Requiem of Whyspers
Lykas could only shake his head at this point. That blasted crab survived yet another super effective attack? "Mykel, give it all you've got! Finish it with another Thunderbolt!" He called to his partner. Mykel nodded and, psychic powers flaring up as he generated a static charge to fuel the blast, both the Pokemon and his trainer felt the surge of Celestial Chi rain down over the Fairy and heal him somewhat. This aided in the electrical generation by allowing him to focus his energy directly into the attack. Would the Wish from before healing him now be enough to finish off Slowbro or would it yet survive once more?

The blast of electricity racked the Slowbro's body. The attack was clearly devastating for the hermit crab Pokemon, Mykel could sense it. However physically the Slowbro did not react, instead it stood there and stared at the Gardevoir with a blank look on its face for a good two minutes. It was starting to get really awkward and uncomfortable until the Pokemon finally registered the Thunderbolt and simply toppled over, its facial expression never changing. Man those things are creepy.

"Well, looks like you breached my walls, leaving me nothing else to do but to capitulate." The Ace Trainer said with a bow as he recalled his Pokemon. "With that over I can go back to my book. Want to know what the story is about? It's about a giant demonic creature with many tentacles on its head...huh." He said, staring at Lykas, the implication obvious. "Whatever, you're almost to the top, keep moving." And with that he pulled his book out and began to read.

Lykas stood next to Mykel after the last attack, watching Slowbro with matching looks of utter bewilderment on their faces. They had actually managed to beat the crab?! How?!

After just as much time as Slowbro had taken to register it's own defeat, Lykas and Mykel finally registered their victory. Both had felt the sudden loss of it's energy reserves as it fell so they had known it was beaten before it did. It was just still a shock to them. Before continuing on, Lykas felt it was necessary to do a bit of doctoring to his team. Releasing Fog, Chinami and Nuregami, he patiently administered a revive to the fainted Dewgong and Dewott while applying a Full Restore to Nuregami, leaving the final one in his bag for later. He might need it. That would at least get his team back into the realm of consciousness.

In the time it had taken him to heal his party's wounds, Little Boy Blue had been rambling about his book. All he caught were the words, "giant Monster with tentacles on it's head". After recalling his team, he started up the stairs once more, pausing for a moment as he passed Blue to split his ponytail and flail his tentacles around like a squid possessed, his eyes flashing black momentarily from the energy of a withheld Hex. Being a source of nightmare fuel for others was a good pass time, after all. After he felt he'd sufficiently terrified the boy, whether it worked or not, he'd head on up.

As per usual with this place Lykas would be faced with another intimidating flight of stairs to conquer. The horror!

Once Lykas made it to the top he would discover another Ace Trainer, a female, sporting a yellow outfit, black hair with bright yellow streaks, and a Manetric panting at her side. "Come on! What took you so long!? I'm ready to fight! I heard that big pink blob fall over and have been waiting for you since." She spoke, extremely quickly, tossing a Level Ball back and forth between her two hands.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 05, 2016 11:25 am

....Lykas stood at the top of the stairs, breathing heavily for a moment. These stairs were getting deadlier the further up he went. The horror, indeed.

"Let me guess." He huffed after a moment or two. "You're the speed master?" He asked. The ready, set, go attitude kind of gave it away. She talked fast, she used a Pokemon that moved as fast as lightning and her outfit just screamed racing stripes. Sadly, he was left with little choice regarding this battle. Whether this one focused on Speed or something else, her Pokemon was known for it's quick movements and it used Electric attacks. How he hated Electric-types....

If she could be fast enough...."Guess it'll be Manectric you're using, then." He muttered as he determined his Partner. "So I guess I'll be going with this one. Let's go, Chinami. Time to make waves." He called as he released the Dewott. She wasn't at full strength by a long shot but she just might have it in her to keep up with this thing. Her movements were quick and fluid in most cases anyway.

"Speed? Used to be! Instead I got demoted down to Special after the incident. Plus the guy after me is quicker...ha! So he thinks..." The girl mumbled but quickly snapped back to reality. "Okay! Let'sdothisthingrightnow!" She said rapidly, whipping out some sort of glasses and putting them on her dog's head. He looked nerdy with them on.

"Manetric, Eletric Terrain!" She cried out, her dog howling in response as it unleashed a strange static-like electricity over the entire field. Dewott might freak out first but he would soon realize it didn't hurt him. In fact, it made him feel a little jumpy, on edge, like he just drank a bunch of caffeine. Great, that's just what this girl needed.

Chinami shivered slightly as the electrified floor sparkled at her feet. Drawing her scalchops, she expanded the blades into her signature fans, her regular use of Razor Shell battle fans allowing her the fluidity of movement primarily when they were employed. Her legs twitched. Her muscles spasmed. Her whole body felt primed for action! "Dewott dew dew wott!" She cried, charging forward with little time to wait for a command from her trainer. Thankfully he was quick to make connections, despite his unfamiliarity with this particular move.

"Chinami, use your Rock Smash!" Lykas called out, watching as the Dewott got close and flipped one of her fans away to bring that arm down atop Manectric, furry fist aflame with a ruddy red-brown fight aura.

"Bad call!" The yellow clad Ace Trainer shouted and smile as she watched the fans bore down on her dog, the canine letting out a yelp of pain. "Discharge!" She immediately ordered once the fans hit.

The Manetric's body gave off a static discharge upon contact, its ability attempting to activate. A much bigger discharge would follow it as the static electricity on the ground rushed into its body for a brief moment and the dog unleashed a bright flash of electricity around the surrounding area, the Electric Terrain empowering it.

(Rolling two ten sided dice. If the result of either roll is 1, 2, or 3 then Chinami is paralyzed. Static and Discharge effect.)

"Use your scalcops!" Lykas cried out immediately when he heard the call. Oh how he despised Electric-types. Chinami whipped her remaining scalchop fan closed and threw the shell in front of her, allowing the stone-like shell to take much of the wild electric discharge. It helped. A fractional amount. The energy coursing through the air now made actually blocking the attack nearly impossible and it eventually homed in on her regardless, the electricity in her fur acting as a sort of magnetic beacon for the flying lightning bolts. Zapped as she was and even as her fur smoked from the attack, she managed to get back up, struggling momentarily.

"Chinami....."This was not something Lykas liked. His Pokemon, save for just one, were all weak to Electric attacks. He had to be able to do something to get this over with in a hurry. How he was now wishing he'd diversified his team a bit more. A thought occurred to him, then. Chinami hadn't had much reason to use either of the moves but she knew two that just might be able to help out here. Might as well try one of them. "Chinami, use Revenge!" While she still crackled, doubled over for a moment, Chinami grinned a wicked, sinister grin. She quickly turned and bolteda few steps sideways, snatched up her scalchop, which had been knocked out of her paws when she was finally overcome by the Discharge before, jumped over Manectric, snatched up the other and instantly flung them both in crossing paths at the electric hound, the two projectiles glowing with the same red-brown aura from before, though they appeared to be far stronger than the last Fighting-type attack.

The Manetric was caught off guard by the sudden speed and strength behind Chinami's attack, surely a water type should have had the wind knocked right out of it with one of its electric attacks. As the Dewott bore down the hound attempted to brace its self for impact but there was no doing so, it was just too powerful. The dog let out a yelp of pain as its legs buckled and it fell to ground with a whine.

"Careful, dogs always bite back!" The Ace Trainer cried out with a laugh.

It was then that the seemingly crippled beast revealed its new found energy and lashed out at the Dewott, snapping at it with electrified jaws. Thunder Fang.

(Three ten-sided dice. If first one is 1-3 Static activates. If the second one is 1 then Thunder Fang paralyzes, disregard if Static works first. If third is 1 then Thunder Fang flinches, even if paralysis occurs.)

Chinami was snapped up in Manectric's jaws before either she or Lykas could react to it. Both had suspected the canine wasn't down but the ruse had worked to lower their guard just enough to let Chinami be caught. "Damn." Lykas grumbled as he recalled the fallen Dewott once more. This was, among other things, annoying. Who else could he use here that stood a half decent chance?

"One sec...." He said, holding up a finger as he took mental inventory of his team before deciding who should be sent out net. Chinami was down, Tallulah was weak, as was Fog, Mykel was likely in fighting shape if not tired. That left him with Nuregami and Furor. Furor was out of the question because he wasn't a sadist who would send a Gyarados into battle against an Electric-type so that meant it looked like it was Nuregami's encore. "Let's go, boy." He'd call out at last, releasing the Milotic. There was a second factor adding to his decision to send this particular Pokemon in. Marvel Scale just might benefit them in the long run. "Ice Beam." Was all he would say after the creature's appearance, resulting in a stream of pure cold energy soaring through the air in an attempt to freeze their foe in place.

"Tric!" Barked the Manetric as it was hit by the freezing cold beam of energy. The chilling energy washed over the canine's body but alas it was able to resist being frozen by it.

"Pretty little 'mon...time to zap it! Thunderbolt!" The Ace Trainer cried out.

The Manetric would respond to the command with a classic, drawing forth as much electricity stored in its fur as possible and with a loud crack fired off a bolt of concentrated electricity at the sea serpent.

(1, the dog freezes. 2-10, it doesn't. Will add more content after roll.)

Lykas winced when Nuregami was hit by the attack, the electricity clearly hurting the serpent. He gave a moment's thought before calling for another attack.

(1 = Paralysis, 2-10, it doesn't stick)

After a moment's thought, he recalled an attack Nuregami had often used before. Long before he'd learned Blizzard. For a brief moment, he wondered if it would be more useful here. And if the Pokemon could recall how it worked since it had been used as the basis for learning the whirling ice storm. "Nuregami, think you can manage a Twister?" He'd call to his partner. Nuregami was still twitching from the lightning coursing through his body but nodded in acquiescence. "Loooooooo~!" Nuregami cried out, the ethereal wail accompanied by a swirl of draconian wind which slowly picked up into a violent tornado spiraling around the battlefield, quickly beginning to close in around the electric hound across from them.

"Man!" Barked the Manetric at the incoming Twister. The canine as prepared to use its superior speed to dash out of the way but unfortunately it had tripped over its self and lost its footing, the vortex sweeping it up off the ground. The Twister would prove devastating to the Manetric as it hurled it around, the cyclone throwing the dog into the nearest wall before it dissipated. And that is where the canine would rest for now, the Twister landing a critical hit and knocking it out.

"...didn't see that coming." The Ace Trainer frowned but then soon laughed as she recalled her Pokemon. "Lightning never strikes in the same place twice they say...what I'm trying to say is you win. Go on and face your last challenge before the top. I'll remind ya though, that dude outsped me." She warned Lykas.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 22, 2016 4:59 pm

"I feel like I should be worried....." Lykas replied sarcastically, rubbing his Pokemon's neck softly for a moment. "Thanks Nuregami, you did great." He told the Milotic before recalling him to his Ball. What in the world could he be forced to face in this next challenge? More, importantly, did he even have a Pokemon that would be able to keep up with a Pokemon faster than a Manectric?

He'd climb the stairs slowly, trying to formulate some sort of plan of action for the next fight. It would be difficult without any knowledge of what he'd be facing to plan an exact strategy but he could figure out something to adapt from. By the time he made it to the next platform, he was about as ready as he thought he could be.

Requiem of Whyspers

"Welcome to platform number cinq, the final frontier before the promised land. I bet you have a doozy of a climb and an even harder fight upward. Unfortunately there is no rest for the weary in this tower as you now must face the me. As you probably heard and could guess without being told so I am the Speed Master. Who needs to tank hits when you can dodge them? Why bother beating your foe senseless when you can wear them out? I'm going to show you why speed is the real killer." The black clad Ace Trainer said with a smile as he took out a Heavy Ball, holding it out with one hand so Lykas can see it.

"Looks can be deceiving." With that said he turned his hand over and let the ball drop to the ground, hard, its weight being a factor in how hard it hit the floor. The ball would burst open to reveal perhaps a surprising foe.

"Dactyl!" Cried the ancient Pokemon as it appeared with a roar from its dense confines.
