Leila smiled more freely, though still subdued from the fatigue of having a panic attack and losing a lot of water. "I know what Eve might say to that," she said. "Something about there always being a way as long as you're still alive. She used to tell me things like that a lot."

He checked his watch, and then got to his feet. "I have tutoring to get to," he said. "And I'm sure Eve's almost done."

"Yeah, she's taking her time," Leila admitted. "That's pretty normal, though... I can just tell her I saw you if you need to get going." She gathered up both of their cans to toss into the recycling bin.
"Thanks for sitting with me... Eve, too, the past few weeks. You've really helped us both."
