Jinthel's heart beat in a near panicked cadence as she ran down the halls of Videl Academy, her bag clutched tightly in her hands. Even the heavy books couldn't quite slow her down enough to be going at a more reasonable pace. She was late! It was only her second period and she was already late for class! The teachers could be very laid back about attendance, but she didn't know how the current history teacher would take it.. She hadn't had this class last year, after all, and she was pretty sure there was a new teacher for history anyway.
When she came to a stop outside of the door, she had to stop to lean against the wall, bending over to place her hands on her knees. Her breaths came in harsh gasps, so quickened by her reckless race. Somehow, between this and her own incessant worrying, she failed to take notice that the classroom was conspicuously quiet. She took a good minute or so to get her breathing under some semblance of control before she straightened. Pushing herself away from the wall, she cautiously opened the correct door and... Froze in the doorway. The only lights coming into this room were from the windows, which was more than enough for her to clearly see that it was empty. A hesitant step was taken into the classroom, her mind already racing at this revelation. Was this class not in session today? She hadn't heard anything about such a thing.. Was there a trip she didn't know about? It seemed that not even the teacher was there. The only breaths that broke the still air were her own. The only heartbeats came from herself. She certainly couldn't feel anything that contracted what the traditional senses told her.
Far from being relieved that this clearly meant she would probably not be in trouble for being so late, she found herself disturbed. She could always make up the class from the safety of her own dorm, but how was she even supposed to know what to do if the teacher wasn't here? Feline ears tilted back, pressing against her skull as one hand found its way to the light switch. Under this additional illumination, everything looked normal enough, other than the lack of bodies warming the seats. Her steps came slow and hesitant, carrying her to a desk at the back of the room, where she would deposited her bag. She felt so much lighter without the load of textbooks to weigh her down. Even if this class was not in session, to the best of her knowledge it was where she was supposed to be. Roaming the halls during class could also get her into some trouble if she was caught.. But being alone in a classroom was creepy...

I have enough of my own overwhelming nightmares.
Temptation calls to seal the rest, these heavy ties to sever.
