Upon leaving the shop, Amaranth would see the ruins of what might've been this place before all the changes had been made to it. Whatever odd energy the labyrinth had must've been at its weakest here, though regardless if it were or not, she wouldn't be able to tell the difference. What she could tell, though, were the intricate carvings on the wall. Not what they were, but that they existed. As soon as she drew near them, she'd notice a swarm of Unown come out of nowhere and start to surround her and Forge. Though she'd grab Forge in an effort to protect him, they'd find that the Unown weren't of a hostile sort. Instead, a very small portion of their energy would find its way into the Fletchling, slightly healing his wounds as they scattered and leaving a few Silver Tokens in their wake.

Taking the tokens and nodding in thanks, they'd leave the room at once and proceed to the next one.

One might be forgiven for thinking that the next room's appearance felt like it was part of the same ruins the Unown swarmed around. Seeing the various old weapons and armor, well maintained despite possibly being as old as the labyrinth itself if not older, was unsettling to Amaranth and she couldn't help remembering her last trek in the labyrinth. She wouldn't have been surprised if one of the suits sprang to life as a Golurk or something, staring at everything intently as she slowly made her way towards the exit with Forge. Her pace would quicken when the sounds of something clattering became apparent, leaving her all the more paranoid when she got to the door and went to open it.

"Come on, Forge, let's just-"

All at once, a shadow would look over Amaranth as a sword and shield had revealed itself to be an Aegislash, ready to strike her down... until Forge went after it with a Flame Charge. In one smooth motion, it'd shift from attacking into a defensive stance, its King's Shield protecting it from the attack with ease. Forge would bounce off it upon impact, though it seemed like Aegislash didn't move.

It stayed there, keeping its defensive stance in an effort to prepare for whatever was about to come next. It felt safe in its anticipation, taking the second Flame Charge that came from Forge and hurting a bit afterward. In fact, it was hurting more than it thought it would, causing it to defend itself even more with Iron Defense. Forge wouldn't stop his assault, however, chirping fiercely and determined to make sure his trainer wasn't attacked any further. As the third Flame Charge hit, Aegislash would retaliate with a quick Slash and managed a decent hit. But in doing so, it wasn't able to continue defending as easily.

This in turn saw it taking yet another Flame Charge, the flames doing its own bit of harm and finally making the Aegislash relent and leave the room. However, it wouldn't be far from either of them, watching and biding its time until it could mount a better assault... odder still, it left a few Silver Tokens and
another of the oddly colored shards, possibly to continue its motives. They'd be taken anyway as they cautiously left the room and headed for the next.

Roll Modifiers and Result:

Even odder still, exiting from the medieval armory would bring the two back to the ruins from before. The Unown would swarm them all over again, first giving them three more Silver Tokens. Then, a few of them would spell something out. Something quite readable, in fact.

"G...get... out...? What?"

Then, they suddenly blasted both of them with their Hidden Power and departed. Wondering what had them upset, they'd quickly leave for the next room.

As they began to enter the room, Amaranth couldn't help but feel the usual sense of dread loom over them more than usual. Taking the Max Potion out, she'd have Forge stay still long enough for her to use it and tend to his wounds. At the very least, she felt it'd give some peace of mind as she examined the room before them. No door seemed to be present, for some reason, except for the one they'd come in from. One wall had a bunch of odd plaques, each one with a different elemental stone. On the other, a mirror that spanned the entire wall... and one that wasn't showing things as it should. A glance was enough to show her that the order of the plaques were different between them, leaving her confused for a second.

The only guess she could think of was that they needed to be rearranged. But in what way, she wasn't sure. It wasn't like either one had a lot of rhyme or reason to her, and the rearrangement wasn't so much with a lot of thought as it was hoping that simply reversing their original order would suffice. By the time she was done, the wall had been arranged for the Leaf Stone to take the far left, then Water, Fire, Ice and finally Thunder. She stared at it for a good while alongside Forge, unsure if it was right at all. She was about to take the plaques and try again when they suddenly vanished, as if merging into the wall.

She'd turn around instantly to see if the mirror was doing the same, but what was seen next wasn't what either of them had expected. Several Pokemon began to emerge from the mirror, and they didn't look anything like the sort of fare that was normal even by the labyrinth's standards. A Vileplume started things by spraying Poison Powder around the room, catching Forge without any issue at all. A Vaporeon would follow suit with Surf to blast the Fletchling into the wall, letting the Elektross and Alolan Sandslash to go from there once they shook off the attack. Though Forge would be able to move in time to avoid the Icicle Crash, the same luck wouldn't come twice as a Discharge zapped everyone in the room. Finally, an Arcanine would add to the collateral damage by rocking the entire room with a Bulldoze attack, with even the Fletchling feeling the effects as he ended up on the ground from the utter onslaught. Elektross would be the only one to be mostly unscathed from it all, floating and avoiding the Bulldoze with ease.

Had it not been for a few of their attacks going after friend and foe alike, there was no way they'd seemingly survive. Then again, another assault like that would ensure that any number of them falling wouldn't matter. Forge was at least able to do something after he recovered the slight bit he could, giving a harsh glow as he moved to slam into the Alolan Sandslash with all his might. The Flame Charge would be enough to put the icy Pokemon out instantly, sending it back into the mirror it came from. Without hesitation, he'd attack again and bound into the Vileplume with Acrobatics. Though it wasn't enough to bring it to the same fate, the glowing would finally cease.

The fight would turn out to be quite the catalyst, the small Fletchling evolving in response. Residual flames would still spin around him from the earlier Flame Charge, but they'd dissipate quickly. The remaining Pokemon would look at one another in response, with Vaporeon stepping up first to try and blast the newly-evolved Fletchinder with a Hydro Pump, or at least with the intent to. The bird darting all around the room made it hard for it to aim effectively. In the process, he'd be able to fly into Elektross with Quick Attack, pausing on impact.

Vaporeon would attack at once in retaliation for its ally, firing the Hydro Pump... and missing. Forge would manage to get out of the way just in time, leaving Elektross to take the brunt of the attack instead. Out of anger, Elektross would decide that the three could do better without Vaporeon's poor display. A single Zap Cannon was enough to force it out of the fight, giving Arcanine time to slam into Forge with Extreme Speed. Vileplume would aid with Petal Blizzard, but the attack nearly brought Elektross down too.

To Forge? The attack was inconsequential compared to the rest. He'd move to fly into Elektross with another Quick Attack to finally pick it off, staring down the Arcanine and Vileplume that remained. Vileplume would respond by having roots come from its feet, trying to keep itself in the fight with Ingrain while Arcanine's intense heat made the room almost unbearably hot. All at once, the entire room seemed to be blasted and covered in flames, the powerful Burn Up trying to consume all in its wake. Amaranth was left taking a defensive stance in a vain effort to keep herself safe, only to desperately roll to try and put the flames out on herself.

Forge would still manage to hang on, but Vileplume wouldn't share any sort of safety, taken out immediately in the process. Whatever fire the Arcanine had going in was drastically weaker, barely enough to keep fueling attacks of that type. It was also quite open from the attack afterward, allowing the Fletchinder to rush into it with Aerial Ace and weakening it all the further. Knowing it wouldn't be able to keep fighting as it was, however, the Arcanine opted to merge back into the mirror, a door finally appearing to allow the two to progress.

Visibly shaken and wanting to get out at once, Amaranth didn't hesitate for another second. She and Forge rushed right on out of the room, Poison slowly beginning to take its toll and flames threatening to burn whatever or whoever it could. A few tokens and a Yellow Shard would find its way to them, somehow.

Other Actions:
Max Potion used to recover all HP before battle. Fletchling evolved at end of battle and is poisoned.

After the arduous fight in the room before, Amaranth would finally have enough time to get the few remaining flames patted down and dealt with, panting and trying to regain her composure. Soon after, she and Forge would see a single chest in the room, cautiously opening it to find an Enigma Berry inside. Sighing in what was hopefully relief, she'd take it and cautiously go on her way to the next room.

[Floor 3, Room 12]


Leaving behind the room before them, Amaranth and Forge would find a room that might as well have been a freezer. A couple of signs were around about some sort of frozen treat, and judging by the frozen ice cream parlor, it didn't look like it saw much in the way of success. Hail would fall almost as soon as they drew near the ice cream parlor, with a Vanilluxe coming out and trying to fend the two off with its own attacks... to surprisingly little effect. Completely unamused, Forge would bound into it with Aerial Ace to push it into the parlor. What came next was an important reminder to never get on the Fletchinder's bad side.

Steam would quickly billow from the frozen parlor, followed by flames spewing out of the open windows. Another ice chunk would be broken in the process from within, followed by two Vanilluxe hightailing it and leaving a mystery as to where the other had come from. Regardless, neither one had much of a chance against the fiery bird. A few tokens and a couple of shards were left behind in the process, but if anything had done any sort of real damage to Forge, it was the poison wreaking havoc in his body.

Deciding not to mention anything about whatever had constituted as a "fight," she'd continue onward and took notice of the large doors that followed the one leading out of the room. Memories of the last time here came back to her, and if anything, now was the time to prepare. Silver Key in hand, she'd use it to make a quick escape to the shop.
