A new game shop opened near Yugi's game shop and the owner of the new game shop, Duke Devilin challenges Joey to a game of duel monsters, which Duke wins. Having humiliated Joey, Duke's next target is Yugi, but this time in a game of dungeon dice monsters. If Yugi should win, Joey is free of humiliation. However, if Yugi should lose, Yugi must swear on his grandfather's life never to play Duel monsters again.

Having just learned some of the rules of dungeon dice monsters, Yugi does poorly, but he isn't out yet.

After learning through the help screen on his laptop, Yugi manages to take the lead on Duke. The duel isn't over yet though.

Yugi beats Duke at his own game, thus winning Joey's freedom and gaining a new friend in the process.

Being under the mind control of Evil Marik, Bandit Keith not only steals Yugi's puzzle but challenges him to a duel, which Yugi must do alone.

Episode 51 of 224

Trying to break free of the mind control, Keith goes nuts and starts a fire. Yugi puts his puzzle back together and Joey along with Tristan helps free the puzzle from being trapped. Tea is worried that the gang is in even more danger than they had been in with Pegasus.

Episode 52 of 224

Ishizu Ishtar invites Seto Kaiba to a private exhibition at the museum where she tells him of the Egyptian past and that he might have been involved, but she also hands him an egyptian God card and requests that he throw a tournament to bring the other two cards out into the open. He agrees to hold this tournament, but only to reclaim his title as number one duelist unaware that he will always be number two and a true piece of crap.

Tea and Yami go out on a date where Tea helps Yami figure out some of his past, but Tea also meets a guy named Johnny steps who when losing, wants to run away. Tea cannot stand people like Johnny and sets Johnny straight.

Kaiba announces his new tournament after verifying that Obelisk is indeed a powerful card. The rules say that the loser of each duel must ante up their rarest card to the winner. And that any monster above 4 stars must have at least one sacrifice.

A rare hunter corners Joey and wins his red eyes black dragon card, but in doing so, Joey was late in visiting Serenity. Joey apologized and Yugi promised to help Joey defeat the rare hunter.

Episode 56 of 224

The rare hunter that took Joey's red eyes black dragon is now battling against Yugi for his dark magician. Yugi already knows the hunter's plan to summon exodia and Yugi plans on stopping that from happening.

Yugi beats the rare hunter and Joey gives his red eyes black dragon to Yugi to hold onto while they work at defeating Marik and his goons.

Joey begins to duel Espa Roba who Espa is a big cheat. Joey exposes Espa's cheating, but then Espa gains the upper hand by summoning Jinzo, which nullifies all trap cards.

Episode 59 of 224

Joey wins against Espa by using roulette spider, which was a risky move. Now Joey has Jinzo and Time wizard as rare cards in his deck.
