Kairi stared up at the always intimidating entrance of the Battle Pike. It seemed so long ago since she had been here last. The redheaded girl could have chosen any of the facilities to enter, to test her skills, but, no... she wanted another go at the Battle Pike, to prove that she had gotten better since her last time here. She hoped that she'd get another chance to face Pike Queen Lucy. Just the thought of fighting her again made Kairi smirk. Even though she was hoping to see how much she had improved, the redhead had decided beforehand that she wasn't going to use the same Pokemon as she did last time, even though two of those Pokemon had evolved and would clearly would be stronger, Kairi wanted an opportunity to test the skills of some of the Pokemon she hadn't had as long. Three in particular to be exact, which was good since she knew she'd only be allowed three.
Finally deciding it was time to enter the building, Kairi would fiddle around with the Pokeballs of the Pokemon she had chosen as she walked up the steps, and into the gaping Seviper mouth that was the Battle Pike. She had faith in Malice the Bagon, Dahlia the Krokorok, and Nagini the Ekans, and Kairi knew that even if they lost somewhere along the way, that this trio of Pokemon would gain some much needed experience. It was with this in mind, that Kairi knew this was the right place to be.
It was time to get things started.

Kaya was beginning to wonder just what was going on here when the floor fell out from under him. Before he could even reach for a Pokeball he had hit the surface of the lake. "~/~!" The exclamation came at the realization that he didn't have Nigel on him. And he was sinking like any other metal man would. I should really learn to levitate! He told himself inwardly, holding his breath as he struggled to try and swim back to the surface. No such luck. He was't going anywhere near the direction of 'up'. Finally he noticed a slow slope not far off where the ground started upwards. It was his only chance and if he didn't hurry, he was going to drown. And then the Carvahna appeared from behind him.
I don't even have a Water Pokemon on me. It only took a few seconds before he recalled his own powers Right! Fairy Lock! He reminded himself, forging several key-like daggers of energy around him, stabbing them into the various Carvahna before he reached the shore, locking them in place until his head breached the water and he could breath again. "Anael!" He called, tossing the Togekiss' ball into the air. Seeing her trainer's predicament, she used her newfound form and it's innate ability to hurl several Aura Spheres at the Carvahna Kaya had locked up before she picked him up and used her Extreme Speed to escape through the closing door.

There wouldn't be much continuing after the Discharge, Kangaskhan's movements slowing down as fatigue set in and falling backwards when she couldn't go on any longer. Silent and keeping her head down, Amaranth recalled her Pokemon and readied another ball.
"Thank you... Carbink, continue the fight," she finally said as she tossed the second ball over the balcony, releasing the Carbink and sending the ball back into her hand from the release's recoil.
Her Carbink would look around for a moment before noticing the rather intimidating Luxray before it, realizing it might need to be careful here.

The Luxray would turn its attention to the Carbink as it appeared, growling as it bore its electricity infused fangs. If these battles were showing one thing it was that Pokemon alone were not very smart in battle. The Luxray would race towards and then bite down on the stone Pokemon, releasing a bit of electricity into it with its Thunder Fang but not much as it recoiled in pain from biting a rock.

Kairi would be showed through her first curtain which would lead her into a room containing a battlefield and a trainer on the other side. "Welcome to the Pike, young lady." The trainer greeted her. "How unfortunate that your first room contains me." He said with a smirk as he tossed a Heavy Ball onto the ground, the ball opening up and releasing a Torkoal. "Let's begin."

SubonicXP And that's all she wrote, surprisingly enough. The Steel Wing not only had the power of Ursaring behind it but the Natu was so tiny that its blow was spread over a larger space and thus the strike was more concentrated. Then there is the fact that, you know, you just struck the door bear right on top of its head with steel. Jerk. "...you got to be kidding me." Was all Mitch said as he recalled his Pokemon, the crowding laughing at his dismay. "Bah, I guess this is one way to lose my nickname. Whatever, let's get this over with already." With that he tossed out his last ball, this one depositing an Octillary onto the stage, the octopus sporting some type of gaudy sunglasses on its face. "Hydro Pump." He said with a smile, the octopus firing off a massive yet of water at the (should be) airborne Natu, the glasses glowing in response. Damn that was a lot of water. "Natu! Look out!" Tristen shouted. That said, the spray was way too big and way too powerful. Worse knowing while it had plenty of offense under its wings, the Power Swap does nothing for staying power. The tiny bird was blasted, virtually carried off by the powerful stream of water. When the attack finally reached its limit the Natu fell down, right at Tristen's feet, drenched and out for the count. "Oh Natu...I'm sorry." he said, picking up the bird for a moment. "I'll get him back for it. Just wait." He said, recalling the bird back into the Pokeball. Tristen took out his final Pokeball. "Dragonite!" He shouted. He tossed the ball and, in the final flash of light, out came what was essentially Tristen's ace in the hole, the massive Dragonite. "AARRRRROOOOO!!!" It roared out. Plenty fired up and ready to battle. "Dragonite! Dragon Claw!" The boy called out. "ARO!!!" The dragon kicked off the ground and rushed for the Octillery, its claws burning fiercely with draconian fervor, giving the octopus a massive swipe of its claws when he reached it.

Kaya would find himself back in the Pike proper but not away from hungry wild Pokemon, least not yet. Now he had a snake pit to fight through. "Ekans!" Hissed a group of Ekans as they raced across the long almost hallway of a room he found himself in. The snakes would immediately come in to bite down on Kaya and if allowed they would not let go.

Three claw marks would appear across the head of the Octillery, the Dragon Claw proving to be devastating and yet Mitch didn't seem worried in the least. "Looks like I might make it to the semi-finals again after all...Ice Beam!" He cackled, the Octillery would almost smile at the command as it let loose a beam of icy cold energy at the Dragonite.

Damage was extreme, and while not completely frozen, did leave a thick ice caked on him, which peeled off like duct tape on hair. "Dragonite!" Tristen spoke up. "Please tell me you're alright!" "Arrroooo." It was still up, but it by no means couldn't take another shot like that one. That one...really hurt. Tristen knew that he had to end this fight now somehow otherwise he as good as lost this one. "Ok, Dragonite. Hyper Beam!" the boy shouted. The Dragonite braced himself, his feet dug into the battlefield floor. "ARRROOO!!" With what it had, it charged the powerful attack and fired the massive attack towards the Octillery.

The Octillery seemed to gulp as the beam was fired, the attack slamming into the octopus, sweeping it off the ground and sending it with the beam off into the distance, the Octillery landing somewhere in the crowd. Mitch didn't respond to this, instant he just stood there staring at Tristen in disbelief. "Guess I'm not the second anymore..." He said, a smile slowly forming on his face, as if he was relieved to be rid of the nickname. With Mitch the Former Second running off into the crowd to find his Pokemon among the laughing audience the ref turned to Tristen and held his arm into the air. "Tristen the Bolt is our victor!" He shouted, the crowd responding with a roar of applause. "Can this young man take Mitch's title and beyond? We'll find out later!" He said, the crowd booing with disappoint, they apparently enjoyed watching Tristen. "Next up is..." The ref announced the next contestants and whispered for Tristen to head back to the lockers and heal his Pokemon.

Amaranth would quickly learn that on top of Pokemon being less sure of what to do when left to their own devices, they also liked to stick to what they know. Despite the opening Luxray left in its attempt to sink its teeth into the sentient rock, Carbink went straight for the defensive and put forth a Reflect in case Luxray decided that further biting was a good idea. At this point, it was safe to say the hybrid was a little confused. She was understanding why it was usually a good idea to give a Pokemon some sort of idea of what to do in battle.

"Arrr-" It wanted to cheer a bit, but dear God, did that Ice Beam still smart. "Come on, let's go get you better, okay? Return." Tristen said, recalling the Dragonite back into the ball. Hearing the ref, the boy left the stage and rushed off back for the back to get his Pokemon tended to. The boy couldn't believe it though. He actually won a major battle. Well, probably not MAJOR major, but it was a legit battle, and one that wasn't simply a spar with another Snagem or a mook from some group that had it coming. He actually...felt pretty good.

The Luxray did learn this time, however not as much as it should have as the big cat rushed towards the Carbink, crackling with energy and aiming to tackle it.

"Great job man." A teen boy greeted Tristen as he entered the locker room. "Healing machine is over there." He said pointing to said machine. "I saw your better, you did great. Oh, name is Alan. Sorry, I get carried away." He laughed. "Have you seen your next opponent? Guy named Sylvester. Kind of a shy dude." Alan said as he followed Tristen around. He seemed like a nice enough kid, blonde hair, blue eyes, was kind of handsome if you were interested in the male gender. Maybe slightly above average height for his age of fifteen.

I never been in anything like this before. I'm kinda nervous." he said.

He won his first battle with just his Azumarill so be careful. That fat rabbit seems pretty strong. Though I suppose it didn't help that his opponent had three Pokemon that were all weak to it." The teen said with a laugh. "Pretty good Dragonite you got there, by the way." He smiled. "Tristen, please take the stage." The intercom blared in the locker room. "I guess you're up. Remember, be careful of that Azumarill. It seems to be his crutch so he'll probably use it first."
