The ghost seemed to let out a long sigh, the sheet billowing out slightly in the middle of its facial region before settling back into place. It’s head hung in clear defeat, and tentacles rose and fell, spreading the bottom of the sheet and letting it flutter back to the floor.

But it didn’t turn around and leave. Not yet at least. She continued to stand there, staring at the floor, a few moments longer.

Quietly, another whisper, “Are you my grandpa?” Her mom was always talking about another grandpa, and while Gremlin knew she was probably wrong, she hoped it was this kind looking man in front of her and not the scary one that had appeared moments before him.

Demaskus grinned at the sudden feeling of his sister at his side. "Deianira, how could I miss the Lady arriving?" His eyes turned to focus on Lilith for a moment, before turning back to his sister. "She is quite pretty, yes. Not my style, but lovely nonetheless. And why wouldn't she? She is the mother of our people, after all... And maybe even, in some ways, of Great-Grandmother." He glanced at Mary Sue, who had moved to a seat at the table, far from her complicated connections, and he gave her a slightly comforting smile. She seemed so uncertain, and lost at this table.

But she was family, after all. He wondered how she was going to handle life with Caine asleep, and having been overtaken by his son. She had seemed lost since the upheaval, but she was going to have to find her way. Demaskus could not help her, honestly. Instead, he looked to their God and his mother again, and their Great-Great grandfather, eyes taking in everything that was going on around them. "Who else do you think we should approach?"

That seemed to perk the little ghost up a little. He wondered why she word the sheet. Was it a comfort thing? Some new fashion in the young vampire’s world. Who knew. However she wanted to dress though was fine by him. He wouldn’t judge.

Placing a hand on top of her head again and leaving it there briefly he smiled. “Then I guess it’s lucky for you that I am.”

Emppu chuckles slightly and leanse against Cassius a bit. "Talking I can do, love." He raises a brow at Cassius again, then shakes his head slightly. "You got just as riled up as he did though, so are you two really that different? I bet he's blaming you just as much as you're blaming him." He chuckles again. "I honestly just don't care what people think or say about me. I might have been a bit more confrontational if he'd actually come to blows with you over the insults, but the things he said to and about me? Please. I was once in the death metal industry and some of the haters there get far more creative in their insults." He reaches up and brushes a bit of Cassius' hair out of his face affectionately. "You should both be lucky if we aren't all made to sit together and the two of you made to be nice to each other, you know." Both Thorne and Cassius were equally to blame for their predicament, after all.

Lilith was quite enjoying her evening. There was certainly no shortage of points of interest. She felt Grendels power ripple out and noticed his sons, who had previously been quarreling, now seemed to be standing awkwardly in place. From the way one of their partners had kept walking, and then suddenly stopped to come back, she easily deduced they hadnt done so of their own accord. Her thoughts drifted for a time, out of the temple, back to the Wasteland. She would need to plant her first garden soon, but she needed something special in order to do so. Something she could very possibly get tonight if this dinner went well enough.

Another gentle swirl of the contents of her glass, a savoring sip, and Lilith felt eyes upon her. Her gaze travelled instantly to the source, a small little spirit was peeking at her from behind a chair across the room. And my what a gaze. She felt a rippled somewhere deep in her gut, there was something very interesting about this little ghost. The color in her ruby eyes flashed, almost emberlike, as she stared back. Lilith crouched down gently to get to the childes level, raising a paw and summoning her over with a little 'come here' waggle of one claw.

Cassius might have glared at Emppu if he could have. Just who’s side was he on? Apparently, not his mates. “Okay, I changed my mind. You can stop talking now.” He grumped, but only after Emppu had said everything he had intended to.

He hated this. Everything about this. Unable to move, feeling completely helpless. It was like having Zap pinning him in place again, though at least this time he wasn’t getting his face pulverized.

“I’ll be nice to him the day he stops being complete jackass. Which will be never.” Cassius stated, hopefully putting the discussion to rest.

From where he stood, frozen in place, he had a pretty good view of Ravnos, who he had always idolized. Of course, knowing that he had failed his mission to bring Zap into the fold of the clan, he now dreaded the conversation he was going to have to have with the Disciple. He knew it was inevitable, and that Ravnos was definitely already aware of the failure, but thinking about the rejection he and Emppu were about to face almost made the vampire feel sick. At least he seemed distracted for the moment, with the weirdo in the sheet bothering him, but once that he ended the Disciple rose to his feet.

s**t, s**t, s**t. Cassius wasn’t ready for this. He willed his limbs to move, and strained against the hold.

Suddenly, just as he felt he couldn’t possibly expend any more effort, he was able to move again. He stumbled forward, catching Emppu by the arm in an attempt to stop himself falling face first into the floor. He was free! Glancing back to Ravnos, he then looked over to his mate.

He jerked his head toward a place in the room that was pretty much as far away from the Disciple as they could get, hoping his mate got the message.

Rabbis pondered who to talk to first/ there were so many here that he could have many conversations tonight if he so please. He remembered Cassius was here, of course! He needed to have a conger with him about Jamie task and the status of him and Emppu.

But when he went or find him he had left the place where the Disciple last saw him. Odd.

He supposed he would have to track the young vampire down later. So I’m dead he went to visit with Amria, Jorge and Jackal. Tilting his head to them in greeting. “I’m glad to see you could make it Amria, Jorge. And I see you have brought Jackal as well and what’s this? A newborn? How wonderfully.”

Amria sat up straight as her father finally spotted Sparrow in Jackal’a arms “Her name is Sparrow. She is Jackal’a daughter.”

Ravnos smiled warmly .”I see another great grandchild for me then. Although they is no surprising. Our family grows every time I blink. Hopefully one day you and Jorge will have little ones soon.”

She shot Jorge a knowing glance before she smiled. “Yes hopefully.” She reached over taking Jorge’s hand and giving it a gentle squeeze.
