Just as he was coming to his senses, an odd sensation had overcome Connor. What he was feeling exactly was a mystery to him, though perhaps due to it, he didn't seem all that concerned with the Mega Gyarados making a beeline toward him. But he wasn't the only one, his Combusken was also feeling it! This sensation; it gave him the will to act and save his trainer! Just then the fowl would emerge from his pokeball with a war cry...and then immediately panicked once he realized he was in water. Connor gave his Pokemon a look, but honestly, this was par the norm for the poor guy. He reached out to keep the bird afloat as the giant closed in on them. The others tried to keep it at bay, but it was pretty focused on devouring the easy target. Just before he could lose hope, Combusken started to glow and his body began to morph in his grasp. When Mega Gyarados had closed the distance, Connor felt himself be the one who was carried and lifted out of the water. The form the fire type now took- Blaziken, acted quickly and jumped onto the massive beast with his trainer underarm. Then with proper footing, leaped high into the air to avoid the attacks the others were firing at the enemy.

Aile looked around at the battlefield, raising an eyebrow at Dan and his freshly evolved Blaziken. Talk about timing. Her eyes then spied the electricity crackling on the ground and began to think. "Wait... Can't he actually?... Maybe." The woman would pull out a Great Ball and throw it out, bringing her Nidoking into the fray. "Voort, since that Gyarados is such a huge target, try a Thunder!" Voort would snort once he saw his target, a small smirk on his face as he gathered the electrical energy for his attack, throwing his hands out and letting out a huge bolt of lightning bolstered by the Electric Terrain at the Mega Gyarados.

Odd jumped up and and back into the embrace of Treble, signalling to Celesta to join Terashi and his tiny electric type on the island he had made. "Help out with the damage, use Thunderbolt!" He told her, watching as she soaked up some of the electrical energy and fired off a larger, more wild Thunderbolt than what was normal for the recently learned move. As far as dealing with what was going on, the channeler could sense Lykas nearby. It felt like he was coming this way. "Guys, I think Lykas is coming!" He called out. ~~~ Amrita froze midstep as she led Lykas across the island. "Oh dear... Oh no..." Her composure fractured momentarily. "That girl gone too far this time..." She muttered to herself. "Lykas, it appears your friends are in peril. I had never intended it to happen but I believe Myrn has taken them to Poorv's den. We need to hurry!" Her pace quickened, her strides lengthening. "What is Poorv, exactly?" Lykas asked again, picking up his pace and following after the woman, his distrust having slowly dissolved into little more than irritation at this point. "The Dragon King is a mighty Gyarados. One who has evolved beyond what any normal one might achieve in it's lifetime. It's strength is so great that it can hold it's own against It." Amrita explained, though it sound like she wasn't quite sure exactly what made Poorv into what it was, either. "Evolved beyond-? MEGA EVOLUTION!" Lykas snapped his fingers as he looked to his belt. "Right... I don't have any of my Pokemon on me..." He grumbled. "I need my Pokemon back. If we have to fight, I have a Pokemon that could hold it's own against a Mega Evolved Gyarados." "Taryn!" Amrita called out at Lykas' request. The young hybrid appeared from behind a large shrub nearby. "Yes, Mother?" "Return your brother's Pokemon to him. We must go calm Poorv." Amrita replied, never stopping as Taryn fell into step with her and Lykas. "As you wish, Mother." Taryn replied, pulling Lykas' Pokeball belt from inside of his vest and throwing it over his shoulder rather loosely. Grabbing it out of the air with his ponytail, Lykas snapped it around his waist and quickly pulled one free from it. Tossing the ball into the air, he grinned at the Pokemon that appeared before him. "Mykel. Get ready for a hell of a fight." He warned the Gardevoir. "I'm combat ready!" Mykel assured with a bright smile and a playful salute. "Good, boy." Lykas grinned a bit more sadistically. Following Amrita further, Lykas ended up finding himself at the scene just as the other Snagems started attacking the immense Gyarados Amrita had called the "Dragon King". "Mykel! Time to unleash our full power on this thing!" He called to his partner. Placing two fingers on the stone embedded into his waist wrap, threads of rainbow colored energy erupted from it, snaking through the air toward Mykel as a similar bundle of the same strings of light emerged from the stone hanging from the rope belt he wore. The threads rapidly conjoined, the energy racing between them growing in power and luminosity at an exponential rate. The energy building up in those small chains of light and raw power quickly coalesced into a crystalline sphere surrounding Mykel, the energy from inside it rapidly growing as the Pokemon underwent a metamorphosis some of the others might have been familiar with by now, should they sense it happening or just look and see it for themselves. Only a fraction of a moment later, the crystal shell would explode, shards erupting into the sea and dissolving into the sky as Mykel emerged, his form having changed dramatically. "Knock it back! They need some space!" Lykas ordered, jumping into the water and heading toward the immense beast, despite his certainty that this thing was just going to make something even worse mad. Mykel nodded and, knowing that Lykas was counting on him, he called up a massive orb of solidified moonlight, compressing the energy down to a manageable size, before hurling it with all the grace of a ballroom dancer, yet with the force of a professional pitcher throwing a fastball, straight at the beast's open maw. "Eat that, b***h!" The Fairy-type exclaimed as he loosed the attack.

Thanks to the well timed evolution and quick thinking of Connor's now Blaziken the Snagem was spared becoming a meal for the mighty leviathan. With his target gone the Mega Gyarados would whip around and rise up out of the water, 'standing' tall as it let out an angry ear splitting roar. Before the monster could do much else Cutie appeared and attempted to dose the beast called Poorve with Stun Spore. While it didn't seem to actually paralyze the serpent it did appear to work just enough to cause it to flinch up for a bit.
Thanks to Yuki's creation of an empowering electrical field Valdemar, Celesta, and Voort would each launch an empowered Electric attack at the beast, the Charge Beam, Thunderbolt and Thunder slamming into the monster, shocking it. The Mega Gyarados would growl as it tried to fight through the static charge in its body, just waiting to attack. It would have to wait longer however as a new Mega Pokemon arrived on the scene and sent an orb of Fairy energy slamming into its mouth.
"Hey! Lykas! You're okay!" Sub declared happily as he noticed Lykas had arrived. "I was worried they fed you to this thing...which is what I imagine they have planned for you." He chuckled, despite the dire situation. "I got to say, isolated island of Water hybrids, a giant Gyarados protecting them...this all sounds very familiar..." He pondered aloud.
While the Snagems did seem to finally knock the Mega Gyarados back a ways it was still a long way before this fight was over as the Atrocious Pokemon caught its breath and shook off the excess electricity. With another terrible roar the beast would unleash a massive stream of fire from its maw at the Snagems, the Mega Pokemon executing a Flamethrower on an incredible scale, the flames threatening to engulf the entire little sandbar the grounded Snagems found themselves on.
That said, while all this went on and for that brief moment when the Mega Gyarados recovered from the attacks Connor would noticed something, feel something. It was similar to the sensation he felt when the one called Poorv tried to eat him but instead of feeling it inside of him he felt it coming from somewhere else. After just a few seconds of looking around he would turn his attention to the giant pillar that stood in the middle of the bay, all by its lonesome. There was something strange about it, something inviting almost. None of the other Snagems would find anything noteworthy about it but Connor did, it captivated him and he would have no idea why.

"GET BACK!" I shouted, recalling Yuki as quick as I could before leaping at Keiko, trying to push both of us out of the range of Gyarados's Flamethrower. I wanted to seriously question how it knew that move, but there wasn't any point worrying about it now. My first instinct was to pull Haku out and have him use Protect again, but I didn't have time to pull Yuki back AND let Haku out AND have him use a move. That Flamethrower came at us too quick.
Keiko lept back up and ran back to her spot almost immediately after we landed out of Flamethrower's reach, and I didn't know why until I got up and looked back in Gyarados's general direction - Cutie had fanted. Keiko didn't react quick enough to recall her and she, being weak to Fire-type energy, couldn't stand against a Flamethrower from a Mega-Evolved Pokemon.
I sighed at the sight. I was tempted to keep Haku out so he could Protect us when needed, but I knew the folly in trying that. Protect would fail eventually. I couldn't rely on that. My only choice was to press the advantage with-
A dark sensation cut my thoughts short, bringing my attention back to Keiko. She was angry. Like, really angry. As if that emotion were consuming her. It took me by surprised because I never thought Keiko, considering what I knew of her, was capable of that much... well, hatred. The word didn't feel right considering the person feeling it, but it was the only word that described what I was feeling from her. She stood up and summoned Natalia, demanding that she use Psychic on the Gyarados - to put as much energy as she could into the attack. I just watched.
What are you doing? I berated myself mentally. Yeah, she's angry. She just had one of her Pokemon faint. She has a right to be. You're acting like she's angry at you, for Arceus's sake. Pull yourself together, man.
I shook my head and walked up, standing beside Keiko. "That's enough setup, Yuki. Don't worry about using Nasty Plot. Just take all the energy you have on hand now and use Thundershock on that Gyarados."
Yuki did as she was told as Natalia poured Psychic-type energy into Gyarados's mind via Psychic, aiming the electricity so that Natalia didn't get clipped by it. But the size of Yuki's attack, it looked like she was using Thunderbolt instead of Thundershock. Looking back, that's probably when she learned how to use Thunderbolt...

Connor was struck with awe, staring up at the Pokemon who carried him. Did Combusken really evolve? He was glad, but also confused on how this happened exactly? Rather than looking a gift Rapidash in the mouth, he would settle with it for now. Blaziken aimed his descent to be with the others on the sandbar, landing but stumbling and kicking up sand in the process. Getting used to his new form was going to take a while it seemed. Connor on the other hand, now back on his own two feet, refocused his attention on the battle, trying to see where to attack Mega Gyarados. Sitting in the middle of the water, it would be hard for Blaziken to attack from anywhere but at a distance. But then, his eyes drifted over to something peculiar: a pillar that stood out in the middle of nowhere. How strange that he was getting that same sensation from just a second ago from this large object. "It must have something to do with the Gyarados" he mused to himself. "Comb- Blaziken! Let's go mess with that thin-!" Without warning, the tall chicken scooped him up and jump high once more into the air. They had narrowly missed the Flamethrower from the sea monster, but were still close enough to feel the intensity of the flames. This time while in the air, Blaziken would land by the pillar as instructed. The trainer walked over to it, eyeing it suspiciously. "I was gonna say we should break it but..." he commented, placing a hand on it. What exactly was this thing?

Voort's eyes would widen as the Pokémon braced himself for the wave of flames, the Nidoking attempting to stand his ground. During that time, Tatooine would whisk her trainer into the air once more, Aile muttering a curse as she stared down the monstrous sea serpent. At least until she finally noticed Lykas. "Oh, hey, there you are, now can we get out of here? Seriously..."
Aile would look down at Voort once the Flamethrower had abided, noting the Pokémon was down on one knee and panting. "Damn.... hm. Maybe... Voort, return," Aile would call out, recalling the Nidoking before pulling out a Safari Ball once more, "Sarlaac, come on out again. Try out a Mega Drain on the Gyarados!" Once Sarlaac was out, though, she took note of her companions and the Pokémon that they had out, biting the corner of her lip before shaking her head. Leaning in to talk to her Flygon, she said, "Tati, if the need arises, launch a Sandstorm. Don't want to right now, but if Sarlaac gets into trouble for some reason...."
Meanwhile, Sarlaac would open her mouth when she was released and launch out a green orb of energy at the Mega Gyarados, a line of smaller orbs returning back to the Sandygast after a couple of seconds once it had hit its mark.

The Psychic blast would do nothing as the Dark typing of the Mega Gyarados blessed it with an immunity to such mental attacks. The suped up Thundershock however would along with the Mega Drain threatening to sap its life away. Valdemar would continue to aid in the fight as it blasted the monster with another Charge Beam. Further angered the beast would let out a roar and prepared to attack again before something else grabbed its attention.
The seemingly metal pillar would respond to Connor's touch as he placed his hand on it, the pillar feeling warm to the touch. A humming sound would be heard by only Connor, a pleasant melody which vaguely sounded like talking though too far off and distorted to make out. Somehow, for some reason, Connor would feel as if the pillar was happy to see him, that is if inanimate objects could actually have emotions.
This bizarre meeting between long lost friends would come to a dazzling end as the pillar unleashed a bright flash of rainbow colored light, the Mega Gyarados roaring angrily in that direction in response, the monster charging up what appeared to be a Hyper Beam but before it could something else happened.
The flash of light would consume everyone in the general area, causing Sub to shield his eyes, hoping that he wouldn't need glasses after this. Once the light subsided the Snagems would find several things had changed. One, the massive Mega Gyarados, while still in Mega form, seemed to have become slightly smaller though bigger than average. Another thing was the pillar was gone, or rather it took had gotten smaller, way smaller. Connor would find himself holding in his hands the 'pillar', now the size of a pole, even he probably wasn't sure at what point he grabbed it.
With an angry trash of its tail the leviathan would finish charging up the Hyper Beam and unleash towards Connor himself, the Atrocious Pokemon seemingly infuriated over Connor holding the former pillar. In that moment Connor would feel the rod in his hands trying to communicate with him, the man once again feeling a sort of invigorating energy flowing into him through the rod. Before he might ponder where the energy came from but now that he held the rod in his hands he knew what was the source; his Blaziken. They were sharing energy somehow and the rod was responsible. With this new connection established Connor would feel much more confident in the face of the massive beam threatening to strike him down, now all he had to do was act.

After knocking Poorv for a loop, Mykel stepped back a few paces, a bit tired out by the exertion. "No time for a break now!" He scolded himself, Rushing toward the massive serpent just as Connor reached the pillar. The flash blinded him for a moment but it wasn't enough to stop him. Utilizing his Psychic, he carried himself into the air and, thrusting his arms out to his sides and drawing them in at his hip as if he were forming another small Moonblast, he condensed a large quantity of Fairy energy together. "Gonna need a little help!" He told Connor as he unleashed a Pixilated Hyper Beam, the pink stream of power blasting him backwards even as it stalled out Poorv's attack. Clearly the Mega Gyarados had more power due to it's experience with the state but dammit, Mykel was going to try and stop it!
Lykas bolted into the water as well, darting through the water like any fish, drawing close enough to aim an attack of his own. His forehead gem glowed as he charged up and fired a full-power Waterspout toward Poorv's mouth.
Odd, from the air, where Treble was carrying him, tossed out Fermata's ball. The Decidueye appeared and began flapping furiously.
"What's wrong with you-hoo?! I can't fly!" Fermata yelped before he started falling, utilizing his wings to at least slow his fall so he didn't get hurt.
"You're a bird who can't fly?" Odd asked, a bit shocked, honestly.
"I'm a ground bird, genious!" Fermata replied a she landed on the tiny island that had survived Poorv's first attack.
"Whatever. Use Energy Ball on that thing!" Odd called back, pointing to the giant serpent.
"Giratina's Wings! It's colossal!" Fermata replied as he drew an arrow and charged an energy ball on it's tip, firing the explosive projectile to distract the serpent from the front-facing moves that were trying to take it down.

There was almost something warm and familiar about this pillar before him. Ridiculous as this was the first he'd laid eyes on it. Connor was left almost in a daze as his mind began to wander, paying no mind to his surroundings and practically forgetting what danger he and the others were in. All he could focus on was this mysterious pillar and how it seemed to be speaking to him. His Blaziken, who noticed something odd, tried to get the trainer's attention but to no avail. No cries would reach him; it was as if he wasn't even there. But when he reached out to touch him, the Pokemon would too feel this sensation.
Suddenly, the blinding light would engulf Connor and his Pokemon, though they embraced it and didn't turn away. The trainer would finally come to, now holding the pillar turned rod. "A...bo staff?" he'd mutter to himself. This was...what? He didn't know what happened or why, but clearly this had an effect on the Mega Gyarados. It was smaller now, wasn't it? Having earned this beast's ire, his tampering with the pillar seemed to be the cause. "Heh. If it was that important you should've guarded it better" Connor taunted as it was preparing a Hyper Beam. But he would not be intimidated. This pole was special; he could feel it speaking to him and giving off energy. No, bot the forner pillar, but his Blaziken! Just then, Mykel would step up to assist him, fending off the blast with one of his own. "Help? Maybe with this, I can... Blaziken!" The fire type quickly sprang into action, leaping in the direction of the sea monster. As for Connor, he knew what to do, as he held the rod up as instructed. He was going to give that energy back to his Blaziken as he went in for a High Jump Kick to the giant's face, with his beak showing a cocky smile.

The energy which flowed from the staff to Blaziken would have stunning effects on the Blaze Pokemon as it appeared to consume him, take on a crystalline shell form around him, and then explode into nothingness to reveal a transformed Pokemon. Now with black markings, ribbons of flames, and exuding much more power than before the now Mega Blaziken's High Jump Kick would make contact with the Mega Gyarados' face, its mug left wide open after Fermata had blasted it in the side with an Energy Ball, drawing its attention.
The Mega energy empowered kick would prove to be too much for the leviathan as it toppled over with a weak roar and slammed into the beach side, kicking up sand and water as it did. Connor's Blaziken however would not be able to relish in the glory of its newfound power as once it landed it would find its self reverted back to its original state and that power he and its trainer felt was now gone. Strangely enough it would be noted that not only did Blaziken revert back to a normal state but so would the massive Gyarados as with a flash of light it now lay unconscious in a more common form.
"Okay, what just happened?" Sub asked as he finally landed, recalling both Valdemar and Pallas. "What did you do, Connor?" He asked the man who now held what used to be a massive pillar in his hand. "You okay, Lykas? They didn't do anything freaky to ya, did they?" He also asked the formerly kidnapped Snagem.

Blaziken had transformed before it had even realized it, springing off the Gyarados' face as he made contact. With a backwards somersault through he air, he would land back where he started. As he looked at his appearance, he would see that he was already back to normal. Connor, who simply stood and watched, could not stop grinning to himself in a eerie fashion. There was a reason he didn't and probably shouldn't smile. He spun the staff in hand before standing it upright beside him. "Not sure, but I bet it has to do with Gyarados' pillar. I'm keeping this" he proudly claimed for himself. "It doesn't seem like he's been converted yet..." After all, he and Mykel did help in defeating the Mega.

With Mykel slowly drifting back down to LYkas' side, the hybrid nodded to Sub and Connor, then looked over to Aile, Terashi and Keiko. "I'm alright." He promised them all with a smile.
"You idiot! After acting like a major a** when I disappeared, you go and pull the same crap?" Odd shouted as Treble slowly lowered him tot he ground to meet with the hybrid. Fermata, thankfully, was there to cool the Channeler's heels. Throwing one of his wings up between Odd and Lykas, he nodded to his partner's mate. "We're glad to see you-hoo, Lykas. Are you-hoo safe?"
"Did you just cut me off?" Odd asked the owl, clearly not happy with him. A drop of sweat rolled down the owl's forehead(Could birds even sweat? How'd he manage that?) as he lowered his wing, laughing nervously.
"I'm fine." Lykas insisted. "I'm still not sure I believe she's my mother but this is Amrita." He told the others, waving a hand toward the woman claiming to be his birth mother. "And according to what she's told me... I have some research to do." He told them.
Amrita, standing behind Lykas when he had sent Mykel to help, was nowhere to be seen, however. At least not near Lykas. Rather, she had rushed too Poorv's aid when the mighty beast had fallen. "You poor creature!" She brushed the pseudo-dragon's 's face tenderly, clearly worried for it's well-being. "Myrn!" She shouted, anger evident in her voice.

Between Connor apparently stealing away some divinely powerful rod and unlocking what he assumed to be some type of Channeling ability and Lykas announcing that he may have discovered his birth mother Sub was positively exhausted with this entire experience. Without questioning much else of what has transpired today, and certainly not giving a damn about that oversized snake in the water of which a certain 'mother' was fawning over, the Dark One would take out his SNAG and dial up the team's Clay-taxi. "Okay, apparently we all have a lot to talk about but I am soaked to the bone, my shoes partially melted, and there is sand in places of which I don't even want to speak of. I am going home and taking a shower and finding a new pair of shoes. Oh and Lykas's mom or whoever you are? We're keeping that." He said, pointing to Connor's pole. "Consider it payment for what we went through. Later." And with that said Claydol would appear and take Sub away, reappearing to teleport away anyone else. ---
