Gloom stretched himself out for scritches (always scritches) and let out a purring rumble of agreement. "Yes, time to go back. Y'not used to this place yet, y'gotta practice if y'want to do all the things."

The shadows seemed to wordlessly accept Algie's thanks, their interest waning for the time being. Bored children at their best.

"Can y'take us back over?" Gloom inquired, since the Professor had already sneaked once.

Alg could tell the shadows were done, almost as fickle as real children. Alg nodded to Gloom and glanced around to select the right spot before he simply stepped out.

The shadow world bled away and they were back, as close as he could get them, to where he started. Of course he'd have to keep working on it because it was his first time.

"How'd I do?" His brows lifted at Gloom.

"Y'did pretty good, Professor!" chittered Gloom happily. He was looking around the area, suitably impressed. Even within Ashdown it seemed like there was more shadow to Gloom, as if pieces of him were wisping away if one looked at him just right.

"Y'just gotta make sure and practice, if y'want to get good and that the shadows like ya."

"I will.." Alg nodded and again gave Gloom scratches, "And you practice too. Do you need more books?"

The gem was put in his pocket, and in replacement he produced candies and offered one for Gloom, "Or do you want to watch some TV?"

Yes he was possibly asking Gloom to hang out.

"Y'should tell Gloom about books to read!" exclaimed Gloom in an excited whisper as he was sniffing at the candy before daintily taking it to eat. It did not last long at all, a pink tongue visible briefly behind sharp teeth.

"... is it really okay to watch TV?" As he would absolutely watch TV if he was put in front of it. "Y'don't mind?"

Alg laughed lightly, "Absolutely okay. Just don't delete Jeremiah's DVR'd shows.."

Gloom got another scritch and Alg set about walking. They weren't too far from the house and it seemed an afternoon of books and TV (and snacks) were ahead of them.

"I'm sure Violetta will be home.." He added helpfully.

"Gloom isn't suppose to mess with DVR settings," he said with a bob of his head. It might have even been sagely said.

"Oh! Um, the pretty one is there? What about ..." There was a chittering noise, as if he was looking for a word. "Her brother." Something about the way he said that implied things. As if Hellbine was a nuisance.

"Ah I'm sure he's out.." Alg checked his watch. Hellbine always showed up for dinner and to stay in the for the night. The truth was that even with their independence, the cats owners got worried if they didn't come home for the night.

"I can send him on an errand if not." Alg winked at Gloom.
