Simosihle.
"Are you alright?" Bangizwe asked as he glanced around them to make sure the four pests were gone.
The elephant herd has seemed to move on, letting their tantrum bother someone else instead of the lionesses. They left a large patch of grass completely flat and puddles are beginning to form in the depressions left by their feet, but at least they're gone.
As the clouds above begin to lighten, the rain has also started to let up and is no longer falling as strongly as before. Now the droplets fall more like a typical light shower. It seems the worst of it is over.
[OOC Information]
Kali, the cub is now ICly in Esasile's care. You may control him for the remainder of the ORP. You can have him interact with her or anyone else, but only basically. Mainly no talking, since he's not owned yet.
The group may now see and begin approaching Njalo, Simo and Bang, but please do not interact with them yet. Please wait for my next post before having your lion get close enough to actually interact with the three of them.
The lionesses might have also noticed Mcheni is not among them.

Njalo stared hard at the male, her freckled nose crinkled with the curl of her lip as he met her gaze. She'd been waiting for him to comet o her again, waiting to meet him again in battle considering neither one of them had yet been incapacitated. Her patience was rewarded with only his turned back. A view that made every fiber of her being tense with the instinct to chase, muscles coiling to spring after him.
Simosihle had been staring at her though, watching her best friend take on her opponent in her place. The shock had paralyzed her. Made her useless, but now as the dark male retreated and she saw Njalo ready to hunt the rogue to the ends of the earth, she found her voice. Crying out quickly, Njalo, stop! Let him go!
It was good to hear the lead female's voice again, Njalo had missed it. Head swinging around to gaze at Simosihle with a goofy smile, releasing the tension in her hunched frame. Okay Sisi!
Twisting on the spot, her solidly muscled frame trotted back to the grey form as cheerful as if she hadn't just been in a life-or-death battle with some complete stranger. She seemed oblivious to the open wound across the bridge of her nose, though it made the white fur of her face pink with the oozing blood that bubbled along the open seam. Is Simomo okay? Njalo has missed you most!
Gently butting her head to the Umama's unwounded shoulder, she slid her body along the length of her friend's in a much over due greeting. Nuzzling her cheek into Simo's damp fur as she went along. Successfully smudging the opposite lioness in the mud and blood she herself was covered in.
Better now that you're here. Where the hell have you been?! If you ever do that again I swear I'll--Relief and joy to know that Njalo was alive was quickly being overtaken by annoyance as Simo descended into a frustrated tirade--mostly inspired by just how worried she had been for the overly friendly Umzingeli. This could have easily been her. Ambushed by rogues in an unfair fight, destined to be killed for sport! But her thoughts escaped her when she realized the golden lion lingered still. Having just finished dispatching the last two lingering pests he had begun to approach them and she wasn't sure how to feel about it--or him.
A few cautious steps edged her backward as she stared, uneasily. Maybe she should be grateful to him, but she wasn't yet sure he wasn't as much a threat as the others had been. His question was left unanswered for now as she hesitantly allowed her gaze to drift from him to Njalo. Who is this?
More familiar with the lion than her friend was, Njalo purred with delight as Bangizwe finally came forward, leaping towards him to rub against his warm, golden coat blissfully. Sisi! Simomo!
She singsonged the nickname cheerfully, sliding under Bang's tail and around to his other side, leaving her weight heavily on him as she circled. Unconsciously rubbing as much mud and blood on him as she had Simosihle. Sisi meet Bangi! Bangi meet Sisi! Sisi is my sister! She's an Umama!
Njalo explained to the male even as she slid under his belly. Njalo found Bangi when she went to find Gake...Gakere.
Tucking her ears low, the Umzingeli ducked her head. Returning to the Bonelands with Bangizwe in tow had been so much fun she had forgotten her initial purpose for leaving and the disappointing results. Her voice quickly dipping into a timid mewl. Nja tried to find Gakere for Simo.. but there was nothing, Sisi.. bits of fur on some bones, but Nja isn't sure they were Gakere's. Nja doesn't think.. he will come back, but Nja tried! Nja did try!
Njalo had always been overtly affectionate with her pride sisters and the Abaholi both, but to see her coil around and nuzzle a stranger as if he were an Umholi was slightly surreal. Still, it had a strangely reassuring effect on the wounded and uncertain lioness. A tired, but grateful smile touching her maw. She couldn't mourn Gakere any longer or she would be left in the past while the pride moved forward without her. I'm sure you did your best, Njalo. Thank you.
With a nervous flutter in her gut she turned her gaze up to the lion Njalo called Bangi. He had sent both the lioness and both hyenas running with their tails between their legs and if that wasn't a testament to his battle prowess the scars emblazoned upon his handsome pelt certainly were. ...I think I'm okay, thanks to you and Njalo. Are... are you?
Her voice wavered with a shy edge not customary to the well regarded lioness and it annoyed her.
