"Fair enough. We will just need to find a way, then."

"We'll find it," Jeremiah agreed, head tilting and studying Shun. "There's other things that need to be discussed but I think they can wait until you've gotten some rest and probably a good meal."
He was tired. He was hungry. And there was a s**t ton of things that needed to be done now that he was back. He wasn't happy about that.
"... Ah... thank you for keeping an eye on my things. I am certain Kaji is grateful as well."

"I certainly wasn't going to let anything happen to Kaji," Jeremiah replied, "as I was certain you would not want to return to ..." His hand flicked as if to cover 'a ruined apartment with a dead smell'.
"The department did not go through the place too much either, for what it is worth. It was clear, rather quickly, that you were not taken from here."
"And I am thankful for both of those things," Shun nodded once. His pet hadn't starved to death and his place hadn't been trashed. It was nice.

"There's some fresh food for Kaji," Jeremiah gestured, "that I brought with me." Perhaps someone else would have found this exchange awkward but he had known Shun long enough that he did care about certain things.
"Besides," his lips twitched, "when I went missing they booted by car and fingerprint dusted it to hell and back. Better to make sure you don't have to deal with similar." Jeremiah let out a breath. "Just contact me when you're ready to discuss things. I'll likely be working with Algie on a project tied to the new charter but otherwise available."
Shun furrowed his brow at that. It certainly seemed unpleasant.
"Of course. I will see you soon, then, I suppose," he uttered.

"If I don't contact you first," Jeremiah offered. "Just to make sure you haven't disappeared again." His shoulders rolled. "I'll see you at work about taking care of the entire ... missing situation."
Then he was gone in a blink, as if he had not been there in the first place.
