Cubs, cubs, cubs, Jua'johari thought frantically to himself. He knew where they were supposed to be--with their mother--but he also knew at least one was missing. Kitoko--where was Kitoko?!

The air was lit with an anguished din--screams, cries of pain and sorrow, the whistling of the stars as they fell from the sky, crashing into the ground or cruelly hitting their targets. But not his cub, not any of his cubs. No, he had to find him, he had to find him--

There!

"KITOKO!" Jua shouted at the top of his lungs. His son was like a white snowball in the grass, hiding in plain sight from the chaos around him. He looked petrified. Jua launched himself into a mad dash towards his cub, dodging other lions and falling stars along the way. He had nearly reached his son when a star shot right across his path, stopping the male in his tracks. As he skidded to a halt, he toppled into another running lion and tripped hard, falling forward on his chin and earning himself a nasty scrape. He roused himself to his feet as best he could, shook off the stun, and hobbled towards his son the rest of the way. He collapsed over the cub, shielding him. "It's ok," he hushed above the screams, "it's ok, I've got you."

Unfortunately for Ushindi, the lion that Jua had run into had been him. His round body somersaulted and slid on a wet patch of long grass. He groaned with frustration and pain as he rolled to his stomach. He shook his mane out of his eyes and tried to glare at whoever had hit him, but saw it was a father and cub. Ushindi swallowed, reminded of what was going on. He got to his feet, slipping and nearly falling again. The grass was wet with blood. Ushindi blanched and stared around for the source, but found none.

"Dalila...?" he called above the noise. And then more urgently, "DALILA!"

"YEAH!" came the impatient response. Dalila was standing in cover of trees, ducking at every possible sound. She was scared out of her wits. The flying, black monster was bad enough, but now the stars were falling?! Was it the end of times? Was she going to die? Was everyone going to die? Was this the end of the Pridelands--of life itself? But no, Dalila planned to live as long as possible. Damn her loyalty, though--she couldn't run off without making sure her friends were safe. She turned her emotions off towards the bodies collapsing to death around her. She had to. She had to feel nothing right now. The pain could come later. If she lived. If any of them lived...

"Hurry UP, you big idiot! THIS WAY," she roared at the fat oaf of a lion. She took off running as soon as he began to run after her.

[[OOC: I just decided that Mawingu and Njozi are not here atm. Maybe they will show up later, dun dun dun...]]

It hadn't been long since she'd settled back in the pride, seeking Jua out and telling him about being pregnant... not that it hadn't been obvious at that point but still. She had enjoyed every minute, her family was .. beautiful. She found herself feeling at ease around Jua, even if they hadn't officially decided on what they were to each other yet. Parents, she supposed. Either way everything had been going... extremely well..

And then all of a sudden it wasn't. Lions were screaming and running, not far off a winged lion had appeared... and she'd heard stories of gods her entire life but she hadn't been sure she really believed them... and in the next second the stars seemed to be crashing down into the earth... screams of terror bubbled into something more painful and somehow more horrifying...

She'd been standing in shock what felt like for a very long time... but probably had only been seconds. "Children, we need to go now." She snapped, stumbling to her feet. She looked stricken, though that look slipped into sheer terror when she realized her baby was missing. "Kids, kids! Have any of you seen Kitoko?" She was trying not to sound panicked, trying to stay strong... but she could feel her limbs shaking. "All of you, this way!" And then she was rushing, trying not to watch the great fiery masses landing and exploding the ground all around her. She was trying not to listen to the screaming and the crying... trying to imagine this was not something her beautiful cubs were experiencing.

She kept them together, gaze desperately seeking out that beautiful splotch of white that should have been so easy to spy in the evening. She wasn't sure if her eyes were really taking anything in or not and ... and then she saw! "JUA! JUA, PLEASE IS HE WITH YOU?" She was ushering the cubs to their father, feeling the terror of the situation more distinctly now... was he okay? Was Kitoko okay?

Mafa didn't understand what was happening... it was loud and it was scary and he wanted to curl up in a ball but their mother kept saying to move and move and move. After he'd looked a few places around and saw some truly horrible things... limbs ripped away from bodies... lions on fire.... he kept his blue gaze steadily on his mother. She was safe, she was safe, she was safe.

There was no time.

Kiasi could not stop to look for Shaji as she realized he had fallen behind her because she knew every second that she wasted on his safety was a second she would not get to ensure that of her children, or her grandchildren, this family that they had built up together over so many years. She was not as nimble as she once was but still she dove forward, leaping sidelong as meteors crashed within feet of her and grimacing as splatters of rock and dust ricocheted off of her tawny pelt.

There was no time; not to worry for herself, not to worry for the lions that dropped down like flies around her, not to care for the beast in the sky.

When she saw them at last a wave of relief swept over her - only to be replaced with horror as her a spattering of rock pelted her youngest son.

"Kayode!"

Her voice broke free of her jowls without a thought and she pushed herself, harder and faster, ignoring the way debris jabbed at the bottom of her pads.

Adannaya, for all that she played at being her mother's daughter, at knowing all the answers and being in control of every situation, simply stood there slack jawed and horrified as rocks began raining down upon them and the adults - the ones that were meant to protect them - fell crashing down beneath them. Her muscles were locked in place and her bones were rigid with fear as she tried to think of what to do - how did they dodge these? Where did they run?

In front of her, her brother was pelted with a rock and she gasped, only to stare with horror as he ripped it free and a jet of blood poured down his dark fur. Her mouth gaped, made to form his name, but instead heard her mother's voice shouting it -

"Mom?"

She whirled to the sound of the older female, daring for a moment to hold hope in her heart. Only, above her, a large, flaming chunk of metal and rock was whizzing right down at her and the only soul who even seemed aware was that very same lioness she had hoped, somehow, was coming to save her.

"No," Kiasi screamed, casting a puzzled look across her daughters face. With one, last desperate leap she shoved the smaller female out of the way and sent her sprawling in a tumble across the ground. The meteor fell where she had been standing, crashing into Kiasi's back and filling her ears with a sickening, wet snap. She collapsed in a heap upon the ground with a ragged gasp of breath and looked up to find a pair of worried, golden eyes staring back down at her.

"Asili", she whispered, ignoring the way blood was bubbling over her jowls, "do not let her.. see. Run." Her dark blue eyes were brimming with tears as she realized these were the last moments she would have with her children, with her grandchildren, with anyone. "Run," she insisted, using every last ounce of command that was left to her.

The dark male opened his mouth to protest, to say that they would save her, but he knew his grandmother never made the wrong choice. If she wanted them to run without her then it meant.. that she couldn't. He leaned forward as he heard Adannaya scrambling to her feet and pressed a last, gentle nuzzle against her forehead.

"Go with the stars," he mumbled before turning and leveling his best imitation of his grandmother's stern look upon his young aunt and uncle. The meteors were still crashing, the lands were still unsafe..

"We have to move," he howled, planting himself in front of Kiasi's weakening form, "Kayode, Adannaya, for the border! Go!"

Adannaya stared at him, trying to look past him, trying to see - mother? Where was father? A sickening, hopeless feeling swelled within her gut but her eyes met Asili's and she knew..

Go.

"Kayode," she howled, butting her head into his unharmed shoulder to get his attention. "We have to go!"

Asili moved forward, herding them, and Adannaya did not wait any longer - she bolted.

Kiasi watched as the girl ran for her life, watching the way her teal puff swayed as she went, the only bit of her children that reminded her of her love. She turned, coughing blood as she did, and let her eyes land on her Shaji as he hobbled, slower and slower, in her direction. With every bit of strength left to her, she drug herself forward on her belly in a vain attempt to meet him halfway one last time.

The meteors fell around her but her midnight eyes rested only on him, for eternity.

"Dad?"

Amaryllis turned a pair of worried eyes on her father as he looked back at her through gritted teeth. She was trembling now, afraid and unsure of herself, wondering why she had ever thought it was a good idea to settle down anywhere -

But those thoughts were cut short as a meteorite plummeted into the earth next to her and sent a shower of shards spitting up into her face. On her back, her blue friend shrieked, and immediately began plucking at strips that had embedded themselves in her neck and cheeks. They weren't deep wounds but they bled and stung and though she would never say it, Inkumba was certain they would scar; her eyes welled up with tears and she squinted an eye shut against the swell of blood.

"Dad," she whined, helpless, and the dark male that had tried to come to her rescue felt his heart breaking for her. She was too young for this.

"Keep moving," Isithunzi urged, and stepped into pace. "There is a river and a beyond it, the canyons, you will be safe there. We just have to go."

Once he was certain they were moving, he turned forward and began to trot - only to hear a loud, whistling sound from above. He knew he shouldn't have stopped to look, he should have just bolted, but what if it had been coming at someone else? The fiery, angry rock pelted him across his right shoulder and his entire arm went limp as he felt it shatter beneath the weight.

His eyes were swimming with stars as the pain rushed through him and as he dropped his head, weary, he saw the earth beneath his feet begin to dribble with blood.

She wasn't.. safe yet.

"Go," he urged, limping forward on three legs with all his might even as the pain began to overwhelm him and his head grew dizzy, "run for the river!"

Each step was agony, though it lessened as his thoughts grew weak and his body more limp. He kept pace with them for a time, then slowly began to fall back, little by little, until he at last had no choice but to lay down in a crumpled, useless heap. Blood began to pool around him as he watched the girl and her father, urging them forward with every ounce of his willpower and thinking only to himself - go.

At least, if they made it, he had left this world with one good deed.

"Ormarr, where is she?"

Fear and panic had settled deep into Solsti's bones as she pressed her pale hide back against the stone at the base of pride rock. Above her, rocks were hurtling down and around them lion after lion was falling to the earth in huddles. Some were getting up, others were at least stirring, but some -

"Solsssti, look at me," a slender, green head filled her vision and blocked her wide-eyed stare at a male that had fallen short some few feet ahead of her. "We will find her and then we will run."

Solsti's heart was drumming a mile a minute against her ribs but the weight of her scaled friend as he curled tightly around her neck to anchor himself was a bit of a relief. A very little bit. With a deep breath, she took a few steps forward and risked stepping away from the rock monolith. Perhaps it was safe, maybe the safest spot to be right now, but she could not live with herself if she did not find Equi first.

"Equi," she cried, loud and bellowing over the sound of plummeting stones and screaming pride landers, "Equi!"

She turned in place, her bright, golden eyes blown wide with worry - and then she heard her. The white dragoness turned and there she was, barreling across the land with Ormarr's matching brother strung across her shoulders. She picked a paw up, made to leap forward, only to have a chunk of meteor plummet down against the earth right in front of her feet. For a wonder, it was only a spray of dust and dirt that greeted her, but it left her shaken enough that she did not waste anymore time running for her other half.

"Equi, where do we go?"

"Mom!"

Relief flooded through Kayode, and for a moment all of his pain was wiped away at the sight of his mother making her way towards them. He shouldn't have doubted that she would come for them. His mother had always been there when he needed her the most, it was silly of him to believe that she wouldn't be here now. "Mom!" he called out again, hobbling on his limp leg towards her until she screamed.

He flinched, confused, his red eyes wide as he stared at his mother. Kayode didn't see the danger headed his sister's way.

Kiasi lunged forward, shoving Adannaya out of the way of a meteorite, and Kayode's world changed within an instant. Shock froze him in place, his gaze shifting from Adannaya back towards his mother. Asili's body blocked him from the complete view of his mother, but in the back of his mind he knew that something was deeply wrong. "Mom?" his voice cracked. "MOM!"

Kayode stumbled forward, trying to make his way over to his mother to help. He had to save her, she had to be okay!

Asili's voice broke through the quiet thud of his pulse, and he blinked, staring at his nephew with confusion. "But..." he protested weakly. They couldn't leave without their mother!

Adannaya hit his shoulder, and it was her voice that snapped him back towards reality. They couldn't stay here, and their mother could not come with. He knew, even if he didn't want to admit it, that he lost her. With tears flowing freely down his cheeks, he turned away, bolting after his sister towards the border of the pride.

As the children ran off into the distance, a golden figure slowly made his way through the chaos. Each heavy breath he took filled him with pain. His lungs burned as if a wildfire had consumed them, but that would not stop him. His mate and his children were ahead of him somewhere, and he had to find them. But, he was old, and too slow now to dodge debris and hurling rock. His body was littered with small injuries, too many to count if he had a mind to do so now.

He found her, laying broken on the ground. Their eyes met, and he knew as she knew that this was their final night together. His gaze was softened, serene from the love he felt for her and the peace he had come to with his life. Shaji stumbled forward, his eyes briefly shifting upwards to see his children running towards safety.

Good. They would be okay. Even without them, they would be okay. They had their mother's strength, and they had her heart. Nothing the world threw at his children would break them.

They met, and the way his forehead touched against her's felt like the first time he had ever felt her embrace. He smiled softly and laid down with her, letting her face rest against the warmth of his mane. "I'm here now."

---

In a land not so far from the Pridelands, a red lioness woke from her sleep. A paw lifted to her face, wiping away the wetness of her eyes. Gently she peeled herself away from the resting pile of red and gold cubs and walked out to the entrance of her den. Katiti'manina sat, lifting her head to the sky above to see the stars moving overhead, their graceful arcs lighting the sky.

She sighed, a heavy, resigned sound.

"Good bye," she whispered into the air. It was the good bye she had never given her parents before leaving her home. It was the good bye... she should have given.

The sound of her cubs mewling with hunger broke her peace. "Watch over me Mother, Father." The red lioness silently turned back into her den.

"HE'S DEAD!"

Dhahabu finally snapped out of his daze and tore his gaze away from his dead uncle, the lingering adolescents, the more successful rescuers and the general chaos around him.. filled with adrenaline, he was barely aware of a growing feeling of pain in his legs and the blur in his eyes as he began to run. Uncles Uzuzi and Kituwe were the only close family he had seen around before this, now Uzuzi was dead and Kituwe was nowhere to be seen so Dhahabu was on his own.

So he ran, and he didn't stop until he found shelter from the stars.

(5, direct hit with moderate damage)

There was always time.

Tau would admit he had been a lazy king. He had gone through the motions of his station, talked with those he had to talk with, and made decisions when pressed. He waved off any talk of marriage, of determining the next heir. He....he couldn't really think of it being an issue. He always used the excuse of wanting to make sure he did it right. The line to rule had been a mess since his great-grandmother's rule; heirs passed over for unexplained reasons, over and over. He had been sent to a place to live without his own direct family; never to know what it was like to argue with siblings, to challenge one another in friendly competitions...to have someone to lean on. He had grown up with eyes constantly on him, with a strict tutor and a too-kind grandfather. There had always been time in the future to figure things out, to let everything fall in place like he felt it would.

But in this very moment, there was not enough time.

His violet eyes shot again to the sky, watching the black creature crash into the earth. Tau's paws carried him as fast as he could, still crying his order. "Fall back to Pride Rock!" he yelled again, his throat going raw as he felt the trace wetness of tears along his eyes. How was he going to fix this? He needed a way to get everyone to safety...he couldn't handle the idea of any more blood on his paws for his poor leadership.

Then the King of the Pridelands froze in his tracks. The sounds of screams, yelling, and pain filled his ears until it was a fathomless void of noise. He watched as the stars were burning too brightly, seeming to chase after the god that wanted to doom them all to death. He needed more time to get everyone safe, to figure out a way to save everyone, to stop this....

Another scream. His eyes shot over to the group of adolescents, their horrified faces and another form laying in front of them cracked his heart. He audibly gasped, feeling his paw flinch for his chest as he stumbled backwards. The body count was rising....

And the stars were falling. The old Great Kings, there to help guide him as he stumbled in his duties...but when had Tau ever stumbled? He had never run into conflict before in his life. If there was ever a tough issue, Simi would offer him advice and the decision would be made. He was always able to talk his way out of issues and demands that the council and his grandfather had made. He was always polite but firm when turning down flirtatious offers from pretty females. Nothing had ever been very hard for him before, and yet....he felt his resolve attempting to shatter along with his heart. What was he to do, to fix this, when the Great Kings were clearly so furious with his inept ruling that they were killing his flock?

Tau felt his hind legs give out, falling back on his haunches as he screamed at the sky. "Great Kings! Don't kill them...please...stop!!" If only there was a way...some way for him to spread himself out, to take all the hits that were surely still to come. He was terrified to know what the body count would be when the dawn came.

It was a miracle that he hadn't been hit yet. He was still clutching to his chest, wet hot tears pouring down his face as he tried to get himself situated again. He didn't have a clue what to do; what was one lion to do to stop fate? A thump hit his paw that was clutched to his chest. Incredible heat shot out from it, and he felt himself reeling from the sudden shock of pain. He glanced down to realize that he himself had been hit; his paw and chest damaged, the stench of burning hair and flesh rising into his nose. He threw himself on the ground, wanting to ease to heat.

He deserved that. He wondered...what Great King had finally saw fit to punish him for his passive, lackadaisical view of ruling? His eyes were finally open to the truth of what it meant to be a leader, but was it too late to change?

Natia was doing her best to comfort her sister. Fear was flooding into her own mind, but she was somehow keeping herself more focused when she only let herself think about Kore. "We won't die. We will survive this, Kore. Mother will be waiting for us, its all right..." She was telling Kore this, but trying to force herself to believe it as well. They'd wake up near their familial den, and share another day of being companions and competitors in the story of their lives.

Everything happened so fast. Someone was here to evacuate them. Then the sky was falling...and their hero had died before they could even do anything. Kore's scream echoed in her head, over and over. "He's dead! He's dead! He's dead....!"

"Kore, Kore," Natia cried, doing her own nuzzling to comfort her sister and herself in this moment of fear. "Let's run somewhere safe," she breathed, feeling her eyes cloud over from the tears. This wasn't fair; this wasn't hwo life was supposed to go! This was supposed to be a fun, pretty evening watching the stars and sharing flirtatious looks with stupid boys. Not...watching adults die all around her. "Let's go with them, Kore!" As soon as she realized that another adult had come to help, and was more than likely going to perish from her wounds, with how Kayode was reacting. "Safer together," she whispered, pushing Kore to move with the group to the border.

User ImageFor a brief moment there was no screaming to be heard, the sound of rocks pounding against the earth was silent; the stillness was akin to death - total, infallible and overwhelming. Her young mind could not compute what has unraveling before her eyes - her brain had short circuited and her pupils were blown wide as for the first time in her short life, mortality was morbidly painted before her. How was this happening? Why, was this happening? There would be much speculation over the next few days she was sure, there would be a lot of talk, a lot of grief. If any of them survived this…

Golden eyes finally found her other half and despite the chaos it was hard to keep a relieved smile off of her face. She was okay- Thud. When a rock landed just before her sister, Equi’s heart stopped beating in her chest; only to start again when the dust had cleared and it became apparent that Solsti had not been hit. She was dirty a little scratched up, but still whole. The gasp she had made was audible, her legs were shaking, tears threatening to fall from her eyes at the wave of horror settled in her stomach.

The darker girl was shaking; violently shaking. Her companion’s grip was tighter than it had ever been before, the pressure around her chest reminding her to breath; did this mean, he was afraid too? The thought was all that was keeping her standing. That everyone else was just as terrified as she was. From their terror she found some bravery, some form of courage. She had to.

The dragoness stepped forward the last few steps to greet her sister, her forehead resting against the others females to offer some comfort. The girls breathing was heavy; but from terror instead of exhaustion. For a split second, she thought she had lost her and it had drained the blood from her skin. Touching her made everything right with the world once more, despite the chaos that still danced around them and threatened oblivion.

She heard the King call; urging everyone to return to Pride Rock. However being trapped, surrounded by stone - she did not want to return to the darkness. As long as she could see the sky they could run, as long as they could run they could escape. “It does not matter.” She shook head head - it was hard to believe anywhere would be safe. For a moment her brows furrowed, well she did know one place. Somewhere that she was not meant to know about; a place that she wasn't really allowed to venture.

“Oh, no. Not again. You promised me, girl.” Giftigg; who had an uncanny ability to follow his mistresses trail of thought, hissed in disapproval. But with the body count rising, his objection was only half hearted. Golden eyes glanced down at him for a second and Equi sighed.

“Towards the river.” She finally uttered, defeated.

Despair was not something that the black lion gave in to, it served no purpose and to hear the Prideland's king cry out had little effect. He was sure that the orders that had been roared would save the lives of countless, but the emotions that followed would also serve to dishearten others. Unfortunately this was par for the course, it was perfectly normal to grieve, particularly at inopportune times, and while Adar was not inclined towards expressing such behaviour it would have been unwise to assume that all others were the same.

He would have snapped at Tau if he could, he would have shaken him and told him to wake up from the stupor he now found himself in... However as it stood the black lion's immediate interest was in recovering another stupified creature nearby. Sadly he lacked the ability to split himself into several entities and even if he could, it would be a touch out of character for him. Quite frankly this had all been a bit bizarre for him. Heroics had never been his style and yet the longer he'd stayed in the presence of that tiny cub and provided her with guidance, the more he'd reflected upon the actions of both himself and others.

He was getting soft, urgh.

Fortunately he didn't take long to reach the fallen lioness and was met with the glassy eyes of a lioness who was far from this world. She had entered much the same state she might have found herself in when she'd found herself in the grasp of the scourge, perhaps this was simply how she was now programmed to act. Argh, but where was Suu'marle when he needed her to slap some sense in to the white lioness? There would have been a herb that would smack her back to reality, or now though, he was going to have to be more literal.

...Thus, Adar'Malik raised his paw and brought it down upon the lioness's cheek.

What followed was a terrified shriek, one that lasted far longer than it should as realisation and shock set in to the Pridelander's body. Rather than run she seemed to succumb to fear completely, curling in upon herself and quaking. The supernatural destruction that now rained down upon them had a much greater effect on her, than on him, that much was certain. However he couldn't ignore the blood that continued to seep from her neck and rather than leave her to her misery he elected to do the next best thing.

Tala was about to lose all her dignity but in turn it would save her life.

Before she knew any different the lion had grasped on to her injured neck, though care was taken not to snap at the wound, and he had begun to drag her back to the shelter of the overhanging rockface. This did nothing to stem the flow of the angry red liquid upon her neck and the slower rate of movement certainly didn't help him as further shards bit and tore at his hide, but eventually he did managed to get them to shelter.

It was there that he quickly lifted Di Yi and set her upon Tala's neck.

"Press, hard..." He instructed as he placed his paw on top of her's over the wound.

The startled cub did little more than obey as she pressed all the weight her tiny paws could muster upon the wound. There was something about the enterity of this event that had unsettled her, for the first time in her life she could sense fear and horror. There was a scent in the air that upset her, that frightened her and she wanted to make it go away, she just had no idea how. More importantly, she'd come to realise that a part of it might very well have been something to do with the two divine beings in the distance.

They were here and while one was clearly in pain (injured for sure), his fury was unmistakable against the other one.

...What had they all done to make her kind so angry, did her kind do this?

She had far too many questions and all threatened to bubble up into her mouth but the facial expression upon Adar's features made it very clear that now really wasn't the time. Mayhaps that was what made her the most unsettled, she'd never seen strain on his face, uncertainty about how to approach something, he wasn't entirely at a loss but at the same time it was clear that he was powerless to stop it.

Tala could do nothing more than gaze up towards both lions from her position of safety. She prayed that her children had been smart and each had fled to the safety of pride rock. She hadn't heard Tau's summons, she hadn't even heard his cries of despair towards the Great Kings... But then again she'd scarcely heard or felt the presence of the black lion as he had hauled her to safety either. To her, everything was terribly cold and very, very quiet...

"Are you okay Otea?" The green male asked as some of the commotion started to die down a little bit, though it was still a nightmare with all the things that were going on. Dead bodies laid rampant and he wasn't sure he wanted her to see any of this. It was terrible and it made his heart sink.

User ImageUser Image

Maahes let out a growl of pain and looked over to see a decent sized chunk of burned out flesh streaking down one of his legs. Feeling was beginning to come back to the area as he was able to move the limb but it hurt like hell. "Yea, I'll be okay, quickly, to the overpass." He said hoping to usher the female towards the rocky over face that might give them some sort of cover from the falling debris. Bodies lay everywhere and he knew that some of them were those he likely knew and he did his best to think of those who were alive currently and needed help.

Argy watched in horror as the male near him was struck and he moved over towards him quickly. Giving him a look over he knew there wasn't anything that he could do for him at the moment and quickly looked around for Diora, where was she? But a familiar body laid upon the ground not far away and his stomach flipped. It was Kimara, and Diora was doing her darnedest to get to her. "Are you okay? I'll try and do what I can to treat your wound but one of our healers would be better suited but she looks busy......" Please don't let Kimara be dead, he didn't want to have to tell her mate she had died.

Kimara's world was nothing but a black void of nothing. Void of all feeling and emotion, like she was suspended in simple animation, oblivious to the rest of the world.

Diora finally got free from underneath Areo's weight and ran over to Kimara, she looked okay, aside from a few scratches here and there that were hardly bleeding. But she was unconscious, possibly from the force of the concussion. Nesrin was pretty much useless as one of his front paws was pretty bloody from being sliced open so he wasn't going to be able to lift her at all. "We're going to need help." Diora gave a look around, "Areo, get her to cover please!." She said as the black and orange male managed to shake the debris from his eyes. Moving quickly over towards where Diora was she helped get Kimara upon his back and he quickly took her with the help of Nesrin over towards the overpass.

Kitoko was still in shock as blood, dirt and bodies seemed to fly around him. Maybe this was a nightmare? Some sort of a sick dream, but he knew it wasn't true. His heart was racing a million miles a second and a voice cut through the air, one that he knew. Wide eye'd he turned a frightened face towards his father as he was embraced in his warmth and he started to cry.

"Dad? DAD!" The large form of his father was on top of him and he finally got free from his father's grasp to make sure he was okay but grimaced as part of his face was severely damaged from one of the smaller meteors scraping across his face. Argo wasn't sure what to do so he did his best to get his stumbling father to his feet and lead him to safety. "What... What happened? Are you okay?" Prometheus's speech was a little off given the damage to his jaw but otherwise he seemed coherent enough. "It'll be okay dad, I promise everything will be okay." He wasn't sure his father would survive the wounds to his face but he was going to do what he could to make sure he would.

Jiniya was really just hitting the age where she had begun to understand that there had been something...odd in the pridelands for awhile. Whispers of some sort of cult, and the opposing, discomfort-inducing talk of offerings and god-worship that felt completely anaethema to the stories she had grown from cubhood hearing had left the young lioness doing her best to stay out of...all of it.

And so she found herself on the outskirts, closer to the pride rock that defined their homeland than most when everything went to s**t...but not close enough to avoid seeing a god murder a lioness, and another lioness stepping toward him...and transforming.

If that was not traumatic enough, then the sky opened up, the stars - their great kings of the past, who were supposed to watch over and guide them, hurtling toward the earth, and bringing pain, and fire, and...carnage. It was overwhelming for Jiniya, leaving the pale adolescent looking to and fro with eyes that were open so wide as to be able to see the whites of her eyes on all sides.

She knew she should...do something - flee toward the pride rock, or help one of the many injured...but she couldn't seem to convince her feet to move. She heard a low, keening noise, full of shocked grief...and barely registered that the noise was coming from her own throat.

They say fate protects fools...and perhaps it was true, as somehow, for all that she remained immobile in the midst of the shattered heavens falling to earth...she remained physically untouched, earning not even a scratch.

Kanoro - hit by broken shard
Soren/Otea - Miss

Kanoro ignored those around him. He needed to get out of here. Chaos soon erupted when the god dropped a dead lioness right in the center of the gathering. His eyes widened as he was quick to scamper. Not soon after the dead lioness, rocks began to rain from the sky. The smaller brown lion was quick to move away, but not enough to avoid being hit by a broken shard. He landed to the ground with an oomph, only notating the small pulsating pain, before quick to continue out.

---

By the time Hari had told her to stay behind him, Otea couldn't move. What was going on in her perfect pride?

Death was upon them. Figures were dying left and right of her. She was unsure how many had fallen, by Otea found herself huddled closer to the council member, shaking, finding herself rooted to the spot. She could not move, no matter how hard she willed herself.

When it seemed the commotion was dying down, the light lioness opened her eyes, refusing to look around at the aftermath. "What....?" Was all the petite lioness could muster, her eyes finally floating to the deceased.

Her heart broke when her eyes spotted familiar beings. Her mother and her father lay, not moving, not too far from her. She let out a small gasp as she felt her legs go weak underneath her. She fell to the ground slowly. She may not have been injured by debris, but her heart was injured knowing her family and friends were dead before her.

---

Soren had managed to escape unharmed from the fallout. He was quick to move away from the scene. It was only when he was further out that he turned around to eye the scene around him. A frown was on maw.

What a coward he was to turn and run. Sure others had done the same, but that didn't make it right in the pale lion's book.

He took a step towards the fallen. He needed to help.
