Continuing on, Tristen would find a dead end for the most part. Tristen would find the stream that would feed into the lake. He'd notice that the stream is coming from a cave just up stream, but it wasn't like he'd be able to make his way up there without someone such as Gyarados to carry him. And he's already committed to using Electabuzz for the moment. "I think we need to turn back around." Tristen said. Or maybe head up that way up the hill and maybe get a feel for the area from up there and see if there's any spots we haven't seen on this side of the lake."
The notion didn't really get a response from the Electabuzz other than a mild irritated grunt. Tristen could practically feel the bloodlust coming from this Electabuzz; it was ready to hurt something. Completely dauntless as to what he might find next. "...uh, yeaaahhh..." Tristen said, rubbing the back of his own head. Another Swablu was floating overhead, lower than the first one than he saw earlier. It wasn't really quite blending in with the clouds like the first one was; something that worried Tristen. Fears that would soon be realized. Electabuzz also caught notice to the Swablu.
"Elee BEHHH!" The Electabuzz sparked furiously and unleashed a powerful Discharge upon the unsuspecting Swablu, shocking it and having it fall to the ground.
"Geez, Electabuzz! A little warning!" The Swablu managed to pick itself back up off the ground, noting the bloodthirsty Electabuzz approaching it. "Uh...Sorry, Swablu! Kinda important that this battle happens, I...guess!" The Swablu kicked off the ground, breathed in, then unleashed bluish-green flames. "A Dragonbreath!" Tristen shouted. Electabuzz wouldn't yelp out, but it did wince from the attack, trying to wave off the attack to no avail. The Electabuzz, once again extremely irritated sparked up furiously, ready to fry the bird. "Electabuzz, Thunder Punch!" Tristen shouted. The Electabuzz rushed for the Swablu, taking a hard swing at it with an electrified fist. The Swablu however fluttered away, avoiding the wrath of the Electabuzz.
The Swablu would once again bombard Electabuzz with Dragonbreath once again, apparently getting the hint that Electabuzz was a Pokemon that shouldn't be approached by any means. The bluish-green flames pelts the Electabuzz, but Electabuzz sparked up furiously. As the damage started to rack up, the Electric type started to force his way through it, uncaring as to what it was doing. "Typical shadow Pokemon thinking..." Tristen muttered to himself. "Electabuzz, Shock Wave!" he shouted. The Electabuzz took its pent up electricity and unleashed a harsh damaging pulse upon the field, with no way for Swablu to avoid the attack. The electrical attack fried the tiny cloudy bird, dropping it back down to the ground and putting it out of commission.
Once again, Electabuzz was not finished with the battle and was approaching the Swablu. Once again, Tristen found himself diving in to protect the Swablu. "No more! The battle is over. We find something else!" Tristen shouted. When it was starting to seem like however that there was no reasoning with the Electabuzz this go-round, Tristen pulled back out Electabuzz's Pokeball and recalled the Pokemon for the time being.
Tristen would sigh hard; a close call, he figured. He'd be able to get Electabuzz away from the Swablu for now after he makes some distance.

Tristen managed to make distance from the fallen Swablu, looking for a place where he can release Electabuzz in peace and hopefully do some reprimanding, if that is possible for a Shadow Pokemon. He gets it; easier said to do with a Shadow Pokemon, the Pokemon can't help it because of a stupid virus, but there is only so much that someone can tolerate. Tristen would note an Aron burrowing out of the soil close by. Tristen would opt to leave the Aron alone for the time being; the Aron was going about without a care in the world. Leave it that way.

As Tristen continued on, he took note to a Shuckle apparently just relaxing at the lakeside. Seeing this thing made Tristen kind of deterred from releasing Electabuzz all the more. Tristen perhaps found an area loaded with various rock and steel types, which Electabuzz probably could take on, but would probably spend forever fighting. Shuckle being the epitome of such a notion, not to mention just how tricky he has heard these kind of Pokemon can operate. While on a normal basis, they probably couldn't do a whole bunch of damage to the Shadow Pokemon on their own, they did have a bunch of means to circumvent opponents and make live absolutely miserable.
If a Shuckle all there was at the moment, and it was just doing nothing more than minding its own business, maybe this was a fine time for Tristen to catch his breath. Tristen sat down at the lake, trying to think of some sort of game plan; Electabuzz was a whole different beast as opposed to how Magmar was or for that matter, Zebstrika was when he was a Blitzle. Tristen could only wonder if there was an easier time to do this instead of finding a bunch of battles for a Shadow Pokemon to take part in. It didn't seem right. Tristen would soon realize he had these sort of moral quandries every time he's done this. "Why didn't I realize that sooner..." He told himself. After a couple of minutes more, Tristen managed to get back up then went off somewhere to release the Electabuzz again.

Moving to Southern Lake
A Basculin leaped from the water in front of them as Amber and Spooky paused at the sight. She glanced at the Shuppet to see him look away, indicating that he wasn't going to battle. Apparently, he didn't think this one was worth his time. Shrugging, Amber gave a nod and the two continued walking, though Amber decided it was time to move to a different area. "Hmm, perhaps the Southern Lake might have some different Pokemon," she said. She didn't think the Omanyte was a bad fit, per say, but she was looking for something different. That being said, if she wasn't able to catch anything else, she would keep the Omanyte, not one to release Pokemon after catching them.

Arriving at Southern Lake
After traveling to the Southern Lake area, Amber decided it was time to take a small break. Spooky was looking a little worn out, and she didn't want to push him to hard, since he was the only Pokemon she was allowed to use at the moment. She was hoping to take some time to find some berries, but that thought was cut short as something ran by in front of her, and she jumped back just in time to avoid what would have been a nasty bite. The Tyrunt that had tried to bite her snapped its jaws in annoyance, not happy that it had missed its prey.
"Spooky, Phantom Force," she ordered, not happy that this little T. Rex had tried to take a bite out of her. Spooky, angry at the danger this little biter had tried to inflict on his trainer, immediately obeyed, vanishing into the ground and moving forward, only to reappear right in front of the Tyrunt and smack it full in the face with Phantom Force. The Tyrunt, not expecting this, reeled back from the blow, crying out in pain before trying to use Bite on Spooky. The Shuppet, expecting an attack like this, quickly vanished by going invisible, making the Tyrunt clamp its jaws on thin air as he rose above its head.
"Runt, Tyrunt!" the little Rock/Dragon-type cried out, not at all happy with the damage it took, even if it was only a little. It tried to bite down on Spooky, but the fact that he was invisible prevented Tyrunt from actually making contact. Spooky, seeing an opening as the Tyrunt looked around to try and find him, used Dazzling Gleam, causing the Tyrunt to grunt as it took quite a bit of damage from the super-effective attack. The Shuppet decided to give Tyrunt a chance to hit him, and he turned visible again, at which time the Rock/Dragon-type immediately turned and launched toward him with a Dragon Tail.
"Protect!" Amber snapped. Spooky tried to use the move, but it failed, allowing Tyrunt to land the Dragon Tail on him and causing some damage, though not as much as it expected. "Dazzling Gleam, again," Amber ordered. The Shuppet fired off the attack without hesitation, causing even more damage to the Tyrunt. The Rock/Dragon-type cried out in pain, glaring at the offending Shuppet before taking off, unwilling to take any more damage than it already had. Amber, seeing this, pulled out a potion and used part of it on Spooky, who looked much better afterward. "I would have liked to catch such a spirited Pokemon," Amber said, half to herself. "Oh, well, maybe the next one."

Amber and Spooky took a little time to rest, needing to be at their best if they were to take on any more strong Pokemon like that Tyrunt they'd just faced. After about fifteen minutes, they kept going, wanting to see what else they could find. It didn't take them long to run into an Aron, but the Steel/Rock-type decided it wanted no part of battling and scurried away. This was a little disappointing, as Aggron were incredibly strong and loyal if trained properly, but there wasn't much they could do about it, unless they wanted to chase after the Aron. Shrugging, Amber and Spooky kept going, waiting to see what Pokemon they would be able to battle next.

A Ferroseed was the next Pokemon to approach, and Spooky was quick to fire off a Shadow Ball, wanting to prevent it from getting too close to Amber. This angered the Grass/Steel-type, and it fired off a Flash Cannon. "Dodge!" Amber called, and Spooky tried to avoid the attack, though he wasn't able to get completely out of the way, taking a little damage right before he got out of the way. "Knock Off!" Amber said, and Spooky was quick to obey.
Surprisingly, this caused massive damage to the Ferroseed, which meant it was holding an item. An Oran berry lay on the ground nearby, and Amber smiled at this sight. "Use Shadow Ball before it can recover!" she said, and Spooky was quick to respond, firing off the attack before the Ferroseed had a chance to retaliate. This was all it took, and the Ferroseed flopped on the ground, unconscious. Amber was a little disappointed by this turn of events, but it couldn't be helped. "Let's keep going," she sighed, and the two kept walking.

Another Aron showed itself as Tristen continued on, but it seemed like the only Pokemon in the area for the time being. He studied the Pokemon from afar, waiting on it to go along and get about its business. Once the Aron took its leave, Tristen took one more look around then took out the Pokeball once more, revealing the shadow Electabuzz. The Shadow Electabuzz looked around, seeing that it was still in the general area, but it was denied its quarry. "You fight to bring Pokemon down, not out." Tristen told the Electabuzz. "There's no sense in it otherwise!"
The Electabuzz stared at Tristen, not saying a word, as if the shadow Pokemon was staring right into Tristen's very soul. It started to feel convinced as to what is Tristen's demeanor was. The Electabuzz wasn't liking it; indicated by the gradually angry grimace forming upon the Electabuzz's face. "Don't look at me like that. I'm trying to help you, if you realize it or not. Now come on, let's go."

Tristen walked down the area, starting to realize that he may not be able to wrangle Electabuzz for long. He was already trying to debate whether or not he should just cut his losses now and just work with Electabuzz on more controlled circumstances, namely the training room. Unlike Magmar, it wasn't like he was going to be able to shock Electabuzz into submission, and unlike Zebstrika when it was a Blitzle, it probably was not going to be as easily tired out. This was going to lead into problems if he was not careful. As he mulled over what to do, Tristen perked up taking note to another Pokemon, which also got the attention of the Shadow Electabuzz. "Uh oh..." It was a tiny bird, blue and compact. The Electabuzz wasn't waiting around; it was starting to move forward, approaching, rather menacingly.
Tristen looked at the Pokemon in his SNAG. A Rookidee, Galar's native bird, similar in fashion to Pidgey, Hoothoot, Taillow, and the like. "Alright, I guess we can battle." The Rookidee was already ahead of the curve however, going on the attack immediately. The Rookidee quickly fluttered over, pecking furiously, rapidly, trying to rack up damage on the Electabuzz "Electabuzz! Use Shock wave!" Tristen commanded. He wanted to make sure at the very least the attack was going to land. For the time being, the Electabuzz complied; sparking furiously and unleashing a massive electrical pulse, frying the bird and causing a great deal of damage.
The Rookidee fluttered back, trying to right itself then landed back on the ground. The Rookidee started to then focus, it starting to practically glare at the Electabuzz. "A Hone Claws?" His own Weavile had a similar attack in its repritoire. "We got to stop that. Electabuzz, Thunder Punch!" Tristen called out. The Electabuzz then swung at the Rookidee, but much to Tristen's dismay, the Rookidee got done with its Hone Claws and fluttered away, leaving the ELectabuzz to smash right into the ground it stood with its electrified punch.
The Rookidee then rushed after the Electabuzz, a dark aura started to shroud it. Tristen didn't recognize the attack, and didn't know how to really react. The Rookidee rammed right into the Electabuzz, causing a fair amount of damage. The attack, regardless, now agitated the Electabuzz, leaving it to fight on its own devices. The Electabuzz started to exude its shadowy aura. "Oh no, Electabuzz! Stop it! There's no sense in it! You could use an electric attack and it'd be just fine!" The Electabuzz wasn't listening, it was committed. Electabuzz roared out and from the ground, shadowy tendrils shot out, coming and impailing the Rookidee, causing extensive damage before pulling back out just as rapidly. The Rookidee fell over upon the ground; severely hurt from Electabuzz's Shadow Rave. It wasn't getting up. It wouldn't surprise Tristen if the Rookidee is in peril.
"No! That's it!" Tristen quickly took out Electabuzz's Pokeball. This battle was over, and so was this excursion. Tristen had to suddenly turn this safari into a rescue operation. "Electabuzz! Return!" As Tristen tried to return the electric Pokemon back to its ball, the Electabuzz moved away from the recalling stream. Tristen tried at least a couple of more times, but Electabuzz wasn't having it.
"Elebeeh!" The Electabuzz roared out, looking at Tristen now. This was inevitable, Tristen thought. The Electabuzz started to exude another shadowy aura, unleashing yet another Shadow Rave, this time towards Tristen. Tristen quickly leaped back, nearly finding himself impaled. But as he looked back towards the Electabuzz, he notices that Electabuzz's aura flared up and now his anger exploded. It was no question, Electabuzz reached Hyper Mode.
This wasn't good. Tristen needed to get Electabuzz back under control and get Rookidee out of here. Problem was with only being able allowed one Pokemon for the safari, Tristen only brought the one for the time being. Meaning now he had to go fisticuffs, for better or worse. Wouldn't be the first time, honestly. Its never pleasant either way. The Electabuzz once again roared out unleashing yet another Shadow Rave, but instead of retreating back, Tristen moved forward, pursuing the Electabuzz. There was an opening in the attack, Tristen realized. He didn't have long to act. The boy would rush in, practically diving at Electabuzz and tackling him to the ground. One thing, however Tristen would underestimate is the raw brute strength an Electabuzz would have. While it wasn't compared to say a Machoke or related Pokemon, it was still enough to make Triste have the hardest time to hang on tight, let alone lose his grip on Electabuzz's Pokeball. It was almost like Magmar, now that he thought about it.
The Electabuzz stopped flailing, growling out. Tristen knew that he couldn't shock him; his Lightning Rod would protect him. And unless he planned on Shadow Raving himself, which he might do with this mentality, there was nothing the Electabuzz could do. At least Tristen thought. "ELEBUUUZZ!" The Electabuzz then discharged massive amounts of Electricity.
"What are you trying to do!? Thats not going to hurt me, you know!" Tristen said, seeing if he couldn't work his way into a sleeper hold to bring this Electabuzz down.
"ELELELE!" THe Electabuzz strained out, cranking out more and more electricity, all of which being taken in by Tristen. It took a bit, but Tristen started to realize what Electabuzz was trying to do. Despite his newfound capacity for electricity since evolving, he's still only carrying a hybrid's capability. Tristen couldn't believe it, Electabuzz was willing to play chicken with Tristen. If Tristen lets go, he's free to take a Shadow Attack for his efforts. If he doesn't, he could potentially die from an electrical overload, and with Electabuzz's overclocked capabilities by means of the Shadow virus, he could keep this up for a bit.
"ELEEEE!" The Electabuzz screamed, the voltage cranked up even further. Tristen wouldn't be able to do this for long. He'd lose this battle before Tristen managed to take. Tristen tried to discharge electricty himself, but he was drawing in more than he was capable of discharging, and it wasn't hurting Electabuzz all that much at all. If at all. Tristen could feel it in his chest, power within him continually growing, ready to go out of control. It made every muscle in him feel like it was ready to explode with a grand spark. It wasn't Zapdos heart bad, but Tristen could only wonder with fear with Electabuzz's abnormal limits if the shadow Pokemon could actually threaten Tristen with such a notion. The way things were going, it started to feel likely.
Tristen started to fight with Electabuzz, pulling on him towards the water of the lake as Electabuzz continued to discharge its electricty. With everything Tristen had, he pulled him over the edge. The electricity disappated throughout the water and Tristen continued to hold on tight. It was now a case of what can hold on better? Tristen's capacity? Or his breath? The struggle went to a fever pitch under the water's surface; Tristen worried about if he would be able to outlast this Electabuzz full of fury from its hyper stat, but after a moment, Electabuzz stopped.
Tristen would pull himself back to the surface, dragging Electabuzz up and pulling him to solid ground. Tristen coughed and wheezed for the better part of a minute. He had to admit this was an extreme gamble, as most things tend to be it felt like. Soaked and despondent, Tristen walked over to Electabuzz's Pokeball turned and finally recalled the Shadow Pokemon back to the ball. He then took out a new one, an Ultra Ball, looking at the wounded Rookidee. Tristen couldn't help but to think he was to blame for all of this. Honestly, he was. Perhaps he should have just tried to train it in the Training room instead of what was essentially the middle of nowhere. Tristen would then simply toss the Ultra Ball at the Rookidee, hoping that it'd stay in the ball.

The ball rattled a bit, but frankly, it didn't stay long. Rookidee had no fight in it. It was in such critical condition, it didn't even bother fighting the ball. Not that he could blame it. He owed this Rookidee now, for all intents. A solemn end to what probably should have been a time of leisure. Tristen would then discharge a great deal of electricty now that he knew he could do that relatively safely. Unleashing probably one of his strongest Spark attacks in a long time for the better part of ten seconds, Tristen felt relieved now that wasn't going to be the issue. Now the problem...of getting back to someplace warm before he freezes from wet clothes...

Monique stepped out into the southern part of the island, which was the most hospitable and least frigid. She wasn't used to environments this cold, even with her new fur and a decent outfit, but Alola this was not.
She needed someone new on her team, as Oricorio and Komala evidently did not make the leap with her. At least she had Marowak. She hoped that at least one of the Pokémon that inhabited this area might help her start to rebuild her squad.

"I still don't see why you asked me to come along," Cera remarked, floating past the entrance to the train station.
"Well, we're both out of the running in the tourney, and I don't know about you, but I'm still a bit stiff from unceremoniously using the ground as a bed and then learning the technology exists to make that feel softer than the hospital beds around here." Sol would leave the train station himself as he spoke, snow melting underneath with each step. "Moving around will do us both some good, and I can't recall the last time we just... explored. Adventured a little, without some job to do or important, world-saving task to worry about."
Unlike some certain hybrids that could just exert fire energy to keep themselves warm, Cera would have to settle for trying to bundle her scarf around herself a bit better. Even still, she shivered a bit from the cold. "And you had to pick this place?"
"And you had what place in mind?"
"I don't know!" The Mew shouted, gesturing wildly. "Maybe some place that isn't freezing!?"
"What if we get some hot chocolate at the train station afterward?"
"........fine."

"...hm." It seemed the snowy area the train station was in didn't go quite as far as expected, with Sol and Cera finding their way to a grassier- albeit still quite cold- area that didn't look to see as much snowfall. Shortly after getting there, Sol would spy a Nidoran near one of the many berry trees that littered the field. The lighter purple was enough to tip off that it was a female one, and while she probably wouldn't be a challenge in the slightest, he supposed that wasn't an issue.
He hesitated for a second, but this was maybe the first properly lighthearted thing to come in some time. Surely a bit of jest would be fine.
"Well, I suppose no time like the present. Cera, use Psychic on that Nidoran over there! It'll be good practice."
Somewhere, elsewhere in the world, a record would surely have scratched and stopped much like Cera's abrupt stop in the air, practically frozen in place for several seconds before spinning around to face Sol. All the while, her face conveying a mix between being dumbfounded, a bit angry, and a sort of disgust she might've once reserved for the likes of Ein. "E-excuse- I'm sorry, it's been what? Thirty years? Give or take a few? We're- okay. We're, we're doing this. Now? Commanding me like another of your-" Pausing long enough to sigh, put her hands together and take a deep breath, what came next was enough to make the Nidoran scurry off in a panic from the shouting that got broadcast into her mind alongside Sol's.
"Who the hell do you think you are!?"
Sol would try to speak, but as soon as a slight sound came from his beak, she'd cut him off. Already, he had the feeling this might blow up in his face. Is blowing up in his face.
"I'm sorry, how many badges do you have, trainer? Oh, right, none."
"Uh..."
Noticing the Nidoran wasn't around anymore, he motioned to resume exploring instead, only for Cera to turn her back to him and utter a "mew" as she crossed her arms.
"You do know I can still understand you without your telepathy."
"Mew."
There was perhaps a bit of irony in that while Sol could translate without issue, the translation was simply "mew."

Slight pangs of regret were already taking hold in Sol after the two finally continued, Cera continuing to give a cold shoulder that might rival Blizzard's literal ones. His attempt to have a little fun and maybe finally let his hair down could be going better, one might argue. But maybe he could turn this around somehow. At least, those were his thoughts when he saw a Galarian Zigzagoon dart by.
"I'm sorry, perhaps my earlier bit was off base. Let's try this instead. If that Zigzagoon's like the ones I normally know, its speed should be good practice for your Aura Sphere-"
"Cera ignored orders!"
What came next wasn't an Aura Sphere, but instead Psychic. Which proceeded to do nothing to the Zigzagoon as it rushed by and otherwise left them alone. But it certainly made the grass shift from the force.
"...I suppose it's good to know these ones are also Dark-type..." Sol remarked, opting to take in the small victories.

"You know, I thought you'd be more for the idea since there isn't some huge threat to worry about. And besides, what if a time comes where I had to pass you off as one of my Pokemon? Again." In hindsight, Sol felt maybe he should've given more warning. But being so used to plans and the like changing at a moment's notice was both a blessing and a curse. Today, it was a curse.
"Mew."
"And after a surprisingly decent train ride, too... Are you going to say anything directly to me other than "mew" at least?"
"Mew."
"Guess not."
During the continued spat, a Wooloo would roll by in the background. Look at it, it's so happy.
